View Full Version : New Bond Flicks And Independance Day Sequels
James Bond 23 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bond_23#Future_.28Bond_23.29)
Apparently Rachel Weisz (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1074638/) is part of it. (>>)
Also, there was word on Electric Playground (http://thecelebritycafe.com/feature/did-smith-sign-two-%E2%80%98independence-day%E2%80%99-sequels-03-30-2010) today about how Will Smith was thinking of doing a sequel to a movie he did in the nineties. I wounder if the original actors are still interested.

I don't care what anyone says, Independence Day is an eminently watchable TBS tv-edited movie for when nothing else is on. I feel the same extreme modicum of interest in this new and improved sequel!
EDIT: Also your title misspelling makes me wish there was a movie starring Will Smith as a rapper/dancer who defeats aliens with his funky grooves and moves. Of course, that will probably be the plot of the sequel, so maybe I'll get my wish...

I still haven't seen the last 2 Bond films, but I always liked Independance Day. Though just because they say they might make a movie doesn't mean they actually will.

An edited version eh? Does it leave out the part where the computer programmer goes "A virus? HEUREKA! ALL WE NEED IS A COMPUTER VIRUS TO INFECT THEIR COMPUTERS!" Cause that'd make it much more watchable.
Who am I kidding, I bought the DVD. -_-

Independence day is sweet because it all the explosions were models and not shitty computers.
I think they had a great fear of using computers for effects because they might get virused.
not sure what will happen in the sequel though- the aliens come back with a firewall?

Hahaha, well I am only a little ashamed Independence Day is on my number two spot for most watched movie ever. I thought it was pretty awesome though, when I was like 12. And I don't think that level of nostalgia will let me hate the making of a sequel.
Rachel Weisz is attached to everything. Like every Nolan Batman movie until he stops doing Batman.

Seriously, you can't trust IMDb for movies that haven't started production yet.
(Here is the source of the Weisz rumor. (http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Rachel-Weisz-Could-Be-James-Bond-s-Next-Villain-17780.html))
[A]s with all rumors, even when they’re from a proven source like this one, it’s just rumor until it can be confirmed by a second, independent source. In fact this particular source affirmed that in our communication, reiterating that it’s still very early in the process and that because of this, “things can change in a heartbeat and they might even try to deny what I told you, but that's what's the brainstorming going on now.”

The new Bond flicks were awesome. Well, Casino Royale was. Quantum Of Solace sucked.
Did Independence Day even leave room for a sequel?
Watching Will Smith punch out an alien and Jeff Goldblum pretend to know about computers is always a good time. Bring on the sequel!
I like Jeff Goldblum - I don't know why. He just looks like an interesting guy.

It should be an ironic reversal where humans in the far distant future (led by the great great great etc. grandson of Will Smith's character who also looks like Will Smith) travel to the alien planet and attempt to kill them all off, but are repulsed by a suicidal alien who flies his spacecraft right into the humans' only weak point.
