So, I sure have been popping mint imperials all day. It wouldn't be so bad were it not apparent relapsing into old habits.
On the plus side, my breath is fresh I guess...
So, what stuff are you addicted to that isn't (noticeably) bad for you?

Only thing that comes to mind for me is intimacy/sex with mutually consenting monogamous, STI-free partner!
*thinks of other thread* Oh yeah, milk I guess. :p

Exercise. You create pleasant hormones while increasing your ability to metabolize the stress it and everything else causes.

Addicted to stroking my beard and/or mustache. No harmful side-effects from that, right?
Scratching yo balls. As long as you keep your nails cut, that is.

A friend of mine quit smoking by kissing his girlfriend every time he wanted a smoke until the craving went away. Another buddy of mine did a push up (on his knuckles no less) every time he wanted a smoke.
My newfound addiction? Don't laugh at this, but knitting is addicting man. Those old ladies know what's going on. I spend pretty much all of my time working out, doing homework, playing sports of some kind, OR KNITTING.

I've taken to turning on music I can sing along to whenever I wish to smoke, this coupled with the fact that I get my most intense urges while driving long distances has been quite successful, and surprisingly unembarassing.

Sugar Free gum. I swear, without this excellent stuff I'd weigh about 700 Trillion Tons and would change the solar system forever.

Um... yeah... that and maybe my addiction to Medical/Firefighting Dramedys. I mean, nothing can go wrong there...

Spin (cycling) classes. :D I joined a gym last month and have been regularly attending 2-3 spin classes every week. It's amazing to see how quickly your muscles improve (I actually have slightly defined quadriceps now) and how much your RPM increases over time. At the end of my first class my average RPM was 56; now it's 86. I do some additional working out but so far spinning is the only consistent part of my routine, and since I've begun I've had better posture, better quality of sleep, and a lot more energy. It's awesome.

Vitamin C. Dead serious here. I don't know how it happened, but I wonder sometimes if it's not an actual biological addiction. If there is orange juice or other citrus in the house, I'll drink it all in a matter of a couple days on my own, limiting myself. If there are fruit snacks with vitamin C in them, well, let's just say I usually buy four boxes at a time and have to fight with myself to make them last for not even up to a week. The first packet I open will literally set up a craving. I have literally cursed at my brother for tossing me Gushers because he refuses to take things back when he gives gifts and if it's around, I will eventually eat it and start the whole train wreck again.
I know it sounds ridiculous, but at least C is water-soluble, so I can't poison myself with it.

5,000MG/DAY maximum, displaced over the day.
If you are going to drink orange juice then its better to just eat the orange, but both are filled with acids and sugars.
Pine needles have way more vitamin C, nearly no sugar, and aren't as hard on you as the acids.
Pine needles can be steeped into tea. (http://www.ehow.com/how_2102192_pine-needle-tea.html)

I am not going to go all the way to the other end of the street and climb up my fallen-out friend's tree to defoliate it in order to gain a substance which I'd rather avoid for the sake of my own sanity and not even have it taste good. Have you TASTED pine? It's not too bad until it oxidizes, but when it does, it tastes awful. I'd imagine the tea gets pretty bitter.
Basically, you're telling a recovering alcoholic where to buy the cheapest aftershave.
I find this humorous, actually. :J

That's like Perfume on crack. I'm not sure whether or not I like it, though.
I'll watch it again in the morning. It took me three tries before I saw it all the way through due to my family interrupting, so I'll give it another chance when I'm not as put out.

You will never be certain as to whether or not you truly like it; all you will know is that it's really fucking addictive.

Taste is relative, you drink nothing but soda for a year and water isn't going to taste so good.

Alternatively stop drinking soda after drinking about 1 liter a day for over 10 years and when you finally go back after a few months it tastes like crap. You just have to substitute something else for the caffeine or put up with feeling like crap for about a month.

Yes, but then you have to consider that eating tar off the street for a year doesn't actually make it good.
Pine actually does taste pretty good when absolutely untouched by the air, but afterward, it just plain tastes like shit and I already prefer strong coffee (http://forum.nuklearpower.com/showpost.php?p=1015413&postcount=1645).

Wait a moment, are you saying coffee drinkers actually have a level of societal organisation beyond degenerate savagery?
Wow, you learn something new every day here.
Hmm, seeing I drink about three cups of tea a day, I should probably say that as my addiction.

...whoa. I didn't think people would get so snarky over a coffee vs. tea poll. (I thought we had risen above that?) Personally I drink both, so whatever.

Tar tastes bad because it's essentially recognized as a toxin, there's also a big connection with chemical composition of a food and how your body recognizes the taste, chocolate, booze, cigs, ect. taste better when your body adapts an understanding of their effects.
Oh, and I studied culinary arts for 2 years when I thought I wanted to be a chef. :)

That's great and all, but then you have to consider that booze and cigs are ALSO toxins and there are very few people in the world who don't like chocolate. ;)
Put simply, I'll just stick to the legal method of buying orange juice.

Probably why no one likes the taste/smell (same thing) until they get used to their drug properties.
