I actually like this webcomic, and had many a chuckle from it. But since it has said that 8-Bit Theater is coming to it's finale,I've been giving this matter some thought. Because it is based on a game with no actual copyrighted characters,I remember two other video games simular to Final Fantasy I.

Dragon Warrior/Quest III is very much like Final Fantasy I,because it also has 8bit sprites, and no copyrighted characters. However,if Brian wants to stick closer to the Final Fantasy series, there is Final Fantasy XI. But that isn't a 8bit sprite game.

Anyway,I'll leave it up to Brian.

Just because the main character(s) doesn't/don't have a default name doesn't meant there are no copyrights involved. It's the actual sprites/images that cause issues, I believe.

We should for serious do an FAQ for this sort of thing.

To save someone else the trouble of filling this in:

1. Dragon Warrior and everything that has ever been in a DRagon Warrior game is copyrighted as all fuck, just like

2. Final Fantasy and every single solitary pixel that has ever been in a Final Fantasy is copyrighted as all fuck, which is why

3. Brian Clevinger is never again writing another sprite comic because he likes writing comics that he can sell to people for money.
