View Full Version : Where Is Warbot?

I, for one miss the depressingly bleak, soul-crushing existence that is the life of our favourite misanthropic metal friend. (No, not that one from Hitchhiker's Guide.)

When can we expect more works of a comical nature?

Sad thing is, I think the plan is that every successive page of Warbot must be bleaker or more heart-rending than the last... it's getting pretty hard to top it as it is!

But yeah, would like to see more too.

From Brian's Formspring:

"What happened to Zack/Warbot/EM:MH?

Zack is busy failing to pay his rent out in fancytown CA."

So, the way to get more Warbot is to give Zack monies. Logic dictates it is so.

People usually pay money for anti-depressants.

I never really saw Warbot (character) as being misanthropic, but I do want to read more of that one guy person robot whose existence sucks way harder than mine or that of anyone who counts.

No one actually likes Marvin, anyway.

Clearly you've never heard of beer.

I invalidate your argument with the truth that beer is the water from the garden of eden. It is in no way harmful to yourself.

If you think beer comes from Eden you've obviously never heard of Germany.

If you think beer comes from Eden you've obviously never heard of Germany.

They just rediscovered it first, hid it's location and actually ship all beer from there while their breweries are elaborate hoaxes.

I think the main problem with getting Warbot out there is aligning my schedule with Zack's.

When I'm ready to write a comic, he's too busy to draw it. When he's ready to draw it, I'm too busy to write it.

In either case, a script will be done and then it'll be weeks or a month or more before it gets worked on. We've talked about how to overcome this before, but it never pans out. It's a project we're both still interested in, we've just got to figure out how to make it happen more often.

rpgdemon

Couldn't you write a buffer of scripts, and when Zach gets to them, let him draw them?

So, when you have time to write it, you do, no matter how ahead of Zach you get. Then when he has time to draw it, he does. This way if you have freak internet outages, scripts can still get to people.

Kurosen
10-19-2010, 11:50 AM
Yeah, and we did that for a while. Still ended up with weeks or months between updates. Didn't really help.

Aah. Well, if you're both busy, I don't know if there's gonna be a way to avoid delays. I'd say just make the Warbot link start flashing "New!" from time to time, and blame any problems in seeing the new comic on an old cache of the page. :P

Marvin was great in the book or the original TV series. The american version of the film just "didn't get it," ANY of it sadly.

I just came back to the thread and saw this. I kind of feel insulted that this post assumes I was limiting my statement to the poor, albeit entertaining at times, 2005 movie adaptation.

If anything, Alan Rickman made Marvin more tolerable.

Also, Warbot and such, rabble rabble.

The best Warbot strips (and by "best", I mean "most soul-crushing") are those where he unintentionally causes pain and death (Like when he crashed the plane, or when he drove his coworker insane). The ones where he stands around and gets insulted (Such as this one, or the Washing Machine) are not as great.

ChaoticBrain
01-04-2011, 08:02 PM
But... but he never got his presents. I can't live with the thought of a poor old war machine being denied the simple joy of gift-giving.

Menarker
01-05-2011, 02:05 PM
That would probably be true if Warbot's life didn't suck. Too bad it does and he has the independent thought to be aware of it, hence resulting in typically depressed but entirely justified mood/mindset.

And yes, I kinda like when he accidently cause pain to others, mainly as some sort of karmic retribution to the humans who rebuke him, while still keeping his good natured and innocent charm. ^^

Link_991
01-06-2011, 08:03 AM
This one didn't tear at my soul, just made me dislike the human characters making any suffering Warbot may inadvertently cause them justified.

P.S.: Chrono Trigger rocks.
