... This might seem like a DUH thing, but with Chaos using his body as a portal to our world, has Sarda died in the process? Or, ya know, from the explosion? I'm not sure if we were ever clear on that.

Probably dead, but maybe just transformed.
Dunno for sure.

"Mommy, mommy, where did uncle Sarda go?"
"He went to heaven to meet beautiful angels."
"But when does he come back mommy?"
"No one knows Jimmy, no one knows."
Sarda is gone. Get used to it.

Weird, I swear we had a thread on this but search doesn't turn up anything. I distinctly remember giving input on this exact subject. Did I talk to someone about it on AIM or something?
Duh, in a comic discussion thread. (http://forum.nuklearpower.com/showthread.php?p=978569#post978569)
Anyway my take is more or less still the same - there doesn't seem to be a lot that implies he isn't or couldn't be, it seems appropriate that his own plan and his own megalomania would lead to his demise, and I'm not sure if it would make for a good story turn if he popped up again after Chaos is defeated.

Maybe he'll briefly re-emerge within Chaos when Chaos is about to destroy everything, and do something to destroy himself and Chaos, while saying "See assholes? I have to kill myself to stop existence from being erased! You've forced me into self-sacrifice good guy bullshit! Your eternity spanning torture of me has come full circle, HAPPY NOW!?!?"
BM: Nah. Never enough murdered parents, I always say.

Escept all of that is Sarda's own fault.
And of course you're also assuming Sarda gives a rat's ass that the world is ending. He was planning to destroy it and remake it himself, remember?

Good riddance to the biggest bastard in the entire comic. I piss on your grave, Sarda.

Well technically, he isn't dead. Seeing as he existed in at least two overlapping time lines. At least as Onion Kid, the guy is still around.

Old Sarda was as dead as a door-nail.
Mind! I don't mean to say that I know, of my own knowledge, what there is particularly dead about a door-nail. I might have been inclined, myself, to regard a coffin-nail as the deadest piece of ironmongery in the trade. But the wisdom of our ancestors is in the simile; and my unhallowed hands shall not disturb it, or the Country's done for. You will therefore permit me to repeat, emphatically, that Sarda was as dead as a door-nail.
Seeing how easy it is to escape Hell, or take over it, I don't doubt Sarda would claw his way back to Earth through sheer bloody mindedness in a matter of minutes, let alone a full 24 hours. Chaos' plan is to trap everyone in perpetual agony in the space between plains, so maybe he simply started with Sarda.
I still think it's actually Sarda playing the biggest prank of his (significantly long) life. He did mention random magical torture, didn't he?

This.
Either Sarda is somehow still trapped inside of Chaos, or he's dead. Good riddance, since this Crapsack World is all his and Red Mage's faults anyway.

If Onion Kid still lives then Sarda still lives.

I'm not sure it really matters. The White Warriors are about to lay waste to our heros, so even if Sarda isn't dead, he still won't do anything to stop, change, interfere, or even annoy the main plotline.
I feel a little sorry for BM, since his one and only love will soon betray him.
Then I remembered that this is BM we're talking about.

Betray him? He was once trying to assasinate her with paint thinner and subsequently RAPE her! (Yes, in THAT order!)
I don't think that counts as love.

Aka: The horrible, horrible monster.

I thought he was dead when BM sneezed on him? Obviously the white warriors purified him too so not much else to do there now.

Not only is he merely dead, he's really most sincerely dead.

I think my question is kind of moot now as even if he wasn't dead, his body was turned to ashes, so... yeah.
Sarda's a ghost. He will haunt the Light Warriors in heir dreams. Provided that they survive the next few episodes.
So. I'm done.
