Tried posting pi and it got turned into a question mark. I cut and pasted it from MS Word, it showed up fine in the preview, but when I posted it, it got turned into a question mark. Like, not just that it didn't display, but as if it got filtered.

I'm basically throwing up my hands on this because the page source still is at UTF-8, which should handle it, so there must be something in the server messing it up between the preview and the actual post. I'd almost write it off to maybe a problem pasting from Word, but with the preview coming out fine, there's no reason to accept that.

I swear when I saw this I could have sworn the title was 'Remaining Unicorn issues.'

Hm. I know our locale is set to en_GB and UTF-8 so I am not sure why it is doing this. I'll check into it further...

??

Hrm. That does not look pi like. But it's still showing up.

Edit: No it's not. It showed up in preview, and then got switched to a "?" when I hit post.

Also, Japanese characters are question-marked. I can't write katakana and hiragana and kanji. How am I supposed to render my japan-ophile rambling incoherent in such an environment?

To be fair, it'll still be incoherent.

But it won't look all foreign and exotic like I want! Plus, if I have to write it in roman letters, I have to decide how to put spaces and how to extend vowels and all that. Screw that. I may as well be writing in English.

It's probably due to a recent......shall I say extreme accident I made~! One that was thankfully fixed without too much pulling out of hair, but one that annoyed and scared the hell out of me nonetheless. I think I just need to set up our locale and such again, I should be able to find time to do this over the next few days.
