Anyone else read What the Birds Know (http://fribergthorelli.com/wbk/)? It's actually really good, and heavily cliff-hangery with art that is gorgeous and painfully detailed. They're also kind of asking for more readers, and, after ten years, I figured, "Yeah, more people should know about it."
That said, their website url is, unfortunately, rather strange and hard to remember. That might have something to do with it. Anyway, enjoy!

was reading Dr McNinja (http://drmcninja.com/archives/comic/31p40/) and thinking. Wouldn't it be far smarter just to go somewhere crazy inhospitable and use this on Radical himself? Heck go to your parents place, set some traps, I just figure a ninja could engineer a situation where that would be good enough to win.

Actually, yeah: that was my first thought as well. Heck, it doesn't have to be somewhere that inhospitable. But the McNinja place would be pretty awesome, yeah.

The Kill Six Billion Demons drinking game/disney music sequence is the best thing I've seen in a while.
And it just keeps getting even more awesome.
---------- Post added at 08:20 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:03 PM ----------
I'm nerdy enough to foist this upon you all.
So, the voting gods - most specifically, the "one" that's remaining.
I made a post about them elsewhere, that (with a little editing) is mostly going to be copy/pasted here.
I know the GitP people probably have done a more thorough analysis... and I'd be interested in knowing how this compares!... but I've not seen it yet.
First, there's a lot more (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Germanic_deities) in Norse mythology than are represented here.
At first, I'd thought the Giant had also burned through the 3E list of the gods in Deities & Demigods (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Dungeons_%26_Dragons_deities#Other), and more, but on seeing the whole list - Odin, Aegir, Balder, Forseti, Frey, Freya, Frigga, Heimdall, Hel, Hermod, Loki, Njord, Odur, Sif, Skadi, Surtur, Thor, Thrym, Tyr and Uller - there were more than I thought, and I was wrong.
I would have thought the blue and crown (http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots1012.html) regalia would have been saved for Odin... except, of course, that's not the case.
Those who've voted in the comic so far:
Sutur, Sigrun, Bragi, Iounn, Thyrm, Hermod, Loki, Heimdall, Odin, Thor, Sif, Tyr, Balder, Freya, Freyr, Sunna, Frigg, Njord, Mani, Skadi, Hoder, Finrir, Vafthrudnir, and Hel.
First: alphabetical re-arrangement for my own sanity, plus lining them up together (where the D&D version exists)...
OotS (power; vote): D&D (power; alignment)
Balder (god; no): Balder (intermediate, NG)
Bragi (demi; no): <none>
Finrir (god; yes): <none> {though, in FR there was a similarly-purposed stat'd critter who was CE}
Freya (god; no): Freya (intermediate; NG)
Freyr (god; no): Frey (greater; NG) {though his portfolio was rather different}
Frigg (god; no): Frigga (greater; N)
Heimdall (god; yes): Heimdall (intermediate; LG)
Hel (god; yes): Hel (intermediate; NE)
Hermod (demi; no): Hermod (demi; CN)
Hoder (god; yes): <none> {though his portfolio was partially given to Uller}
Iounn (demi; no): <none> [though she was an unaligned greater power of arcane stuff in 4E]
Loki (god; no): Loki (greater; CE)
Mani (god; no): <none>
Njord (god; yes): Njord (intermediate; NG)
Odin (god/leader; no): Odin (greater; NG)
Sif (god; no): Sif (lesser; CG) {though she was given Skadi's D&D portfolio}
Sigrun (demi; yes): {Valkyries} (quasi; LG)
Skadi (god; yes): Skadi (lesser; N) {though her D&D portfolio was given to Sif, and she had Uller's}
Sunna (god; yes): <none> {though Odur, who may have been Odin, has part of her portfolio}
Sutur (demi; yes): Sutur (intermediate; LE)
Thor (god; no): Thor (greater; CG)
Thyrm (demi; yes): Thyrm (intermediate; LE)
Tyr (god; yes): Tyr (intermediate; LN) {though in FR, he was LG}
Vafthrudnir (god; yes): <none>
... of the D&D gods, that leaves Aegir, Forseti, and Uller.
Of those names:
- Aegir is not on the wikipedia list and Njord already has his portfolio;
- Uller is not on the list, and 2/3 of his D&D portfolio are divvied up among other gods who are;
- Foresti is the only one on the list, his D&D portfolio has not been claimed, and as chairman/arbiter/peacemaker (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forseti) and deliver of justice...
... I'd say he's a pretty solid candidate, and his clerical imagery at least makes some amount of sense.
Obviously, the Giant isn't going by D&D's version of the Norse Pantheon, but he seems to be taking loose inspiration from it and real-world mythology both, so...
That said, Gersemi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gersemi), Hnoss (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hnoss) might work (as both are "valuable" or "treasure" or things), as might Rindr (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rindr).
Blarg, the guessing!

The GITP forum members also think that Forseti is a very viable option, since you're interested on whether they agreed with you.
It'd also make sense on why Hel would want the vote to end with Hermod instead of the very very final vote since Forseti is aparently famous for being a great compromiser in the same way that King Solomon was. He'd probably suggest that the world should be left to its devices until the very instant that the last gate would fail. If it happens to be that case, then destroy the world after. Which was pretty much Loki's suggestion in the first place. Thus the reason why that new vampire was sent over to the Mechane, to grab the orb of teleportation so they can...
A: Hinder the Order's ability to get there in time.
B: Have the vampire team use the orb of teleportation (with some guidance from Hel) to directly go to the gate and break it, causing the very death and destruction that Durkon was going to visit to his homeland (in the same manner that you could destroy a single country like USA by destroying the whole planet).

I know Sparklelord likely has some horrible reason, and knows about the spell and stuff (my money is on, remember we saw Doc as a kid at the portal, he probably saw it there)
But I'd kind of like it if there was nothing deeper to it. He just knew he hid it and wanted to force it out of him. Perhaps because he assumed it was something horrible, thus his disappointment that it was so bland

More or less what my own thought process looked like.

I seriously love the comic Manly Guys Doing Manly Things (www.thepunchlineismachismo.com). Fluffy neon chubby velociraptor birds on tiny motorcycles. Also I adore every single one of Commander's supersoldier family.

Not sure. The cleric was somewhat eccentric before death, being a cleric of stone instead of a god, but the whole thing feels... weird. Funny, though. (Also: nice reference.)

True, sir. True. :)

So King Radical is dead (probably, I mean, he would need a wizard friend or something to survive that explosion), McBonalds is financially ruined, and Franz Reiner has had his reputation irreparably tarnished. Looks like everything is wrapped up neatly for Dr. McNinja with all of his nemeses taken care of, and clearly nothing bad is going to happen in the next 30 seconds.

I think Roy was hoping they'd focus down the no-longer-protected Durkula. So much for those Wisdom scores.

Indeed it was.
And now in the current oots, Belkar is looking very cute, smugly dodging the huge vampire, then staring in awe as the others rush by him, having had their own drastic developments.
Classic.
