Like holy damn, those are awesome.
If I had money, I'd totally ask for a comission. Instead, I pass the buck to the rest of the forum.
Hey guys if you have money ask Matt for a comission because I have a sneaking suspicion that you won't be disappointed.

I thought the same thing when I saw these (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2010/01/06/red-white-and-robo/) (which you're most likely referring to).
Unfortunately I don't have any money to spare either. And no ideas for a decent comission.
He already did a commission for me. I almost feel like I ripped him off, what with how good it was.

I am totally ripping him off with every page of HIKYM. Don't tell him though.

He's been working on a commission for me, and let me just say, Matt's a wonderful artist but an even better human being -- he's been a pleasure to converse with, really receptive and communicative throughout the entire process, and he's handled the project with the utmost dignity and professionalism.
And of course, he's incredibly talented. (But y'all already knew that.)

To be honest, Matt's work is quite better than some of the stuff we see around in comics these days. I like how his characters can have Heroic Proportions but without looking ridiculous. It always look good.
However, this thread title was the third time i saw his name and read "Matt Pepperoni" and now i'm starting to feel bad about it
I think one of my favorite drawings that he's done was one he did of an older version of Chie from Persona 4. He pretty much nailed it.

You know whats weird? Yesterday, I was just thinking "I wonder when we're going to see that Red Mage wallpaper".

Oh, I've got an idea. But yeah, same trouble otherwise. Car insurance or commission... car insurance or commission... tough choice. :( But I can't drive a picture, no matter how awesome it looks or how many wheels are drawn in it.
Can't say anything bad about the work I've seen. It looks great. Is that Deborah in the second wallpaper? Yow! I'd be fooled. Not hard to see why red mage wears the mask for his male persona.

Awww, that means a lot, thanks :). I just wish I had more of yours done to show you. I'm getting there though! (note: it was an Email from Solid Snake that sorta got the ball rolling on the White Mage pic)
And thanks all for starting this thread! What a nice gesture :D

A good thing about working with someone you've been a fan of for so long (been reading 8-bit for about 8 years now) is that even though you might be getting ripped off it doesn't really feel like you're being ripped off. He lucked out :p
And the Persona 4 pic NonCon was referencing can be found here (http://exmile.deviantart.com/art/Chie-Snowfall-147430303).

Matt is both a cool dude and a great artist. Noncon got him to do the Bruce Lee dude we use on the Dojo. Also he's fun to have followed on Twitter.
I'm not going to say I do have a commission for him but I have a very specific commission I will have in the future.

Thanks :D
The dojo is a fun site, at least i was able to contribute something.
I was so happy when I saw his White Mage artwork, I made it my Wallpaper imediantly.
Just so... wonderful! T.T

These were awesome. Makes me wonder what 8-bit theater would look like drawn in this style.

Less terrible.

You wish. I'd just make the dialog and characters more awful to compensate.

By that I assume you mean you'd let the fans write it?

He could always go Megatokyo with his writing, y'know...

He'd turn it into Final Fantasy Mystic Quest.

Those are just ways to make it suck differently.

Sorry to break the combo, just had to join the original posters in drooling over Matt's art.
I already put the BM wallpaper on my husband's computer, so now I can put RM on mine so we can sort of match. And if I ever want to get a divorce, I could just set our computers up on the same desk and attempt the most unsexy re-enactment of CoM:CoL ever.

You could print them, and then cut them out and perform a little play with 'em :)

It has to be asked... How much is a commission Master Speroni?

I believe about one hundred American dollars. That is how much a commission costs. Yes.

Still worth it, though. Probably. Depends on your idea, but unless you have him draw a tree or a rock it'll be pretty good. And hell, even if you had him draw several toasters he'd still find a way to make them look like they were karate-chopping each other.
