Got hit 10 times (with an e-mail notification) to each thread I'm currently subscribed to. Not sure if the problem is widespread, or if I was the only one affected. Deleted mostly of my subscriptions (there were over 800). However, left a few just to keep an eye on this.
Will post again, if I see the issue tomorrow. Suggest you post in this thread if it happened to you as well. (In case I'm not just a singular case.)

Well, I tried to reset my password a week ago but I didn't receive the confirmation email until today. Meister was already aware of my case 'cause I had to bug him since it caused me to accidentally lose my posting privileges. I guess the server is having some issues...

The reboot affected that...everything that was in the queue got suddenly released!

I just got 106 notifications from, pretty much, every single thread i ever posted in 2010 in just one go.
Also... i wouldn't want to spam block the forum, but i don't really want Thread update e-mails too. I mean, i come here everyday..... i thought i had already cleaned that up, but i still get them!

Yeah just turn off subscriptions. Sorry for all the emailspam, folks. Bright side: this means our mail server works again.

The specific reason I've always not subscribed to stuff is because you get an email every time someone posts, and getting all excited to see that DFM posted a new LP section only to see Krylo going COCKBALLS is just depressing. Twenty times a day.
But anyway, would there be a way to make it so that you get notified every ten posts or new page or something like that, so you can see if there's been an upswing in activity rather than every individual post?

I turned off e-mail notifications for subscribed threads since... well... That's the only setting which I'd consider a good idea unless I'm very drunk. I don't drink.
I use this feature more as a reply tracker in my CP since I check that almost every day anyway.
