It's pointless question time again y'all!
You don't have to be particularly specific (you can just say 'vodka' if you don't have a particular favourite kind of vodka).
Me? I'm a pretentious, smug, elitist, snobby, patronising real ale drinker.
Got a pint of Hobgoblin with me right now and it's going down a treat.

Scotch, vodka, and rum are my personal favorites.
Though the other day I got my hands on some real Russian vodka. Made from potatoes instead of grains.

Lager.
When going for something stronger, Terva (tar) flavoured 21vol. alcoholic beverage is one of my favourites. A Fishermans friend (or "fisu") and a salmiakki drink are also my favourites.
Brian has broken me of cheap Vodka. Now if I can't http://www.ravensbarrow.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/10/Crystal%20Head%20Vodka.png then I'd rather now have any. As for my standard sitting around drink of choice, I find a http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r28/californiathug24/hypnotic.jpg rather enjoyable.

Whiskey, Jack or Jameson mostly. I'm also a fan of Rum

Anyone paying more than like five dollars a fifth for vodka is shitting money down the hole, it is the difference between drinking hairspray, and drinking much more expensive, marginally less disgusting hairspray.
Conversely anyone who drinks any scotch lesser than 12 years / single malt is an animal and should be caged somewhere they can't endanger decent human beings.

Jack Daniels is a great drink if you want a violent beating to figure somewhere in your evening plans.

Eh... I'll just have whatever soda you've got in the fridge.
If you've got some apple juice, that'd be okay too.

The interesting thing is how few people actually drink scotch in my locale and how cheap the good scotch can be. (If they even have it...)
Oh, and uh, scotch preferred, at least 10-12 year single malt, older is ideal. If I'm feeling smoky I'll go Laphroaig, if not, Glenlivet.
Whiskey if nothing else avails. Knob Creek isn't bad, Jameson's is a staple, and the cheaper stuff is gutter swill.
I actually find an entire bottle of champagne (or three) or a gallon jug of wine can get you through a night of drinking games quite well, but beer's just fine if there's a distraction.

People bringing up scotch means I should clarify: By whiskey I pretty much solely drink "scotch" which we just refer to as whiskey because who the fuck drinks other types.
Also I quite like blended malts. They can have a layer of subtlety that you don't always find in single malts. Though only if you get the better blends, vast majority are cheap and not very good.

I don't know that I have a favourite. I like a lot of drinks.
I suppose scotch is high up there, though, more consistently.

I don't drink anymore, but when I did, my favourite was a nice shot of whiskey. Nothing beats whisky or rye whisky! Or Whisky and Coke!
Edit: You buggers always talking about good drinks is going to drive me to drink!

Also it's no surprise that none of you children are cultured enough to appreciate the worth of a good Cognac.

I enjoy whiskey- Doctor McGillicutty's Fireball Whiskey, is what I pick up if I'm just going to see some friends and get casually plastered.
Around my closer friends, you'll likely find me with a Black Maple Hill, either A cheap 8 year bourbon, or, for the VERY special occasions (one of my friends becoming a father) I opened up an 18 year.
PS If you don't drink often and you come to visit me I will likely lie to your face and say the 8 year is an 18 year because you won't know the difference.

Since when did the status of 'cultured' become the equivalent of liking that horrible acidic burning feces you call Cognac all over your mouth?

ok, I drink alot of stuff. My favorite straight drink without mixing anything is probably gonna be Tenure Vodka. Its pretty fucking smooth and I don't feel like gagging by swishing it in my mouth or wanting to swallow it all down right away at once either.
However, there are several drinks I've learned to HATE drinking straight. Those drinks are J&B (scotch whisky blend) and Tito's (Vodka). J&B is alot like drinking rat piss while Tito's is like rat piss's younger, cleaner cousin, but still just as bad. I made the mistake of buying a huge bottle of J&B for my 21st birthday and well...there was well more than half still left after the fact and I spent the next month slowly drinking it one shot a night because I couldn't take anymore of it at a time. As for the Tito's, I split with one of my friends on it, tried it, hated it, my friend drank most of it, leaving me with about 3 shots of the stuff left and after a month of it just sitting there I just downed it all in one go with my roommate watching in amazement that I was able to keep that vulgar drink down.

Once upon a time I could not handle straight liquors, for I was but a feeble excuse for a man. However, since my dad has become unable to drink any of his rather sizeable scotch collection, I've learned to like scotch. Single malt is how men do it.
Mixed drinks, permitted, I find that a 1/3 spiced rum 1/3 root beer schnapps 1/3 carbonated cola of choice is incredibly delicious.

Am I a hopeless wimp for liking the occasional bottle of Hornsby's hard apple cider?
Probably. But damn, that stuff is nice. It's tasty, it goes down smooth and one bottle leaves me just a little warm 'n' happy inside.

I had a friend who hosted a party and had leftover alcohol he didn't want. When I gave him a ride the other day, he gave me some. Part of the bounty was a six-pack of Smirnoff Black Ice. You know what? It's not much different from many [US-brewed, at least] beers in terms of alcohol content, and it drinks like a soda. I've decided not to be ashamed to enjoy it.

I would rather drinking Balvenie than Glenlivet, sad to say. Highland Park 12 is a bit eh for me but the 18 is affordable and tasty. I love Laphroaig.

My drink of choice is Amaretto. It's smooth and just a little bit sweet. I could drink it anyday. And on the lighter, fruitier side, a Mikes Hard Cranberry Lemonade. I just love the stuff.

So, I have this friend of mine, actually he used to be my RA when I lived in residence, and he loves Manischewitz to death. He counted, and in the past two years he has drank more than 250 bottles of it. One time, at someone's little get together, he had drank a bottle (amongst a variety pack of shots and beers) and was absolutely hammered. There were two still on the desk. He declares "You guys can have some if you want," and leaves to pee. Everyone knows if he drinks more he is going to be sick, annoying and creepily hitting on everything that breathes. I close my hands around the bottles, and pass one to my buddy. Not a word is said, we just hang our heads, clink and pound them like men! After about 20 minutes we look at one another and say "You feel that, don't you?" "Yep. There it is." We drank so that he could not. It was a poor plan.
This same guy currently has 20 bottles of the accursed stuff in his basement and thinks he's running low.
