So yet another fan made movie is coming our way.

Seeing the history of SF (http://www.hadoken.net/?p=1645), I don't know what to think about any other live action movies...

Yeah... but the trailer doesn't do much for me at all. They might get the "gist" of Street Fighter battles, but it takes more than that to put the word "movie" in there and be proud of it.

I've said many times that all you need to do to make a good Street Fighter movie is to ignore all pretenses of plot save for what little is absolutely necessary to string a series of fight scenes together. That's what the games do and that's what entire subgenres of movies do and it confuses me how no director or producer has made the obvious connection yet.

e: okay you also need a good fight choreographer and a bunch of good martial artists but I took that as a given.

I guess you won't like my pitch for Zangief and Dhalsim go on tour. It's Lethal Weapon meets Rocky meets Borat!

Well, after watching two thirty second trailers which spent half their time showing production company logos and revealed nothing more than Ryu and Ken adjusting their pajamas, I can safely and without a doubt say that this is, in fact, the best Street Fighter movie ever made.

How about the cartoon?

Those are anime. Those are always awesome.

We're talking live action. Those are always sucky.

I would watch that!

I guess I should have added "live-action" as a qualifier.

Given that this fan film isn't likely to include Chun-Li shower scenes, it's already working at a disadvantage there.

If I recall, you don't see anything. Unless there is an unrated version around somewhere.

Google image search is your best friend on this one.

I've said many times that all you need to do to make a good Street Fighter movie is to ignore all pretenses of plot save for what little is absolutely necessary to string a series of fight scenes together OR I'm also totally fine with Zangief and Dhalsim going on tour like Lethal Weapon meets Rocky meets Borat.

e: this doesn't even need to be mutually exclusive, how about just Zangief and Dhalsim going on tour Bud Spencer/Terence Hill style.

There is a unrated version around somewhere.

EDIT: Dang ninjas!

So, let me just add this... there is 2 Cuts of the American version (one cutted and one Semi-Uncutted) and one Japanese version (fully uncutted)

1 part I am intrigues, one part I am scared what a Google image search could yield.

Anyway, back on topic. A good Street Fighter movie should not be live action as some of the parts would make it hard for a suspension of disbelief. I saw the Film Brain review on Legend of Chun-Li and when it got to the Ki-ko-ken fireball, it looked so out of place. I mean granted the movie itself sucked, but that's beside the point.

Does anyone actually know who they are outside of Germany? (not an attack I'm just interested)

Haven't heard of them.

Then again, I know more J-pop bands than most.

-_-;

Never go to Japan. You're not prepared for the 5 minute boy bands...

Considering the finished thing is all of three minutes long... (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2ZXSzaUIBQ)

I'm thinking that article in the OP was possibly a bit heavy on enthusiasm and a bit light on accurate representation of what this was going to be. The film does do a good job of capturing the essence of Street Fighter, though.

Sadly that 3 minute long movie may have been better then all of the live action SF movies ever made to this day.
