Hello members of NPF, according to that box on the top right, it's been 4 years since I last posted. Anyways I have a problem with my computer, and I came to some of the smartest nerds for help.

I'm having problems with my computer getting windows 7 to throw games into a windowed mode for me to play. While I have heard of issues getting games to play in Fullscreen, this is not my problem. I do NOT want fullscreen. I want to throw games into a windowed mode so I can play my games and browse the web and chat w/e. Plus my monitor is so huge, stretching an old game out on it looks silly.

Things you might like to know.
It's windows 7, obviously.
It was made by Dell.
I have an Nivida GTS 240
And I'm using a HP Monitor

Any help provided would be appreciated. However it is likely that I'm just tired and overlooking something.

What games are you playing? Most of the newer games include a window mode under the video settings. If it's an older game, you could try right clicking on the icon and adding -w after the last quotation mark in the path. Don't forget to put a space between them!

EDIT: Ex:"C:\Games\Diablo II\Diablo II.exe" -w

And there are some that never really had the option built in but can be made to use a window via DXWnd (any "official" site it once had appears to have been taken down, but you can find it to download) if it is a DirectX-capable game.

Well, I'm willing to admit to my mistake of leaving out the space yesterday. Sometimes the problems have the simplest mistakes.

However while this fixes the problem, it only does it for some games. For instance. Diablo II, fixed. Warcraft III Frozen Throne, not fixed.* And I haven't tried playing Starcraft yet, we have 3 CD keys floating around and I need to see which one I can use to play online.

Yes, we're talking older games.

*As I was typing this I realized I had to type out -window

Thanks for your help guys.

Ah yeah, forgot about -window for warcraft. Glad the problem was fixed.
