Now, before you call me crazy, mosey on over to the interest thread (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showthread.php?t=37722) to find out just how much this isn?t my fault. Blame Teal?and Krylo?and well?pretty everyone who posted after post #21.
Anyways?
THE SITUATION SO FAR (aka: The Plot!)
The prophesy of the Mother of Hell is one of the oldest known to man: She is destined to give birth to one who has power over the Gates of Hell. Should the child choose to open the Gates, the demonic hordes will pour out in the full strength, almost guaranteeing the end of the world. Should the child choose to close the Gates forever, demons will never be a blight in the world of man again.
As you might imagine, this makes the Mother of Hell (aka: The Chosen?depending on who you ask) into a target for both demons and the humans who fight them. The prophesy has been around for centuries, and dozens of women have been marked as the Mother of Hell?and not one has ever given birth. Most don?t even survive into their twenties.
And now, in the modern day, the tragedy of the Mother of Hell unfolds again.
The Mother of Hell has been placed under the protection of Duncan McCragge, an independently wealth man who also happens to be a psychic with the power to control electricity. Duncan?s wealth, as well as the fact that the McCragge family has long fought against supernatural creatures, made him a favorable legal guardian for the young Mother of Hell. Along with Duncan, a cabal of Protectors had been recruited from the ranks of various anti-supernatural agencies and groups, including the Supernatural Elimination and Containment Agency, the US Government?s black-ops organization created to deal with the monsters, demons, and the like. Under the united care of these groups, the Mother of Hell lived a surprisingly quite life.
In recent days, however, things have begun to unravel. Despite all precautions, it has become clear that demonic forces are starting to close on the Mother of Hell. Taylorsville, where the girl was living, has seen a spike in demonic activities?the highest on record, including a mass possession at the school the Mother of Hell was attending. Local SECA forces, even with help from the other organizations, are hard pressed to push back the influx while both maintaining secrecy and protecting the Mother of Hell.
Realistically, it is only a matter of time before SECA can no longer offer their protection to the girl. Should this happen, the SECA directive will be to terminate the Mother of Hell: take one life to guarantee the lives of billions.
Duncan McCragge has seen this coming, and is starting to plan the Mother of Hell?s escape. But he knows that he and the handful of Protectors who will remain loyal don?t have a chance against the cultists and demons who are already closing in, let alone when SECA and other organizations start to send kill-teams after them.
Fortunately?Duncan is independently wealthy, and his assets haven?t been frozen yet. And Big Bad Wolf Limited, a high powered mercenary private security company that happens to specialize in?unusual situations, is more than happy to take those assets in return for doing the impossible.
The Character Groups
The Protectors: This is possibly the low point for the Protectors. The last few weeks have almost literally been hell on Earth as the demonic forces and their cultist lackeys have slowly been closing in on the Mother of Hell. A goodly number of Protectors have been hurt or killing in the line of duty. To make matters worst, almost all the major organizations have pulled out their people out of the Protectors, and it is only a matter of time before the rest do.
At this point, the only Protectors left on board are those who are in it to the bitter, soul crushing end. Your support networks are gone, but Duncan has done a good job of stocking up, so you are not in want of supplies. At this point, you are also highly experienced in demon fighting: those mercenaries may have shiny, custom toys, but you know how to drop a demon at ten paces with nothing but a shotgun.
Big Bad Wolf Limited: The premiere private anti-supernatural company in the world (despite what those hacks at Sheepdog Incorporated say). Picking up recruits from militaries, anti-monster groups, and various other sources from around the world, Big Bad Wolf Limited has rightfully earned the reputation of being able to handle any situation?as long as the pay is right. They are a professional outfit: once the fee is paid, the Wolves are loyal until the job is done.
If you chose to be a Big Bad Wolf, you are a mercenary who hops from one supernatural hotspot to another?but what are a few nightmares to pulling in a percentage of multi-million dollar deals? Demonic activity is relatively rare nowadays, so those Protectors who you?ve been hired to come in and save think they are better at killing them. On the other hand, most of their stuff is government issue?can you say ?lowest bidder?? Big Bad Wolf Limited supplies their people with custom built gear and weapons. After all why in the world would you want to kill a demon at close range with a shotgun when I can gun it down at 300 yards with a custom built anti-tank rifle that?s painted your favorite color?
Other Groups and Organizations
The Supernatural Elimination and Containment Agency: A secretive, militaristic organization of the United States. Basically, SECA is a law-enforcement agency that has a special weapons and tactics unit that could conquer small countries. Up until recently, SECA provided most of the manpower and funding for the Protectors and other operations involving the guarding of the Mother of Hell. The recent upswing in demonic activity, however, is forcing SECA to change its policy regarding the Mother of Hell?it has simply become too costly, both in money and manpower, to protect a single individual. At the moment, SECA is only phasing back it?s sponsorship of the Mother of Hell. However, everyone knows it is only a matter of time before it starts to hunt the girl. Killing one is justifiable if it means the lives of billions.
The Society of the Gifted: The Society of the Gifted (more often just called ?The Society?, is an ancient order of psychics. Members of the Society have used their special talents to fight the forces of evil for hundreds of years, and the Society is often sited as the oldest anti-supernatural organization on the face of the Earth.
The Society is a major ally of SECA, and has been willing to let the government organization run in the ?lead dog? position on the Mother of Hell situation. It, too, has come to the conclusion that, even if they continue to provide protection for the Chosen, it is only a matter of time before she is taken. However, the decision won?t go entirely unopposed: the McCragges are an old family and have many allies. However, by and large the Protectors won?t be able to count on much support, even from dissaent factions within the Society. SECA kill-teams will likely be supplemented with Society volunteers.
Sheepdog Incorporated: If not for certain factors, Sheepdog Inc could be seen as the sister company to Big Bad Wolf Ltd.
However, those ?certain factors? include the minor fact that the CEOs of the two companies hate each other?s guts.
Sheepdog Inc was founded by Bruce Albert Dorian, who, along with Louis Percy Gray and Robert Ichabod Portrait, were the founding memebers of the first major anti-supernatural private company: Protrait, Dorian, Grey, and Associates. PDG & Assoc was a highly profitable company for many years?until the company dissolved when Dorian killed Portrait and attempted to do the same to Grey to become sole owner of the company. Even the name Sheepdog is meant to be an annoyance to Grey.
Sheepdog Inc, despite its name, is a much crueler organization than Big Bad Wolf Limited. Sheepdog Inc always favors the highest bidder?even if the highest bidder happens to be the opponent of their current client. However, if you can afford to hire (and keep) Sheepdog into your employ, you get an utterly ruthless mob which will get the job done, no questions asked.
Heck, especially if no questions are asked.
It is likely that private individuals will look into hiring Sheepdog Inc once it comes to light that Big Bad Wolf Limited is now tasked with the protection of the Mother of Hell. The organizations have clashed in the past, and there is no love lost between the two.
Vigilante Hunters: The small-time groups take are almost exclusively local organizations. These range from groups of concerned citizens who hunt to keep their families safe to rednecks looking for a good time to sadists who figured out its easier to get away with torturing things that aren?t human. Armed with the knowledge they?ve uncovered in old book or online, and armed with whatever they can afford, Vigilante Hunters are often seen as the grass roots of the battle against The Other Side...whether they are better or worst than the monsters they hunt depends on the person.
Religious Organizations: Many of the major religious organizations have an anti-monster task force, a la Section XIII and the Hellsing organization from the anime/manga Hellsing. The debate rages amongst the various organizations of how so-called ?holy? abilities and relics work. Some argue that it is a specialize subsection of psionics, and that holy relics do nothing more but channel latent psychic abilities.
Their outlook on the Mother of Hell depends on the faction. Some are neutral, some for protecting her, others believe it is for the best that she dies.
You are free to make up your own religious organization if you wish?just avoid insulting other people?s religions, please.
Gameplay Stuff
Psionics: For all intents and purposes, there is no magic.
Well, that?s not true. If you?re a cultist you can trade part of your soul to a demon, and let them dwell within you in return for magic-like powers?but more often than not that ends with the demon wearing you like a badly tailored meat suit at some point.
That isn?t to say that some humans don?t have supernatural abilities. Some people are gifted with psychic powers?often called psionics.
Psychics are very specialized: that is to say that a telekinetic can move objects with his/her mind, but they cannot start fires, and visa versa Psionics also take time and effort to develop, so people who rely on psychic powers have less time to train in more mundane skills, like firearms and hand-to-hand combat. As such, psychics won?t be able to out-shoot normal gunslingers, win a hand-to-hand fight with a martial artists, or use heavy weapons any better than a normal civilian.
Demons:
Why is the Mother of Hell so important in the first place?
Because, with things as they are, demons (or most divine beings, for that matter), cannot freely move between their realm (Hell), and the human realm (Earth, for those of you not paying attention). There are ways, but outside of the Gates of Hell being opened, it takes a rather drastic event for a demonic entity to appear on the mortal plane with it?s powers fully intact.
Least Demons (Possessing spirits): The least powerful demons on Earth are those who cannot manifest themselves in any way. They can control the mind of a human for a limited time, however. While possessed, the body of the human will feel no pain, and as such will continue on even if fatally damaged. However, once the possessing spirit is cast out, or leaves of it?s own free will, the host will bear the full brunt of any damage done to his body. The first skill that the majority of monster hunters learn is to shield their minds from possessing demons, so only the unskilled are in danger of being possessed.
Lesser Demon: Lesser demons are those demons powerful enough to manifest themselves on the mortal plane, but with greatly reduced power. Often summoned by Hell Cults, lesser demons are usually what monster hunters go up against. Though more powerful than humans, any human with the right knowledge and equipment is more than a match for a lesser demon.
Lesser Demon Subtype: Demonic Hybrid: In some cases, a lesser demon has been known to make a ?pact? with a willing human. This allows the demon to use the body of the human to manifest itself, allow it to retain more of it?s power, more often than not at the price of the human?s life, for once the demon is manifests itself, the body is changed beyond repair. Demonic Hybrids are much more powerful than lesser demons since they require less of their power to remain manifest, since they draw on the lifeforce of their willing host. Hybrids are often more than a match for any single hunter.
Lesser Demon Subtype: Blood Summoned: One of the more horrific ways to summon demons is by the way of animal or human sacrifice. Depending on what was used, the demon will be more powerful (for example, a rat won?t grant too much more power, but a bull would increase it?s power quite a bit?and a human sacrifice even more). This is because the demon will use the matter of the sacrifice to manifest it?s new body. Not as powerful as the demonic hybrid, but still a threat compared to lesser demons summoned without a sacrifice.
Greater Demon: Only a handful of times in history has a greater demon been summoned successfully. To summon a greater demon, a blood ritual that requires the life of dozens, if not hundreds, of sacrifices must be performed. Due to the complexity of these rituals, they are extremely hard to plan, and even harder to keep secret. The various hunter organizations have kept the number of greater demons being summoned to a bare minimum?the last known case was in San Francisco in 1906. A number of ?natural disasters? were in fact the aftermath of a greater demon being summoned. Once summoned, a greater demon is a terrible foe indeed. While not immortal, they can take an amazing amount of punishment, and have access to magic far beyond the abilities of humans. In every known case, the demon was destroyed soon after summoning, but always at a high cost in human lives. It should be noted that, even with the complex ritual, the greater demon retains only part of his true power.
Outcasts / Fallen : The most rare case for a demon to become manifest on the mortal plane is for it be an ?outcast? demon or a ?fallen? angel. Outcasts are demons who have broken free of the thrall of a demon lord and have escaped, one way or another from the dark realms and into the mortal plane. A fallen is a divine being who has been exiled from the high planes for high crimes against the order there. Only 3 confirmed cases of this kind of demonic entity appearing exist on the record of all the organizations. The most terrifying aspect of this that these being have access to their full power, since they are physically in this plane, not just manifesting from another dimension. The power of the demon depends varies, of course. Should the Gates of Hell be opened, all demonic entities would rate in this category, having full access to their power in the mortal realm.

For those of you who are curious, Evil's Return 1 (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showthread.php?t=19337&highlight=Evil%27s+Return), Evil's Return 2 (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showthread.php?t=35788&highlight=Evil%27s+Return), Big Bad Wolf Limited (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showthread.php?t=24048).
Alright, I think that was enough rambling. Let?s get his mess going.
Character sheet time!
Character Name: Obvious, no?
Gender: Another category I hope is rather self-explanatory.
Age: Again, obvious, I should hope. In past Evil?s Return RPs, it was basically required that a number of Protectors be the same age as the Mother of Hell. In this case, however, that is not required. If you want to be younger, however, feel free to?as long as you are in the Protector camp.
Organization: Are you a Protector, or a Big Bad Wolf? And if you are a Protector, what was your parent agency? For the most part, feel free to make up your own organization?but I retain vote privileges.
Class: Are you a psychic? A gunslinger? A priest who specializes in the use of anti-demonic relics? You get the point.
Special Abilities: Also rather self-explanatory. If you are a psychic, say what your power is. Do you use holy relics? Say what they do. Are you a gunslinger? Say what special trick shots or whatever it is you can do.
Bio: Ah?everyone loves a good character backstory?with the keyword on that part being good. :p.
Equipment/Belonging: If you?re a gunslinger, what the heck do you sling? If you?re a relic user, what the heck is your relic? Stuff like that, along with any personal touches you want to throw in. Remember, if you are a Protector, you can only get basic military issue stuff. If you are a Big Bad Wolf, feel free to go more exotic, or even make up your own weapons. Just try to keep it modern...no lasers or plasma cannons or the like.
Notes: Like the last few pages of a video game instruction manual, no one really knows what the notes section is good for.
If you have any questions (there is a very good chance that I must of messed something up or didn't explain something well in that giant wall-o-text up there), ask it here or send me a PM.

Name: Nicholas Marentine
Gender: Male
Age: ~300
Organization: Big Bad Wolf.
Class: Living weapon
Special Abilities:
Vampirism: He's a vampire with a few centuries under his belt. He's faster and stronger than your normal person by a good amount and he's very hard to kill, only being able to be truly killed by fire, a wooden stake through the heart, sunlight, or decapitation. He also rather enjoys the taste of blood in the evening. Or morning. Or, really, just about whenever.
Street Fighting: A combination of pure violence and a mixture of various western and eastern hand to hand martial arts styles along with his vampiric celerity, fortitude, and potence makes him rather dangerous.
Minor body shifting: Comes with the vampirism. He can make his fingers more clawlike and his body more animalistic in a vague and threatening way.
Bio/Background: Nicholas was, and is a monster. The kind you tell your children about to scare them into submission.
He enjoys killing, enjoys the feel of hot blood against his flesh, and the taste of it on his lips. He enjoys seducing women and destroying homes, before killing and devouring all within them. The corruption of purity, the destruction of innocence, the joy of slaughter. These are the things he has always enjoyed.
However, times change. Security cameras were invented, swat teams, police investigators, and entire secret clandestine organizations devoted to the destruction of creatures such as him, armed with military grade, or better, equipment.
Being a free lance monster, in short, became a very dangerous proposition.
Of course, there were ways to be a monster, without attracting the attention of those organizations, or at least while keeping the appearance of being a greater asset than a liability. Big Bad Wolf Ltd. presented such an opportunity. He could be a mercenary, and get the slaughter he loved, the destruction he craved, and the blood he needed--all without angering the powers that be, so long as he stayed within the bounds of his contracts.
And he even got paid for it, and paid damn well, at that, allowing him to expand his hedonism in new and exciting ways.
Equipment/Belongings: Leather. Lots of leather. Leather Jacket, leather straps for wrapping over his head, leather gloves, leather hat, leather vest, leather pants, leather boots. He wears lots of and lots of leather because it's the only fabric sunlight doesn't penetrate in any degree. His 'gimp suit' as he 'affectionately' calls it, is necessary for any day time maneuvers, though he must be extra careful during these times as a single tear in the leather could result in losing an entire limb to the sun's flames, if not his life.
He also carries a specially made combat shotgun that it's safe to say only he, other vampires, maybe some demons, and perhaps a psychic who specialized in super strength or durability could fire without losing an arm. It is a 4 gauge monster, with a drum feed capable of holding 6 rounds, with a pistol style 'breaching' build, lacking a butt and with a mere 10" barrel. Further, every shell is packed with cube shaped rounds for maximum shot dispersal. All of this is to make up for close combat during daylight maneuvers often being prohibitively dangerous for Nicholas, and the fact that he can't aim worth shit. The gun, however, sees very rare use, as Nicholas is a very 'up close and personal' type of person.
Notes: Nick is a hedonist before and above all else. He does what he enjoys, it just so happens that a great deal of what he enjoys is killing things, but it's not the only thing he enjoys. Unfortunately, this personality can leave him occasionally a bit unreliable when it comes to specific orders. Mostly his commanders simply point him at something they want destroyed and let him go to work, as more complicated commands are often ignored.

Character Name: Duncan McCragge
Gender: Male
Age: 42
Organization: Protector, The Society of the Gifted
Class: Psychic, Electrokenetic
Special Abilities: Duncan is able to manipulate electricity within about a dozen meter radius of himself. He is also able to shoot bolts of energy from his hands. They are not as powerful as lightning of course, but they do enough damage.
Bio: For the first 18 years of his life, Duncan was raised in McCragge Manor in Scotland. For many people, being raised in a large mansion with bunch of servants sounds nice...for Duncan, it wasn't. Duncan's way of rebellion was to travel to America to oversee the property of his eccentric uncle, who had recently died. Duncan made a name for himself within American hunting circles, and when the Mother of Hell was found, Duncan was asked to be her guardian, both because he had the funds to raise her without government funding, and his house was easily defensible.
Duncan has come to the realization that his time in America is coming to an end. When SECA finally decides to kill the Mother of Hell, Duncan figures they should be out of the country by then. He plans to return to Scotland, where the Mother can live out her left under the protection of the McCragges and their allies. It won't be much of a life, but it's better than getting killed by SECA or captured by demons.
Equipment/Belonging: Duncan tends to use his psychic abilities for most purposes, and only carriers a small knife for close in defense. He tends to ware nice suits (after all, he can afford to replace them should they get too damaged to repair). He is used to having a lot of stuff, but is comfortable with the fact that he is going to have to give up most of it to get the Mother of Hell, as well as the Protectors, out of danger.
================================================== =======
Character Name: Real name unknown...goes by Whistler.
Gender: Male.
Age: Technically unknown. Whistler looks to be in his early 30s, but he claims that he has been alive for more than 1,500 years. To hear him tell it, back during the fall of a Rome, Whistler somehow was blessed/cursed with eternal youth (he's pretty sure hes not truly immortal, because he has almost died hundreds of times). It is unknown if he is really that old or just a nutter...but he has more than one person convinced that he is really 1,500+ years old.
Organization: Big Bad Wolf Limited. Whistler is one of Mr. Grey's (the BBWL CEO) oldest and most trusted employees. As such, he is trusted with the Mother of Hell contract.
Class: Jack of all trades. Whistler is extremely skilled in both ranged combat and a number of close-combat and hand-to-hand techniques. He claims that he has had a long time to pick up a lot of tricks.
Special Abilities: Perhaps the thing that convinces the most people that Whistler is as old as he claims to be is that he apparently has had training in numerous combat techniques. There is hardly a weapon he can't skillfully use (everything from swords, to flinklocks, to rocket launchers). There are very few people in few people in the world that can claim to have mad skills that Whistler has.
Bio: Whistler isn't afraid to throw around his claim that he is over a 1000 years old, but he doesn't really talk about his past unless someone asks him about it. All that is really known about him is what he has done in his time at Big Bad Wolf Limited. Whistler was one of the first people that Grey brought aboard, and in the years since then, Whistler has risen to being the de facto second in command of the company.
Whistler is hard to take serious at first, as he tends to be rather laid back, and living up to his namesake by whistling at seemingly insane moments.
Equipment/Belonging: Whistler has an eccentric collection of weapons. In his residence he as it all on display, much to envy of many museums around the world. When he goes on a mission, Whistler usually brings along some kind of hand-to-hand weapon (he favors a gladius style sword. It is a replica, but was forged with modern alloys and is rated for combat), a restored and tuned-up M1918 .30 cal Browning Automatic Rifle, two Smith & Wesson Model 500 pistols (read: .50 caliber revolvers), and, depending on the situation, an RPG-32.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Name: Patricia "Patches" Knowels
Gender: Female
Age:: 25
Organization: Big Bad Wolf Limited
Class: Driver/Mechanic
Special Abilities: Telemechanic - Patches has the psyhic power of being able to figure how to use any machine just by touching it. This makes her a naturally gifted driver, pilot, and mechanic. There isn't a machine that has been built that she can't control or use...at, least on a basic level. She can't control the machine as well as someone with more experience, but her gift also allows her to gain experience in the nuances of any given machine exponentially faster than a normal person.
Bio: Patches claims that she was born in an Amish family and ran away at the age of 10.
As many people have deduced, this is a bald-faced lie. Patricia was born and raised in a suburban, middle-class family. Really, her real complaint about her childhood is that her parents were a bit too overprotective and traditional...they didn't seem to like the idea of their daughter going into a trade like being an auto mechanic, despite her nature talent in it. It was this overprotection that incited her to sign up for the military when she was 18. Even the government was able to spot her talents, and she quickly found herself with a maintenance/support group. It was late in her fourth and last year in active duty what she was contacted by a "talent scout" from Big Bad Wolf Limited. She was promised a high pay job and access to the latest and great tech money could buy. Patricia couldn't resist that. She's worked with the company for almost 4 years, and has been with Whistler's group for the last two years.
Equipment: Patches usually travels with just her toolkit and work clothes. She carries a small pistol, but is really too afraid to fire it. Her favorite toy of the moment is a modified French VBCI infantry fighting vehicle. Patches has replaced the normal armor with with an alloy that is both lighter and strong (but twice as expensive), put in a more powerful engine, and wired up the gun turret show that she can control it remotely from the cockpit if needs be. This souped up IFV has been dubbed "The Growler", thanks to the low, almost animal growling noise the new engine makes. Since protecting the Mother of Hell is essentially one big escort mission, Patches has been allowed to take the Growler along.
Notes: The nickname "Patches" comes from her hair: it is colored in seemingly dozens of different colors in equally numerous square patches on her hair. This coloring scheme translates over to whatever machine she is working on at the moment. If it has a horrible, patchy paint job, you know it works like a dream.
Outside of a vehicle in combat, Patches is an admitted coward. She'll find a corner to hide in and keep her head down until the combat dies out. However, put her behind the wheel/stick/control panel of a vehicle, and Patches is Hell on Wheels...no pun for the current situation intended.

Character Name: Task McCragge (formerly Malben)
Gender: Male, but getting kinda creepily effeminate.
Age: 17
Organization: Protector, straight up to the end!
Class: The Demon Thief! Armed with dual blades, l33t acrobatic skills, and the occasional creepy powers!
Special Abilities: Task's access to holy relics became rather scarce to nonexistant when he became Task McCragge and has no official ties to anything anymore than the Mother of Hell and the forces that want to keep her alive in the face of the demonic alternative. However, his access to specific non-holy abilities, particularly demonic ones have increased ever since he and the parasitic demon hitching a ride on the magical seal between himself and a nameless, centuries old demon of pure rage. This understanding allows for a safer channel of the nameless's beings power, but more recently has lead to even 'safer' use of the parasite demon's powers, though much weaker, that at least don't threaten to implode reality.
IN this vein, Task has gained the ability to dissappear into shadows and re-emerge anywhere else there are shadows, by following links of darkness between shadows in a given place (he slinks into a shadow made by a bookcase, follows the shadows through dark cracks in the wall and into the unlit niches of the building, and pops out of the shadows in another shady room, or outside if it's nighttime.
Also: he is able to seemingly 'grow' his hair at length and use it as stabby tentacles. Also, when demony he doesn't wall run, he 'swims' up walls. It is creepy.
Bio: Task, an orphan, originally lived a boring thief-life before one day on a dare entered an abandoned house. Said house had recently been sealed off due to a demon summoning gone awry, but had yet to be cleaned up, the clean up taking extra precaution due to the sheer power of the demon being summoned, as it was feared a proper link was formed, a link that could reattach itself to a lifeform too easily. Long story short: Task became demon possessed, and timely efforts of a Society higher up saved his life and held the demon at bay with seals on every part of his body, and a headband relic that keeps his head clear of demonic influence. Otherwise,Task has the potential to be overcome with inhuman rage, go on a trail of destruction, before the sheer volume of demonic rage energy becomes too much for his body to handle and he explodes, and takes out a small city with him.
The Society member, knowing the hopelessness of the mother of hell's dillema, yet sympathetic to it, tasked Task with the act of using his powers and abilities to protect the Mother, as indeed with time Task proved the act of saving him a worthwhile deed. The society trained him and taught him all he knows with two instructors, and briefly gave him a life he had missed out on with an orphan.
When shit hit the fan, it became dangerous to harbor Task, who would not give up his new mission in life to protect the mother. Not wishing to turn on Task, or ask Task the impossible, the Higher up and his trainers said goodbye, and left Task on his own, not just because the threat of the Society turning on them, but because he had no further need of them anymore.
Following this, Task was adopted by the McCragge family, and is one of the mother's closest protectors. Though they all have to admit his midnight jaunts to raid the fridge are getting kinda creepy.
Lust Demon Bio: The demon that serves as the go between for Task and the Nameless Demon, a weak, parasitic demon that is both too weak to enter the human realm and too weak to fight it's way up the demonic food chain for power, merely surviving by clinging to the all powerful but immeasurably stupid Nameless Demon, and feeding off it's energy. When the link between Task and the Demon was formed, the Lust Demon capitalized upon it, and served to both strengthen it and take advantage of it, resulting in brief struggles between Task and a second personality. The Lust demon has no care for the death of the mother in hell, purely out of self preservation reasons: it's at the bottom of the barrel in the demon world, and if the demons came to Earth, it would still be at the bottom of the barrel. If it could possess Task, and this whole "mother of hell" thing came to a close, then it could live out the rest of it's existence in a vastly superior state than it is as a literal bottom feeder in hell.
As a demon new to the sensation of being human, this demon is very fond of human sensations, very particular ones. Hence, this demon is unofficially named the "lust demon."
Though not directly influencing Task for the majority of the time, Task has since been noticeably "looser" in actions and dress, and has a penchant for innuendo.
Weapons: Twin swords. (http://www.trueswords.com/product_lite.php?products_id=3662) Originally used more curvy blades, and even some holy relics, but they were eaten, and then exploded, and Task was never given holy relics again.
Notes: They are for what special considerations go with the game, as in it's a special edition, the game in question is only a demo, it's custom signed by some famous bloke, the disc is damaged, this isn't a retail copy, blar blar blar.
But getting back on Task: Task isn't too sure about these Wolves coming up to deal with what he considers a personal job and matter....because he's fairly sure he's done a pretty good job protecting someone who has become like a sister to him, and now these punks with all their special gear show up to replace people he'd respected before they left and or died.
Task should frequently be described as "creepy" by everyone who isn't creepy, or weird, but should also be called weird by people who are creepy and normal for eating breakfast in a crouched position on the dining table and dark encircled hands popping out of the shadows in the supply closet to grab more toilet paper.
That and that one time he was found stuck half naked, (the non naked half being a shredded sailor fuku) through the ceiling of the Mother's room, his head hanging down, complaining about something warm wet and sticky tickling his feet. The enemy responsible for this was dealt with, but Task never explained the fuku, and swiftly changes the subject when approached.

Character Name: Sherry Porter
Gender: Female
Age: 17 (older twin)
Organization: The Supernatural Elimination and Containment Agency
Class: Mother of Hell
Special Abilities: None
Bio: Born as the older twin sister of Cherry Porter, both daughters never got to know their parents before forces bent on using the Mother of Hell to evil ends slaughtered them both. Sherry and Cherry were saved from further tragedy and taken into the Society. Placed under the protection of SECA and the Society, Sherry remains under the direct protection of Duncan and her sister Cherry, who has undergone special training to be able to protect her sister from evil.
Equipment/Belongings: Just the clothes on her back and a halved pendant with the picture of her father.
Notes: They're both black. Don't sing the theme to Sister Sister around them unless you like open palm face slaps.
Character Name: Cherry Porter
Gender: Female
Age: 17 (younger twin)
Organization: The Supernatural Elimination and Containment Agency
Class: Human
Special Abilities: None
Bio: Cherry feels a strong responsibility towards the protection of her older sister, and has worked her body to exhaustion day in and day out in difficult training to be able to handle the difficulties of protecting the Mother of Hell. Cherry is very acrobatic and is great with various firearms (due to training, not being a black woman. Friggin' racists) and unorthodox melee weapons. She has a lean, mean frame. Some might say she's a little protective of her older sister. Neither girl has a boyfriend because Cherry scares away suitors going after either girl.
Equipment/Belongings
Cherry's Pendant: Half of a pendant with their mother in it. Sherry has the other half.
MPT-9K Submachine Guns: Cherry loves her twin submachine guns. She's a fan of rapid fire.
M16A2 Semiautomatic Rifle: Cherry feels comfortable holding the weight of this weapon in her hands.
Beretta 90-TWOs: Two handguns for dual-wielding.
Notes: Cherry has eventually settled on mastering karate. She just couldn't get good at taijutsu and kung fu.

Hopefully I wont get dragged away from the forums for a few months like the last time I played this guy!
Character Name: Airan Sicer (Eye-run Siy-s-er)
Gender: Male
Age: 21, it was his birthday a few weeks back. He didn't mention it to anyone, what with the massive demon attacks and everything...
Organization: Protector, part of the Sicer family which is pretty heavily involved in the Society
Class: Demon Hunter!
Special Abilities:
Danger sense: The Sicer line for at least the past few generations have been blessed with an inherent ?sense? which warns them of impending danger a few seconds ahead of time. Despite lacking any other psionic from the power rich blood from which he descends, Airan has honed this ability far better than anyone else possessing it currently.
Ace shot: He really is.
Quick Reload: Like many gunslingers across the ages, Airan has mastered the nonchalant, speedy gun reload. As long as he has ammo left, he's not likely to be out of action for longer than a second at worst.
Hand-to-hand: While not being good enough to last even a second against a master, all Sicer heirs are taught basic martial arts for situations where they have no other options. Not that this does much good against demons or magic slingers. Still, Airan is faster and stronger than your average human.
Bio: The Sicer family has been fighting The Dark as part of the society for centuries, and almost all heirs to the line have gone on to be at least notable demon hunters, endowing it with a reputation for strength and battle prowess. The fact that each generation has managed to survive long enough to sire the next is a testament to how well deserved this reputation is.
The current head of the family, Sir. Carlton Sicer, a remarkable demon hunter himself in his younger days, who now holds a fair amount of sway within the society, had three children. The first was the noble son, the born demon hunter, the first born, you know the type. He was named Adam, because his father thought the name fitting, and his mother had no objections. The second was also a son, who his mother, declaring it was her turn to pick a name, called Airan, a name she had picked up on her travels with Sir Sicer so long ago. The final child was a daughter, who was named Sophia by both her parents in mutual agreement (something reached by hours of research and many more hours of arguing).
As the years went on, Adam displayed a natural mastery of the psionic powers his line was famous for, and proved to be every bit the heroic demon hunter he seemed destined to be. Legends began circulating that he saved damsels in distress, villages haunted by ancient evils, and misunderstood street urchins by the boat load. Many a time was he the single deciding factor holding the tide against a deranged warlord seeking to conquer the world. And he managed it all in time for tea. All of this was an exaggeration, of course, but not by very much. He was, in every aspect, a hero.
Airan... was not so fortunate. His Psionic abilities barely manifested, and were it not for his danger sense, one of the oldest, if not that strong, powers of the Sicer line, it was as if he lacked a single drop of his famous heritage. A great deal of time was spent analysing him, seeing if there was some way to fix whatever problem had occurred, and Airan himself worked hard for years, before it was eventually given up as hopeless. In all that time, no progress was made, save for a fair amount of honing on his danger sense. Angered by his lack of progress and his parents clear disappointment with him, especially in comparison to his brother (and to a lesser extent his sister, who was displaying the same competency with psionics as her oldest brother had), Airan devoted himself to another method of fighting. Namely, he abandoned powers for technology. He began to seek out the best training he could find outside of military service in the art of gun fighting.
And to his happy surprise he found that he was good at it. Within months he was an ace shot with a pistol. A few more and he was an ace with two. And he continued to train harder and harder, until he could hit a target dead centre 90 yards away dead centre with one eye closed 4 times out of 5. He studied and gained competency with a large selection of weaponry, large and small, though he was at his best keeping it simple with his pistols. The Sicers were demon hunters, and he had ever had any intention of being something else.
And then, something tragic happened. Adam, ever the hero, gave his life in a noble strike at a powerful demon, killing it with his final breath. The memorial service was held a week later, the body sadly unrecoverable. And privately other families of the society began to talk of how weak the Sicer house had become with the loss of their main heir. Oh, it would probably rise again in a generation or two, and the girl was certainly good at what she did, if not quite the hero Adam had been, but it had certainly suffered a great loss. Very little was said of Airan, and almost none of it was positive, and more than a little through questions on his true parentage. And though they never voiced such thoughts aloud in his company, it showed in their eyes none the less.
It would not have been so bad if he didn't see the same thoughts echoed in his parents (minus the issues of who his true parents were, his mother remembered his birth damn well, and his father never questioned her loyalty). His admittedly large number of success against the dark meant little in the shadow of his brothers legacy. And so he volunteered to guard the chosen, a mission that was certain to be nearly as dangerous as hell itself, and potentially morally challenging to an extreme. He's been doing so for a few years now, pretending to be a few years younger than he actually is to be in the same classes as the chosen.
Then things went to hell. As the demon attacks intensified and his fellow protectors departed one by one, killed in the line of duty, Airan survived only by sheer determination and bloody-mindedness. If he died, he'd fail the mission, and his brother would always be better than him. Like hell he'd let that happen.
Then others started to leave, as their orders of recall came in. Airan himself received a message from his father ordering him to come home immediately the day after the first protector left. He spent an hour reading it and thinking on his course of action alone in his room, before burning the note and glaring at anyone else who decided to leave. If he left, he'd fail the mission.
Besides, he'd grown fond of the ones he was protecting. Even if he figured the Mother's sister was a crazy woman.
He has black hair and reddish-brown eyes that are easy to mistake for pure red. He generaly wears standard clothes for a teenager, though he does wear baggy clothes to hide his gunbelt in public. He knows the basics of Hand to hand combat, plus a few major weapon forms, like sword and bow staff, thingss that any demon hunter family would train in, but only the basics. He's better than a drunken bar braler, but against anyone with decent skill in combat, he's not going to do so well.
Equipment/Belonging: Guns guns, and more guns! 2 pistols strapped to his ammo belt around his waist, with one loaded backup hidden inconspicuously between his shoulder blades. On official business he carries his assault rifle on his back, and while he's fond of the thing, he usually leaves the sniper rifle at home or in the car unless it's needed. Naturally he keeps a variety of specialised ammo on him at all times for more difficult threats.
Notes: Replacing all mention of magic with Psionics is tricky work, but the character rides again!
Ho hum, what else did I miss? Oh, Airan's English, the Sicer estate's over there. His accent's rather crisp, but he trys to reign it in in public, since it draws attention.

Name: Sam McCloud
Gender: Male
Age: 36
Organization: Big Bad Wolf
Class: Combat Specialist
Special Abilities:
Werewolf: Sam is a werewolf, bitten at the age 23 and developed into some mean spirited in that aspects. He has some heightened senses and strengths during the day, about double n average human. During the night when he under goes his transformations his senses, strength and speed increase six times his normal levels. Being a werewolf he is very hard to kill. Silver bullets in the heart or brain and decapitation will kill him. He also has a drive for raw meat while a vampire and suffers from over aggression.
Close Combat Specialist: Trained by the military and then adapted further to take advantage of his increased strength and speed. Quick Reflexes and Amazing Strength combined with sword play make for a deadly warrior. His preferred method of fighting is a pistol and sword. Although when he transforms he would rather rend the enemies with his claws then anything else.
Bio/Background: Sam was an army brat. Father was a soldier, his father?s father was a soldier and so on. He grew up around bases and was given a pistol at the age 6. He was Junior Marksman of the year twice at the bases between army children. He was also skilled in hand to hand combat. Not great mind you, but enough to at least make the semi-finals in each year he entered the contests held.
When he came of age he joined the military with the hopes of continuing his families tradition. He made it through basic training as one of the top recruits and was assigned to front line infantry. He served well and distinguished for a number of years, even becoming sergeant. Then everything went wrong. His unit was performing a routine patrol when they got attacked by?something? his squad was slaughtered in no time and Sam barely lived. The thing that attacked him ran off before it could finish Sam off. After spending weeks recuperating from the attack he noticed he started to change. He became far more aggressive and was becoming stronger as well, plus is sense of smell became sharper and he could see clearer and farther then he ever could before. Then one night he transformed into a Werewolf.
Realizing his future was over he fled and looked for a place he could belong. He came across info about Big Bad Wolf and joined up, putting his new abilities to work and making sure he wasn?t overly hunted by people, as long as he followed the rules. No one really cares what happens to a corpse of an enemy after their dead after all.
Equipment: 2 Berreta 92 Pistols, 1 on right waist and 1 on right boot. 1 Katana and 1 Wakazashi, both on his left waist. 1 MP5 submachine gun should the mission require more fire power.

Character Name: Richard Miles
Gender: Male
Age: 35
Organization: SECA, Protector.
Class: Special Agent
Special Abilities:
Military Training: Those five years were a rather big part of his life after all. He was an Intelligence Specialist and was taught investigatory techniques, interrogation techniques, a bit of torture, as well as a bit of clerical skill. Before he had left he had basic hand to hand combat training given to everyone going boots to ground and had marksmanship ribbons in both rifle and pistol. If only because he thought it would look good on his uniform.
Marksman: After the incident he built up his personal skill at firearms to a far greater degree. He knows how to wield a rifle well enough but his best work is in pistols, an old habit due to the easy of sneaking around a pistol is far greater than that of other weapons.
Hand To Hand: On top of his military training he began working heavily in improving his abilities in hand to hand combat. He figures that having all the strength of a demon is fine, but if you can't actually hit the person it is all for naught.
Tactical Mind: Richard has no psychic abilities and yet has somehow survived this long as a Protector. He blames it mostly on this. He can think on his feet and try to find a way to take out enemies that might otherwise kill him. Let this be as complex as filling the air with debris so that the folks that walk through walls accidentally suffocate themselves, or as basic as driving a car into a demon the size of a small train. Either way he will try to think his way out of just about anything.
Undercover Agent: Richard has been trained to infiltrate. Because more often than not the best way to break up that demonic cult is to get in close and ruin every event until everyone says it is bogus and you make it look like the leader overdosed on heroin in the alley. If properly prepared he can typically fit in anywhere. Or if he happens to find someone he can knock out who wears the same size clothes as him.
Bio: To begin his real name isn't Richard Miles but -classified- born in -classified- to his parents -classified- who for the most part kept his childhood dark with constant arguments that at times came to blows as well as their general neglect of him growing up. He found that life in his family, no matter which member, shared in this strange chaos of mutual hate and passionate attachment. The longer he stared at it the more it made him sick. He needed to find a way out of chaos as soon as he could to a place where order was king.
He found it in the military.
A soldier in the -classified- branch of the US military he was sent as a job in intelligence, but rather than cracking codes and messages he was sent to crack people. He was rather good at it, reprogramming the brainwashed, interrogating the weak willed, torture of the strong willed. It was all a fine thing for him. It would seem that his calling was in the works of intelligence, and for keeping him away from his parents he planned to stay in the military a long time.
Of course then he met -classified- a strange man believed to have secrets of a strange cult that had captured and murdered a soldier in -classified-. He figured out later the S.E.C.A. had assumed this a terrorist event since there had been no sign of a demon coming forth thus far.
The strange man would prove this to be false.
Not long into the proceedings the man began speaking it what appeared to be nonsense but one of the codebreakers revealed was ancient Hebrew, he would swing about wildly and scream at him. The room would grow hot. The man would cackle loud. Suddenly he would fall silent. Then it all went to hell.
The man had been a hybrid, a slowly changing hybrid but one nonetheless. It had hurled him through the two way mirror and begun its havok on the small base. Men attempted to accost it but these soldiers had barely had any sort of conventional arms training, they were eggheads after all. Most of the men were killed, Richard barely got away at all. Saved as it was by his initial unconsciousness, the distraction of the initial attempt to constrain then kill the beast, but most of all by the arrival of the S.E.C.A.
No longer blind to the knowledge of these things he was accepted into the S.E.C.A. as an Agent, a literal man in black set with dealing with outbreaks like the one he experienced. He honed his use of guns. He learned how to use his hands better. He asked questions about how to kill them. He showed his worth in the field and so he was assigned to be a member of the Protectors.
It hasn't been long since he started, but things have gone downhill for a while. Ever since SECA officially removed their support special ordinance has been impossible to come by. To be honest the weapons he does get have been primarily for old times sake, but he has been here too long to fall out now.
He is ready to see this through to the end, even if it means losing his job.
Equipment/Belonging:
One Desert Eagle Mark XIX using .50 AE cartiges.
One CZ 75b using 9mm ammo with extended capacity magazine.
Pure black Ford Crown Victoria Interceptor with tinted windows.
In the back is a FN Scar assault rifle.
Notes: The hiring of BBW isn't exactly grand to Richard. It plays on two points of awkward really. The first being his long time involvement in SECA, which involves the sequences where he has killed, captured, or tortured non-humans. Playing along side the sort makes him itchy. The second is the whole mercenary group thing altogether. His time in the military has permanently instilled into his head that rent-a-guns don't quite measure up to someone who has something emotionally invested in the situation.

Character Name: Abdul-Rahim, but his friends and co-workers call him Abdul.
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Organization: Protectors, also the Guardians
Class: Decoy
Special Abilities:
Illusions: Abdul has an innate ability to make people believe what he wants. He can alter sight, sound, and smell. He focuses and forms an image in his head of wha he wants to change, and everyone within 50 yards of himself. He can use this to distract, disorientate, and disguise. When he makes it, its fairly easy to control the illusions movements. There's a limit though. He can't make a local park into a glacier. It only affects a few things. About three or four factors. at a time.
Traps: In conjunction with his illusions, Abul has a variety of traps and tricks at his disposal. He carries a number land mines, trip wires, nets, and even some flash bombs to keep enemies at by and in harm. It takes him little time to find an area and set it. Considering his position as decoy, it can be quite useful.
Running: Self-explanatory. His position as target has made him quite good at pacing himself. He's sort of like Rincewind.
Bio: Abul was no one. He was born in the worst parts of the middloe with no home, and soon enough no family. It was just him and his little brother. Obviously, things weren't going to improve themselves any time soon, so Abdul decided to take initiative. When he was age 16 he too his brother and they made their way out of the City and to the desert, hoping to get somewhere with an air-port, or at least somewhere marginally better. It was here that Abdul started being somebody, at a cost.
The two made good progress and time, using supplies that they had stolen, and continued their trek. Unfortunately, Abdul thought it would be a good idea to deviate from the road. It would get them to where they needed sooner, a shortcut. He was dead wrong. They were lost. Meandering aimlessly, trying to get back on track, the two came upon an odd sight. People. They were all in dark cloaks with hoods, around a big circle. They grabbed and blindfolded the two, and carted them off to God knows where.
When Abdul awoke, he found himself in an eery cathedral, he was still tied up and gagged, but he could see. The cloaked figures were suttounding something. An alter of sorts. It took a while for Abdul to see what was happening. His brother was on the alter. He tried to scream, tried to escape his ties and do something, but it was all for naught. They killed his brother and used him as a sacrifice for a summoning.
They were probably about to do the same to Abdul himself, but the guardians arrived and intervened, if too late for his brother. The guardians were similar to the Society, only their purpose was different in one particular way: their job was to make sure that knowledge of Demon's and the supernatural was a secret to as many as possibele. This included many of the governments of the area. Their main HQ was located in Israel, and they had several others scattered along the middle east, and one small station in America.
After being rescued, Abdul was more or less forced to join them, to keep the word closed. He was going to be delegated to mostly desk work and filing, but they found that he was actually capable off more. He was able to affect the senses through his abilities. They naturally moved him to training, and he had served as decoys, trackers and other such roles for a while with them. There is no part he won't play, and no mission he won't take.
With the Mother of Hell appearing though, things are changing a bit. In a bid to gain some influence, they have shipped Abdul off to America when he was about 22. He's managed to use quick thinking to survive as a protector for a while now. So far, the Guardians haven't sent word for him to pull out yet, but they may act.
Equipment/Belonging:
Traps: Abdul carries a satchel around with him full of these. He has ropes, trip wires, nets, stakes and even landmines and flash bombs. How he uses them can vary. He is a quick thinker though, he typically finds some good uses for everything. Orthodox or not.
Jeep: Abdul's premiere form of travel. Not much special about it. Just a car.
Swiss army knife: It has stuff in it. Screw driver, knife blade, scissors, and even a nail file.
Duster: Abdul's badass longcoat. Just like in the movies.
Notes: Abdul greatly enjoys America. He hasn't been there too long, but he already considers it home. He considers himself one to. His accent rarely shows itself, only when he's nervous. He is also a big fan of movies, his favorite is Men In Black, needless to say, he looks forward to working with SECA. He also is willing to use his illusions for silly and frivolous reasons at the drop of a hat. He is like a magical prop-comic. In fact, when nothing is going on, he likes to make a false top-hat, for no real reason. Just because.
---------
Here he is, Abdul-Rahim. He is sort of useless, but his purpose is mostly comedic relief. I do remember the thing last time where the illusions don't affect demons, I hope your willing to change that for Psionics. He also has little to no sense of direction.
In conjunction with his disguises, Abdul has several false identities and personalities. He even has fake I.D.s for them.
Don't worry about vetoing it though, I have several character designs and choices. I can change it.
Loki, The Fallen

Name: "Bloody" David Amnell
Gender: Male
Age: Maybe 22, he's not sure.
Home: Adelaide, Australia
Current Residence: Not Adelaide Australia
Organization: Protector, Crimson Lotus
Class: Psychic, Hemakeneticist
Special Abilities:
Make 'em Bleed: David can focus on a target within a dozen yards of him and cause their blood to cease clotting and thin, causing profuse bleeding from tiny wounds.
Blood Density Manipulation: Can cause small amounts of blood to solidify, with strenght comparable to steel. The controlled blood can also have it's density reduced, having it behave closer to a gas then a liquid.
Blood Kinetics: David is capable of manipulating the position and shape of 'liberated' blood from a significant distance, having an amount fly about as he wishes. He is also capable of disrupting the circulatory systems of a single target at a time within a few yards, causing air bubbles, forcing the blood through thin membranes, or even pushing blood counter to normal circulation.
Universal Blood Receiver: An ability unique to him, David is able to make use of any blood as his own to flow within his circulatory system, regardless of presence or absence of inherited antigenic compounds.
Awaken Blood: After concentrating on a target, David can cause the blood to temporarily awaken, and attempt to leave the target's body as violently as possible.
Blood Brand: David is able to draw on his skin with his own blood. This requires David to trace the symbol/figure/letters on his skin with his fingers. The blood rises near the surface, looking like a bruise in the shape drawn. A fan of body art, David has been known to use this for disguises, or just for cool temporary tattoos, and even note taking.
Bio: Soon after birth, David was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder that gave him few years to live. His parents were given a choice of instant hospitalization, where he would be kept for years of research with a slight chance of cure, or have a normal life, with the possibility that he would die quite young. His parents, both unable to afford the constant hospitalization and unwilling to subject their child to a life of imprisonment, decided not to tell David. Instead, they allowed his grandfather to raise him.
David's grandfather was an unexceptional psychic, capable of rather weak heat control. He saw potential in David, and tried to coax out David's power. One day while preparing the evening meal, David managed to cut himself with a can lid. Normally an injury of this sort with his disease would constitute a medical emergency, but David found himself able to consciously stop the flow of his blood from the wound. His family was ecstatic, David would be able to have some sort of normal life with the ability to control his condition.
Soon after he discovered his ability to control his blood, his entire demeanor changed. His personality became darker, and mysterious deaths of rodents concerned his family. Finally, a classmate's mysterious Heart Attack raised suspicions, especially those of his grandfather. Disowned by his family, he ran away from home.
David resurfaced in the United States 8 years later, and joined a demon hunting clan known as the 'Crimson Lotus'. Not as much an official organization as it was a gang of social outcasts and victims of demons, they operated on the hairy edge of the law, killing demons for personal vengeance, or simply for the thrill. While David was not particularly strong, or an exceptional shot with a firearm, he found his ability to manipulate his own blood as a weapon, and to use his own powers to manipulate his target's blood to be exceptionally useful, especially for assassinations, or simply to cause suffering to mankind's enemies.
Equipment/Clothing: When not required to blend in for missions, David typically wears an Oilcloth Duster and an Akubra. Under those he prefers simple dark colored shirts with Death-Metal Band logos and Black Jeans. He conceals a variety of knives and other sharp melee weapons inside the Duster, along with a Fabrique Nationale P90. (He's a horrible shot, so David's response, "Just need more bullets.") On covert missions, David tries to conceal some sort of sharp object within his disguise, typically trying to exploit his ability to force small wounds to bleed profusely.
David managed to acquire a used cruiser style motorcycle, and will drive that whenever walking is not feasible.

Hey Toast! I noticed there's no description or appearance section in these bios.
Do you care about that?
I do have a character outlined already, but, since this whole crossover mess was my idea,* I feel like I really should join whichever group needs extra man power. Consequently, I'm designing a second character as we speak.
If she doesn't pan out though, my first one could probably work in either group.
* Until Toasty decides he wants to take credit for it at least.

Hey Toast! I noticed there's no description or appearance section in these bios.
Yeah...I noticed that not to long about myself. I will admit that I didn't do that on purpose, but I'm not too worried about it. People tend to describe their character as much or as little as they like, anyways.
And if you want, you can totally take credit for the whole crossover idea. I'd rather have a ready made scape-goat for if it doesn't work than to take the credit if it does. :p
Also, at this point, I think we have plenty of Protectors (who are supposed to be relatively few at this point), so I would STRONGLY SUGGEST THAT ANY NEW SIGN-UP SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER GOING BIG BAD WOLF. This isn't a requirement...but I would appreciate it.
Anyways...character creation nazi time!
Krylo: Approved, but just remember that Nick needs to follow orders every once in a while. He wouldn't of been hired if he was a complete loose cannon.
PryosNine: I'm nervous about the shadow-walking ability. It smells like teleportation, and stuff like that is always easy to abuse.
Not that I think you would, mind you, but I gots be fair, right?
And could you clarify "shoot hair" and "elongate limbs"? Hair like a blow dart? Bullet? Rocket? And how long do your limbs get: just a little bit, or full blown Protoype style whipfist?
AB: Looks good. And before anyone asks, AB had permission to use two characters...since one is the relatively helpless MoH.
Steel Shadow: Overall approved, but let it be known that I am mildly paranoid about "danger sense"...especially since it is hard to pull off unless you know what is going to happen (llike, say, the GM). Try not to overdo it too much, please.
krogothwolf: You're going for a bit much, I think. I don't mind you going down the werewolf path (after all, the CEO of Big Bad Wolf Limited is a werewolf), but being a werewolf that is skilled in swordplay and just so happened to be sniper before he got bit is...stretching it, me thinks. Also, since Mr. Grey is a werewolf, I already had a werewolf mythos/powers/abilities and stuff in mind. I'll PM you the ideas I had for werewolves, and you can adjust your character, and we can pick it up from there.
Overcast: Approved.
Bard: Nice to see we don't have to have the illusions vs. demons discussion again. We'll say that illusions are mildly effective against demons (will confuse them for a bit)...but don't worry about that too much. There will be plenty of non-demonic people for you to use illusions against this time around.
Loki: ...I don't know if I am entirely on board with this. I'm fine with the general idea...but it seems a bit overpowered in the sense of "I look at something, and it has a heart attack and dies!" or "I harden the blood in that demon so that it can't move, and then it dies because, yo, it's heart isn't pumping blood." It just seems like your character has a few too many ways to insta-kill almost anything. Like I said, I'm not against the idea on principle, and I could be reading into it wrong...but I could use some convincing that David isn't overpowered.
PyrosNine (note 2):
Well, I couldn't use the old name, and y'know, it sounds right.

We're talking nothing luffy scale, more ghosty, nightmare scale. Like that creepy ghost that kidnapped that kid in Ghostbusters 2. In a room, enemy thinks he's got a good distance.
But I think I might cull it in favor of the hair thing, where it becomes very sharp and poky, and grows just as much as the stretching thing, and is capable of stabbing people. it doesn't get shot, that would be ludicrous.
Oh, I'm okay with it. I just had visions of your first post being something along the lines of "Task knocks on the front door, and Duncan answers.

I might be overstepping here, but I'm a little concerned about Abdul's illusions, balance-speaking. It seems like they'll either end up as useless or over-powered, given the lack of in-system counter.
Like, how would a regular NPC deal with them?
Not really my problem since he's on my side, but, that was the first thing I thought of when I was reading it.

...I could use some convincing that David isn't overpowered.
...I don't know if I can. I stole the concept from 3.0 Tome and Blood, and while in D&D most of those abilities would give a saving throw or just do a significant amount of damage, looking at it again it's kind of hard in an RP to say 'Your blood explodes out of all of your orifices, you take 5d6 Damage.'
Maybe demonic physiology could have aspects where sudden circulatory system failure would not be instant death, rather it would be a really strong attack against them. Maybe reducing the range of the attack can help balance it, requiring any death-type attack to have a range of 'touch'. As Davey is a caster type, and human, closing with a powerful enemy like a demon could be quite dangerous. Or even limiting the amount of blood I could control inside demons may help, since a small amount solidifying may not hinder something with the otherworldly powers demons may have.
Or perhaps even making it impossible for me to control blood within a demon, just have me able to use their blood for external applications. Their skin could shield them from my power, requiring the target to be wounded before I can control their blood.
Or maybe I have to have a sample of their blood type in my system before I can control it. This would make it difficult to effect newly discovered or rare targets, but demons I have previously fought would be very susceptible to my powers.
This still leaves Blood control very powerful against any normal mortal targets though. This may be a problem if a lot of our enemies are Human-ish.
I liked the concept and would love to play it, but given how overpowered it could be, I have no problems building a different PC. (I even came up with a new concept this morning, so I can switch out to that.)

Its probably not going to be to that overpowered, except for maybe against humans. As TB said 'mildly effective against demons'. I also covered that he can't go and turn a schoolyard in the freakin' arctic tundra. Its just a few thing at a time. He's mostly just the silly guy.
Although I may be willing to make a character in the Big Bad Wolf and just do away with Abdul. I've already some ideas in mind for a different character.

Other limitations I'd suggest for Abdul--No making illusions within... let's say a foot of someone.
Reason being the old D&D trick where you just illusion up a bag or iron mask or whatever over someone's head and/or making yourself perfectly invisible (illusion of no scent, no sound, no smell over himself).
Might not be too useful against demons, but it'd be just about as overpowered as stopping all the blood in someone's body against mortals.
Other than that, though, it seems like a fine power to me. But what do I know? And I couldn't complain about having another wolf.

Steel Shadow: Overall approved, but let it be known that I am mildly paranoid about "danger sense"...especially since it is hard to pull off unless you know what is going to happen (llike, say, the GM). Try not to overdo it too much, please.
You're always paranoid about my abilities! You keep this up and I'll stop making any easily abusable powers at all!
If it helps, there's restrictions. It only alerts him of danger to himself, not everyone else in whatever group he's in, and it's only a "Danger, danger!" kind of warning, he doen't know where it's coming from automatically.

That's what I was worried about. I was under the impression that the majority of our non-boss-class enemies will be humans, if there's no way for them to get around Abdul's illusions it makes things a bit unfair, you know? Honestly, I'd be a lot less critical if the illusions just required focus on his part. Or something stupid like that.
But maybe I'm going overboard, I'm not sure what sort of illusions you had in mind. Not to mention Infrared goggles would make the illusions ineffective, so maybe that's sufficient balance as it is.
Anyway, Bio time!
* * * Bio Time! * * *
Character Name: Azure "Kit" Fabre
Gender: Male, mostly.
Age: Don't ask.
Organization: Big Bad Wolf Limited
Class: Kit.
Special Abilities: He's a young Kitsune (only one tail) which, functionally, makes him a Pyrokinetic who can get dressed for any occasion in one minute or less. But to break it down...
Fox Fire: Pyrokinesis by any another name, with a few differences. He can't directly manipulate or create heat, but, can generate and control both fire and light - which makes heat, but that's not the point. Consequently he can't do things like make boil blood or melt something at a distance. He can however make heatless blasts of fire, or change its color. When he tries to control normal fire, it turns blue.
Shapeshifting: As a Kitsune, he can change his physical appearance. He does have a preferred state, but some missions require a different touch - as long as the shape's within the realm of humanity, Azure can change into it with sufficient focus. He can use this ability to generate clothing on his own body as well, but it vanishes if he gets incapacitated or intoxicated.
Beast Form: Technically a subsection of Shapeshifting, Azure can turn into a normal looking fox. Becoming a fox is easy and fast - at the cost of whatever he's wearing - but changing back takes more time. His Fox Fire is more limited, but he heals faster in this state (small cuts vanish, broken bones repair in a matter of hours, limbs can be regrown in a few days, etc) foreign material like bullets slow the process.
Other: Like most canine sub-humans, Azure has an enhanced sense of smell, hearing and is more athletic than most humans. That really just means that strong smells and loud noises affect him more than others, and that, if he ever ends up on the front lines, he's be able to, "Dodge, dodge, do- die." People focus too much on the positives of those things, in his opinion.
Bio: Born in Japan over a century ago, Azure was found injured in a public park by the daughter of a pair of Society members and taken in as a pet. He was taken back to America with them some weeks later - it was a Customs nightmare - and lived with the family for ten years as an average fox. By then, he'd matured enough to begin to realize that, uh, he wasn't a regular fox.
So, one thing lead to another, and another ten years later, the girl's (now a college student) parents found an extremely naked - attractive - young, tailed, red haired man raiding their fridge one night.
Once the dishes and psionic bolts stopped flying, the couple decided that, since he'd been around the house for twenty years now, they might as well keep him. Both were familiar with the paranormal, which helped. He was eventually introduced to the Society by them, who sent him back to Japan to learn how to use his Kitsune powers - they didn't have the resources for that on hand to deal with him anyway.
Another score years of painfully slow training later, he'd gotten enough of a hold on his abilities to return to America - and promptly disappear off the map. It wasn't so much that he didn't like the Society, or appreciate what they'd done, but he really wasn't interested in working a serious job right after he'd finished training. So! He had fun.
He would have had more fun if he didn't seem perpetually cursed to end up around the paranormal. Dodging demons, the Society, angry SECA members (it wasn't his fault that a couple of the people he slept with ended up mysteriously dead), trigger happy Vigilantes (sub-humans are not demons!) and speciesist Religious Organizations was a good way to kill time though.
It was during an extended period of absolutely nothing interesting happening around him that he bumped into a certain Mr. Grey, on his way back from the mall. He hadn't meant to follow the mysterious guy home. Just like he hadn't meant to end up with a gun pointed at his head by a scary looking bodyguard lady.
Kit still doesn't know how he talked his way out of that one. In retrospect, he wondered if the bodyguard lady (was her name Natalia Summers?) was a mind reader, because one minute his life was flashing before his eyes, and the next, he had a job offer.
Given the choice between what he was sure would be a firing squad style execution and working for an apparently prestigious mercenary company, Kit elected to join Big Bad Wolf Limited. Being able to change his appearance at will was probably the main reason they'd kept him alive - it really was a useful trick.
Kit's not sure how he feels about this whole, "Guard the Mother of Hell," assignment he's working on now. But he's learned how to be Professional (to hear him tell it) since he joined BBW, so, he's trying not to show that. Only time will tell if this assignment's worth his going beyond the call of money for, but it probably won't be.
If this Mother of Hell died, he'd probably be around to see the next one.
Equipment/Belonging: He carries a handgun, in the event his psionic abilities stop being useful for some reason. That said, he loses the thing a lot and isn't very good with it besides, so its not customized.
A lot of Kit's paychecks go toward his wardrobe, which he keeps extensive and diverse. Unfortunately, he usually loses at least one set of clothes by the end of every mission, which means he's out shopping a lot.
Notes:
Prefers to be called Kit, only old or boring people call him Azure.
Can't get rid of his tail, which is long and luxurious, no matter what form he takes. When in public he usually turns it invisible and/or hides it under his clothes. He hasn't mastered that ability beyond use on the tail, but he is trying.
Eyes glow a chaotic blend of blues when he uses his Kitsune powers.

Loki: Honestly, if you already have another character in mind, it might be easier just to write up that instead of us trying to nerf the blood guy. Less of a headache all around, I'd wager.
Bard: Honestly, I though illusion guy would be underpowered, but I seem to be in the minority here. So how about we add in Krylo's rule, and in the same vein, have the illuisons be less convincing the closer the target is to them. If you don't like that, go ahead and write up a new character if you want.
Steel: Then stop having powers I'm paranoid about!
Teal: Looks alright. Your shapeshifting ability is basically just a disguise skill, right? And the fox is just a normal fox (well...at least not a giant monster fox)? If that is so, you are approved.

Yes to both.
The Shapeshifting thing's a physical change within limits - he can't get super strong or gain a lot of weight with a shift. It might look like he does, but fundamentally, his physical attributes stay the same with the exception of height and width. Clothes are real in appearance and texture, but he can't make anything stronger than cloth and can't change to anything ('cept the fox) at the drop of a hat.
Beast form's a better transformation over all since his physical dimensions completely shift to match a puppy-sized fox. Beyond what I mentioned in the bio, it's just a normal fox though.
But you have the right idea.

Hmm, I'm debating a bit of an artillery type character; a telekinetic who uses that for personal shielding and to shoot people, plus possibly a few other miscellanous tricks. It's visible because her ability leaks electromagnetic radiation, also meaning electronics are... a problem. Also thinking of a 'psi-amp' for bursts of bigger stuff, which is probably your good old crystal on a stick.
The fact that shooting demons with blasts fired from a magical staff is classed as psionics may be a berserk button.

Name: Robert Raymond Winchester, The Fourth
Gender: "Guy Parts"
Age: 25
Organization: Big Bad Wolf Limited
Class: Martial Artist
Special Abilities:
Martial Arts Expertise: Mr. Winchester is a student of Jeet Kun Do, and has integrated many different martial arts into his own form:
Bagua Zhang
Tai Chi Chuan
Wing Chun
Systema
Sambo
Boxing
Gracie Jiu-Jitsu
MCMAP
Mr. Winchester has also trained in using a specialized Combat Shotgun and integrating that into his close-quarters combat style.
Exceptional Strength and Agility: Mr. Winchester was raised in an environment where the strong and swift survived and lead. Instead of concentrating on typical schooling, Mr. Winchester was constantly training to become stronger and faster then anyone in his family. His strength and agility are nearly super-natural.
Tranquil Rage: Falling back on his training and study of Zen, Mr. Winchester is capable of entering "The Zone", where he is capable of entering a 'Way Way Trance" as he refers to it. (It is assumed that he is referring to the concept of Wu Wei, a concept of Taoism, action without 'acting'). His already exceptional strength and speed is improved, in addition to acting completely on instinct to the point of responding faster then a normal human would. On first view it appears to be a type of Barbarian Rage given the brutality he typically engages in, but in this trance Mr. Winchester shows no sign of anger, in fact he has more of a vacant look.
Bio: Robert Raymond Winchester, The Fourth, known by his family and close friends as 'Bobby-Ray', grew up in a small Appalachian village in Tennessee. Bobby-Ray was raised by an economical disadvantaged extended family, and was not properly educated early in life. When it was apparent Bobby-Ray didn't have the mental capacity for mathematics and "book learnin'", his Step-Uncle Huo Lee took it upon himself to teach the young boy Martial Arts, primarily Jeet Kun Do, and instruct him in Eastern Philosophy.
Huo had hoped that the instruction would help Bobby-Ray with his normal studies. Instead, Bobby-Ray pursued Martial Arts with a reckless abandon often seen in those who discover an oasis in a desert while dying of thirst. He found he was a natural at many of the concepts, and once he had developed a proficiency in his uncle's styles, he set out at 18 (Having recently graduated the eighth grade) to study more styles to help refine his own.
On his journey of self refinement, he soon discovered Big Bad Wolf Limited, and applied for a job.
Excerpt from the applicant's interview:
Interviewer: So, Mr. Winchester, why do you wish to be employed by BBW Limited?
Robert Raymond Winchester: Are ya kiddin'? Yer' willin' to pay me cash to hit thin's and blow stuff up? Fer cash? Whar do I sign?
Equipment/Belongings/Description: Mr. Winchester was born "The Runt of the Litter". He was smaller then all of his siblings until he started training with Huo Lee. Currently he is a bear of a man, at 6'4" with shoulders nearly as wide, and is deceptively agile for a man his size. He keeps his hair cut close in nearly a crew cut, and is always clean shaven. He typically wears a white sweat stained A-Shirt under a flannel button down shirt (With it's sleeves and buttons torn off) along with combat pants and boots. When dressing up he will usually buy a new A-Shirt and replace his normal flannel shirt with one that is only missing it's sleeves.
Weapons wise, Mr. Winchester nearly exclusively carries two Custom Benelli M4 Super 90s, utilizing reinforced Titanium-Steel for most of the construction. This alloy is different from typical blends, concentrating instead on extra strength with little regard for weight. The barrel exterior is octagonal in shape instead of smooth, and all surfaces are polished chrome (with exception of the grips). Other modifications include an increase in round size (to 8 Gauge) and replacing the tube magazine with an external 10 shot clip design. These are carried in shoulder harness worn over his flannel. He is known to enjoy the use of explosives, but is currently on a two week ban from using them due to an unfortunate incident.

Character Name: Jack Chorster
Gender: Male
Age: 28
Organization: Big Bad Wolf Limited
Class: Addict
Special Abilities: The effects of the blood Jack drinks differs on the kind of demon. He keeps his fridge stacked with Lesser Demon blood, as well as Demonic Hybrids and Blood Summoned demons. Due to the rarity of their appearances, he has never had Greater Demon or Outcast blood. As such, he has no idea what their effects on him would be. The powers he gains only last for so long, varying from the type of demon the blood came from. He can go two days on Lesser Demons, a day on Blood Summoned and less than 24 hours on Demonic Hybrids. If the effects pass and he hasn't ingested demon blood again, Jack crashes, the severity varying depending on the type of blood he last drank.
Enhanced senses: After ingesting demon blood, Jack's senses are enhanced. His eyesight is sharper, hearing is keener, smell is more accute. Under Lesser demon blood, it's three times increase. For Demonic Hybrids, it's six times. When it comes to Blood Summoned demons, it varies depending on the sacrifice, but Jack usually carries blood from a Blood Summoned human sacrifice, which grants him around five times enhancement.
Enhanced Strength, Speed, Endurance: Under the effects of demon blood, Jack becomes stronger, faster and tougher.
Demon sense: Due to his extended exposure to their blood, Jack can sense the presence of demons (well, their blood) in a 20-mile radius.
Hand-to-hand fighting: To use the advantage granted to him by demon blood to the fullest extent, Jack has trained himself to be excellent at hand-to-hand combat.
Weapons expert: To use the advantage granted to him by demon blood to the fullest extent, Jack has mastered the use of several close-range and long-range weapons. He's an expert using swords, knives and polearms, as well as hanguns, rifles and shotguns.
Bio: Jack was a perfectly normal kid until he was thirteen years old. At thirteen, he was kidnapped by a group of Lesser Demons who experimented on him for five years. They were altering humans to be empowered by the blood of demons, and they succeeded. Jack had become addicted to the blood. What they didn't expect was that Jack would be so powerful, or that none of their conditioning worked and he turned on them. It didn't help that as part of the experiment they taught him what would be the beginnings of his combat training.
Jack never returned home. Instead, he travelled, using his abilities to get money and continue his training. After seven years, he finally found a steady job with Big Bad Wolf Limited. His explanation for his abilities is that the demons that kidnapped him were actually trying to summon a Blood Demon and the summoning went wrong, leaving Jack with full control of himself and all of the demon's strengths and weaknesses.
Equipment/Belonging: Jack wears a brown leather jacket over his jeans and shit. He carries a seemingly unlimited collection of throwing knives hidden around his person: up his sleeves, in his pockets and around his ankles.
"How many of those you got?"
"How many do you need?"
Dual swords and two Beretta 92s in his belt, a Remington 870 shotgun and a AK-101 rifle on his back, as well as extra ammo for everything.
He also carries a couple of flasks of Lesser Demon blood with him in case of emergencies, as well as several empty flasks to replenish on the field.
Notes: I didn't count Least Demons because those sound to me more like mind controlled humans than people actually being physically possessed by demons.

Character Name: Simon Lombardi
Gender: Male
Age: 27
Organization: Big Bad Wolf Limited
Class: Demo-Man
Special Abilities:
Blowing shit up: Being a demo-man may or may not be harder than you think. Really, Simon doesn't care how easy it is, its just fun to him He has dedicated himself to mastering the art of blowing shit up. In fact, he is capable of blowing things up by just thinking about it. He doesn't know what kind of 'kinesis' this is, but he loves it. There are limitations though. He can't just think about someone's brain blowing up and have it blow up. They might get a head-ache, but that is probably because of Simon just being himself. It takes a lot of focus for Simon to access this power, and focus is something Simon lacks. Thus, he is limited to inanimate objects. He is limited to objects about the size of a chair, and that size still takes a little while. The shape is also a factor. A brick is easy because its just a simple rectangle, as would be a plastic ball, but something shaped like this (http://publicheart.files.wordpress.com/2008/11/373493721_201987db8c.jpg) would be a bit harder. Range is also a factor, as long as Simon can get the item in focus, then his range is extended much farther far, about 10 yards, but if he didn't have physical contact beforehand. then it is very limited, and he has to be rather close to it to make it start, about 5 yards. Once the item is in Simon's focus, he chooses when it blows up. He can hold onto it as long as he stays within range. If he leaves range, then it is just explodes with no warning.
Agility: Simon is good at maneuvering. He can climb, jump, and run well, to either find a better angle to blow something up, or just hide from something he set to explode.
Fearlessness: Also known as dumbassery. Simon is afraid of nothing. He has no mental restraints. He will follow or disobey an order without a first thought, let alone a second. He does what he wants.
Bio: Simon was born in Louisville Kentucky, and lived a pretty easy and quiet life. This was all fine and dandy for a time. Simon went to school, played sports, and was fairly unremarkable, if a little bit hyperactive. Well... aside from his abilities. Throughout his life, Simon was always a fan of fireworks. Living in Louisville, home to one of the biggest fire-work shows in the world, only pushed this a forward a bit.
It was in about 6th grade that he first took notice of his ability. He was skipping stones down a creek, when one of the stones burst into fire. He thought of it as nothing but a freak-occurrence at first, but when he threw another one, it to combusted in a similiar fashion. After some practice, he found he could blow-up small objects with semi-regular results. These were just small rocks though. It was similar to a fire-cracker.
Due to his lack of focus or intelligence, it took Simon a while to reall hone this ability or improve it, so his progress was slow. He mostly just used it to mess with people. Gradually though, he managed to improve it, to a point that the explosions and items could become much more impressive and powerful.
This came to use on a simple day when he was making his way home after work, at age 20. Out of an alleyway, a man with a knife walked towards Simon and demanded that Simon give him his wallet. Simon proceeded to blow the knife up in the mugger's hand and tackle him to the ground. The incident gained hims a small amount of renown in his town, but Big Bad Wolf Limited also took notice. They gave him an offer to use his abilities to help them. After seeing how good the pay was, Simon joined without a second thought. Despite, or in spite of, his lack of rational thinking, Simon has managed to survive and thrive for a whole 7 years. Protecting the Mother of Hell may change that though.
Equipment/Belonging:
Assorted items: Simon carries multiple light weight items around with him for the purpose of blowing up. These consist mostle of plastic, lightweight bricks and spheres. They vary in size, and some have different functions. A few of them are rubbery and bouncy, some are just simple and still, and few are adhesive, and can stick to surfaces.
Dart gun: A small dart gun that Simon like so carry around. He has had quite a bit of practice with it. Once he shoots it off, the dart will stick to the target, and Simon blows it up. He can make it go boom mid-air, but that is a bit difficult.
Protective gear: a standard pair of goggles and a protective vest, This is meant to stop shrapnel and other crap from getting to him. He takes good car of himself Its a shame he doesn't think to much about the safety of others.
Actual explosives: Simon considers using man-made explosives cheating. Despite this, he does carry around a flare gun hidden deep in his bag. Its mostly used for signaling, because he doesn't like using anything but his own natural born abilities. There are also 2 grenades hidden down in there. Those are last resort things though, just meant in a pinch.
Notes: Simon is a brash fellow. He has little care for subtlety and often does things just because they may look or seem cool. He can be a bit quick to act or assume, but he is overall a well meaning guy. He just isn't that smart.

Loki: Approved.
Dracoion: There are a number of things I have to veto in there:
First off, it is coming off as a overpowered.. Six time strength seems a bit excessive (go from benching 200 lbs to 1,200 lbs? No), and sensing demons twenty miles away? Way too far.
Also, it is not like there is a large supply of demon blood out there. Big Bad Wolf Limited isn't a specialized demon hunting group (hence why the Protectors a better demon killers), and most dedicated demon hunters don't really go for tissue samples after. If you manage to convince me to let you keep the concept, you're supply is going to be rather limited.
And you also need better justification. Demon's wouldn't be interested in figuring out how to make humans strong with demon blood when A) They can accomplish the same thing by just getting the human possessed by a demon or sacrificed for a demon, B) demons who are smart enough to do such experiments would be start enough not to do it with demon blood seeming as it requires...well...demon blood with usually requires dead demons C) demons who have managed to this bodies in this world are generally interested in spreading death, destruction, and trying to open the gates, not kidnapping random people to experiment on them for five years.
So...basically no, I guess. If you tweak it really hard and give me really good reason to be powered by demon blood, we can work with this...but it might be easier to start with a fresh character.
On a side note, why is there always a guy who has to drink demon blood or eat demon souls in any RP concerning demons?
Bard: I thought I had addressed this in the sign-up, but it appears to be something I missed...my mistake.
Basically, this is a modern setting RP. I'm with going to a little high on the high tech scale...but really, a mecha is over doing it. I appricate the fact you tried to balance it and everyhting...but no mecha. Like I said, i thought I had spelled that out in the opening post. Okay, I may have been slightly sleep deprived when I wrote that. I probably meant something like thirty feet.
If it helps, Jack wouldn't be getting 6x strength too often. Still, I get your point. How about 1.5x, 2x and 3x for Lesser Demon, Blood Summoned and Demonic Hybrids respectively?

Fair enough. He'd pretty much only have a decent store of Lesser Demon blood and precious few Blood Summoned and Demonic Hybrid samples that he saves for tough mission.
And you also need better justification. Demon's wouldn't be interested in figuring out how to make humans strong with demon blood when A) They can accomplish the same thing by just getting the human possessed by a demon or sacrificed for a demon,
Okay, let's see. I can't imagine demons being the most tight-knit bunch. They might work together for a mutual purpose, sure, but maybe someone got greedy and wanted an army of people as strong as demons and they didn't want to trust other demons.
B) demons who are smart enough to do such experiments would be start enough not to do it with demon blood seeming as it requires...well...demon blood with usually requires dead demons
Really? A demon can't just grab a knife, cut themselves a little bit and bleed into Jack's mouth?
C) demons who have managed to this bodies in this world are generally interested in spreading death, destruction, and trying to open the gates, not kidnapping random people to experiment on them for five years.
Maybe they're trying to open a really big gate and need the support. Like a Greater Demon or an Outcast.
This is all stuff I can edit into Jack's profile, you know.
So...basically no, I guess. If you tweak it really hard and give me really good reason to be powered by demon blood, we can work with this...but it might be easier to start with a fresh character.
Well, the biggest problem I can't address is that I don't know a demon can't mind control people on a large scale. If they can't they'd have to train people as loyal servants from a young age.
But yeah, if you still can't approve Jack I'll see if I can't come up with a new character.

Okay, let's see. I can't imagine demons being the most tight-knit bunch. They might work together for a mutual purpose, sure, but maybe someone got greedy and wanted an army of people as strong as demons and they didn't want to trust other demons.
If they aren't going to trust other demons, why in the world would they trust humans? Humans are basically minions to them at best, meat-suits to them at worst...so why would they want to give them demon-like powers, let alone trust them with it?
And, really, the main goal of the demons here, even if they are just operating in a temporary alliance, is to open the Gates. Once the open, the power scale doesn't start at "least", it starts at the equivalent of the high end of "blood-summoned" and goes up from there, with a healthy dose of Greater and Outcast/Fallen level, since they don't have to use any energy to anchor themselves. Basically, if the demons get what they want and the Gates open, the "demon blood army" doesn't amount to spit on the sidewalk on a hot day.
Really? A demon can't just grab a knife, cut themselves a little bit and bleed into Jack's mouth?
True, but why demon blood to begin with? That is just basically asking for trouble...trouble which, surprisingly enough, is the entire concept behind your character!
I mean, really. If there was a super-soldier program, and someone asked "What do you use to power them up?", and the answer was "Human blood", you wouldn't think to yourself "Oh, okay." You'd think to yourself, "What, are you crazy? Isn't that just asking for these guys to go rogue and start killing people to get their super-human fix?"
And you know that is going to be a SyFy original movie someday.
Really, why would demons want to make a superhuman army that is powered off of demon blood? How is that not a recipe for disaster on the demon's part?
Maybe they're trying to open a really big gate and need the support. Like a Greater Demon or an Outcast.
That is what cultists are for. Culties are nice: they are a dime a dozen, are already loyal, and are ready to volunteer to kill people to summon demons and to have their own bodies act as vessels.
Heck, getting back to a previous point, demons would just use cultists in an experiment like this instead of kidnapping random people off of the street. Why give super powers to random, unknown people when you can give them to loyal, obedient minions?
Well, the biggest problem I can't address is that I don't know a demon can't mind control people on a large scale. If they can't they'd have to train people as loyal servants from a young age.
See: cultists. There are always people willing to trade their humanity for power, or believe that it is better to be at the Devil's right hand than in his path...especially, when in this case, it's "devils". And just like groups like the Society have long family lines in the demon hunting business, there are long family lines in the demon-serving business. Demons are not at want for humany minions.
And demon's can mind control per se, but the untrained by be possessed by least demons. About the same, but you have to summon each least demon individually. Not that I really see what mind control has to do with your character, seeming as I assume he wasn't mind controlled, seeming as he killed the demons holding him.
But yeah, if you still can't approve Jack I'll see if I can't come up with a new character.
Yeah...we'll say that I still can't approve Jack.

Hey Toast, do the Wolves have a uniform of some kind?
SinrXIII
05-02-2010, 07:48 PM
Up from the dregs! It's... the New-guy! Dun dun duuun.
So yeah. Teal told me about the RP and conned/blackmailed me into posting a bio. So, here it is. ^^;
Character Name: Wolfgang "Wolfy" Blues
Gender: Male
Age: Old enough
Organization: Big Bad Wolf Limited
Class: Ronin
Special Abilities: Wolfgang is not a normal human. A member of the Inugami tribe in Japan's sect of the supernatural, Wolfy is a sub-human who takes after the Black Wolf.
Shape-shifting: Wolfy has the ability to shift into the form of an animal; in this case, a wolf (normal sized), but lacks the ability to change his form much beyond that; he never bothered learning things like making his fingers into claws or the like. His beast form allows for faster regeneration; however, he has to concentrate for a bit before he can shift, and even then the process takes several seconds. His pants are generally destroyed in this process; his jacket would be too, but he's made a habit of stripping the coat off and carrying it in his mouth.
Kenjutsu user: A fancy way of saying Wolfy studies swordsmanship; rumors state that Wolfy even fought in the army of Nobunaga Oda once upon a time. Whether this is true or not, Wolfy's never told. Despite the wild possibility though, Wolfy is quite skilled with his swords, to the point of being at or beyond a master's level.
Religious Organization, The Shinmei-ryū: Based in Japan, this elite order of swordsmen and women are devoted to the calling of Demon Slaying. The Shinemeiryuu use special swords, designed to conduct the supernatural power of sub-humans and latent psionics into holy attacks; the apparent purpose being to kill demons (but work equally well on humans). These techniques change in appearance, depending on the user's psionic alignment or race, but fundamentally are all based from a single style. Of this style, several attacks of note are what Wolfy considers 'specialties;'
Zanganken ("Stone Cutting Sword"): A strike of the blade infused with enough energy to cut through stone.
Zanmaken ("Evil-Cutting Sword"): A strike of the blade infused with energy meant to make evil spirits or demons disperse.
Raimeiken ("Thunderclap Sword"): a slashing attack with lightning energy infused onto the sword.
Other: Wolfy carries a small handgun, usually holstered on his leg. He's a decent shot, but unable to hit much more than a target the size of a full-grown man from too far away, sharp senses be damned. His ears and nose are very acute; loud noises bug him to no end, and he can pinpoint a source of good smelling food a mile away. His eyes catch small movements faster than most people?s, from his years training as a swordsman. Similarly, he's faster and more athletic over-all than normal humans.
Bio: He harbors some unknown hatred of demons, but generally refuses to talk about his reasoning; aside from that, not much is known about Wolfy?s past, including his real name (A Japanese youth named Wolfgang? Really?). He claims to be a vagrant who's only been around for twenty years or so, but that?s impossible, isn't it? He says that ?maybe- he served with in a military when he was younger, and that at some point he picked up a sword and never looked back. Beyond that, there's no telling how he got where he is.
Equipment/Belonging: The most important belongings of his are his swords, and he will throw a fit if anyone touches them but him without a very compelling reason. He carries two; a full-sized katana which he uses 90% of the time, and a mid-sized kodachi, meant to be used along-side the katana or when he needs speed over power. Without these, his demon-slaying abilities are inaccessible. He also carries a small, clip-fed handgun for those "Ohshit" moments. Knives to a gun fight and all that.
Notes: Wolfy generally wears the same get-up; black pants of whatever material is cheap and durable, and a black leather jacket that falls to his ankles, effectively covering his black wolf-tail. He rarely wears a shirt under his jacket, and ties a red bandana around his forehead to keep his hair out of his eyes. His hair is also black (Are you noticing the pattern here?), and hides a pair of triangular black wolf's ears. Assuming he's wearing shoes today, he sports black Converse low-top Chuck Taylors, which he finds incredibly comfortable, unlike the rest of the world.
Dracorion

Character Name: Jack Chorster
Gender: Male
Age: 25
Organization: Big Bad Wolf Limited
Class: Copycat
Special Abilities:
Copycat: Jack can mimic the abilities of any living being he touches. This ranges from powers to traits to a variety of other things. For example: if he touches a vampire he will gain all the vampire's strengths and weaknesses. If he touches a kung fu master, he will become a kung fu master himself. Similarly, if he touches a pyrokinetic, Jack will be able to control fire with his mind.
His power is limited in that he can only copy the abilities of one being at a time (he can't be a vampire and a werewolf). Also, the more demanding the skill is to use, the less amount of time Jack can keep it. Things like copying basic driving skills or general marksmanshiphe can keep for a few hours, but stuff like martial arts, or more skilled marksmenship, or sword play he keeps from a half-hour to an hour at most, and stuff like psionics, super strength, and other such things he only keeps for a few minutes. While he can copy people's powers/abilities, he can't use them with the same finesse as them...so, while he can copy a kung-fu master, the kung-fu master would have an edge in that he has the experience and that amount of muscle memory that Jack can't completely copy.
Finally, trying to copy inhuman stuff (demon/monster attributes) is a large drain on Jack, since he's basically human. So, after you copying super-strength/speed/whatever, he's are physically tired.
Bio: Jack is descended from a race of sub-humans called Copycats, who are exactly like humans except for their mimicking ability. Copycats are a divided race, mostly just mingling with humans and going about their regular lives. Jack, however, found the lifestyle boring and decided to put his abilities to good use.
He did some vigilante work until he was approached by Big Bad Wolf Limited with a job offer. He accepted, of course. Nigh-unlimited resources that can get him anything he needs to use his ability to it's fullest extent? Fuck yeah.
Equipment/Belonging: Courtesy of Big Bad Wolf, and to take full advantage of his ability, Jack has an assorted collection of various close-range and short range weapons. After all, what good is it mimicking a crack shot if you don't have a gun to shoot? He chooses what to take before each mission.
Notes: Jack is as plain and unimpressive as a guy can get. He wears a simple white shirt and blue jeans, is all altogether the kind of guy that blends into a crowd than stand out.
I'm having trouble coming up with a good reason why Jack can't just walk up to an Outcast, touch it and become a godling. Maybe his power doesn't work on demons for whatever reason? Maybe he can't absorb an energy field bigger than his head?
Beats the hell out of me.

You think a lot this varied could agree on a uniform? Heck, Patches would want something in twelve different colors, Nick would want something with black leather that was sparkly...no agreement at all.
Nope, no uniform. Just wear your name tag on the rare occasion that you are in the home office.

Hmm, a bit short on time so here is the feature most likely to make the character get rejected:
Superior Firepower: Demonkind is a blight on the world and so Shanoa was given all of the guns to shoot them with.
Concept is basically having a hyperspace arsenal (about a person's volume) used mainly to store guns, lots of guns. Probably also storing kind of powered limb assist to allow such lovely weapons as anti-materiel rifles to be fired without dislocating one's shoulder.

SinrXIII: First off, I'm sorry.
I am so, so sorry that you got roped into this.
Right, now that my 10th Doctor moment is over, let's talk character.
There isn't anything necessarily wrong with your character, but you have an awful lot of abilities there. Trim one or two out, and we'll be in business.
Dracorion: Not necessarily against a copycat character, but you said you where having some trouble balancing?
Allow me to help!
First off, how 'bout a time limit on the time you can keep abilities? The idea that comes to mind is the more demanding the skill is to use, the less amount of time you can keep it. So, say that copying basic driving skills or general marksmanship skills you could keep for a few hours, but stuff like martial arts, or more skilled marksmenship, or sword play you could keep for a half-hour to an hour at most, and stuff like psionics, super strength, and other such things you could only keep for a few minutes.
Which keeps you from copying an outcast/fallen, because you could handle it for about 10 seconds before your body gives you on you.
Also, I'd like to evoke the idea of "no such thing as a perfect copy": While you can copy people's powers/abilities, you can't use them with the same finesse as them...so, say, while you can copy a kung-fu master, the kung-fu master would have an edge in that he skill has the experience and that amount of muscle memory that you can't completely copy.
Finally, I'd like to throw in the qualifier that trying to copy inhuman stuff (demon/monster attributes) is really hard on you...you know, seeming as you're still basically human. After you copy super-strength/speed/whatever, you are physically tired. As you might imagine, this is to keep you from running around with super-strength for the entire time.
If these are okay with you, cool. If not...try again?
Arhra: Well...most gunslingers use a bit of a hyperspace armory anyways, so I guess I'm okay with you calling it a special ability. Just...don't go too overboard with it.
In hindsight...and since it is now evening as compared to afternoon...I'll keep sign-ups going until this starts.

Fair enough. Let's see...
I cut out the over-charged version of the thunderclap sword, mainly due to the number of people. I doubt there'll be a time when Wolfy needs to zap a large field of things.
Likewise, I took out Unarmed talent, since it really doesn't fit the character all that well.
The Shinmei-ryu bit really isn't an ability so much as an organization I suppose, though it could also be considered a sub-set of his swordsmanship skill. I dunno, it just looked like it went there. ^^;
If anything else, I'd be fine parting with his shape-shifting and calling him a third-rate Inugami, since I'm not sure he'd need that ability.

Oh, thought up a good limit on the shadow teleport thing! For starters, using the question of whether of "What would happen if Task was going into a shadow...when someone shines a light on it?"
Either A: Task finds himself uncomfortably stuck in a wall, floor, ceiling.
B: Task finds himself missing whatever was in the shadow,
or C: Task takes serious damage (hurt) and uses up alot of energy pulling himself out of whatever he's phased into, directly in proportion to how much of himself was in the shadow.
I like C, but as you can see, Task is foiled by flashlights, lightning, and people flicking light switches!
Secondly, there is certain level of darkness of the shadow required for Task to enter into the shadows, and it has to be big enough for his whole body to enter. If like the light shadows between two light sources, he can't enter.
Thirdly, as mentioned in the character sheet, when traveling through the shadows, there has to be a solid connection of shadow between A and B. If Duncan were in a courtyard casting a big enough shadow for Task to enter it in the day time, unless Duncan's shadow intersects another shadow (no matter how small or thin it is) Task can't go anywhere, aside from hiding in Duncan's shadow.
Task also travels through shadow only just as fast as he can normally move, he's just not limited by obstacles, and can take shortcuts not obvious to those walking in the light.
So...Task can seemingly go anywhere once it's night time, and in the daytime he's pretty useless. Most of his demon powers also require a certain level of darkness to get his demonic juices flowing. That's why he has extreme-parkour and two handy blades in the daytime to solve his problems.
Think of it as being how the Dark Prince in Prince of Persia Two Thrones should have been, instead of being some emo-troll with a chain.

Speaking of gratuitous violence, Toasty, a few questions:
Question 1: What kind of RPG exactly are they using? The russians have like a million types. I'm guessing they'd be using anti-personnel versions instead of anti-armor? And probably reusables instead of one use? Which would limit it to either the RPG-7V2, which comes with both thermobaric or frag rockets, or the RPG-29 (lovingly nicknamed the vampir) which uses only thermobaric rockets. Obviously if they're using the Vampir, Nick has more to worry about in that all their rockets would be firey and full of doom.
Also, RPGs are russian weapons--shouldn't SECA, being an American agency, be using the SMAW system? Basically the American equivalent to the Russian RPGs. The SMAW comes standard with HEDP rounds (High Explosive Dual Purpose) which are great for blowing apart structures--able to penetrate 8 inch concrete in a single shot (and even deeper on brick or reinforced wood), HEAA (High Explosive Anti-Armor) which penetrate steel even deeper than HEDP penetrates concrete, and SMAW-NE (Novel Explosive), which creates a thermobaric heat wave capable of collapsing buildings--also useful in caves due to the way the wave would be concentrated through the tunnels.
The M72 LAW is another similar American made weapon, but it's mostly just for anti-armor purposes, so I would guess SECA wouldn't bring that.
Also, what kind of machine guns do they have? Are we talking like an M2 Browning tripod mounted .50 cal sonuvabitch or what?
Toastburner B
05-06-2010, 09:35 PM
As far as machine guns go, I was thinking more along the lines of a SAW (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squad_Automatic_Weapon).
I wasn't really thinking of an RPG in particular, but I suppose they would be using the SMAW. No thermobaric stuff for now, we'll say, no need to get evil on you guys just yet.

Well, I kind of assumed. The trees are to the rear and west of the house and I'm assuming the whole place is surrounded by strike teams because it'd be rather silly if the MoH escaped through the back door or a window because everyone was on the front lawn.
Admittedly, I'm not sure about spotlights.

There are three to five strike teams. A caravan of vehicles. Two strike teams in the front yard watching and looking intimidating, the other one to three are stationed wherever they need to be for Toasty to turn the heat up on our asses if need be. It was really why Richard oped for the pincer. Hit blitzkrieg on the current weak point and dipset. Course if there is a safe way out that is preferred.

I mostly am just curious because if he went in by floodlights at the front it would have been where Nick/everyone else would have seen, and thus I would probably want to work that into a post.
If not, then... well... not.
Edit: Also kinda wondering if there are fences/walls around the 'courtyard' of the manor or not. I assume not 'cause of the way the strike teams are moving, but I know there were in the original and it seems like it'd be a good idea on a manor made to repel demons.

And, yeah, there's a fence, but it's one of big fancy-shancy mansions that are on a few acres and are totally fenced in, so the SECA vans would be set up inside the fence anyways. The house itself is built like a fortress, though...and the fence is a more traditional fence. Still have to put up with the land owners' association and all the stuff they have in fancy neighborhoods, right?
EDIT: It's about 40 SECA troopers based out of number of armored trucks/vans. The caravan in the opening post were the reinforcement for the first two SECA strike teams, so the 40 number include the caravan. None of the SECA vehicles are armed, as they are masquerading as a SWAT team.
For sake of ease, we'll call it 10 heavy troopers: 7 armed with SAW machine guns, the other 3 armed with RPGs with high explosive heads. The RPGs were meant to crack open the house (which, as mentioned, is rather built like a fortress). Three teams are out front, serving as the main attack, while another two teams are moving around the sides to try to find unsecured entrances. The three teams out front have the heavies, while the flanking teams are light infantry.
So, basically:

Yeah, I thought so, but I suck at paint so the circles are supposed to represent where they are hitting the ground, 'cause drawing floods on the house would have been too hard for my shitty paint skills.

Ah, okay. I just remembered when I was writing that that I was having trouble figuring out how to phrase that so that it got the point across.
EDIT:
I forgot: to round out the SECA numbers, there's two sniper teams in the wooded areas, mostly as cover and observation. Since they are in the wooded areas, one side of the house is uncovered by them. Of course, Rob took one out, so there is only one left.
EDIT 2:
Man...Whistler is a lot more fun to write than that old fuddy-duddy Duncan.

And yes, the theme song for this chapter is now "Bad Moon Rising". Deal with it.

EDIT: Should be noted these are all random assumptions based on how things tended to go from bad to what the hell in the Redux. As such they might be completely wrong.
Fair enough. I'll try to avoid doing that from now on.

So Jack shouldn't have been able to crash through the window? Because that seems rather too easy if the house is a fortress.
If so, I think I'll edit my post so Jack steals a RPG and blows a hole in the wall. Jack isn't going to be much use fighting outside, since he's not going to copy any cool powers until the time comes to escape. And personally, I wanted to have him copy Duncan and fry some bitches.

Character Name: Shanoa Daniels
Gender: Female
Age: 24
Organization: Big Bad Wolf Limited
Class: Soldier
Special Abilities:
Hyperspace Arsenal: Shanoa has a limited but very useful psionic talent, being able to vanish an ammount of material approximately equal to her size in close proximity and call it forth from wherever it went again. She's good enough with to get dressed and reload very quickly.
Gun Nut: It means highly proficient in the use of a wide variety of firearms.
Harder Better Faster Stronger: Shanoa has reflexes like a greased overextended simile and you'd think she really did carry her weight in guns around all the time.
Bio: Raised as an army brat, Shanoa realised she was destined for a life as a master thief when she discovered she had the ability to make things around her vanish into a strange timeless space that it seemed only she could retrieve them from.
Not having the right temperment and too proud to do such a thing anyway, she decided to screw destiny and enter the exciting world of private military contractors. She'd discovered she also didn't have the right temperment to get very far in the regular Army either.
She eventually got head hunted for Big Bad Wolf and the rest was history.
Equipment/Belongings:
Superior Firepower: Demonkind is a blight on the world and so Shanoa was given all of the guns to shoot them with. A somewhat more detailed list is under construction, going up to and including an anti-materiel rifle.
Powered Exoskeleton Prototype: Essentialy a robotic spine with limbs attached that a user straps on. One of the main hurdles to such technology is getting a compact and lightweight power supply that can operate it for more than an hour or two. Shanoa conveniently does not have to worry about this problem at all, and is essentially acting as a tester for the motive component. Since it is just a wearable framework, it offers little to no protection, but allows Shanoa to lift and carry about ten times what she normally could, but slightly hampers her speed. It's modular, allowing only one part to be used at a time. Shanoa sometimes uses a single arm as a recoil brace.
Notes: Since we seem to like the details, I'm thinking of send Shanoa out after the vans with a Barrett M82 anti-materiel rifle with Raufoss Mk2.11 rounds. Those rounds are armour piercing, explosive and incendiary (so it can kill people inside the vehicle that has been shot). Isn't that lovely?
It's a bit redundant to use on soft targets, since it would travel about 30-40 cm after penetrating before it explodes. Only goes off about 50% of the time if it hits an unarmoured person anyway.
Decided I'd better wait for feedback before posting. I'm a little confused on where everything is right now anyway.

Alsssso, generic vampire powers/facts as per setting, for a few reasons.
Primarily because of Jack, and if he's copying Nick ever it'd be good that we both have the same ideas on how vampires/vampiric powers work.
Secondly in order to ensure that I don't overstep any bounds power wise.
Thirdly just to get them all laid out even wherein they don't pertain to Nick (and by extension Jack)--read: I was bored.
Anyway:
Vampiric Regeneration: Vampires normally heal only slightly faster than humans (young vampires hardly show any difference at all), though they are capable of healing more serious wounds over time (an arm may grow back if left unattended over a few years, for example). However, when a vampire feeds, the blood serves as both his energy source, and as a healing agent. A feeding, or freshly fed, vampire heals exponentially faster than a human. Bullet wounds close in seconds, limbs regenerate in hours, etc. The rate of both the natural and fed healing, as well as 'how far' blood will go, increases as vampires get older and there are tales of truely ancient vampires being able to heal as if recently fed without a single drop of blood entering their system, or being able to overcome even the most grievous injuries with a mere trickle of the life giving substance--Nick is not nearly so old.
Sunlight: When exposed to sunlight vampiric flesh immediately combusts into powerful flames. The speed at which it burns is based upon the age of the vampire--older vampires burning slower than younger, though even with 3 centuries under his belt Nick can expect to lose a limb after only seconds of exposure. Further, once ignited, the fire does not extinguish merely because it is removed from the sun--it is normal fire and must be put out by normal means. This means that sunlight striking even a small area of a vampire's central body mass could lead to their entire body burning away if it isn't removed from sunlight and extinguished quickly enough. There are legends of extremely old and powerful vampires being able to walk in the sunlight with only minor discomfort--whether this is the natural progression of their resistance or some ability learned by an ancient being, or even merely a fictitious tale, is uncertain.
Vampiric Senses: Vampires are predators whom hunt only at night. As a result their ability to see in the dark is considerably better than any human's. In addition, they also have powerful noses and ears, not quite as good as say... a werewolf's, but more akin to that of a wild animal than a human's in ability.
Dead: Vampires are not living beings, and as such do not need to worry about temperature (so long as it is below combustion and high enough that they won't freeze completely in place), eating any kind of solid food, or even breathing. For a vampire the act of smelling something or even talking or sighing requires a conscious effort to draw in breath. As a result, things such as knock out gases or drowning are entirely useless against a vampiric foe, whom will merely hold his or her breath indefinitely until the 'threat' passes.
Holy Symbols: Have no actual power. Some vampires are even religious themselves, entering churches and praying for salvation from whatever God they believe in (Nick is not such a vampire). However, some vampire hunters (and priests, for that matter) have latent psychic powers that they have learned to channel through holy artifacts--and, of course, some holy artifacts are actually psychic focuses that can draw on even a completely normal human's powers. Amongst the scholarly it is assumed that myths of crosses warding vampires comes from such items and powers.
Mirrors: Vampires reflect in mirrors, and Nick uses one to make sure he gets all the blood washed off after every battle.
Garlic: Is tasty, but ultimately useless to vampires. They get their nutrition from blood, after all. It is, however, also completely ineffectual in stopping them. They don't even balk at the scent unless they are silly enough to take a big whiff.
Death: Killing a vampire is both easier and more difficult than contemporary fiction would have one believe. Some accounts, for instance, suggest that the vampire be staked through the heart with white oak, his head removed, his mouth stuffed with garlic, his body drawn and quartered, and then burned before the ashes are scattered to the four winds. This method, though very thorough, is more than a bit of overkill. A vampire may be killed if his body is completely burned away, his head removed from his body, or a wooden stake is pushed through his heart. Only one of these methods is necessary, not all three.
Fire: Most vampires have a bit of a disdain for fire, as that it is one of the only ways to kill them, and about the only way in which they can be killed as easily as a mortal. However, they have no special weakness to it, and it may be argued they are even somewhat more resistant as that so long as the vampire survives the initial burning he will eventually heal. However, a vampire burns as quickly as a human
Reproduction:
A vampire can not mate and reproduce as a human can, and certainly can not reproduce in such a manner WITH a human. Further, vampires have a slightly harder time of spreading their curse than they do in contemporary fiction.
Being a vampire is as much the 'curse' as it is the carrier's wish to continue living--even as a monster--at least at the time of their change (once the choice is made a vampire lives until it has been killed, simply regretting the choice does not result in death, though a stroll in the park at noon would). As a result, no vampire may be created without the permission of the human he or she wishes to grant immortality.
In order to grant the curse a vampire must first feed upon the human, allowing their blood to mingle with the vampire's own in their body, and must continue to feed until the victim is on the verge of death from exsanguination. At such a time, the vampire will then wound themselves along a major vein or artery--usually upon the wrist--and allow their 'victim' to feed upon the vampire's blood. The victim will then appear to die, only to awake again as a vampire at the next sunset. The stronger the 'sire' the more powerful the new vampire will become.
However, if the human receiving the curse does not wish to change, the curse is rejected violently, causing the human's body to burst into a magical flame that travels through the given blood and into the 'sire' vampire's veins. This rarely results in the death of the sire, but is excruciatingly painful and leaves the older vampire weakened for many days as the wounds within his body struggle to heal. As a result most vampires will ask a mortal if they are sure they wish to become a vampire before changing them.
Once a vampire has been created, it maintains an empathic link with its creator thanks to the closeness of their blood. This link makes it somewhat difficult (though not impossible) for the newly created vampire to go against the wishes of their 'sire', as well as making it nearly impossible for them to strike or otherwise purposefully harm him or her. In addition the newly created vampire wishes to be near his or her creator. These compulsions may be removed at any time, but may only be removed in one of two ways: their sire must die in some way, or they must drink their sire's blood.
Vampiric Powers: Vampires have access to a number of abilities, and gain more as they age. Each vampire's exact abilities differ, however, as they may choose to focus on only a few abilities or to gain all of them in much weaker forms. Nick has only focused on those listed on his sheet, obviously.
Strength: All vampires, no matter how young, are stronger than they were as a human, often meeting what would be considered the pinnacle of human physicality. This advantage only increases with age.
Speed: Again, as soon as a vampire is turned they become faster and more dextrous than they were as a human being, again, often reaching the pinnacle of human ability immediately upon becoming such a creature. This advantage also increases with age.
Endurance: Vampires do not get tired.
Mind Tricks: When a vampire gets old enough they may begin to develop various psychic powers such as the vaunted ability in most vampiric fiction to overpower the senses of a victim, effectively charming them into compliance.
Pyrokinesis: Some very old vampires can create and even control fire. A useful ability, particularly if they don't get along well with their brethren.
Shapeshifting: Again, once a vampire has gotten old enough their flesh becomes malleable. At first they become capable of things like Nick's claws, but those vampires who focus on this power (or merely live long enough) can learn to take on the forms of animals such as bats or wolves, as in many vampire legends and truly powerful practitioners may even be able to warp their bodies in completely different and terrifying ways.
Others: Truly ancient vampires may have learned even more esoteric abilities, such as flight or the ability to walk on water. Others may have managed to advance a more common power to levels that makes it seem like a totally new ability (such as advancing the control of heat inherent in pyrokinesis enough to drain heat from an area as well as inject it). These powers are varied, but extremely rare--only being accessible by very old vampires, whom have lived for a millenia or more.
Nick: At 300 years old, Nick could have learned many of these powers, but he has focused only on his speed and strength, merely dabbling with the malleability of his body. As a result he is considerably stronger and faster than most vampires of his age, but he lacks their larger bag of tricks.
Further, Nick's sire is dead, killed shortly before he signed onto BBW. It is this event that made him worry for his 'life' if he continued as he had been.

Arhra: Mostly okay. I a tad bit worried about the exoskeleton, seeming as I already smacked down one character for having mecha-esque stuff. I'm okay with you using it to counteract recoil, but I'm not really seeing the need for having 10x strength.

Re: Bard's post.
For the record the explosion probably wouldn't/wouldn't cause the rocket in the SMAW to explode.
Firstly, in the SMAW system, unlike the RPG system, the rocket sits fully in the 'barrel' of the launcher.
Secondly, they're made to be relatively stable until fired.
It'd probably just make the SMAW go flying, and probably knock about the rocket so you'd have to reload it to use it. Depending on the power of the explosion it might damage the launcher enough to make it unusable.

The implication was that Simon only thought it would blow up the rocket, not that it would. If anything, it will probably just break the SMAW, and leave Simon disappointed at the lack of explosions.

I did a little research and it's about in line with stuff that exists right now. Well, the HAL suit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HAL_5) only gives 5x, but some of the other more experimental ones I read about were ridiculously higher than that.

No, I got the basic idea that you couldn't punch people with it...but 10x still seems like a lot just for carrying guns around, especially since you already have a hyperspace armory to do that with. I'm being paranoid and foreseeing stuff like "Look! A car! I'm gonna lift that!" or "Look! A giant boulder! I'm going to lift that!", and being able to lift large heavy objects leads to being able to throw large, heavy objects etc etc etc.
It just seems like it's overdoing it a bit. But if you can lay down a good arguement as to why it won't lead to you throwing cars and stuff, I can be convinced to let you keep it.

Just counted through the thread, we currently have 33 confirmed disabled or killed SECA (out of ~40) strike team members, probably more as I only counted those specifically stated to have gone down for the count in posts (I know, Bard took out more than I counted, for instance, but I don't know how many more).
Of those, 2 were using RPGs and 2 were using machine guns.
This means there are <7 remaining SECA agents, of which 1 is holding an RPG and 5 are using machine guns.
Of those there are about 4 in McCrag manor, assuming a strike team is roughly 5 people (one is down via shotgun from Jack).
One of those is probably our last RPG user (as one was used to breach the doors). We can then extrapolate that the other two surviving members in there have machine guns and there are 3 machine guns left outside somewhere.
I think this still leaves our second sniper team unaccounted for, however. The one who wasn't taken out by Loki's character.

Oh, uh, I never did give an argument, did I?
Well, one big thing for not throwing cars around is even a light one is about half a ton, very bulky and something weighing 'fifty' kilos isn't all that easy to throw. Especially when it realistically deforms when you try to pick it up by the bumper bar. Things like the HAL suit don't seem to give a power assist to the grip either, just a wrist brace.
Plus, you know, could just pull an RPG out of hammerspace and use that instead (assuming said mission lets her take one). High explosives > car.
If it's really a pain, I could always just make laughing off recoil a secondary ability instead?

...you know, since there's really nothing going on, you should probably timeskip us to the Safe House. Be nice to get some character dynamic into this and it isn't as though any one's leaping to get into the freakin' car. There just isn't much left to do.
'cause, despite being part of an apparently close-knit team, I don't really know anything about how most of them act out of battle. Its a bit difficult to work out character relations without that! So more reason to get some downtime in.
So, yeah, anyway. Less OoC posting, more In-Game posting if you want the game to stay afloat.
