Krazy Brian, once claiming it'd end in '08. Can we assume that 8BT will end before '09 is over instead?

considering the current rhythm and pace it could just as well enter into 2010. There is no lack of things to write about and 8-bit is not a very fast paced comic

But it's the final battle against Sarda! Surely the end is nigh! /sarcasm

What are you guys talking about? 8BT ended in 2008 as promised.
You didn't fall for those ongoing practical joke comics, did you? Because that would be pretty pathetic. They aren't even very convincing.

Nope. As we've seen previously, 8Bit Theater likes to play jokes on its readers and parody RPG things. As we well know, a popular strategy and plot twist in an RPG is to have you confront the previous main baddy about halfway through the game, and then introduce the real enemy. The real enemy then becomes the main conflict for the last 1/2 or 1/3 of the game.
This has happened twice already. Once is the initial confrontation with Garland where Chaos was revealed to be the primary conflict. However, because that was at the very beginning of the story, it serves as more of an introduction to the setting than an actual plot twist.
The second time is with this reveal of Sarda. The significance and details behind this reveal should be convincing evidence that we are dealing with an example of the aforementioned trope.
In other words, y'all betta saddle up for anotha 500~1000 comics.

My overly-specific prediction is that 8-Bit will end in March or April of 2010.
This is the last dungeon of the game, after all. It's also the longest dungeon of the game. Major stuff is happening. For the first time, we've got an Unspoken Plan. This is ending soon.
But not too soon. I know this comic.

We all know this comic. I'm not in a rush for it to suddenly end either. I'd like to see what happens AFTER all of this is over. Through Brian. The other guy's Onion Kid based 8-Bit hasn't made me chuckle even once yet. >_>

He's only done 4 comics so far. Tactics & I are reading it. Could be cool.

8-Bit Theater? End? Yeah, sure. I think we all know that Brian is going to keep milking this not-cash cow for all the un-dollars he can get.

I'm sure Brian could paper every surface of his home with all the un-dollars he gets from this thing.

I mean, he's got, like, tens of thousands of un-dollars, right? Maybe more? He should start giving us some of his undollars! We're his fans, dangit! We made him what he is! He owes us! Here that, Brian? We fans demand your undollars! Half of them!
