So, Pixar's newest movie, Up, came out today, and I'm curious as to whether anyone has seen it yet/what they might think about it. I personally found it terrific, although I'm not going to waste time ranking it against other Pixar movies or anything of the sort. I definitely recommend seeing it.

I'm off to see it tomorrow with my girlfriend. We've been all kinds of psyched to see it since we saw the teaser.

What I want to know is, when is Geri (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geri%27s_Game)getting his own movie?

BEST PIXAR MOVIE EVER
Lots of people cried in the theater I attended. I didn't-- although I admit I trying really hard not to. XD

Animation was, as always, absolutely gorgeous. The 3D was utilized in a way that actually added to the grandness of the scenery, rather than in the usual forced-down-your-throat THIS IS IN 3D WOOOO LOOK OUT THAT ROCK IS GONNA HIT YOU! way. Bravo, Pixar.

You wouldn't think an animated movie about an old man clinging to his past and trying to fulfill his dreams would make for quality children's entertainment. But Pixar manages to do it and do it beautifully, and as always, the movie can be enjoyed by any age group, not just kids.

And I love the way the dogs talk. It's so perfect.

GO SEE THIS MOVIE, PEOPLE. DO IT NOW.

Also-- For those who have seen it already: Was it just me, or was WALL-E sitting on one of the rocks in the cave? I only saw it for a split second, so I may be mistaken.

98 on Rotten Tomatoes. I didn't need any more reasons but yes, I wish to see this.

Off topic, but know what I hate? That all most the entire top ten of the box office is made up of critically panned movies.

Eh, I still think it's an awful fad. A gimmick to get peoples attention, and an excuse to charge people way too much, not to mention it detracts slightly from the color. Until the technology is fully perfected, it's not worth implementing in film.

But fff, yes, it was incredibly sad. At the same time though it was incredibly heartwarming. It was really one of the best movies about coping with death and loss that I've seen.

Just about the entire movie worked for me, the structure of the story, the themes and character arcs, and Carl has to be the most well developed character in a Pixar movie yet.

Eh, I still think it's an awful fad. I agree completely. But Up at least uses it as a tool to make the movie look nice, rather than as a gimmick to see how many objects they can throw at the audience.

Okay, so maybe I was a bit overexcited with that previous post of mine. I think I prefer Ratatouille still, but Up is certainly second place in my heart.

I love how the most symbollic movie of the year so far is a flick with talking dogs. So sad that this will never even get the nomimation for Best Picture at the Oscars.

After seeing it, I'm pretty sure it's their most progressively enjoyable movie yet (as in, the older you are the more it resonates). I saw it with my family and me and my brother got a little choked up at the beginning (because we had lost grandparents) but my mom was close to bawling (since she lost a parent and the prospect of losing someone is closer).

But yeah, a great movie, although I left feeling like there were some undernourished parts, or maybe I just wanted more Alpha (and thus more talking dogs), that still leaves WALL-E's love story the best offering. Still, definitely worth 9.8 Lumenskir Badges.

PPS: Hands down the best short.

Go see and enjoy one of the best movies about growing old and responsibility to yourself and others.

Loved it. (Short was awesome too.)

Glad that I'm not missing anything with all of these 3-D movies. I'd still like to see one someday. Maybe I should see Up in 3-D.

Up was fantastic. Surprisingly I didn't cry. Which is weird, I cry at everything. I thought the balloons were animated beautifully.

After leaving Up I couldn't help but wonder how Pixar does it again and again when no other movie studio can even come close just once. Maybe I'm just picky, I'm not a big movie lover, but I will always go see a Pixar movie in theaters.

Up was fabulous, absolutely fabulous. Yet another Pixar masterpiece. I'll have to pick this one up too, though DVD or Blu-ray I am not sure.

Wall-E still inches in to my top slot, though, Up is now an easy second.

This movie actually caused me to nearly cry(As in I actually got some tears, mang).

No such movie has been capable of doing that.

Amazing. Pixar is so timeless. They know how to have really good, innocent humor, while at the same time presenting a really heavy theme.

Squirrel?!

I liked it a lot and as has been said Carl's story was super sad. I just have to whine a little about the fact that the movie seemed to lose dimension with every character added with the exception of Russell. The dynamic of old and young played out quite well but contrasted poorly with the hundred-year-old evil genius explorer and his legion of doom dogs. Alpha and the bird just seemed out of place to me, Alpha mainly for the voice gag and the bird just seemed like overkill to me. <3 me some Dug though.

Also did anyone catch exactly what happened to Russell's dad?

Kevin was central to the plot though, if any of the group of main characters were unnecessary or overkill it would be Dug. (Not saying I disliked him, he's just the least important to the plot of Carl's group.)

Russell's parents are divorced. "Phyllis" is the woman his dad remarried, and Russell rarely sees his dad now.
