I just became a Green Lantern fan after hearing that there was going to be a movie. At first, I was skeptical about the concept but my skepticism was soon replaced by awe. I absolutely love the character of Hal Jordan and that is why I can not take what they've done to his costume for the movie.

They had the chance to do a perfect translation of a classic costume but they decided for some reason or another that it would look cooler as a giant ribbed condom.

What do you guys think about the translation of the costume into live-action?

I don't hate it, it's certainly interesting. I hear it's not quite finished yet though.

Actual costume would look even more ridiculous, I feel that making it CGI/3D based actually conveys the 'Lantern's Construct' feeling. Phearps the only work where it's use is justified.

Wouldn't mind some white gloves though.

Maybe that's not the real costume just a coloring of his Muscle tissue, as more of a artistic rendering?

I've seen worse costumes. That and the comic costume would look ridiculous on camera. You know like the Captain America costume.

At least it's nowhere NEAR as bad as some certain other costumes *CoughCLOONEYBATMANcough* though it might be as Bells said, and not the final version.

Plus all we see is his upper body.

It's not a condom. Look:

Maybe he's just wearing some sort of Seussian variant and he'll have Sam I Am as a sidekick!

Wait, wait, wait. Green Lantern? I thought Reynolds was playing Deadpool. What happened to that? Is he both?

He's Ryan Reynolds. He can do anything.

The costume just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I wouldn't mind it if I wasn't familiar with Green Lantern but it's... too green. Yeah, I think the Green Lantern costume is too green.

As a proud American, I would have to see that movie every single day for a month.

Ryan Reynolds is a good actor, i hope the movie lives up to the comic's depiction.

I'd say it make sense since from what I can remember the suit is made of the Green Lantern power, like it only appears when he puts on the ring (or something like that).

The only question is are they going to ditch Sinestro or change him totally, because Sinestro is pretty ridiculous looking frankly.

Sinestro is being played by Mark Strong. Give the man a mustache and tinge him slightly pink and bam, there's your space villain.

Sinestro is also Sinestro and awesome and fuck you.

It was less about the 'stache and more about him being red, really.

But now that I've seen that pic of the guy doing it then I now have to say that it is ridiculous looking as hell.
