So yes, another day, another discussion thread. Yeah so I am currently waiting on people to post right now, and I noticed that its slowing down, so I want to go ahead and ask me players, is there anything I can do to spice things up for yall or is real life just getting in the way with the holidays coming up and all?

It getting near exams and turkey break. Professors feel the need to squeeze in stuff so we don't all forget important stuff during our holiday ritual fattening.
Pyros also playing Left 4 Dead 2 demo and complementary Half life mod They Hunger.

I'm running around taking care of pregnant wife, work and dealing with the fact in 1 month or so I'm going to have a baby and trying to get things prepared for that so when she comes we have enough supplies we wont be running out every 2 days to get more. So yeah, life's kickin me in the nurtz for time right now.

Aaaand finally I am posted! Strangely it took a not-insignicifant amount of alcahol to acheive this result.
And my new weapon is revealed, probably to dissapointing results, but it was the best I could come up with that made enough sense for me to get a hold of it in the first place. Still, I also have a secret item remaining, which is likely to come into play very shortly.

Shaky internets for me right now. Power supply in my computer is currently going bonkers and needs replacement. Should be done by sometime this week and I'll be stable again. Also thanksgiving dinners (like a bajillion) have slowed me down and put me in a small form of hibernation. Hopefully with work starting back up tomorrow I'll be able to get things rolling again. There are some people I would have liked to post post, but it doesn't really matter now, best to keep things moving.

Will nap today, print out $30 in papers tomorrow to turn in Tuesday, and build final schedule for the rest of the school year.
Maybe post later, after scratching post is repaired after extreme levels of stress. And after I stop playing with the Smule instruments apps on Iphone.

12-02-2009, 12:59 AM
Oh please. It'd be gimmick infringement if ThadCo never actually produced anything and was an entirely vapor-filled concept that could be safely discarded. This is not the case. ThadCo actually procures a line of drinks, each one more hazardous to your health than the last one. ThadCo is also responsible for a line of high-energy guns, but that's the only information you get about that for free.
Oh, and in case it wasn't blatantly obvious: THERE IS NO DEATHWISH, ONLY THADCO. *Turns off the Zuul voice* The Deathwish is dead now, this new skyscraper is my modus transportation. It's a bit more energy efficient than the last model, as it can fully shift in and out of realities a few times a day. But if it shifts too often...well, it'll overload itself. Not in any sort of exploding way, I assure you. It'll just take a few minutes (hours, maybe a day) to charge its batteries back up.
There is a cloning bank, but it's smaller now, so if death happens in rapid enough succession, I'll be out for longer and longer. And there's a medical bay as well, for those injuries that DON'T result in death! What a concept!
ThadCo does employ security grunts from the nearby surroundings, but housing is a matter that the grunts take care of. Not that security should be much of a matter anyways, what with the secret alloy in the structure of the building, along with the retina, palm, and DNA scans one has to submit to in order to enter.
And in case it wasn't blatantly obvious, ALAN also lives and maintains the bloody building.
...I think I hit everything...

And the milk has gone sour. Not the right sour either. Going to chill for a bit and if anyone finds the head they can take it for a ride and it shall talk, but not be very useful elsewise. I'd prefer the possibility for the box to have the body finished pm'd rather than automatically done so I can shove it in there when it feels more suitable to the character. I'll be keeping an eye on it though, and that is all.

The reaction when I saw your name was far too ecstatic for my own good. I literally feel completely idiotic to quite a severe level. On the upside welcome back.
Elsewhere, but if you sell harmful drinks, particularly with no prior fans willing to try it(especially considering the sordid reputation of the namesake) you are more likely to see an utter failure in the first news reports than a full sales explosion with no connections drawn to the terrible side effects.
Also have you been paying attention? We are the Avatars, we don't buy weapons, we TAKE weapons. Or make them. Gifts are cool too.

I would change it, because there is potential that I just destroyed the ThadCo. building, but I decided it's funnier this way. It's ambiguous to, so there's a chance that it wasn't Thadius's.

Y'see Thadius, consumers will go back to a product that not only tastes delicious, but won't make them vomit out their intestines and grow extra eyes. Just like Overcast said.
It takes about five times as much cash and effort to attract new customers than it does to retain old ones. And if you have a lot of pissed off former customers, well, you're screwed. Branding is entirely based around perceived quality!
And for the guns, I think I will go to one of the many other manufacturers of high energy weapons who are more than happy to show off their product to me. You see, to sell a product you need to tell people about it.
This isn't rocket science!

At what point did my character give the impression that he was a raving mad lunatic who suffers from episodes? RP Nin's brand of crazy doesn't give him hallucinations, it's the kind that compels him to jump into dangerous situations and beat the hell out of people who he perceives to be bad guys(Usually the people pointing guns at him).

If you don't try to hold your breath, exposure to space for half a minute or so is unlikely to produce permanent injury. Holding your breath is likely to damage your lungs, something scuba divers have to watch out for when ascending, and you'll have eardrum trouble if your Eustachian tubes are badly plugged up
Actually seems pretty spot on to me. Plus you went from normal earth preasure to 0 presure and back again with no preperation. That does some nasty things to the body, though I'd have to ask my father the scuba diver for details. Quite possibly it'd do nothing in those sorts of timeframe.

The Box was in the air because Bard threw it. The Box had not yet impacted with the droid. As the Box is an important part of my character I believe I have a right to have some control of the situation around him, and just as you cannot use a throwing coin that has been thrown until it has completed its battle phase you cannot say that my Box is on the ground until it has made his attempt to hit. Second, the Box is made of the awkward things that make anything that Overcast does possible. It is functionally awkward with most other things because it is literally fundamentally different to everything else in the universe and resists integration with it. That is why it cannot be destroyed, because it cannot be manipulated by anything other than Overcast. You can try tossing the Box when it is your turn, but charging it will just end with a waste of energy like trying to charge electricity into ceramics in a vacuum.
Edit it, or I will make him too heavy to pick up even if he does eventually meet the ground.

Hmm, I'm trying to cook up a plan for cutting to the heart of the problem and directly assaulting the alien mothership.
Artist's impression. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaAKKfZVSWw&feature=PlayList&p=A7BBC8B0F76CBC47&index=90)
I doubt we'll have enough time for spacecraft, so instead I'm thinking we should strap jet engines to dragons and then ride them into space.
The thing I'm not quite as happy about is I'd love to have a specific use for everyone, but some I haven't hit on a non-generic role yet. So yeah, what might people be able to contribute to a crazy plan like this?
We'd have to make a stockpile of offensive moves to smash through any defences in our way. For example, making some bigass attacks and getting Steel to freeze them in time to give us a one shot firepower boost.
Defensively, there's also handy things like use of magic to make a lot of ice. A lot of boulders means more targets for the mothership to shoot at, since I'm sure we'll be flying into the teeth of outrageous beam spam.

Technically speaking, I could survive in vaccuum, if I pushed my air powers to breaking point, and could probably keep a couple of others alive as well if I created a big enough air bubble, but the problems I'd face are, 1) I'd have no ability to create momentum, 2) I'd be unable to provide fire-support and 3) I'd need a huge push to break atmo in the first place (gravity's a bitch!).
But I could at least keep some peoples alive until we breach the hull.
Overcast
12-16-2009, 11:46 AM
Overcast could survive in a vacuum because of his shirt. In space he should be able to survive both severe temperature loss and being hit by distant radiation because he is wearing clothes. Unfortunately I am unsure about how he would react to depressurization, his clothes are strong enough to stop radiation and keep him warm but stopping that might require he have some special anatomy or a secret onesie underneath it all that regulates stuff like that.
Anyway I call Kirby.

So, uh, my hiatus is over, maybe! IC, is there room for another people, or should I wait for the next one?

Return of Tank Shyria! Maybe fire will have more effect when it's wrapped around 600 pounds of asphalt and concrete.
Also, I'd like to apologise to Hawk and Thad for almost making them into Chicken McNuggets. We cool?

Bailey

Right-o!
Name: Bailey Motte, AKA Baileybob, AKA Bailey Matutine, AKA Robert Matthew Bailey
Appearance: Bailey usually stands at 5'2, although he also likes being microscopic or three stories tall. Normally sporting leonine features, his mane doubles the size of his head. The one thing he rarely changes is his eyes, which are a solid olive except for the small myrtle tree symbols which replace his pupils.
Abilities:
Fae qualities: Bailey can feed on the imagination of those around him and use it as fuel. Unfortunately, he is highly allergic to cold iron. Bailey is also susceptible to the effects of certain echoes, but as his true name has long been lost to time, he is less easy to pin with such things than he might be.
Master Shapeshifter: Bailey's power primarily takes form in allowing him to change himself with practically no limit.
Advanced Biology: Bailey has taken advantage of his shapeshifting abilities to give himself, among other things, a binary circulatory system making use of copper instead of iron, an improved latticework rib cage, Grade 5 Titanium Alloy bones, and a respiratory system making use of parabronchi and air sacs instead of alveoli and a diaphragm. This all results in him being much tougher and more capable of sustained activity than he would be otherwise.
Spring Affinity: Bailey, in addition to his shapeshifting powers, can draw upon the dominion of dawn. Most powerful from the half hour before to the half hour after sunrise, and during the day of the vernal equinox, the dominion of dawn enables magic related to senses, time, the body, the future, healing, purity, earth, controlling weather, copper, and the color green.
Equipment:
Sleeveless Trenchcoat of Awesomeness: Just about anything can be drawn from the various pockets of this trenchcoat. Due to its magical nature, anything that can fit through any of the openings can eventually be pulled out, given enough time. The vast amount of available stuff makes getting ahold of any one desired thing an iffy proposition.
Prefered method of revive: By drawing upon the imaginations of those around the world, Bailey can eventually shapeshift from a dead person into an alive person.
Misc: Bailey's nature as a pooka forces him to lie constantly, unless the subject is incredibly important. Strangely, this somehow seems to encourage people to trust him with their secrets.

So I've found a computer that works in the cold dark place that is my parents house. Coming home for christmass has it's drawbacks. But also food! Anyways, expect me to be kinda infrequent untill I get back to my home computer.

Okay, so anyone who takes a furian pill gains these ablities:
Furian Toughness: You gain the ability to survive when you shouldn't. As long as the energy holds out, you find you cannot die. Your body will be torn and damaged, but it will be just a thought in the back of your mind.
Furian Body: Your speed and strength are also increased incredibly. The amount is based on how physically fit your body was, but even a person that couldn't even lift a feather could now toss a car one handed. People that could tear steel gurders barehanded.. well you might want to watch out for them now.
Furian Mana: You put everything you can into an attack, exhausting your energy completely. Then after the attack, its still all there. You have what feels like a limitless supply of mana and energy to use. You can only channel so much, and you don't really have a way to measure it, but its there.
As a note, the energy will run out after a while, but I'll tell you when.

... What time of day is it right now, anyways?
I need to know so I know how much energy I can channel at once and how efficiently I can use the power.

Well crap, my capacity is low and it's going to be getting lower for the next three hours.
Okay, my magical assistance is going to be highly questionable. I'm going to be needing to stack three areas of focus on every spell in order to be magically useful.
Oh well, at least my shapeshifting is unaffected, and I should continue to be a good healer, since I can stack in body and purity on practically every healing attempt, and a good many of them I can stack in time and future.
Not that we really need a healer right now, if everybody takes one of those pills.

Post is possibly temporary. Though I will be off for two months so I figured this was a good enough way to do it. If I get any notable corrections between now and noon tomorrow I'll change it up a bit. Either way it has to be capable of explaining him out of the current storyline. Later all.

I am. Just had stuff drop in me lap, so I've been preoccupied lately. I've been meaning to post but everytime I sit down to do it, I just grow tired and collapse in a heap of sleep.
If you are curious sort who want to know why, I'm working a job where I am getting about 60 hours a week. Tech support for a software company that provides a tax program, so tax season, huge loads, get seasonals like me to help out. Good pay, crazy hours, though man its tiring work.
Sunday I have off, plan to sit down and post that day.

Glad to be of service Inbred.
A delayed post on my behalf, especially seeing there were surprisingly few attacks to handle on the killbot. I'd hoped to get it posted yesterday. Please tell me if I forgot someone. Nin, I should hopefully have a response to you up tomorrow.
Hmm, Arhra V is ridiculously broken with infinite energy and endurance. Fury Pills allow ludicrous attack spam, time machine removes lag between attacks! Then again, the pills seem to make everyone broken so I guess I should not be surprised!
Also, yes, Arhra V really does believe the pills only constitute a 10% power boost. Although given the whole screaming maniac thing, she is, perhaps, not to be trusted.
I'm... less certain what came over her with regard to AB.
I am blaming the angry pills for all of this.
To make a few facts clear about them, a single pill will take about five weeks to be fully purged from someone's system, with the power boost from them halving about every ten days. The effect of the pills is exponential, so multiple dosages are pretty impressive and the maximium one person can probably take is three or four.

Oh its totally a (insert rude gesture here) but I am the gm damnit, if I want to (insert rude gesture here) I'm going to (insert rude gesture here). Also, it gets me one step closer to finishing this avvy anyway. Arhra is still going to handle the battles up to the point I am ready to take full control back. I may randomly post to keep the story going, or to introduce new enemies to Arhra to use.

How about instead we build a giant arm chair and dragon-sized space helmet, that way we can strap the chair on to the rocket-ship and Shyria can ride outside. It would serve no purpose whatsoever and probably slow us down, but we would have a dragon riding on top of our spaceship and that's an opportunity that only comes along once a couple RPs!
