Black Mage is also a helper. He just helps dark primordial gods that seek to destroy the world. But it's still help. (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2010/01/19/episode-1212-inventory-check/)

EVERY one of the light warrior's "solutions" to this problem has been suggested in this forum(most in the last comic thread i think).
Brian! Do you admit you read the forums so you wouldn't have to get creative in the process of making this comic?

So what does Chaos DO while waiting for them to come back? stand there patiently? Doesn't seem very chaotic of him.

Its just a name of a demon king,he doesnt have to personify chaos.

Why does BM just have to say that last sentence out loud?
It only gives Thief the opportunity to countersacrifice his life due to contractual values ...

I don't think that'll happen.
They all know, deep down, Black Mage only wants to be loved.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. It's a plan of fighter's that involves swords, so it must be sword chucks.

Well at least Black Mage is homicidal again. The balance of the world is restored (he was being too nice lately).

It's been a long time but I think it was when they were back on Bikke's boat.

What Fighter needs is Mage Chucks. He ties Red and Black Mages to his swords and lets loose a spinning storm of razor sharp magical death.

Wow, Black Mage's eyes continue to be the most amazing thing

Fighter probably wants to attack the legendary weapons onto more mundane, non-evil-burning weapons so they can all wield modified sword chucks, with their usual weapons as the connecting piece, or something

He could, uh, find some way to make contact fire sword chucks.
That would be infinitely more ridiculous than regular ones, since he could get away with using 2 sets of 2 (8 swords total) or 3 sets of 2 (12 swords total, but only if he could keep a set in the air at any given time).

http://www.trickconcepts.com/Fire-Contact-Sword-P182C12.aspx

I couldn't find a good youtube of it, basically you don't even hold these, they just kind of roll across you.. think of devil sticks except your arms are the held sticks and the sword is the middle one with the leather flaps and junk.

See that skinny sword he's holding? I think that's Masamune. The orange sword is the Sunblade that Red Mage could use if he was of proper alignment, the blue one is Excalibur.

He's holding the 3 best swords in FF1.:gonk:

And yet Thief has no sword?

I say Black Mage, realizing that the world is fucked unless he does otherwise, syphons all the love in the world and fires the Ultimate Hadoken, propelling Fighter, Thief, and Red Mage at Chaos.

I think he wants to go out of his way to prove that all of our ideas would spectacularly fail if the Light Warriors actually tried any of them. The one I remember in particular was people talking about how Chaos couldn't win because the timeline says he didn't (which Red Mage brought up in-universe (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2009/10/17/episode-1185-paradox/)). His last line in that comic seemed directed at those people in particular.

PS Brian hates us.

They could also just make chaos touch those weapons.
I mean if BM gets aflame imagine how it would burn for someone as evil as chaos.

You gotta respect a writer who does an entire comic just for that.

I'm surprised Red Mage has an attention span sufficient to remember that far back.

Also, something tells me that BM's plan isn't going to work. Probably because he tried something similar previously (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2009/10/06/episode-1181-of-loyalty/)...

I wondered about that. Is Hell part of this universe (and will it be destroyed along with the rest of it)? But either way, Chaos said he'd "lock the souls of all living things on this plane in the eternal torment" or some such. BM would have to kill himself before that happens, if he wants to try the Hell coup again. And I can't see BM killing himself.

I can, however, see the other LWs trying to kill him with that same plan in mind (to his feeble semi-articulated protests).

I didn't mean to hide. I meant to use that power to subjugate Chaos.

I know. But again, to get to Hell and regain that power he'd have to die. That means either by killing himself, or have someone else kill him. Chaos isn't planning on killing him (as such; he has something much more exotic in mind), I can't see him killing himself, so the only alternative is WM (MIA ATM), or the other LWs.

maybe THAT'S why he told them about planning to sacrifice them to Chaos anyway? so they'd kill him, and it'd be Lich all over again from there on.

He's been trying to kill them for ocer a thousand strips now. They all, aside from Fighter, realize this.

Black Mage can't take over hell again because the fiends are all back there. And because Brian doesn't repeat plot points.

"... fight him and die immediately."

This might be foreshadowing the sudden and anticlimactic ending of the comic.

And I'm not sure BM's sacrifice to Chaos will operate the same way this time. I'm thinking it's a new day. It's time for him to say an evil prayer and hadouken his comrades.

In that case I don't suppose you remember the quite substantial (and completely real and not made up on the spot) sum of money you owe me? I knew you'd try to weasel your way out of paying it back but this is just low.
