Remember Cotton Eye Joe? Of course not (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDdlHmzIdn8)

Anyway, the band that made this Rednex (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rednex) has decided that their newest single Devil's on the Loose (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_HlXG7w8sk) onto Pirate Bay. They made a huge Essay (http://rednexmusic.com/info/RednexSaysHowdyAtPirateBay_READ_NOW.pdf) about it. Sounds like the industry will slowly shift as copyright (http://torrentfreak.com/rednex-diss-record-labels-partner-with-the-pirate-bay-100107/) becomes more obsolete for musicians. Now to work on books, film, and games. Let's get them aboard for the shift!

Music and books are virtually free to produce. While expensive recording equipment etc are often used, in the end the final product is based more on the skills of the artists than anything else. Same goes for books. Movies, TV, and Games on the other hand, have massive production costs, and those industries would never survive without a good deal of revenue.

And by 'games' you mean like, state-of-the-art technical games. Many games could and are produced for very little and can still be fantastic (the growing Indie market comes to mind).

One can wage a war, but a war rages.

Haha, I actually thought he was talking about wages...people get for....copyrights? And the war for that is now on?

Yup. It's way better my way.

Yeah I was gonna say: one band out of millions that decides to make this step and it's just gotta be a shitty 90s eurodance group-with-a-theme who, call me a cynic, are probably at least half in it for reminding people they exist.
