Freedom or Duty, gents?

also, is it just me or are grenades useless against anything but zombies? Other stalkers see it, yell "granata!" and scatter.

And that's a good thing too, since 90% of our members can't read the Cyrillic script. ;)

I am playing Stalker, and I find it interesting, but sometimes I feel a bit lost as to what I'm doing, and feel a bit over my head when I'm stuck in a sewer for some reason looking for some dude I used to know, after negotiating with the military and finding myself fighting people with shotguns who can see me in the dark better than I can see them.

Other than that, there's fun in exploration, gunfights, acquiring loot to sell and buy better stuff, and dealing with supernatural phenomena.

As for who I side with, if they don't shoot at me, I don't shoot at them, and this has proven the basis of dealing with other groups that I often steal from.

It's a strange combination of success and failure. It has interesting artifacts to toy with, but a stealth system that needs polishing. It has interesting environments, but stupid AI. it has some creepy wonderful story, but annoying glitches. Shooting dudes and looting them is fun in the apocalyptic setting kind of thing, but occasionally the shooting is nonsensical.

I both love and don't really like this game. given to the right publisher, it could've become an awesome game to behold. but there are too many things wrong with it for it to be that successful, and it's disappointing.

I always liked Freedom better.
