Consider it punishment for anyone who said they didn't want to see a King Steve comic and for anyone who said they DID want to see a King Steve comic. (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2009/12/19/episode-1206-the-royal-treatment/)

What in the...

I think this may just be THE most nonsensical episode of 8 Bit yet

Interesting! The next button isn't appearing for me on 1205. I'm sure that'll fix itself though.

I forgot about King Steve. Suddenly Chaos destroying all of existence gets a silver lining.

I think I called this one, strangely enough and in the means of how it was carried out leaves some questions for tuesday's episode that we'll probably never get answered, besides the part of how badly King Steve doesn't maintain his snow cone station

I've been staring at my computer for like ten minutes now. I'm waiting for the REAL comic to go up. Ha ha, I get the joke...right? Oh...

Damn you King Steve!

EnuoCale
12-19-2009, 01:36 AM
So... did king steve give them a hypercube?

Geminex
12-19-2009, 01:38 AM
Wwwwwweh?

I'd mention the word "meaningless filler", but
a) it has king steve in it and that makes it more meaningful than any comic without king steve
and
b) somehow, I'm sure this has relevance to the plot. Or maybe not.

The best part is that it actually makes perfect sense. It just shouldn't. And that distracts from what really makes no sense, that is: why the hell King Steve's there in the first place.

It's like prestidigitation, but with inanity instead of hands. I love that about 8-Bit Theater.

He has a point, there is a side inside. Why would it be called inside, if it didn't?

Si Civa
12-19-2009, 03:54 AM
What about the outside?

Double
12-19-2009, 04:17 AM
That should make it an 8-sided cube. Has the mighty King Steve truly made an error?

Pink Bison
12-19-2009, 04:17 AM
What about the outside?

It has six outsides.

Si Civa
12-19-2009, 04:46 AM
Nope. It only has two sides; the outside and the inside.

I personally feel that King Steve could easily be the protagonist of his very own web comic. And in a lot of respects, he is for he takes up a number of episodes himself.

But seeing King Steve, as he is today, meet up with the Light Warriors again I can't help but feel humbled. It is almost as if things have come full circle. And the circle has gotten a lot crazier ever since Gary failed at reclaiming the throne from the length of string.

2 things;
1. only 2 of them are there
2. Chaos. We know HE'S the final battle.

and one more thing...

disappointment would fit because we could end up seeing king steve with a snowcone instead
He definitely called it.

Oh come on, we all know these guys aren't a match for Chaos & they're doomed to failure. King Steve should be more than a match for the Light Warriors. I say bring it on.

As for them not all being together, Red Mage is on his way & I don't think Fighter will be too far behind.

BTW - Haven't laughed like this at a comic for some time.

Veho
12-19-2009, 09:38 AM
The stube will confuse and confound even Chaos, the same way drownball confused Sarda. And a drownball tournament held in a water stube (instead of sphere) would keep him befuddled indefinitely. Giving the LWs (or anyone else) enough time to gain enough power to destroy him.

Nightshine

...

It has built up to this: the endgame shop of all endgame shops.

EDIT: Logic error. It can't be a cube, since this is an 8 bit universe.

I'd say they are equally stupid. Only Fighter's sense of morals makes him less dangerous. Wasn't he called Lawful Stupid once? That would make King Steve Chaotic Stupid.

EDIT: Or Bikke.

He hit Sarda because he was meant to hit Sarda. Fate dictated it, there was nothing Sarda could do about it.

Obviously King Steve's GENIUS creation will be SO delicious that Chaos will decide not to destroy everything, or whatever it is he wants to do, just so he can eat the s'no-cone for all eternity....Until he finds out he's deathly allergic to s'no-cones and dies a horrible, agonizing death.

You know, I'm becoming more immune to TV Tropes.

After binging on it/spending tons of time going "New tab! New tab!", I've read most of the relevant articles to most stuff. I just mouseover links now and am all, "Aww, boring! I read that already!", and skip over them.

Quick question: Was King Steve driving a trailer?

Also, what's on the pictures above him? Cake? Various pastries?

(Or do I want to know what he sells?)

Meister
12-21-2009, 02:51 PM
Looks like burgers to me. But what King Steve advertises, what King Steve thinks he sells and what King Steve actually sells may be vastly different and strange things.

Didn't work for me.
Read almost every single darn article on that site and will STILL go back to all of them every now and then, just to check on Updates and one wheter some Jackass nice, helpful troper just undid my reasonable edit for completly brainless reasons was so nice to correct my balantly obvious mistakes. Ha... Ha...

However, lately, I had to abstain from TV tropes, mostly because of not owning Zelda:SpritTracks yet... and this godforsaken website already spoilered all of the Kingdom Hearts DS game to me. >< THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN! IN YOUR FACE, TV TROPES!!

There are probably people who consider "jokes" about 8-Bit Theater ending some day to be in bad taste. And that's why I assume the joke was calling your neutral post an awful joke.
Geez, I hope I explained someone else's joke right.

I don't get the "STube" thing. I mean, it's a seven-sided cube, not a seven-sided tube. Shouldn't it be a SCube? Or a Sube? Is it short for STupid cube?

Perhaps there's a reference being made I'm unaware of?

Correction, it is an Octube. The eighth side is the outside.

Genji
01-10-2010, 06:43 AM
That can't work, as the outside is already specified by the 6 other sides.

You can't define the inside as 6 though, it would create a universal paradox in the realm of 8-bit.

Btw: "He's got us there."
The fricking thing is hollow, thereby not filled with deliciousness, thereby truly worthy to be a King Steve Scam!
