The Alpha is going to be created from the platform of the complete 4.0 shadowrun, classic 400BP split into the standard 200stat, raised +qualitycap to 60 and -qualitycap to -40, everything else will be modded and templated to the BP system but not necessarily the Shadowrun world.

I'll be in talks with Meister on setting up how the forum advocates your character's Karma, which is essentially it's level, experience and all around awesomeness which can be spent however you want, money, power, women, personal development, ect.

I've not decided how many Alpha Testers we will have initially, but it's going to be minimum 4 and maximum 10, each Alpha tester is assured a custom (limited edition Alpha) graphic card for their character

Basically the end concept is that everyone interested has a card that can be used universally as both a VERY advanced version of a forum avatar, and can be used throughout any RP campaign, older members being generally more awesome as time goes on.

Think of it as the ultimate evolution of your avatar display picture.

As soon as we clear the game mechanics with the mods (and possibly Brian) we can move to beta which everyone is invited to.
The mechanics are still kind of up in the air right now, so the limited number of alpha testers is just for maximum damage control if the whole thing gets bombed.

Basically it's a hybrid of the NPF avatar, the forum game and the RP into one unifying system.

We still don't know what the mechanics are supposed to be. Sometime you gotta tell us exactly what you'd need us to do here.

However, from what we heard/extrapolated so far we're already pretty sure we want to keep roleplaying and forum gaming inside their dedicated sections and not involve the user profile in it, which probably includes the avatar but definitely includes reputation. One of the main concerns about this was how people would be able to opt out of a game that is connected to the forum infrastructure itself. And then there's the very basic question of whether a game like this wouldn't be better suited for its own dedicated forum where the game is the main purpose of having a forum.

Sorry if that shoots the entire idea down right away but so far that's the gist of it.

Whelp, unfortunately for everyone who's been looking forward to this, it ain't happening. Apart from all the other concerns we had, Brian doesn't want this integrated in his forum either.

Lev, sorry you went to all the trouble of organizing alpha, beta etc. test and detailing things for nothing, but at the same time, if you're planning something big like this it might be better to clear things with all the people in charge before going public.
