Also, glad to see someone else giving the GIMP some credit. It has a learning curve, and isn't as easy to use as some other programs, but when you learn it, you can do a lot with it.

I have a smiley base for anyone who wants to make new ones. There are plenty out there already, though. We can probably safely leave those decisions for last.

Edit: PS, ever since the overhaul to the base, Paint.NET has been slightly retarded about drawing fonts slightly too thin or just not the way it used to (and generally it doesn't look as good). So someone else can feel free to use the button base I made up to re-create the edit button. It's just a wiped-out quote button, and it should probably be pared down to better fit, but I wanted to make sure there was ample room to work with:

The old one was like that, only without the silver part. The two blue ends were pushed into a ball, although I'm not sure if it's actually necessary to do it that way. Can an admin pop in and tell us if there's a size restriction?

The problem with resizing it with anti-aliasing is that Onion Kid gets far too blurred, because of the black outline. Didn't even notice the White Mage didn't have it. Gimme a second, and there shall be no proof it was ever wrong.

I ended up using Arial Black and shortening it a pixel, which is probably what was done in the first place. Also, I artificially spaced the letters. Past that, pretty much standard Arial Black.

Gifs don't artifact that way. Of course, I do a lot of pixel work, so I probably notice things others don't in that regard.

I think, if possible, cycling through the characters from the different comics would be a neat idea for the title image. Unsure if Shiney can slap together or find the script to make it happen, though, or if its really worth the effort. Just that it'd be neat.

Well, in my non-mattering opinion, I'm all for going nuts, then picking the ones we like best. Could have a few uniform elements/design choices between each of the images (Font face, colors used...) for the sake of uniformity, but I'm all for creativity in placement et cetera.

The problem with the third one is that I'd have to upscale the source image to make it bigger. I mean, MSperoni could give me a bigger version of the comic to work with, but otherwise we're talking blur.
