View Full Version : #1216: "Man, why do you even have to ask?"

You can always rely on Fighter to help. (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2010/02/02/episode-1216-almost-the-right-idea/) There's just no telling which party he'll end up helping.

My God! Red Mage and Chaos switched speech bubble colors! Clearly a major clue! /sarcasm

Why is Redmage talking with Chaos's color bubble? 0_o

This supports my theory that ventriloquism is a malevolent practise.

Hobo Phoenix

Don't even try to go back and fix it either! I've already saved the incorrect one! HAHAHA! Villainy.

A Zarkin' Frood
02-02-2010, 11:30 AM
Oh no, someone saved it. That definitely makes it canon.

It may just be the fact that Red Mage can be a convincing voice actor, though.

Hobo Phoenix
02-02-2010, 11:45 AM
Actually, maybe it was deliberate. Chaos's 'scary' is that he can randomly possess others, and has done so with RM.

BloodyMage
02-02-2010, 11:51 AM
I'm assuming that it's Chaos doing the whole multi dimensional thing he was just talking about. And he did ask if Fighter wanted to see scary. I'd say showing the light warriors that he knew exactly what they were thinking and doing before they even implemented the plan was a pretty sound way of doing so. I'm not even sure if it was a possession. I think the voice is just coming from thin air.

Genji
02-02-2010, 11:52 AM
I thought so too, if so, Chaos knew about their plan anyway ... and comes to bloat about it

Faythoffenrir

You mean gloat? Anyway, I think Chaos is going to become that llama thing.

Got a weird error on my end. I can get to the page easily, but the image itself won't load. It's just a line of text that reads "Almost The Right Idea"

I got that just a second ago, but now it works. Try again. The pure image URL just in case: http://www.nuklearpower.com/comics/8-bit-theater/100202.png

Okay, Chaos might just be my new favorite character.

Locke cole

Works now.

"yeah, no, that's scary. I just thought, I dunno, you'd be scary."

Pffft.

And I love how cordial Chaos is being towards Fighter.

Hobo Phoenix
02-02-2010, 12:08 PM
Wait, I thought Fighter spreading his stupid to Chaos WAS the plan? So... isn't it all going according to plan right now? Stage 1 at least, is 'Point Fighter at Chaos'.

Edit: Regarding FaythofFenrir's post, I'll be very disappointed if we never see the Llama again. And Charlie the black-hole cat's guest appearance. He will eat Chaos, you see.

And it appears that Fighter is engaging Stage 2F: "Provoke Chaos into doing something 'scary'. Which is likely to be a wanton act of apocalypse."

Eh, what can he do? Fighter will be too stupid to be aware that existence has been obliterated, and thus existence will continue to exist thanks to him.

OR this is the part where Fighter removes the obfuscating stupidity veil and one-shots Chaos, revealing that every event in the strip was put into motion by him.

Fighters actions have no basis in reality.
He is the only one who can out-chaos Chaos.

If this were to happen, my will to live would be destroyed. It is the most cliche thing Brian could do, and thus the least expected, except for the fact that this comic loves to jerk you around and then use the cliche straight, instead of averting it. So if that happens, Brian, I will crawl into a hole and not come out...oh wait I do that now!

So Sarda is also Vargus now? Chaos said that he was a multi-dimensional demon head that grew out of the neck of his mentor and secret worst enemy

Sarda mentored the warriors into their adventures and power (gave them the path to new classes too), but he was also their worst enemy

I'm surprised the cast didn't break into laughter.

Well, I wish I could say I didn't expect massive failure from this "plan" of theirs... but then I'd be lying.

Also, on an unrelated note, who died and gave Lev's name a backdrop?

Not until you said it. But now I do. Scrap my Llama idea from earlier. Or combine them...

Or maybe he will to reveal to Fighter, Fighter's true idenity...

Fighter's worst nightmare was a pair of empty sheaths. Thinking along those lines, what could Chaos show Fighter to really scare him? What is the complete opposite of a sword? A ploughshare? But ploughshares can be forged into swords. A ploughshare made of sponge? A ball of air?

a rod. Fighter and BM are opposites, and rods are the weapons of some Black Mages if they cannot find sufficient stabbin' weapons.

Chaos is out of his league. Fighter's too dumb to be scared, unless there's a spider around. Anything to do with Fighter is a matter of luck and, erm, Chaos theory. Who knows what emotions will randomly trigger.

Fighter might stupid him into giving the LWs another day to plan

I picture Chaos briefly depositing Fighter into a dimension where he is the savior of the world, free to be a hero as much as he wants, yet when he requests his sword, he gets a puzzled reaction regarding what this 'sword' thing is that he speaks of.

Sounds like people are getting anxious that I haven't posted a video up.

I should do it soon, the air is only going to get hotter and I'm not even sure if the current model is usable in air over 10celcius.

Which would backfre when he would then get to invent the sword.

Though he'd probably freak when he realizes Black Mage isn't there. Actually, the wrst thing Chaos could d to Fighter would probably be to force him to relive Black Mage's death over and over and over.

Of course we want to prolong the anticlimax. What else would you guys have to make weird theories about every day? It's not like you get extra-dimesional demon heads sprouting out of people's bodies in HIKYM.

I'd like to see at least six straight comics of Fighter pulling a Guybrush Theepwod and getting Chaos to talk about all sorts of unrelated idiotic things.

Who knows what will defeat Chaos. 8 bit theater has so many potential checkov's guns and brick jokes that it could be anything.

Stube
Armoire of Invinciblity
White Mage
Queen Jayne
Bahamut
ect.
