Ok, so I found 20 Questions (http://www.20q.net/pflash/index_content.html) online and I chose the LHC. (http://lhc.web.cern.ch/lhc/) Well, the problem with a lot of the questions it is asking is that it isn't entirely specified or has not been tested, as well as a few that I just haven't done enough research to know for sure. Such as...

Is it used in a sport?
Does it break when dropped?
Is it used to carry people?
Is it black?
Can it be stolen?
Can you use it 24 hours a day?
Does it have lungs?
Can you jump on it?
Can it float?

Some of the guesses have been:
Spaceship
Merry-go-round
bonfire
dam
yacht
tram

And then the game gave up after not guessing the right thing after awhile. Obviously, the LHC may not actually be in the database, but at the same time I don't know enough about it to where I have probably been giving the wrong answers on a few questions.

So, anybody want to give it a shot, or have any other fun and interesting 20 Questions puzzles?

I got many of the questions in this weird mixture of finnish, english and chinese symbols. A lot of questions were hard for me to understand because of this. I was thinking of a guitar, it's first guess was a trumpet, so close-ish. Although with 20 questions that isn't too hard.

I did it!

Q22: Are you thinking of a particle accelerator?

It still lost, but hey.

It got cockatoo is 23 questions. Teddy bear in 24.

So it's not good at winning, but it is pretty good at getting there eventually.

It wasn't able to guess Star Destroyer.

It tried spaceship, but I felt that wasn't quite specific enough, and it was 24 questions in anyway.

Soldier -> Animal
Are you thinking of an Australian Shepard?
Are you thinking of a Microwave?
Are you thinking of a Laser Printer?
Are you thinking of a Photocopier?
Are you thinking of a Tugboat?

I tried out Star Destroyer too, this is what it asked around Q14

"is it found in space?" Yes
"Are you thinking of a tank?" sigh.

It got Godzilla at Q20, but not before guessing a demon at Q18, so I don't think it won that one either.

So far the closest I could get is "planet" for Mars and "jester" for Kefka.

Akinator (http://us.akinator.com/) is a bit more in-depth for this sort of thing, though it mostly only good for guessing people and characters.

I'm rather impressed with this. Instead of just saying "dog" it tries to guess the dog breed.

...Granted, I was thinking "Penis", but still...

It got Godzilla in under 20
It could'nt guess vagina or breast
( I was willing to allow either to be a victory.)
it did guess breastmilk, uvula, and womb
tsk tsk

It almost got penis when I tried it. It guessed urethra at one point, and it even asked if it was hot-dog shaped, but it never actually tried to guess penis.

Hot-dog shaped? Seriosly, that is one weird penis.

Hot-dog shaped? Seriosly, that is one weird penis.

A lot of people over here use "hot dog" for weiners instead of for a weiner in a bun with dressings. Annoys the hell out of me.

Stumped it with 'Degu'.

(It's a small, Chilean rodent)

Well, it got poo (Called it sewage, but that is close enough).

Its not that dumb then

I second the awesomeness of Akinator. It will own you.

I managed to stump it with 'paint brush' but I think very many of the questions leading closer to it were ambiguous.

I wonder how long it would take to guess Kevin Bacon...

It didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition.

To be fair, nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uprjmoSMJ-o)

Holy crap that thing is good. I've been trying to pick fairly obscure characters and its first actual guess is right every time.

I stumped it twice, with Gallantmon and Kamina. Other than that it's pretty good though.

I stumped him with Susanoo, but he was very close toward the end - he just couldn't get the right Japanese deity.

Edit: Damn, he got Corwin of Amber in very few questions. That's actually pretty damn impressive.

It got Ladd Russo without asking "Is your character batshit insane?" so I gotta give it props for that.

Akinator is creeping the living fuck out of me.

Get out of my mind you internet demon!

EDIT: It even got 8-bit Theater Black Mage...but not before guessing Richard from Looking For Group.

I trumped Akinator with Freud. 30 questions and it gave up.

Answer was wife...
Question #9, is it expensive?
Question #15, do you us it in public?
Question #20, Are you thinking of a tamagoyaki?
Question #24, would you give it as a gift?

Holy shit. I was thinking Delita and it worked.

...it got Quote from Cave Story...

That Akinator is amazing. It got Problem Sleuth, Beartato, Reginald (from Beartato), and pretty much every Metal Gear character I threw at it (even ones like Raikov and Johnny).

The only time I stumped it when it wasn't just because I didn't know the answers was for Marco from Animorphs. (although it got close with Cassie)

It's also fun to watch the "recent games" and see people you know and what they guess.

Mac, I saw what you guessed. It was Geno. :3

When you know how it works, it's not really surprising what it guesses at all.

It's also a lot easier to legitimately stump it.

Of course it's easy to stump. I find it more fun to lead it to the correct conclusion though.

I find it fun to see what I can stump it with; things it should, by all means, know.

I just stumped it with Hogarth Hughes (from The Iron Giant) and Mikey Walsh (from The Goonies).

Thought I would get it with Macavity (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XV6e65konHs), but Akinator figured it out after guessing Greebo the first time.

Solid Snake

Now I have you all to thank for addicting me to the Akinator.
It got Solid Snake with eleven guesses, that's pretty damn hardcore.
