View Full Version : POS stepped down as a mod, then immediately stepped back up again. What an idiot.

As per his own request POS isn't a mod anymore.
He hasn't given any reason why he's stepping down so we don't really know any more than you do. Maybe it's going to become clearer in due time, maybe not - either way, his choice.
It's probably a good idea to refrain from any speculation or posting any info he wouldn't want public, since if he'd wanted there to be an explanation we would have one already.

Was it the constant propositions for sodomy? You could have told us :ohdear:

I didn't really want to make a big deal over it.
But no, guys, please speculate your hearts out if you want. There isn't really a good reason anyway, so maybe y'all can come up with something more interesting.

I'm sorry man, but after you got her from the 10 foot alligator, no one could have saved her from the waterfall. We all have our limits.

POS was tested positive for HIV Saturday. He believed that he had gained this disease during his repeated sodomy of the rest of the NPF staff (Have yet to determine whether he was receiving or delivering). Due to the increase in medical bills for having constant treatment, he has to quit being a Mod and take a part-time job at Denny's where he will cut is finger and put droplets of blood in it to get revenge on angry customers.
Or he could just be lazy, one of the two.

POS is just mad he didn't get green light to ban me after he found out that I'm part of an international conspiracy together with the pope and Charlie's angels are the only ones who can stop us. It wasn't so much the fact that there was a conspiracy (with an unknown party to conspire against), but that they sent three beautiful girls after us, and not him.

The simplest explanation is that he simply doesn't want to be a mod anymore and be forced to come back day after day and put up with us. If he ever does want to come back, he wants it to be of his own choice.
That being said, fare thee well POS, you glorious bastard. May Murphy keep His Baleful Eye off of you, excepting when it would be most hilarious.

I'm not quitting the forums or anything. I mean, shit, I could stay a mod and come and go as I please.
Basically this just isn't a good job for a guy like me to have. I'm impatient, apathetic, misanthropic, paranoid, impulsive, etc. and every time I have to do anything mod-related I have a massive knot in my stomach the whole time and invariably end up coming away feeling like I screwed it up.
That and I'm impossible to take seriously, apparently, so it's not like me trying to do anything around here did any good. We've got a full enough mod staff as it is, and I was able to help out with some nice things like the rules overhaul, so I'm proud of the couple accomplishments I've pulled in.
I'm pretty unnecessary at this point.

Not to be that guy, but weren't you appointed because we didn't have enough mods anymore? Your other points are all valid, and I'm not questioning your decision, but I don't really see how you're "unnecessary."

It was more "Hey, everyone's pissed off, maybe making POS a mod will brighten things up" and then I was a massive dickbutt and pissed people off left and right before coming home from work one day and ragequitting over something that didn't even happen on the forums.
But now that they made a big official public thread about it I'd feel like a total heel attention whore if I tried to get the job back anyway soooooooooooooo

That's the downside to the admin user account -- random threads look like we all made them. And this thread is almost just as sudden as the other one.

I don't think a good moderator doesn't worry about decisions made, even small ones. I suppose that's one of the pluses of setting up a team to help each other out, etc. I'd say that means you're a good choice for such a position. That said, willingly giving yourself unnecessary stress isn't really great, either, so in that sense maybe you'd rather not deal with it, which is totally understandable.

I'm not naive enough to say that bringing you in wasn't done in part to alleviate fallout, but you're certainly not unnecessary. Also, yes, thanks for the contributions you've made!
Personally I think all mods should be chosen through something like American Idol or Project Runway anyway. Have a judging panel and someone be the nice guy, someone be the pretty lady and one guy be an asshole to all potential candidates.

Meister could be the fair one, while ultimately rejecting all applicants for not being spiteful enough (those that ARE sufficient would of course be rejected out of spite).
Synk could act as a stand in for the female since RaiRai isn't around much, but would in fact be pulling double duty as Simon.

Well, thank you. I think it's largely a conflict between wanting to do the job and a surprising lack of faith in my own abilities to do it, which I think is probably tied more into a wide variety of mostly non-forum-related things I'm currently dealing with.
And maybe a little too much eagerness to prove myself causing me to take an overly hands-on approach to the task when I really should have just relaxed and dealt with things after they happened/when members actually complained to us rather than trying to head things off preventatively.
Regardless of whether or not I somehow wind up with the job again, I've deleted my twitter account just to keep myself from feeling like I have to deal with the root causes of everyone's bitching and moaning that they do on there to just vent frustrations rather than expect someone to come along and try to fix things for them and just pissing them off further. It was overstepping my bounds and it won't happen again.

I'm willing to unabashedly put my fist down as being right, with or without mod powers.
Just sayin'.
In all seriousness, POS, it's best that you do what you're happy with. Unless you're getting paid, there's no reason to do a job that makes you miserable, no matter how well you do it. If there's no part of moderating that you like, or have motivation to do, you're perfectly entitled not to do it.

Attention: Virgin females of these forums!
POS Industries, NPF Moderator, has recently announced, unmistakably, that he will ban all virgins on these Forums with the intent to offer De-Virginization. Although, I find this unfair, there is nothing I can do about it. Except offering this "De-Virginization" myself.
Coming to the conclusion that this was POS' plan all along is not at all a stretch.
