The forums seem to be down for Fifth, POS, and Nikose. Unless you guys IP banned them or something, this is more than a little weird. If it was just one person, I'd say it's probably on their end. Three people? Not so much. Any ideas what's up?

We figured it was worth losing valuable members of the community like POS and fifth if it meant getting rid of Nikose forever.

Calling me valuable is horseshit and we all know it.

But seriously I'm in no position to figure out what the hell is going on because I don't know my way around the ACP well enough to know which buttons are "break everything forever" buttons and I don't want to press those.

Wouldn't want to step on shiney's turf and all.

Press all of them in quick succession.

Bah, it's not like you can break it any worse then it's been broken before.

Could just be that the tube leading from here to them is all clogged with animal porn. (I.E. a disturbing amount of internet traffic goes through a couple of rather small bottle necks. Perhaps there is one having trouble somewhere and it just happens to be between them and the server hosting the forum. Although, theoretically there should still be more than one route from the server to any destination. Unless they are all like have the same ISP and live in the same geographic area but again it should effect other things as well.) That is a pretty big long shot though and it should effect at least some other sites as well.

Unless they are all like have the same ISP and live in the same geographic areaFifth lives in California. Nik lives in Canada. I don't think that has anything to do with it.

EDIT: Sounds like it might be down for Mac as well.

Down for me awhile as well.

Thought the server exploded again and started making plans to have a life, but I saw everything was back so no worries there.

I've had intermittent problems, but it's mostly been fine. A few people like InsaneGenius haven't been able to access the forums all day however.

Press all of them in quick succession.

Up, down, up, A, B, A?

I couldn't log on last night at home either.

EDITL: Which apparently doesn't matter now that everything's working but I had to have a good excuse to post my awesome video game joke.

I'm pretty sure it was down for everyone last night. It was just down for a select few very special people before it went down for everyone else.

it was a DNS problem. Power outtage blew and rebooted the NS1 server and it was all types of fucked up when it booted. I will note though that we do not do our own DNS hosting. I handle that all through a guy in Chicago.

That will change later this summer though. I am going to put a server in to be an NS4 server

So my guess of failure for IP to propgate was surprisingly close! Woo Nameserver errors.
