View Full Version : Just a quick Charlie the Cat question...
So let me get this straight Brian; the one time Charlie eats something that cats are supposed to eat you stopped him? After all these years of seeing these "What did Charlie eat?" posts he finally got it right! This should be cause for celebration. Unless you were worried that he'd leave you half of it in your shoe or something.

Charlie the Cat is my hero! ALL HAIL CHARLIE THE CAT!!!
Cat's eat mice only to leave it somewhere for the owner to find as a gift or I prefer it "Alright slaves, NOW CLEAN UP MY MESS!"

I think it's pretty obvious here that years of comics replacing normal human social activity has impressed upon Brian the notion that every cat is Garfield, and (by proxy) that cats are not supposed to eat mice.

See I first read it as a computer mouse, and so I got confused until I saw the context.
Yeah, it's really easy to catch a computer mouse. Killing it though.....well....maybe breaking it would work.

I'm thinking Brian never lived in an old house where mice would keep you awake at night all winter long. When my parents got a cat and he started hunting I just went "oh, he's got a mouse. This is an EXCELLENT DEVELOPMENT!"

I've been itching to make a Tom and Jerry joke in this thread, but I just can't think of any.

It's ok, when the iron falls on your head you will think of one.

Seriously, you should be praising Charlie for this. Not only is he saving you a little money on kitty food, he is also keeping your house free of disease spreading pests that like to chew through things.
But come on, prying a dead mouse out of his jaws? It makes about as much sense as if someone pried a bite of beef (or lettuce if you swing that way) out of your jaws. Cats are carnivorous predators, and mouse happens to be on the menu. It's not a bad thing.
Also out of curiosity, are your cats declawed?

Well the mouse might have had a disease or a parasite that wouldn't do Charlie any good.
Alternatively, maybe Brian doesn't want a cat with mouse breath.
