This being the "Media Consumption" sub-forum, I figured we could all share some media to consume!

I am not gonna assume you guys aren't aware of the fact that there is actual TV shows and Movies out there to watch legally and free, so this is more or less me going "Hey I found out there was a cool show/movie/etc let me share a link with you!" More for specific example other than me saying go to Hulu.

I mean, we have a big ol' thread in the Video Games section about free games and such so I figured this would be fun!

Remember to not break the forum rules by linking to places breaking copyright.

To start this show we head on over to YouTube:

Gurren Lagann be here (http://www.youtube.com/show?p=1GGORwgVQSw&feature=fvsp). There, now you have absolutely no excuse to not have watched it. English Dubbed.

What show was chock full of mullets but still totally awesome? That's right Macgyver. Watch it here (http://www.youtube.com/show/macgyver?pl=3A67AFC0E6338A34).

You know what I love? Cheesy Kung-Fu movies. Here is a Jackie Chan movie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SgOtOHUcjAM)to get you through the day.

Moving on over to Crunchyroll we find Airmaster (http://www.crunchyroll.com/airmaster), a nifty little tournament fight manga with a mostly female main cast. It's about a girl who kicks everyone's ass with the power of gymnastics.

What? You want something other than TV shows and anime? How about a nice relaxing evening reading Sherlock Holmes (http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/1661)?

Well, I think that is a good start!

I have an excuse: videos unavailable outside of the US. I wanted to watch Gurren Lagann a month or two ago because I haven't watched any animes before, and I actually went via that link at the time, but no dice.

Sucks being a filthy English limey.

That's actually the case with most licensed stuff. Because shit gets licensed in Europe but no one bothers to make use of that license, they just don't want you to legally see a show. Or so it seems. Then, about two years later when no one cares anymore they're like "Here, have these DVDs, it's got a mediocre dub at best and the subtitles are the dub script, have fun with that"

Gurren Lagann got out rather early, though. And suffers from none of the above. Aside from the dub. I mean the German one. English is pretty good. Because they used the US one.

It's the international copyright laws that suck.

Check out this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdcRfpOMWkc&feature=related). Chances are none of you will fully get it or find it funny at all. A lot of the humour is based on Finnish society, subtle things you'd have to just know. But I'mma gonna link it anyway.

Forgott to add apologies for the less-than-perferc subtitles.
