I think basically what's happening here is that Brian is systematically going through every loose end in the whole comic and saying, "Nope, that's not relevant to the ending. Nope, that isn't either." Once the forum is completely out of things to speculate about, then he'll end the comic with something completely meaningless and stupid (which, I mean, come on, is what we're all hoping for anyway; who wants this comic to have some kind of meaningful point?). So Sarda turning out to be OK is going to be true, but also completely irrelevant to the conclusion of the comic.
Also, I'ma be disappointed if the comic ends without Dragoon getting a chance to make another showing.

If it counts, Dragoon also said it (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2007/09/20/episode-896-the-case-against-allowing-red-mage-to-speak/).
I sure do miss that crazy lancer. He may have been dumb, but he was the most rational character in the comic.
I thought he did, but missed it as I was focusing on RM when looking for the line. It was a long ass time to find it, too. Of course, reading the comic backwards has always put things into a little bit of perspective as to how long it has really been. You remember an episode being months ago, but of course it only takes a few clicks to get to it.

I do, both Dragoon and mostly a meaningful point. I'll be happy with something nonsensical though, as long as it's happy (very, very funny is a big bonus, but not the mandatory requirement).

The problem with your theory is that it is a paradox. I'm pretty sure if he had someone say "the" it would be over-analyzed to the point where it would only create more questions.
it's totally starting to make sense, who caused the most Chaos so far? The Light Warriors. Who, knowing full well what kind of individuals they are, sent the Light Warriors on this quest for Light Orbs? Sarda! Sarda is Chaos!!!! Egads, We're all doomed!
Now that you mention it, a big factor in the brutal raping of Sarda's childhood was the fact that he sent them to the exact places were his younger self was at the time. You would think an omnipotent demi-god would think of this sort of stuff.

Perhaps that was the point. I guess its MY turn for a weird paradoxal theory.
Black Mage murders Onion Kid's parents. Onion Kid learns the arcane arts, and goes to the beginning of the universe to reprogram it. White Mage is there first, defining him as Sarda. So, Plan B ensues. Sarda decides to warp the (current) Onion Kid's past even FURTHER by sicking the Light Warriors on him. Over and over again. Dead foster parents. OTHER dead foster parents. Destroyed orphanage. Muder trial throwaway comic. (Funny one, I might add.) "Onion Kid" NOW has experienced a ton more tragedy than "Sarda" has ever experienced, and therefore has Sarda's warped mind to the exponent of 10.
What is the point here? The ENTIRE Orb quest was a sham. Sarda could have gotten the orbs whenever he wanted to. It's not like he couldn't get near the orbs; he's touched them and manipulated them in certain comics. He simply manipulated the life of his past self to experience a LOT more tragedy to be filled with more homocidal rage. The orbs THEMSELVES were the distraction to keep the Light Warriors from figuring this out. They are also the means to travel to the beginning of the universe. And now they've been gathered, he's going to send ONION KID instead. If SARDA can do all this crap after experiencing ONE tragedy, how much carnage is ONION KID capable of after a 14 billion year gestation period.
As much as Chaos, perhaps?

Two of the three major events that snapped his mind (looking at Black Mage's face and the murder of his first family; the third would be the whole "left alone in darkness for billions of years" thing) happened before they even met Sarda. So, it's mostly their fault for the initial raping of Sarda's childhood. Besides, we already learned that Sarda does not take personal responsibility for actions that screw himself over after he held a grudge against White Mage for something jackass-y that he did.
