The alternate title was Bubble-DUMB but I felt that might have given away too much (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2009/12/15/episode-1204-chew-on-that/).

Heh. Heheh. Big Red.
This may be the single strangest 8-Bit Theater comic ever made. Even stranger than the goat/llama thing.

I am going to overanalyze what is almost certainly just an amusing joke by bringing up that Fighter really likes gum. (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2004/06/03/episode-424-sacrificial-rights/)

So Fighter is going to use a Gum Sword to beat Chaos?
>_>
Oh Who am I kidding?! This is Fighter! He could beat Chaos with a stick if he wanted to. :P

seems like in the past 2 comics Fighter remembered how to hold his sword. The sidequests must be working. Now if only he can use it without injuring himself again

Gum humor made my brain hurt.
Thanks :D
"harm evil people who try to wield them"? I totally sort of called it (or something similar). (http://forum.nuklearpower.com/showpost.php?p=996215&postcount=19) :p
He he he, Trident :D

We all called it, It was obvious. But it doesn't make it any less funny.

Basically Fighter answers his own question using a big tough guy voice because he's imitating the blacksmith of heaven that he doesn't necessarily know he just made up. This is represented visually with panels featuring this alleged divine craftsman.

Today's "gum humor" made me laugh harder than ever before at 8bit. Puns = win, but only if they are about gum.

Well, to make puns about gum requires a lot of gumption, otherwise you're biting off more than you can chew.

Fighter is so brilliant. He just throws everybody's mind for a loop whenever he feels like it.
I wish I could manipulate evil warriors like that.
I wish I could find some evil warriors to practice on.

You know that the more we discuss something the more right it is. Look at how 434 turned out after years of forum discussion. I'm just waiting for Black Belt to come back now.

True.
But if that were to actually happen, its effect would be very similar to a certain miscarriage from a certain webcomic.
Really? Black Belt coming back would be akin to a miscarriage?

Also, I never liked Black Belt.

Yeah we certainly discussed 434 being a decoy to distract everyone from Sarda and his young self a whole lot.

I don't think Red Mage is evil. The weapons shouldn't hurt him. He should be able to wield them just fine. Red Mage isn't a bad guy, but he always seems to be lumped into that category.

Good or neutral guys don't usually create crimes against nature. (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2006/03/25/episode-677-step-one/) Even Black Mage seems to know this. (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2006/04/11/episode-683-pimp-my-bird/)

If you don't think Red Mage is evil then you need to go back, reread the comic and pay attention this time. He has no regard for life or the safety of others. He violates and mutilates as he's fit. He actively engages in many crimes, including theft and murder. He's actively working towards the poitn where they will just split the world into quarters and ruin each section as they see fit.
He's on a quest for power, and to hell with everything else.

Because killing and backstabbing on the path to power and glory in an attempt to overthrow the gods themselves and destroy the world only to remake it how you want is the nicest and more justifiable thing ever.

Red Mage is only not evil if you're using Black Mage as a baseline.

We knew Thief was evil since the moment appeared, whichever comic that was, and we knew that rm intercepted the 4th member slot, puching out the only truly intelligent (questionably intelligent) and holy char in the story, wm, which isn't exactly healthy.
In fact, I think that's the best description around for RMs alignment: Unhealthy.

and Black Mage is evil incarnate. He pulled a FF2, has hios own unique spell that destroys love, AND attempted to serve Chaos, the antagonist of the entire series! (and FF1)
