Why does Black Mage even try to pretend like he's not out to destroy everything? (http://www.nuklearpower.com/2010/02/09/episode-1218-sympathy-for-the-devil/)

DUN DUN DUN...

Black Mage is EVIL?

ZOMG!?!?

BTW, 8 bit theater is the best thing ever. Always makes me laugh.

BloodyMage

is 'destry' an elven word or something?

Is this the real plan by the way? I mean, the universe hates BM and never lets him succeed, so having him help Chaos pretty much assures his failure.

Hey thanks Brian, now I know what band I'm going to listen.

And I love Fighter but who doesn't? Jerks like you.

For once, Black Mage and Fighter pursue the same goal. To help Chaos.

Maybe they are not so different after all?

" You were supposed to destry his mind." I was expecting that to be followed up with "dirk-a-dur!"

Looks like Fighter is destroying a mind...just kind of the wrong one.

Also: Oh Black Mage. Hahahahaha.

justice~!

I figured since the universe hates BM, it's going to end up that Fighter and Chaos end up as good buddies and BM is shut out in the cold.

Green Spanner
02-09-2010, 02:27 PM
Again, I have no idea why BM thinks helping Chaos will not end terribly for him.

Oh right, he's an idiot.

I get it now.

I mean, the universe hates BM and never lets him succeed, so having him help Chaos pretty much assures his failure.

What if he knows the universe is out to get him that way? Maybe he knows that well enough that, by attempting to help Chaos, he'll guarantee Chaos's failure, and thus win and save the day to get into White Mage's robes just like he intended...?

Such is BM's status as the butt-monkey that even when he succeeds he fails.

TimeSpaceMage
02-09-2010, 05:44 PM
Maybe if they get him to overload his power again, the damage he does will rise past the highest representable positive number, then back through the negatives until it hits 0.

Oh Brian when will we get another strip showing Red Mage's overcomplex plans or Thief's conning and legal skills.

Aklyon

or both!

Link_991
02-09-2010, 07:19 PM
well is seems Fighter succeeded in destrying Thief's mind at least.
And isn't that what really counts?

wait what?

Ti-Phil
02-09-2010, 08:28 PM
Well, everyone knows that destrying a mind is way more efficient than destroying a mind!

Also I love how Fighter ignores how he was removed from the conversation.

They just need to declare Chaos politically incorrect and he'll be forced to leave or change his intentions.

They did the legal crap to remove the soul from the orb, so it should work on Chaos.

Aklyon
02-09-2010, 10:06 PM
where ARE they anyway? that would probably change the definition of political correctness.

Oh goodness gracious! A typo! Quick! Everybody point it out because we are obviously the only ones able to see that terrible, terrible error.

Or. We could. Y'know. Just accept a typo for what it is a move on to bigger better things. Crazy I know, but just putting it out there.

Why would Chaos obey laws? What would that make him, chaotic lawful? That makes less sense than a stube :gonk:

Brian, you master of obfuscation.

Yeah, because it's not like typos have never been pointed out before and they've certainly never been fixed before. I'm fairly certain however, that I'm not the only one with eyes with which to see such a thing but merely the second person to post and as it hadn't been provided yet, provided Brian the common courtesy of making him aware of a mistake that he may or may not have noticed himself.

But I'm crazy, so what do I know?

Anyway, back to the comic. What about that Black Mage? He's quite the character, eh?

Hanuman

Chaos and Law are just words, Chaos cannot be described by words because if that were true then it would have to adhere to some definable principle... the point of Chaos is that you just can't do that.

Aklyon
02-10-2010, 03:25 PM
Chaos cannot be described by words then how do we know thats actually chaos? it could be chaos' cat. or a completly unrelated thing calling itself Chaos just to trick :bmage:

HAHA, yeh typoed, zomgftw!11!(one)1!

hmmm something doesn't seem right...
!!!
OBJECTION!!!
Stubes make perfect sense, people just didn't consider the in-side, and- wait, it's actually in the lastest Inventor's Quarterly, just read it and you will understand.

then how do we know thats actually chaos? it could be chaos' cat. or a completly unrelated thing calling itself Chaos just to trick :bmage:

Now, that makes sense!
Or maybe the correct expression is that it doesn't make sense?
Now i'm dizzy :s

Hmm. My prediction: The comics are about to take a turn for the serious. Well, as serious as these comics ever have been. Fighter or possibly everyone other than black mage die. BM Realises Chaos is kind of a major jerk and decides to make a massive love powered Hadoken, a Lovedoken if you will, and kills Chaos. Then good ol' BM wins the internet. Of course by that I mean WM falls in love with him. There will be much "Aww"ing until he starts his amazing pick up lines
*Mental Note: Write down those lines for later use.*

Choas can't destroy the world. If he does he kills Onion Knight aka Little Sarda and prevent Sarda from ever becoming Chaos.

How much time do the Light Warriors have until the 24 hour time limit is up, anyway?
It cant be much longer now. I'm guessing, an hour maybe?
Of course an hour in this comic translates to 100+ comics, which is good news for us.

I predict that Brian will actually conclude the Chaos scenario when he is on his death bed (or make it before hand and say in his will to release it after he dies.)

Someone call the time police! EvilEarl has seen into the future!

Huh? There is a noise at my door. *Opens door* Oh heeeey Time Cops. Huh? No this isn't the residence of EvilEarl. Woah! Put away that gun! I can show you my username! It's joshedis! DON'T SHOO-

Although, in all reality. I still think it was rather clever how Brian got around our killing Onion Kid dilema.

The Light Warriors will likely find a way around the Chaos problem only to run into a giant on the way home and get squished again. They are back in the area where they live and they have been deleveled so they once again stand little chance and it IS sort of a running joke that hasn't happened in a while.

joshedis
02-12-2010, 05:12 PM
Well, they may be deleveled. But since has levels been a major hinderence in Red Mages plans? After all. He did Logic Bomb (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/LogicBomb) a friggin' Dinosaur out of existence. There isn't really a problem with anything that isn't some form of an above average monster.

Oh, and I know we have been having a discussion about this somewhere awhile earlier, but what was the last thing we have seen White Mage doing?

He tried to do the same thing to a Giant, it didn't work.

He tried to do the same thing to a Giant, it didn't work.

The giant was an aberration of code that snuck it's way into the comic, that's why it was immmune. Chaos, on the other hand, is an intended part of the comic, and thereby vulnerable.

You can not Logic Bomb a being so powerful it can just ignore how time functions into defeat.

Red Mage also failed to limit the number of enemies attacking them. He pretty much just gt lucky one time.

joshedis
02-13-2010, 01:10 AM
Oh, well of course Brian wouldn't let him Logic Bomb any end game boss. But still, just on a random encounter Red Mage would be fine.

So, any ideas on who kills Chaos? It is pretty much between Fighter and Black Mage. There is probably going to be a huge fighting scene. With the Avatars finally making another appearance.

The old man in the blue robe who tipped Fighter off will finally show up, revealing himself to be the leader of the underground Blue Mage organization who has been planning the events of the entire comic, so that Chaos may reveal himself in physical form; epic battle ensues, LW's take credit, etc...
