So I just watched Limits of Control: Here is the trailer
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7AUFMGAck6A
It looks like some kind of typical spy thriller from thetrailer.
The movie, however, is typical Jim Jamusch- very slow, contemplative, nothing really happens (the first hour is basically jjust sitting in a cafe lookign around at stuff)- that trailer has every even vaguely actionscene in the movie. There were riots in the theatre when it showed at film festival back home. Classic trolling via trailer.
I really love when the traileris completely different to the movie itself so I guess I'm looking for more examples?

One trailer for Resident Evil: Apocalypse (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=inwnB714Nq4) made it look like it wasn't total shit.

That looks pretty good.

That's because the trailer uses no footage from the actual film.

The reverse isn't quite true, but it doesn't count.
