I thought we might give this a shot.

Basically since bunches of peoples seem to play this game this thread is for 1. planning particular times / servers to meet up if people are serious about doin' that and 2. basically if you're going to play some TF2 you go into this thread and post like "YO DUDES PLAYIN SOME TF2, GET IN ON DIS" and other people will see that and go "Hmmmmmmmm I also could go for some TF2, perhaps I will get in on dat."

So yeah we will see how this goes.

Yeah, okay, last two (maybe three) posts? Move that shit to this thread (http://forum.nuklearpower.com/showthread.php?t=35113), as it is the general TF2/Egypt sucks/yellow sucks/Mesden sucks/Fifthfiend sucks/everybody but me sucks/yellow rocks/fuck you/etc. discussion thread, whereas this is specifically for meetup arranging only.

Well my Steam ID is Grthwllms, so whenever someone feels like adding me or inviting me or whatever is probably going to be fine with me.

Righto first off, join the NPF steam group if you haven't: http://steamcommunity.com/gid/103582791430149847

This'll add everyone in the group to the bottom of your friends list so you can pop it open and see who's playing what where and when, and join them with two clicks.

Often it'll say I'm in TF2 but not actually on a server, since I leave it minimised between games rather than keep booting it up and shutting it down, so even if it says I'm in-game feel free to yell at me that you need a medic buddy in your game or whatever and I'll see what I can do.

As for an NPF invasion, how about next saturday or sunday? If we mutually agree on a server, we can just add it to all our favourites and hop in and out throughout the day, we'll probably run into someone else at some point. As long as it has a good map cycle everyone should find something they want to play on at some point throughout.

Alternatively, just everyone pile into the NPF steam group's private chat room (runs through Steam). Then whenever someone joins a game it alerts the whole chatroom and we can all bandwagon along.

EDIT: I'm "BB Only Ubers Snipers" at the moment, just to clarify.

PS I will make the first post a list of like, communities people should join and people's steam names if they wanna list them here and whatever else anyone feels is important.

Steam name - jakdup1 - here (http://steamcommunity.com/id/jakdup1)

Willing to play anytime from 7-10 central time. Longer on Sundays. No guarantees on Saturdays.

As for an NPF invasion, how about next saturday or sunday?
I can tell you right now weekends are not good for me at all, as I typically work from 1 to 10pm EST both days. Unless you were wanting to go for something more latenight, I'd never be able to make it.

And for everyone's reference, I'm currently going by Pleasure Boat Explosion, though that's subject to change at my whim. In any case, the profile notes that I'm POS.

EDIT: Okay, so what's everyone up to tomorrow evening? I have the night off and wouldn't mind getting this show on the road if anyone has a server in mind. I might even be able to pull something off tonight, now that I think about it.

What timezone are we talking? I rather meant "what kinda time does that translate to in GMT terms" since "in the evening" for some is "early morning when I should be sleeping" for others. I could probably go until 2AM, which I believe is around 9pm EST?

EDIT: Also you can totally add me to the first post, steam ID is babybahamut

I have played this game for a total of maybe 10 hours? But at least it's installed and fun. When I am in an FPS mood, I'll see what you kids are up to.

I already try to hop onto servers people are playing on through the Steam Group but it really doesn't work that well. I haven't played in a while but we should try a tournament or squad invasion sometime.

You'll often find me on payload maps. Or when I'm feeling like it, the servers that let players jukebox music.

I'm still behind the idea of a mass get together, I guess the problem is just find a good enough time for a bunch of people. So, ya know, start posting when you would be available.

I'm generally available evenings (Central US time 6-11 pm) most any day of the the week. Sundays are completely free right now.

the Lawful Good Server is usually not busy on the weekends.

Also, I've taken a liking to the Dark Impulse (Orange map) rotation servers.

Bear in mind, it DOES have a few payload maps for DI. Stonedepths and orange are a major majority however.

Hmmmmmmmmmm, come to think of it this would also be a good place to post good servers people know of.

I've played a fair bit on Twenty-Sided Lawful, as well. It can be pretty cool but sometimes has quite a laggy streak. Also, unless I'm mistaken it tends to favor payload maps more than anything.

And yeah, I'm on EST, so I'd be pretty reliable from 6pm EST onward for the next couple days, after which I am working late for the following four.

I haunt the HKCentral servers: http://hkcentralgamers.com/

All "vanilla" (as in, no stupid mods like flying medics or instagib), friendly to newbies but accommodating stronger players, a lot of admins who know their craft well and keep the balance, alltalk is off, and it's just generally a good time.

And provided I remember, that time is good for me at least.

To be honest, I joined that server through the friends list, but I did not recognize a single person on it from NPF. I guess I'm the only person that carries a persistant name. Though there was this particular spy that gave off an Aerozord vibe. Probably a coincidence.

I saw that Fifthfiend was playing, so I wondered what kind of match he was in.

2fort

32 player

Instant respawn

My reaction was something like this...

I got on and saw WanderingGod was on and went to see what he was playing and got "PASSWORD PROTECTED FUCK YOU" so I decided to go practice sniping on a shitserver.

I was spectating a PUG game. (Pick Up Game. Informative video. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fABTvm2E87g)

Anyway, I actually like 2fort (if the teams are small and they limit to 2 engineers.)

I usually avoid 32 player servers because it usually means 3+ Engineers on the payload maps I like to play. (I like playing Engie myself, but even I know at a certain point, it becomes a pain to deal with.)

But really, instant respawn is something I avoid because it makes it entirely too difficult to actually get the objective done.

Adding it together... Well it seemed like a fail server. Honestly I just thought Fifth was doing it for poops and giggles. (Practice is good too.)

And people way cooler than you fuckers.

Seriously, 2f2f is where I go when I don't want to play with you guys. Or rather, playing with you guys is what I do when 2f2f is full.

At least I ain't playing on furry servers like some of the people on this forum.

Well I was having fun right up until I got banned for trying to play a sound clip of Sokka saying "Alright men, ready our defenses. The Fire Nation could be on our shores at any moment.
-"But I really gotta..."
"And NO POTTY BREAKS"

Leave it to Fifth to pick a place run by uptight jerkfaces. Anyway, hope you guys have fun.

The Wandering God

EDIT: For clarification, it was only playing for like a couple of seconds. (It's about 15 seconds total.) And I wasn't even warned first. I guess I should have read the rules a little more carefully, but not even a warning or even just a kick?

Well, gee, thanks for taking the other guys side, dissing me, and being elitists. Obviously what I did was SO FUCKING BAD that I instantly deserved to become a pariah. I guess it makes sense for the little time I actually was there, you stuck a knife in my back.

Nuklear Power Forums: We only want to hang out with you until you do something we disagree with. If I sound angry, bitter, or hurt, it's only because I actually am.

To be fair.

Sound macros are really fucking annoying.

And I mean that as in I'm not one of the people who play with their volume set to have voices very loud, but I do know people like that.

And to them, what is normally the relatively quiet sound of people talking turning into the loud roar of a sound file can be devastating.

To be fair in the other direction, Hexxy deciding to put up his little chat log with Fifth about it was pretty damned uncalled for. To be fair in the other, other direction, TWG was also the first one to make some sort of dumb server dick-measurement post, which Hexxy decided to jump in on as well, so really you're both being kind of annoying and I wish the two of you would cool it a bit already.

This is a thread for NPF-related TF2 meetup arranging, and making posts that encourage other NPFers to not play with you is ultimately counterproductive. Though admittedly helpful in other respects.

Anyway those Steel matches were a hoot. Rocketjumping over the A-point wall to rain death down on people who think they're coming up under cover may actually be my favorite thing ever although it would help if my soldiering weren't so miss-tastically mediocre.

Also re: offense I don't know how in the hell we ended up trying to soldier-cap E but as retarded ways to lose go it was pretty tops.
