Ok so I was browsing the MSPA wiki to kill some time, and I somehow ended up on this page (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004102) which contains a discussion between Vriska and Doc Scratch. What caught my eye though, was this:

Now unless this was already addressed in a previous update (which is entirely possible that I forgot about) I think we have yet to see the worst of the consequences of Vriska's manipulation. I mean, the destruction could be referring to Bec Noir, it could be referring the destruction of the Green Sun, the massacre of the Horrorterrors, or maybe even the release of English. Or even more horrifying: something worse than all of that.

So yeah, anyone else forget about this conversation till now?

Can someone explain to me why people hate Vriska but love pretty much every other Magnificent Bastard villain ever? I don't understand it. Yes, she's messing with people and claiming she's in control of everything. Finally caught up with the series today, have to say that its moving fairly quickly even from the front, so its a race at this point to catch up with current posts from the very beginning.

OPINIONS ON THINGS SO FAR:

John Egber appears to be bleeding profusely, which is sad since he was my favorite character.

Vriska is a stuck-up crazy bitch, obviously delusional and going to make a lot of problems for everyone, and I love her for it. I hope she dies, but I love her.

Bro is dead.

Jade is probably the single most useful character in the events thus far considering all the stuff she did throughout the first few acts to arrange for items to go where they needed to go, bringing together the little black creatures in Skaia, and getting the robo-bunny to John when he needed it to keep Jack at bay. The trolls need to lay off of her about being useless.

I share the confusion the four human characters have about the caste of trolls. The sheer number of them is quite annoying, since they were all introduced almost at the same time. At first it was extremely annoying how they had their annoying chat mechanics and colors, but now its gotten to the point that its the only way I can identify them. Aside from a few very important ones (such as Vriska) I can mostly only associate a name and a face.

The art, music, and flash animations have been fantastic.

Rose was among my favorite characters and I will dearly miss her if she dies.

Dave seemed like an annoying douchebag at first, but he's improved, especially lately with all of his nonsensical timewarping shenanigans.

The troll wHO tYPES uSING cAPITAL lETTERS tHE wRONG wAY seems like an interesting character with a great deal of room for development. His recent conversation with Jade, however, was just plain awkward on a variety of levels. It is my sincerest hope that he will become less of a pansy, and will ultimately be Vriska's undoing.

Assuming Tavros can control Noir, then that means Vriska can control Noir too (double psychic reacharound).

But really, Tavros' ability is to "commune". The reason he can control animals is because he can talk to them and convince them that the thing he wants them to do should be done. If he tried to commune with anything with more sentience/language like Noir, then I'm not sure if it's any different from if Tavros just talked to him regularly. It's not impossible, though.

But yeah if Tavros can control anything then that means Vriska can control it too.

Tavros communes with animals. He's basically able to communicate with them, and is really good at convincing them to help him. Being persuasive in some way is a Breath thing, and he's the Page of Breath.

It might be possible that he could be more dominating, but it seems like that would go against the nature of his power. Even with the imps, he himself said that he was asking not telling, and put limits on what he'd ask them to do.

Also we have no idea if his power worked on Bec beyond simply alerting the dog to Jade's plight.

But all I'm saying is that if he pulled something like flat out dominating Bec Noir, it would be something new, not just a natural application of what he's already done.

Tavros seems to be able to take full control of the creatures he "communes" with, as is evident both because of Terezi's lusus and because of the army of various Imps and Ogres he had with him earlier. Vriska's control over Jack is likely limited or nonexistent, since it has already been demonstrated that she can merely put John and the others to sleep because she cannot exert full control over their alien brains. At this point, Jack has got to be far enough from being whatever he was that through brain differences (or sheer force of will, being omniscient/omnipotent) she cannot control him herself. Tavros, however, has demonstrated the ability to control things that are not only a very wide variety of animals and beasts, but even things that are remotely similar to them, such as Becquerel.

As for the theory Tavros may use Jack to kill Vriska, I don't completely doubt it. Sure, hypothetically Vriska may try to control Jack through Tavros as she did before with Terezi's lusus, if it came down to a confrontation of any kind between Tavros and Vriska, I think her arrogance would compel her to refrain from mind-controlling Tavros and making the fight too easy.

Given that Tarvos' power is called "Communing" I'm betting it's still just talking to them. I don't think you could use Terezi's dragon Lusus as an example because Terezi lost her sight because she realized she didn't want to see (in the conversation that started here (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004474)). I could be wrong about that though, I'm still not sure how Vriska knew she'd be getting back at Terezi.

The imps are a more interesting example, but we've seen more simple forms of persuasion (http://www.mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004881) work on people, so I don't see why he couldn't do something like that, were he persistent enough about it.

Edit: Also I'm thinking if it's taking this long for an update we're waiting for a flash update to end Act 5 Part 2. But that's just wild speculation.

Terezi's dragon was already guiding her around the world of non-sight in her dreams, so instructing her to look up and open her eyes might not have been out of character, even if it happened to be against better judgment. So, I don't think Tavros can necessarily make targets to do things they'd never do, but he is able to direct them toward ends they never intended.

We saw John in gold pyjamas, then we saw Fully Realised Heir of Breath John, who I meant to refer to as Skaia John, in a different place. One was bleeding, the other wasn't. Anything beyond that is speculation.

It seemed pretty clear that his dream body was lying on a similar bed in the battlefield, what with the checkerboard pattern to the land and the structure his golden-pajama-laden self was laying on. It is this body that we see rise into the air all sparkly-glowy and change into "Skaia John", complete with removal of blood.

It could also be that you need to lose your initial body that you brought into the Medium in order to use the dream body to ascend these new ranks. I suppose if we learn more about the "God Tier" and who's advanced on it we could then pair that information with who we currently know is in a dream body and who is not.

If I were to speculate though, I'd say dream John died and was reborn as John the White due to the circumstances of his death. In which case he's not really the same guy.

But we really know very little about what happened there. The closest thing we saw to him outright changing was the receding blood.

Edit: Actually, my bad; we saw his body rising up. At any rate, the main point was that we saw nothing to really suggest that Jade's been screwed out of the god tiers.

I was a little dubious that dying on the quest bed was a necessity to reach the battlefield/god tiers but I guess this confirms it. I like this better though. It adds more purpose to the dreamselves instead of just being "extra lives" (who also have easier access to methods of seeing/hearing the future in/from clouds/horrorterrors).
