View Full Version : Is There A Way I Can...
Is there a way I can set a default message there before I type out a response? Like, every "Post Response" box can have pre-set messages in it? I noticed some users like Synk and Invisible Queen type in colors, and was wondering if they type in "" every post or if that command is sitting there in the box every time it loads.

We type the tags as we type the post and/or use the edit tools after typing the post to format it every time. Well, I do. It's possible that some of the others may keep those codes in a text file and just paste them in prior to every post.
In any case, it just becomes part of the posting habit. Though in fairness there are a few posts here or there over time that I have to immediately edit 'cause I left it white and with the default font.

My question is: Why do you do it?

adds to the uniqueness of an individual in a world of text and innuendo.
So I guess if I want to claim this color I'm going to have to type out the color command every time?

Since I find the thread title so inspiring and I don't want to make a new thread just for that...
Is there a way to deactivate graphical smileys by default for all my posts?
I looked for it a while ago and couldn't seem to find it. Maybe I'm blind.
It's in the post editor, but I have to check it every time I notice an abominable picture smiley in one of my posts. It makes me shiver.

Yes, Seil and no, InsaneGenius. I looked for the same permanent feature and was unable to find it.
So is there some way we can add these then? Talk to Pierre or whomever?

Pierre's been AWOL for quite some time despite attempts to contact him regarding other issues so we're stuck until he ends up checking his email or something like that.

heh heh
This is also another thing I do in any post that I want to use ":)" or similar.

It's just that plain text smileys have more style in 99.9847 % of all cases
I had to cheat da system to get that smiley in my signature to be displayed as it is. Because you can't actually turn off picture smileys in sigs.
It's just that plain text smileys have more style in 99.9847 % of all cases Correct. Save for the... y'know, decimal. I'd go with something simpler, like 99%, or 99.9%. A nice figure like that.

I do enjoy the :( smiley we have here, though.
It's a good'n.

That's the 0.0153 %
But I think we could probably round it up to 100 %, so that will be 0 %
It'll be like doing the impossible. Only it got rounded up, so it doesn't count.
Don't know if I should've just made a new thread for this, but anyways...
Is there a way I can put text and/or text and pictures side by side instead of having them on separate lines? For instance, having the words in my signature next to the picture, instead of having the text below it? It's probably do-able already, I just don't know the proper thingy.

Instead of what it is now?

Usually it's as simple as just not including a line break after the IMG tag. But yours is a bit of a more complicated example where this won't work so I'd suggest just making a new picture that already includes the text and using that in your sig. Which is more or less how you already showed us how you want it to look, so most of the work's done.
Tried - doesn't seem to look as good, and you can't make out the words.

What, with the exact same image you used above (yeah okay the "exact same" only with the grey stripe to the left and the white line cropped)? That's odd.

A nice crisp png version, culled from a screenshot!

The file is too large, (needs to be 19.5KB, apparently) so I guess I'll stick with it as is.

It needs to be that size to be in a sig? Or to be hosted here or something? Because I'll leave it in my Dropbox if need be.
Working on shrinking the file. It doesn't need to be much smaller.
Edit: JPG!

Meets the size requirements, still looks pretty clear (though now it's easier to tell that the whole thing's an image).
Have we considered some sort of code to allow a table?
'nother edit:
GIF!

It looks pretty good and is tiny.
Neato! Much obliged.
I think the table thing will be implemented as the "Disable Emoticons" and the "Pre-Set Response" things are up.

We have now! Because I remember a few times where I wanted to make a list and thought, wow, tables would come in handy right now. Gimme a few days to look into it.
Same here. Tables would be neat.
