Woo!
Okay, so, I'm making a list of games to get and I'd like some help with said list. So far:
- FFT war of the lions
- Dissidia
- whatever Monster Hunter game is the best
- Patapon
- Crisis Core
Any ideas?

When it comes out you are legally obligated to get Persona 3 Portable.
Disgaea 2 is fucking awesome.
If you can forgive a game for being an old school dungeon crawler with goddamn archaic gameplay elements maybe check out Persona PSP.
Prinny: Can I Really Be The Hero is a Your Mileage May Vary type of platformer. Maybe check it out.

There's a Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops, which is somewhat entertaining; you might wanna check that one out. Also, there's a remake of the first Mega Man and Mega Man X games, though I strongly prefer the latter.

Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles. Rondo available in both classic and new and pretty modes? Hells yes. Also SotN is pretty good, though seriously hold your hand nigh impossible to die easy and kinda clunky if you've played the later Metroidvanias. Especially if the last one you played was Ecclesia with it's streamlined goodness and difficulty ratcheted back to old school Castlevania levels.
The Persona 1 remake is pretty swanky too. If as NonCon said showing it's age.
Also if you can get the Playstation Store, download Vagrant Story that game is great.

And Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker is coming out soon which looks amaaaazing. As a matter of fact you should get it and then send me it and your PSP for a week or something so I can play it.:sweatdrop

If you're into fighters Soul Calibur Broken Destiny is pretty solid, as it's basically just Soul Calibur 4, again, but on the PSP, with Kratos.
Valkyrie Profile. Period.
I dunno about this game. I don't really hate it, and the gameplay was decent, but there are arbitrary and very extreme difficulty jumps, and when I was playing the plot didn't seem to be going anywhere. The whole thing just dragged on, and because there are so many damn party members none of them get decently characterized so I wasn't attached to them enough to force my way through the latest difficulty jump and just sent it back to Gamefly instead.
EDIT: I didn't know Vagrant Story was on the PSP Store but yeah get that that game rocks like a motherfucker.

Actually this is a good suggestion I have been playing the hell out of the demo So much so that I think i'm ready for a "No kill" run in the game (that's right I'm going to try to go through the game not killing anyone!...except asshat bosses and those "unavoidable" generic soldiers)
although the game is a little ...chunky in it's controls

I'll admit that some of the story characters only get so much since there's a huge link to the race to Armageddon. Doing this in the right order is heavily influenced. Hell, the story is disjointed because it's only a small snippet of each person's life then it's taken away. I kinda like that we get to see what makes the army tick and it's your choice how to power them up. Do well, your side does well in the end.
Thing is, you get them all back for the final battle and some of them are really powerful such as the swordie guy (name escapes me). Not a bad game for quick plays. But you can tell who the developers really liked.

This is seconded.

If you haven't played it yet, import Breath of Fire 3 from Europe. It's a great RPG.
As for me, Disgaea 2 Dark Hero Days is eating my soul.

Okay, I finally have it with me.
Dissidia is amazing, but I want a practice mode. Also, some stages are very weird.

I enjoyed the PS2 versions of Jak & Daxter: Lost Frontier, Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, & Secret Agent Clank.
You might want to consider renting them via Gamefly or the like.
If I had a PSP, I'd like to try the God of War game, plus I'd likely check out the Assasin's Creed & Prince of Persia games for the PSP.

- I've oft considered getting a PSP, but I just don't like the small screen & haven't enjoyed fiddling with the controls with the demo systems I've run across.

Here's the problem with GoW on the PSP:
That damn roll-dodge is hard on your thumb. You use it a lot and without a true analog stick, you're going to build calluses. I would recommend keeping to the PS2 and PS3 versions simply for that one game.

So I hear that one Final Fantasy VII game kinda kicks ass. Or that it's really overrated. Or that the people saying it's overrated can go suck on a rusty fire hydrant because it's overall not a bad game that you can actually *gasp* have fun with. Also that some guy with red hair and a missing eye is by far one of the most unique and progressive characters of the entire series.
P.S. Don't forget the Behemoth Horn.
Crisis Core stars Zach who is the best character to grace the FFVII games, in my opinion. Sephiroth also gets much more characterized then "Oh no I'm a monster guess I better blow up the world!" It's main problem is that there are two other Sephiroths who are incredibly boring characters, plot holes, and goddammit it's part of the unfinished Gackt trilogy so yeah. The combat isn't all that great, but the ending, except for all the parts with Gackt, is incredibly well done.
