Wow, the way I read this must have been totally different. I thought Warbot intentionally crumpled the entire folder so as to start systematically getting revenge on the accounting floor, starting with Mr. James. I was all "whoo hoo" after the end, guess I'm a dark person.

No seriously. This is how i have to describe this situation. After quite some time without an update, you guys come around put this together and... it's all well again!! Even though the entire situation is that comic was so so so VERY wrong.

... also, icing on the cake. The guy was screwed already, but due to his own failing. Warbot actually just improved on the damage while trying to help.

This comic can be read two ways:

1. Warbot intentionally screwed the guy over because he heard the two of them bad mouthing him.

2. Warbot tried to help and ended up making things worse for everyone.

Personally, I think the first, but only because of the way Warbot tossed away the newspaper non-committaly… over his still dying daughter. It definitely seems to mark Warbot as the villain of this specific comic.

I dunno... I really saw it as being the former option.... It fits with the rest of the comic to date. Though, I imagine that's why it's so ambiguous... it's more fun that way.

Warbot actually finished the forms. He didn't crumple them and deliver them. He finished them for the guy. You can see the little pencil in his claws in one of the panels. If he wanted to screw the guy over, he would have just crumpled them and delivered them without the completing step.

EDIT: Warbot's position when finishing the report should have shoved the guy, if not crushed him. But it pales in comparison with how cold and dark Warbot is becoming.

So Warbot's Misery Field only inflicts small indignities upon himself (getting stuck in the sand, being insulted by co-workers and grumpy old men), but saves its real power when it can go after people around Warbot (the passengers on the bus, the people in the movie theater, Kristin, James, Daughter)?

Rather than the incoherent, sobbing prayers for God's mercy that seem to be the norm when people try to express their feelings about the comic, I'm going to try to give it an exact description:

I was actually quite surprised by this episode of the comic (enough to make an account and post!!!)

In the last episode Warbot spent hours and hours carefully picking up that one checkers piece. Despite the threat of losing his job he stuck with it and we had that triumphant last box showing him holding up the chip.

Maybe I was looking too much into it but I thought this was a sign of mastering delicate movement with his hefty claw which so often is the cause of destruction. And with this new found ability he could begin his readjustment into society in earnest!! A sign of hope for warbots happiness at last!!

Or not it would seem...

Later it's revealed that that's because Warbot was right there, but in the panel where it shows it, he's not gesturing towards Warbot. I guess he wasn't necessarily pointing during the whole sentence, just thought it was a bit odd.

EDIT: When can I buy a Warbot in Accounting calendar thing? I need 365 days a year of Warbot suffering.

In the flashback panel at the end, we're seeing James respond "You're not helping" and point as well as the other guy saying "Especially after Warbot botched the Yutani account". So really, that panel is a combination of the two early in the comic (where Yutani account and Not Helping comments were separate panels).

Now for my own inconsistency/continuity/what the hell is going on questions:
Panels 6 and 7: James' desk is covered in sticky notes.
Panel 8: No sticky notes. Also note the position of James' monitor to the window.
Panel 24: James' desk has no sticky notes. Warbot is carrying a crumpled folder.
Panel 25: Warbot has a pencil and is looking at un-crumpled papers. Note the window position: Warbot is at his own desk (and Warbot drinks coffee, but James doesn't while pulling an all-nighter).
Panel 26: Warbot has crumpled folder again, and no papers on his desk.

So, yeah, I'm really not sure exactly what happened. Warbot took all the notes off James' desk, went back to his own desk, added to reports he had already started, and turned in the whole thing to Ferguson as James' work?

To me it looks like Warbot is sitting (standing) in his cubicle, and guy with bandana is looking over the wall of the cubicle, which has post-it notes on it.
