First discussion thread whoo!

First off, taking a page from AB's book.

http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2010/307/c/7/terezi_pap_animated_by_vorkedlarfleeze-d323clf.gif

These images will gradually get more shippy as we go on.

I'll introduce my PC properly at some point in the future.

So far, I like the way we are rolling! And to Overcast, about the text: I'll have you know I actually am colorblind.

Here is Typewithme (http://typewith.me/br67d70NYg), a site for collaborative writing. Have fun and don't hurt yourselves.

CHARACTER LIST

Dracorion as ZEBREKK SALAKK (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1085720&postcount=33). He once shot a guy.

Arcanum as REZTEK MELRUE (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1085312&postcount=129). Battling foes with the power of rock!

Token as TERGUM CAPITI (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1085097&postcount=94). Sort of an asshat.

Geminex as SCALIS LECTOR (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1085896&postcount=79). Maybe if you hurry, you can still check out the latest issue of hunk rump.

SSB Intern as VINTAG SOCIUS (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1085952&postcount=96). She's quite flighty a broad, but you best not tell her that to her face unless you're prepared for crazy antics.

Amsterdam as SRYNXA SORIDI (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1085958&postcount=101). Be on the watchout for her. Someday, she'll kill an important person.

DON'T MOCK MY DISABILITY!

Do you know how hard I struggled during the short years I was in an art class? Unless I was sitting next to someone who wasn't a douche, I was hopeless in colors! I would have had to claim it abstract or shit.

Edit: I put that nifty site for collab-posts in the opening post.

Aldurin

Less talk, more conversation.

EDIT: We should establish a system with this collaborative thing, if someone starts a pesterlog, only the person they're pestering can respond to that section of the document. We can essentially have multiple conversations running if we use this properly. And memos are fair game for past, present and future people.

Anybody have anything to add to this general guideline, or do you have a better system or do you want to just wing it?

Try to eat even one library item and you will be smacked about by an enraged orange FLASH OF DOOM. Otherwise known as Scalis' lusus. But how will Gorrma know if library books taste good if she doesn't try to cook one?!

Stop putting limits on her creative genius!

I still love it. Even got to look crazy when we both had the same color.

Edit 1 -- Ninja post is correct. Sucks that it's not just me, but then again I'm a little glad that it's not just me.

Ummm we broke the site thing already. That or it's just naturally unstable. Or it just hates my lap top. Either way it keeps randomly disconnecting me.

Edit 2 -- Now I'm getting a consistent 503 error. Hopefully it's just something wrong with the site at this particular moment and not a persistent problem.

Bard The 5th LW

Hmmm, its usually better than this. I'll try to get a different server and see if it will work better.

Seems the whole site is down, rather than just our docuement.

EDIT: We should establish a system with this collaborative thing, if someone starts a pesterlog, only the person they're pestering can respond to that section of the document. Most conversations will be between two players. You can hold several at one time, but they are all exclusive to two people. Memos will be open to everyone. However, if you want to timefuck the memo you should plan in advance.

Face to face conversations will be played out like they are in real life of course.

edit2: Typewithme seems to be back up

If indeed you are colorblind please designate me a color. I don't know what style you are, and indeed am relatively unfamiliar with the whole disability. So I have no idea what to change to.

I think Gorrma and Leraje will be good friends, for he fears not the bitey. His lusus is a little bitey after all.

Right, I started a pre-game (SGRUB game that is) game memo on Typewithme. Reztek started the memo shortly after regaining consciousness, all of which will be mentioned in my next post. Everything pertaining to the Musical Rumpus Dance Party bulletin board will take place between the dash (----) lines I made. Memo content will be kept within the tilde(~~~~) lines. Feel free to respond to a memo until it is closed, nobody will be banned for responding. Also, this bulletin board is strictly linear, so no Past/Future selves.

On an unrelated note, trying to type complete sentences while having a pause every four syllables and making sure that pause doesn't cut a word in half is more challenging than I thought it would be. Still fun though.

Hmmm.... I don't think Gorrma's typing style is quite quirky enough, now that I've written a bit as her in the typewithme thing. I'll think on that for a while. I also already hate her shortened trolltag.

Gonna do more memo work. I remember Bard saying something about someone having to be at the frog ruins at some point to get Sgrub, hence my response the the accusation of making the game.

We need to work out exactly who visited the retarded frog temple and got the game.

Arcanum
11-04-2010, 10:45 AM
Yeah I just assumed your troll would be converting the frog stuff to code since you're the only tech dude introduced so far.

edit-- since everyone decided to ignore my suggested guidelines to memo responding I got rid of the lower ~~~ and ---- lines (which were meant to contain the memo) so that it doesn't look like you're all responding to a non-existent memo.

Ooops, sorry Arcanum. I didn't notice we HAD guidelines. >.>

Also, man I love this game already. This and the typewithme file are all both damn entertaining to read. XD

I'm going to be a little delayed because I am a filthy copycat. Can't wait to see this! I love your art style, Arhra.

Also also, I'm still trying to come up with a decent title for Gorrma for once she gets in-game. Sorry for the delay, Bard.

edit: Which PM in particular?

Geminex
11-04-2010, 03:38 PM
That'd work.

But I still think a table with:

Would really help matters. Like I said, I'll make one. And I'll add in 'interests' as well.

Bard, I just finished reading Homestuck from start to finish yesturday (Was reading it for a while at first, but stopped at Hivebent because my poor memory especially for names made it difficult to process that particular arc).

If any space suddenly becomes available, I'll be willing to try making a profile if you'll have me. (I already got a character idea in mind) Otherwise, hoping this RP of yours goes well.

Name: Zebrek Salakk

Gender: Male

Age: Six Solar Sweeps

Appearance:

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d13/fjgca17/Untitled-3.jpg

Lusus: Big firefly. Not that big, just bigger than the average earth firefly. About the size of his head.

Trollian Handle: Handle is spectacularHellion. Typing quirk is complete lack of capitalization and punctuation.

Blood Color: Bluuuuueee.

Hive: A cave. I dunno... um... I'm thinking two rooms. One is the bedroom, where he keeps most of his crap. Zebrek owns a number of plushes, kinda like Terezi. His husktop, some posters, probably a few magic eight balls, and an assortment of shiny stuff he picks up in places.

The other room is I guess a living room/entrance hall/whatever. Also invaded by the plushies and the shiny stuff and the posters.

Strife Specibus: Shotgunkind

Fetch Modus: Pictionary.

Title: Bard of Fuck Knight of Space

Dreamself: Prospit

Interests: Dangerous beasties, roleplaying games, shiny things, toys. Will probably make up more as the RP goes along.

Additional Notes: Nuthin'! Except that probably half of this sheet will be invalidated if the RP lasts long enough. It happens.

Because seriously, don't tell me you don't think Exile Fifth would be fucking awesome.

Geminex
11-04-2010, 06:29 PM
Y'know, I was gonna introduce my troll properly today. But instead I spent several hours in-memo and working out a variety of inter-troll relationships. Totally worth it. I have 4 different PM conversations, two threads, one communal text file, and a crappy sketch I'm working on! This is exactly what I expected from this RP.

This is getting really fun.

And following up on Drac's suggestion, I'm thinking... Why not start a new round of signups once the exiles start having an effect? I mean, that'd allow more people got get into and contribute to the story, especially those who don't have the time to make a troll. Sure, 'main' players can make exiles as well. But I think it'd be cool if we let a few more people into this RP. The more the merrier! And exiles might be a good way to do that.

I dunno, though. Your thoughts?

Also, off to bed. See ya.

I'm trying to look at yours and mine and figure out if your hair is standing up straight and if my hair seems bent back enough (the hair and horns essentially make his profile a Shadow the Hedgetroll).

If your guy's hair is sticking straight up then it's fine, I'll just have to do a side-view of mine to get some distinction.

Okay, I got preliminary approval from the Bard.

has begun trolling Discussion Thread [DT]"]Name: Your name is TENARR ANADIR.

Gender: Male

Age: You are seven solar sweeps old.

Appearance: Like all other aquatic trolls, you possess fin-like protrusions on either side of your face. Your skin is a lighter grey than normal due to all the time you spend in the darkness of the ocean floor. Your horns, in addition to being short, are angled sideways so much that they are nearly horizontal. Despite being so short, they are clearly visible through the short black hair on your head. The hair is somewhat wavy. Your attire consists of pitch-black clothing, foregoing the traditional symbolized shirt. You wear a fair bit of jewelry, denoting your status on the upper end of the hemospectrum. A few silver rings with purple gemstones adorn your left hand, close to the similarly-styled bracelet on the matching wrist. Around your neck is a necklace, which is silver. There is a fang hanging from it. Where it’s from is a mystery.

Lusus: Your lusus is an aquatic creature possessing eight delicate tentacles. It keeps pretty much to itself, seldom interacting with you in any way, anymore. This mystifies you, but you're mostly okay with it. You're sure it has its reasons, however mysterious that may be at the moment. You’re sure it’s a mystery you will solve some day.

Trollian Handle: Your trolltag is bottomDweller and you speak in... a down-to-earth, and depressed… manner...

Blood Color: Nothing but one of the richest purple blood colors runs through your veins!

Hive: Your hive happens to be an underwater cavern near the seafloor. In defiance of the odd site of the hive, it is surprisingly well-furnished.

Strife Specibus Your Strife Specibus is set to pistolkind, and have a Revolver allocated to it, as befitting a member of your social status. You are an excellent shot and go nowhere without your Revolver, lest you fall victim to some unfortunate circumstance.

Fetch Modus: Your Fetch Modus is set to Mystery Modus. How does it work? It’s a mystery you intend to solve.

Title: Your title is the Lord of Depths.

Dreamself: Your Dreamself sleeps on Prospit.

Interests: Supernatural phenomena, the ocean's mysteries, mysteries in general

Additional Notes: As an aquatic troll, you are capable of living and breathing both on land and underwater. Also, your sight is nearly perfect.

Aldurin
11-04-2010, 08:55 PM
Bard is demanding that I get my CS out.

Name: Aldurin

Gender: Male, or as male as trolls can be.

Age: Approximately 7 solar cycles, but my lusus doesn't keep that detail as clearly as other things.

Appearance: Horns: Two horns that are pointy an about the length of my head, but they bend backwards at the base and sort of resemble Sonic the Hedgehog's quills along with the hair. Body: Pretty much normal, except some scarring on my left forearm from unstable versions of a wrist-clasp computer. Face: Flat teeth except for two pointed teeth on upper row (forgot name, just think like Shadow the Hedghog's teeth) and my right iris is a swirl. Shirt: Infinity symbol in gray.

Lusus: Flying-monkey shaped. Specializes in hand-to-hand combat and taught me everything I know about hurting my opponent with my bare hands. Sometimes he seems distant and exhausted, and it's those times he ponders about if longevity is really a gift or a curse. I figure he's super old and will probably be reluctant about dying in order to be prototyped, though I figure if I keep him alive long enough to enter he'll enjoy the change of pace.

Trollian handle: technopathicalAnomaly, and I tAlk wIth A jAggEd AccEnt

Blood Color: Grey blood, rare mutation. At least it's not red blood.

Hive: A complex built into a mountainside. It blends into the scenery and goes very deep, it's excellent for lab experiments.

Strife Specibus: Special computer gloves, or glovekind. Somewhat modifiable, but no modifications have been perfected yet.

Fetch Modus: I build my own but they always come out too complex. Current working design is a Directory Modus, which works like a computer file system.

Title: Conduit of Chaos.

Dreamself: Dersian.

Interests: Quantum technology, I've been trying to build a mental interface with my computer-bracer. My lusus says I have a latent affinity with technology but I don't show much beyond easily mastering coding and building stuff.

Additional notes: I have an erratic system of reasoning, and feel remotely jealous of trolls with actual powers. My techno-expertise is probably to compensate for that.

Playing Sgrub because I want a change of pace in my lifestyle, also because it looks the the end of my quest for the ultimate Role-playing game. I try to stay socially stable with other trolls but I have a set level of tolerance for certain things, and I don't bother maintaining a kismesis as it feels good not to hate anybody.

Name: CAOWAY HEMNET

Gender: Male or whatever the stupid alien equivalent is.

Age: Almost 7 sweeps.

Appearance: A stout and surprisingly burley troll with one fish hook shaped horn and one long slightly curved horn. He has yellow eyes, a mess of greenish black hair, and two protruding fangs on his lower jaw like a bulldog. He's always wearing a dark gray fisherman's cap, a gray sweater with an sea green water insignia on it, black jeans, and a pair galoshes.

http://i397.photobucket.com/albums/pp51/InternNin/CaowayconceptpartTroispointtwo.png

Lusus: A blind Sea Jaguaren with a mutilated nose and lame back left-flipper affectionately named Beechie. Before it was blinded, the old beast used to do all the fishing for the two of them. Now the task of gathering food falls on Caoway, which is kind of difficult since the damn thing eats half of its body weight a day and is as big as two space SUVs.

Trollian Handle: meloncholicChumly
MC: /j TypeS\ in complete S\entenceS\, with /juS\t a few poleS\ an/) lineS\ thrown in there for the S\ake of beinG\ quirky.

Blood Color: DarkSeaGreen

Hive: A miniscule shanty atop a small secluded cape on an island in an stormy archipelago.

Strife Specibus: Pole-and-line-kind.

Fetch Modus: Tide Modus. Depending on the time of day and the position of the moons and sun, items can be plucked out with ease or have to be fished out.

Title: Sage of Waves

Dreamself: Prospit. Not yet awake.

Interests: Caoway used to love venturing out on to the open seas of Alternia in his dinghy with lusus in tow (or towing him, as the case would sometimes be), traveling to new shores, getting involved in whatever blood-feud that was going on, and picking up EXOTIC ARTIFACTS OF INTEREST from the places he visited. One of his other hobbies was writing SHITTY JOURNALS DETAILING HIS EXPLOITS and showing them to his contacts and anyone else on the Troll internet.

In recent days, he's grown to despise the sea and seems to have lost all passion for life. The only thing keeping him going is the care and upkeep of his lusus.

Additional notes: Had a rival in one Zottic Garefs, another troll who published a more popular series of journals detailing the rat-bastard's adventures in the dark underbelly of Troll high society. Things escalated when Zottic lost all of his credibility and most of his readers after Caoway proved that the journals were nothing more than a work of fiction.

From there it became back forth battle of destroying the journals each of them happen to be working on at the time. That is, until one day, when Zottic retaliated by attacking Caoway in his own hive and mutilating some bit of Caoway's alien physiology that humans have never heard of. Then to add insult and more injury to injury, he tore out the Sea Jaguaren's eyes and ripped up its nostrils with Caoway's own fish hooks.

Zottic then fled and Caoway had just enough time to shout some curses and declarations of vengence upon his hated enemy before the bi-daily tidal wave swallowed Zottic up. The sea had taken away his hated enemy, and chance for vengence along with him, and left him nothing. He is now just half a troll with a crippled lusus and no purpose.

He now only goes out to sea to gather food for him and Beechie, and has all but stopped writing his journals. Hasn't been in contact with anyone in almost half a sweep.

He may need a push to participate in the SGRUB session.

Here is the Character Sheet, since I've been accepted. ^^

Would be nice if I someone who is more talented in art could come up with a suitable picture for the character, Sharl. Since I suck at art.

Name: SHARL WELATROTTER

Gender: Male

Age: 7 Solar Sweeps (15 years)

Appearance: His very long straight horns sprout from the lower back corners of his skull and grow down and outward until they are just a little more than shoulder length. The angle that the two horns grow out do not prevent him from looking up and around, although they are a painful nuisiance if he falls backwards on them, although they themselves are incredibly resistant to such trauma. They are single layer kinda like the picture of Piron. Not stacked layers like Gorma's "multi-layer cake horns".
Fairly tall with a tiny bit of mass to his otherwise slim frame. Has slightly long black smooth clean hair with an arching curved lock on front of his forehead and 3 straight locks dangling beside both ears.
Ears are small but slightly curved as if built to capture sound.
His average sized eyes are positioned somewhat at a downward angle kinda like \ / (but not this steep), often in a shifty sideway mischevious expression or perverted grin. Color of eye is standard orange.
Slightly long neck, somewhat narrow chin, but not exactly pointed.
Hands are fairly large with slenderish strong fingers, great for grabbing loot!
Teeth are perfectly alligned, the inner teeths being visably sharper than his front teeth.
As for clothing... You got the symbol. Short sleeved shirt that goes half ways with buttons, but he keeps it unbuttoned anyhow. Wears convertible pants with appropriate color scheme.

Lusus: Ayres, a large apeish custodian mostly white and gray. Demands about a quarter of all the things Sharl gathers from his packrat antics as "rent", but otherwise treats Sharl with considerable protection and eagerness to please. The things that Sharl gives him, he then combines to creates into physical abstract art of dubious value which he scatters on their lawn or inside the house.

Trollian Handle: butketHed. Brown Text like his blood. Writes in Comic Sans MS font. Has almost no writing quirks although is prone frequent emotioncons and occassional esciplises... =P

Blood Color: Brown. But he doesn't care about it or anyone's blood color though.

Hive: A huge warehouse style hive with lots of big rooms suited for storing the large amount of stuff Sharl packrats and the weird bits of physical abstract arts his Lusus creates out of said stuff. That and the size of said Lusus kinda requires amply large hallways.

Strife Specibus: Improv Staff-kind! Money-kind!

Improv-Staff kind: Tends to modify his staff with goods he find or use objects as if they were staffs. So, if he finds a broken metal point, he might improvise a spear by attaching it to his staff. If he finds an umbrella, he'll wield it like a staff while using the umbrella cover as a shield! If he finds a huge weight to attach to it, he could make it like a club, morning star or flail.

Money-Kind: Throws enough money at a problem and make it go away or make it friendly! Or blungeon it with the money's weight. (Boonbucks are heavy enough to crush a piggy bank to rumble.)

Fetch Modus: The Bargin Shop Modus. Has a sort of "credit line" where Sharl can take out anything he wants at any time. More valuable items put in the Fetch Modus increase his credit limit, so he can take out lots of minor items or a few big items. But if his credit is low, he'll be unable to pull out items exceeding it without contributing other items to it. Thus, it is in Sharl's interest to packrat as many valuable items and keep it there to keep his credit high so he can take out any valuable item he needs at the time he needs it.

Title: Steward of Prosperity

Dreamself: I don't care which one I join. Go ahead and put me in whichever one you want, although his personality might fit better in Prospit.

Interests: Is a packrat of sort and likes trading things with other people, trying to win "bargins", while making new "friendships" in the process. Although this is also due to his having to give a quarter of all the stuff he gets to his custodian as rent. Has a perchance for "trollish pron" including occasionally wearing a bucket on his head (His horns grow downward, thus he can wear it easily) for laughs and giggles especially when trolling his troll friends. Doesn't like to play FLARP games unless it is a team game and he's teamed with someone else. He's pretty enthuasistic when he is teamed up though.

Additional Notes:

Supreme Salesman's Charisma: The tone of his voice or the odd combination of his personal characteristics somehow make him a very compelling person when he's suggesting a trade or deal to anyone. For some reason or other, anyone capable of understanding what he says or trying to offer has a tendency to accept his deals at more or less face value if they don't have a jarring issue with any of the terms. This is not a magical ability of any sort though.

High physical strength (Personally and Fetch Modus): Enables him to carry absurdably large objects like sofas and pianos in his Fetch Modus without encumberance or risking breaking the items, thus supporting his packrat habits.

Dirty Minded: As can be seen in his Trollian-Handle butketHed, has a tendency to be incredibly open to discussing topics or sharing items or content that would cause severe embarressment or brain-bleach. In other words, he easily thinks and talk about inappropriate topics... Such as wearing a bucket (which counts as something like a obscene sex toy in Troll culture) on his head.

Hey Menarker, just so you know pesterchum/trollian handles are consistently in the format "sweetJegus". In other words, the first word is all lowercase and the second word has the first letter capitalized, with no non-alphabetical characters.

So basically your trollian handle should look like this: butketHed

I hope I'm not sounding like a snobbish ass, I just saw it and felt I should point it out.

Name: Leraje Orobas

Gender: Male

Age: 6 solar sweeps

Appearance: Grey skin, both eyes completely black, wears a pair of black half frame glasses and a black sweatshirt with the image of dubious nature (http://eastanyhow.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/symbol1.jpg?w=500) that supposedly has some connection to an idea in xenopsychology called "friendship". Also tends to wear a grey zip up hoody with holes for his horns in case he decides to put it over his head, black jeans, and black boots. A bit thin with shaggy black hair and medium sized horns that shoot toward the back of his head, opposite of the way his hair grows. His eyes tend to be half closed most of the time, and since they have no point of reference it is sometimes difficult to get a gauge of if he is paying attention or not, and considering he has a history of zoning out a lot it is indeed possible.

Lusus: Giant Salamander, named Seymour, keen on attacking Leraje when he least expects it.

Trollian Handle: absentPsychologist

Blood Color: Indigo

Hive: Lives in a simple, single story hive with a small pier area that stretches into the shore, where his lusus will crawl into its sleeping space and go out to hunt for the both of them.

Strife Specibus: Chainkind

Fetch Modus: Word Ladder Modus, In order to get an item Leraje is confronted with a word that is a degree of changes away from the actual word. He must change one letter in the word into another letter to make a new word until he gets to the item he wants and then he receives it.

Title: Mage of Heart

Dreamself: Prospit

Interests: Leraje has a distinct interest in PSYCHOLOGY, primarily the troll understanding of pity and hate, aka ROMANCE. He has the eventual dream of finding some way into the classes of the IMPERIAL DRONES so that he may take a personal hand in the progression of his race, and be able to see the kind of situations he tries to set all the way to the creation of INCESTUOUS SLURRY. He also has a great love of ALIENS the complex idea of emotions that are beyond the scope of the troll mind creating an OBSESSION to understand things that no troll is meant to.

Additional Notes: An Unbreakable Union
Despite his love of relationships he seems to have trouble starting one for himself. Which is something he personally worries about when he has the time(due to his heroes being the same people who murder those who cannot contribute to the genetic future of their species), but tends to blow off most of the time finding more enjoyment in his moraillegience than in trying to find any rom with others.
He also has a tendency to zone out a lot, his brain lost in the meddling plots he has to ship his friends into oblivion and the speculation of insane concepts like friendship.
Has the inherited power of regenerating limbs. A useful thing with such a violent lusus.

Name: Ballaa Dehian

Gender: Male

Age: Six solar sweeps, dude.

Appearance: Somewhat stocky build, though not grossly out of shape by any means. Has long, thin horns that stick straight up out of the sides of his head. Typically wears a black cape with a hooded cowl through which his horns stick through the top and a yellow, pouch-laden belt about his waist. While the cowl obscures his face, his clever disguise has yet to fool a soul, nor has his masked visage struck fear into the hearts of even the meekest of creatures. Wears the bright yellow logo of his favorite fictional hero emblazoned across his shirt.

http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o159/posindustries/Ballaa.png

Lusus: His lusus is DEEEEAAAAAAAAAAD!

Trollian Handle: vengefulRodentia. speaks in a... haltingly GRUFF and... INTENSE... goddamn bat-manner.

Blood Color: Yellow

Hive: Stately Dehian Manor is, despite its name, something of a small, modest hive with very little of anything remarkable about it, befitting his middling caste. It does, however, boast an impressive series of caves through which an intrepid vigilante hero might set up his secret base of operations, but it's mostly just dark and a bit dangerous so Ballaa doesn't go down there too often if he can help it.

Strife Specibus: Boomeringkind

Fetch Modus: Utility Belt Modus. Popularized as able to hold anything and everything an aspiring nocturnal vigilante might need to fight crime. Is actually just a gaudy yellow belt with pouches and you can't even tell what is in which pouch so you're liable to pull out something entirely different from what you were after if you aren't careful.

However, what you want isn't necessarily what you need, and rumor has it that the belt modus will give you the right tool for the job when it counts most, whether it's what you were looking for or not.

Title: Seer of Echo

Dreamself: Derse

Interests: Ballaa is an avid fan of illustrated serialized periodicals, particularly those involving exceptional heroic trolls of varying special abilities. His all-time favorite, however, is the Nocturnal Wingedrat Vigilante, who has no extraodinary powers beyond his own will, ingenuity, and preparedness. So much does he look up to this heroic troll that Ballaa strives everyday to be just like him, donning a homemade replica of the Nocturnal Wingedrat Vigilante's costume and training ever so hard to live up to his idol.

Sadly, Ballaa isn't particularly good at it, as his ability to intimidate the craven and cowardly lot leaves much to be desired and he's absolutely terrible at maintaining a secret identity, though his detective skills are coming along and he's getting to be a decent shot with the Nocturnal Wingedrat Vigilante's trademark weapon, the Wingedraterang. He also boasts impressive hearing abilities.

Additional Notes: Ballaa's identification with the Nocturnal Wingedrat Vigilante stems from the loss of his own lusus in a shocking act of violence, perpetrated by an unseen assailant firing a bolt of energy from somewhere far off in the ocean. This is, however, just about the only thing he has in common with his hero, as he has neither the vast fortune of the Vigilante's superior bloodcaste, the genius intellect, the many years of disciplined training, the intimidating presence, or a major metropolitan hiveblock in which to patrol. To make matters worse, he is of the rare breed of troll capable of braving the harsh light of the Alternian sun, and as a result doesn't like to stay up too late otherwise he just feels groggy all day.

Name: Gorrma Caprii

Gender: Female

Age: 6 solar sweeps

Appearance:
http://img703.imageshack.us/img703/9468/troll.png
She has braces! She doesn’t really mind them, but it makes eating stuff a little difficult sometimes! And that is bad because Gorrma likes to eat! Oh, and that’s not a skirt—it’s her official Gourmancy apron! She has to be ready to test daring new recipes at a moment’s notice, and no self-respecting Gourmancer would be caught dead without proper cooking attire! Other Gourmancers would be offended and kill them on sight for breaking the dress code. And then cook them.

Lusus: Gorrma’s Lusus looks like a horse-sized goat with horns and jagged teeth similar to Gorrma’s. His name is Nommington! And he eats just about everything, just like Gorrma! Nommington and Gorrma go on culinary adventures together in search of the fabled Ultimate Recipe, a dish so exquisite it can give whoever eats it the power to crush mountains with their jaws alone. It probably even tastes good!

Trollian Handle: omnipotentOmnivore. She talksh with a shlight lishp thanksh to the brasches on her teeth. She’s also prone to using cooking puns.

Blood Color: Olive Green.

Hive: Subterranean hive. Gorrma has designed her hive to accommodate her cooking and food obsession, leaving herself with several underground chambers for storing ingredients. She lives at the edge of a forest, where she often goes hunting for new ingredients.

Strife Specibus: Cleaverkind. Gorrma, like any self-respecting Gourmancer, always has a set of cooking knives on hand for harvesting fresh ingredients! She’s deadly with a meat cleaver.

Fetch Modus: Chef Modus. This modus breaks down every item submitted into its base parts. To remove an item, you must provide a proper recipe of base parts. For example, a chair would break down into WOOD + NAILS + PAINT. To remove the chair, you would enter CHAIR: WOOD +NAILS+PAINT. This can be a hassle if you can’t remember what everything is made of. But Gorrma likes the challenge!

Title: (Not sure about this one yet)

Dreamself: Prospit

Interests: Cooking! Eating! Gorrma wants to be a Gourmancer when she grows up—one of the elite chefs of Trollkind who ravage worlds in search of delicious ingredients for new culinary inventions. Gorrma practices all the time! She eats everything! The fabled Gourmancers of Olde are her heroes: she owns copies of their recipe books and reads stories of their great exploits to her Lusus, Nommington. Her favorite story is of the Iron Gourmancer Honjya, who created a dish so spicy it burned through the stomachs of six of his strongest disciples, then pooled on the ground beneath their corpses and bored a hole into the kitchen-arena floor. It’s said that the dish continued to burn down through the solid rock of the planet’s crust until it hit molten lava, which Honjya drew up into his kitchen and used to forge a paring knife so sharp it could slice through solid rock. Gorrma bets Honjya was a total hottie, too.

Additional Notes: Oddities? Well… she eats rocks. And animals she finds. And sticks. And pretty much anything else. That's odd, right?

Name: Scalis Lector

Gender: Male

Age: 6 solar sweeps

Appearance: Wears a black, nondescript t-shirt, a grey tweed jacket with leather elbow patches, and matching tweed pants. Slippers on his feet, because all good librarians wear slippers. Organge hair, tries to keep it cut as short as possible because of its horrible, horrible color. His lusus is terrible at cutting hair, though, so he usually goes around with a scraggly, uneven, orange hairdo. There's a reason he usually wears a Fedora (though it also helps block light, he likes the dark). One horn extends straight upwards, the other is sickle-shaped, forming the TWIN SIGNS OF LEARNING AND WONDER, They're pretty blackened from all the electricity that's flowed through them, though.. His teeth are fairly long and sharp, and you can barely see two fangs in the corners of his mouth when his mouth is closed. He also wears sunglasses at all times, due to aforesaid photosensitivity.

Lusus: An Orang-Utan. Fairly low-maintainance, though he won't budge on the whole 'banana plantation' issue. A veteran Librarian and Archivar; he taught Scalis all he knew.

Trollian Handle: pandorasArchivist.

Blood Color: Orange. Goddamn Orange.

Hive: On a rocky crag, above the sea, surrounded by winds and spray and storms stands a massive, but worn structure. No castle, despite the walls and turrets, no temple, despite its discinct resemblance to the Pantheon. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parthenon_%28Nashville%29). No, this is the hive of yourself, a young troll who reads far too many books and collects everything. It is a place of knowlege, and a place of horror, filled with books (all of them) and artifacts and threats so great that the best way to get rid of them was to lock them in a filing cabinet and quietly forget about them. A visitor could find anything here, wisdom, knowlege, true love, or even the perfect book to read late at night. But while you can find everything here, it is gogdam impossible to find anything specific, so more than likely is that you'd come in looking for the ultimate weapon and end up leaving with half a feather duster and a book filled with discourse about the impact of table manners on the development of Trollkind.
This is the CENTRAL INSTITUTION FOR THE COLLECTING, SORTING AND ANALZING OF TOMES, ARTIFACTS, WEAPONS, CREATURES AND ABSTRACT PHENOMENA. But you just like to call it THE LIBRARCHIVARY.

Strife Specibus: TOMEKIND. More versatile than you'd think.

Fetch Modus: Archive modus. Captchalogued items are archived safely and securely. Getting them back out can be a bitch, though, because the filing system is absolutely fucked.

Title: Keeper of Memory

Dreamself: Derse

Interests: Books and Archives are his duty, of course. In his free time he writes, works on obscure obscure experimentation (mostly to do with books) and explores the POWER OF LIGHTNING.

Also, in regards to Menarker's CS: Most of it seems fine (though the fact that he's 2 years older than most of us and wears a bucket on his head makes him pretty damn creepy), but I'm really not sure about the mind-reading bit. Yes, even if it's just surface thoughts. It doesn't seem thematically necessary, and in interactions with other PCs it'd give a lot of potential for god-moding. Or conflict, at the very least. Not to mention that we've never actually seen into a character's mind in homestuck before. We've seen their reactions, but never their thoughts. That's a good pattern. I really don't think we should break it for the sake of minor mind-reading powers.

Well, originally, it was a "Suggestion" ability where it was like mind control but it could only force someone to accept orders which they felt was "acceptable" or even "favorable". Bard was the one who suggested Surface Thought reading as a acceptable replacement. Main purpose is to assist Sharl with bargining with people (he's a merchant sort of character) and to avoid being cheated, as well as get an idea of what the "client" he's talking to would probably like to trade for. I don't intend for it to be a sort of spider sense or total telepath sort of guy.

If you could think of a viable replacement aside from "being genuinely convincing", then I would consider replacing it like how I replaced the Suggestion ability with Surface Thought Reading.

Name: Vintag Socius

Gender: Female

Age: 6 Solar Sweeps

Appearance:
http://i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff97/The_SSB_Intern/Vintag-1.png
She wears a vest suit and a black bowler hat that her horns go through. The horns are long, slender, and curve like slicked back hair. Two fangs jut out like buck teeth. She's rather small in build and height. Beady eyes.

Lusus: Vintag's Lusus is Vicki Minchilla, the Talking Manchilla! That's like a chinchilla, only mannish. Tall, with spindly limbs and a round body, like an old Disney cartoon. He always wears gloves, but also dons a tophat and cane to perform a SHAMEFUL JIG. Vintag hates that jig. Despite that, she considers him her partner in crime/entertainment/then crime again and they're virtually inseparable.

Trollian Handle: burlesqueBalderdash

Blood Color: Pink, like pepto-bismal.

Hive: Communal Hive, Penthouse.

Strife Specibus: Skillet-Kind. Her first weapon is the Dead Pan, a cooking instrument made from the petrified flesh of a famous troll Lateral Locoshuttle robber. His soul haunts the pan, making its victims feel the chill of death. He hates Vintag's omelletes.

Fetch Modus: Slapstick modus. She accesses items only when it is comically appropriate.

Title: Herald of Silence

Dreamself: Derse

Interests: Vintag enjoys many things that are analoguous to the late 19th, early 20th century Earth styles, but are obviously different because these are trolls. These include penny-farthing, silent movies, and music. She also likes to cook greasy diner food.

Additional Notes: Preferring a life of solitude, Vintag spent most of her childhood preparing for her future profession as a troll historian. One day, as she took inventory of the various artifacts that she collected in her studies, she found a ancient moving picture device and an assortment. Surprisingly, it still functioned.

Vintag went to work uncovering the device's secrets. In this pursuit, a love for film spawned inside her like the metamorphosis of a pathological monster. She was particularly enamoured with the cool, handsome, male trolls like Quadrantino and Thinstashelin. The female trolls depicted in these films however, were, to her disgust, often flighty and hysterical. Vintag grew so obsessed that she chose to forsake her previous career to go on to remake the enterprise with the help of her Lusus.

Meanwhile Rektek is obsessed with order and planning when it comes to creating music. Thus I propose they be the best of friends since they both love to create things that they view as works of art, despite the clashing methods that they use to create said things.

Name: Srynxa Soridi

Gender: Female

Age: 7 solar sweeps

Appearance: Average height, lean. Long, lithe limbs. Almond-shaped eyes with pupils that have a slight vertical enlongation. Black hair at about chin-length, very straight and sleek with bangs that hide her eyes a little. Fairly short horns that emerge from either side of the top of her head and curve slightly inward. Her teeth are standard grade pointy troll teeth with her canines being slightly longer than average. I'll adress her dress (hurr) in additional info.

Lusus: A great feathered serpent. She refers to him as Quezzle. He is quite enormous, although his size is mainly in his length and wingspan. He is covered nose to tail in long white feathers. the only exceptions being a small crest of brilliant multicolored plumes atop his head. He has two pairs of avian wings, one large set and one smaller set. He is quite hostile towards, well, everything mostly, but that doesn't stop him from being an overly doting lusus, sometimes to Srynxa's chagrin. Luckily for her, however, he is not reliant on her to be fed as some Lusii are. Their homeland is full of creatures for him to hunt and eat, and bring back well-meant, putrid leftovers for his favorite and most prized wriggler. He a very limited speaking ability, although this is mainly through mimicry.

Trollian Handle: halcyonCoils. Her typing style reflects the accent sshe picked up from her lussuss.

Blood Color: Dark, murky green.

Hive: A large, cylindrical structure built around the trunk of a great big tree smack dab in the middle of a lush tropical forest. She occupies the hive built around the trunk, while her lusus lives among the branches and foliage of the tree.

Strife Specibus: Dartkind

Fetch Modus: Srynxa is partial to the riddle modus. She loves a good riddle, and the endless stream of them that her modus generates never cease to keep her mind busy. It can be a bit of a pain if she needs something in a hurry, but that doesn't bother her so much.

Title: Priesstessss of Flesh.

Dreamself: Prospit or Derse? Whichever is lacking.

Interests: Srynxa is not at all interested in this wildly popular Flarp nonsense, preferring to spend her active time cleaning the bones of her lusus's surplus kills and reassembling them into macabre sculptures which she decorates her hive with. She is also an accomplished (or at least, she thinks so) assassin, although the only things she's ever assassinated were creatures native to her forest (which, to be fair, are pretty dangerous. But dumb.) Given her somewhat neutral place in the caste system, her views are similarly neutral. She hasn't been exposed to enough of the outside world to obtain a sense of snobbery towards trolls with blood lower than hers, or a sense of reverence for those above her. Although if blood color is something she can use as a barb against a verbal attacker, she will happily do so, simply because of her unwillingness to be bested in an arguement once she feels her limits of patience have been breached.

Additional Notes: Srynxa is, by troll standards, fairly friendly.. when it suits her. She has a coniving streak that presents itself when she feel even slightly wronged, and isn't quick to forgive when she feels her toes have been stepped on, especially when the stepper is someone she isn't already friends with.

She is fairly reclusive, most of her interactions with other trolls being made via Trollian. This is partially due to the fact that her hive is all but inaccessable to the average troll, and also partly due to the fact that her Lusus is rather aggressive to outsiders. But despite her lack of a tangible presence, she is fairly social within her group of comrades.

Despite living in a tropical climate, she constantly dresses as if the weather were that of the middle of fall. She is rarely seen without her grey jacket, and practically never without a striped scarf (matching her blood color, naturally) and a pair of mittens. This is due to the fact that, no matter the temperature, it's simply never warm enough for her and she always seems to be a little chilly. The reason for this is a mystery even to her.

Her sense of humor is relatively sarcastic and dry, and, if she is in a particularly off mood, a little mean. She gets pretty EXCITED about adventures and other such follies though.

Piiiiiiiink? Does that get put at the top of the hemospectrum, even higher than Feferi's Violet, or is it (yet another) mutant color? I'm guessing the latter, but I want to be sure.
I just sort of considered it somewhere between blue and purple, really don't know where to put it. Don't think you can surpass Fef though.

Sure, works for me! Woo. That brings her "Oh hey it's Gorrma. That's cool" list to 2 and her "oh no it's Gorrma; don't make eye contact" list to 4.

It's good to see she'll have a few people to counterbalance the "OH GOG SHE'S COMING! HIDE YOUR POSSESSIONS/PETS/FRIENDS!" count. :D

Although of her two friends, one regenerates limbs and the other creates immaterial and therefore inedible objects, so it makes sense they'd get along with her.

Menarker...
Honestly, I don't think there should be any powers that read or influence minds. The mind-reading is horrible. Even if it's just superficial stuff, it gives him a huge advantage when interacting with anything, even just NPCs, since the amount of information he can receive is massive. Also, me or Bard would have to write up every NPC's thoughts you read, so that'd mean quite a lot of work for us. So this is a definite no.

The 'suggestion' stuff is actually better, I thought... It's less useful when interacting with NPCs, certainly, and the whole 'as long as suggestion is acceptable' thing nerfs it a bit. But using it on PCs still amounts to god-moding, I feel.

Look, just put a line in your bio about how he's a really great negotiator or something like that, and play on that aspect of his personality a bit. Him actually being a good negotiator depends on us playing along, but hey. We all have character aspects that need to be validated by others. We're cooperating on that pretty well.

So just take the simple way. Modify your bio and I'm sure quite a few of us would play along. I certainly would. But don't ask for a power that makes us play along, m'kay?

- Batman
- She-who-eats-everything
- A sex-obsessed merchant
- Captain Ahab, only without any Whale-Kismesis to keep him going (also, oh god is that bestiality?)
- A shotgun-wielding guy with ADD, because that's totally an safe combination
- A quirky, mitten-clad assassin
- Asshat
- The utmilate labirarin
- A technology-obsessed guy with an apparent stockpile of superweapons, cause that's a totally safe combination as well
- A Psychic rock star
- The one-armed guy who makes a science out of shipping
- Female Charlie Chaplin
- An aquatic supernatural investigator
- A completely innocent little artist with absolutely no regard for the painfully obvious stockpile of superweapons she seems to possess. Because that's the safest combination ever.
- Arha
- Possibly fifthfiend? Bard, have you PMed him yet?

Why can't I be both? Actually my plan is to wing it and take it as how I would personally handle that situation if I had that background and capabilities. So it will probably be one or the other depending on the situation.

There will be high tech other than robots, in fact my own gloves are a special design completely separate from my robotics works. They work on a more micro-circuit and nanotechnology level while the robots are mostly miniature hydraulics and such.

With Bard's permission, I've changed my Fetch Modus to Pictionary.

Anyway, thought I'd make a list of all the Prospit and Derse Dreamers so far.

Derse: 6

Prospit: 6

Apparently we're neck and neck. Amsterdam didn't specify a where his dreamself was, he just said to put him in whichever had less. Bard said his PC would be Prospit, I think.

So if we lump Amsterdam in Derse, that'd bring the total up to 7-7. Which leaves Arhra and our sixteenth player, unless I've miscounted and there's someone else yet to post their CS.

^^ Well, I dunno about being the addresse, but god damn if my character, SHARL, doesn't interact with IROPHA on a regular basis. I mean, the guy is a collector of items too with more emphasis on trading/selling while IROPHA has more emphasis on collecting. Clearly, they probably would have a very interesting potentially long-term vendor/client relationship. ^^

Also, Gem, Sharl is not "sex-crazed" but more "inappropriate" and "free-spirited". Taboos and general rules don't really apply to him. :3 The guy doesn't exactly go around wearing a bucket on his head 24/7 (unless Trolls has less/more days/hours in a week?) but just wears it for kicks or when he's bored or wants to annoy people.

Heck, I'll probably do it. ^^

Hey look, is that a character sheet?

Main details it mentions that haven't come up yet are the fact Iro's a good mechanic (all the better to make machines for high speed delivery with) and can set things on fire with her mind.

Name: Iropha Zanges

Gender: Female

Age: 6 solar sweeps

Appearance: Long, somewhat messy black hair. Skinny

Lusus: Gyrojetfalcon

Trollian Handle: hastyExecutor, THE QUIC|< BROWN FO>< JUMPS OvER THE L^ZY >OG! ^LSO SOMETIMES DR^^^WS OUT WOR>S!

Blood Color: Orange

Hive: Lawn Ring on a plateau in a sub-arctic mountainous region.

Strife Specibus: Limbkind.

Fetch Modus: Vector Modus. An item can only be retrieved from the Vector Modus by travelling at the right speed in the right direction. The closest match will be fired out at GREAT SPEED in the event of a miss.

Items of note:
Blackmail Package: WHAT COULD IT BE?
Time Capsule: Something Iro picked up recently. It is dispensing instructions to her at a measured rate so that at the right time and the right place, something will happen.
Broken Rocketbike: Stored at terminal velocity, straight down.

Title: Still deciding

Dreamself: Derse.

Interests: Iro wants to become a DELIVERATOR, delivering goods at GREAT SPEEDS or else. She currently runs an unofficial delivery service to get practice. She hoards things, particularly supplies for her RIDICULOUS ARTS AND CRAFTS and an interconnected web of favours and debts, and enjoys messing around with them, fixing them and making new things out of them. She's a good mechanic and generally prefers making functional things.

Additional Notes: Iro's interests cost her an arm and a leg. Being quite low in the hemospectrum, Iro is psychically susceptible and has a fairly strong form of pyrokinesis. She can shake the molecules of things in a vaguely scientific way to heat them up and make them burst into flames, or she can give them a shove in one direction to launch things at GREAT SPEEDS. She probably uses this ability to operate her fake arm and leg.

Bard The 5th LW

Name: Glissa Vierth

Gender: Female

Age: 6 solar sweeps as of the first post.

Appearance: Stands at a shorter than average height, with the traditional aqua troll’s gills and light gray skin. Her hair is straight and stretches down to her shoulders, with many strands of black blocking out her forehead. When painting she wears an average long blue skirt, black shirt, and a very messy art smock. Behind the assortment of colors, her smock carries a symbol reminescent of a snowflake (http://www.artsncrafts-ideas.com/photos/pochoirs/decoupe_snowflake2.gif). In addition, she also wears a stylish purple beret when painting. Her horns are thin, straight, and stick up, and are shaped rather like a manta's fins.

Lusus: A rare breed known as the SERATED MANTARATOR. It is a manta ray that is almost twice as large as an average car. Ends of its fins, and its features in general, are very sharp and capable of eviscerating anything short of the strong hide of a musclebeast. It takes on the task of patrolling the HIVE, and keeping any danger from entering. There aren't really many dangers. It is very watchful of Glissa, and does not like her leaving to far from the area. It can leave the water and hover around for a short period of time, but not much longer than 10 minutes.

Trollian Handle: Her troll handle is bathorysIllustrator and she types in the elegante ways of the olde.

Blood Color: Her blood is, at least in her opinion, a beautiful shade of purple, naturally placing her above most others on the hemospectrum.

Hive: Glissa's hive is very isolated, being located in the chilling waters in the coldest polar cap of Alternia. It takes the shape of a large and stately manor, with white washed walls and marble pillars. It is very elegant in design and the carpenter drones took quite long time to construct it. Towards the end, they were even thinking of leaving it unfinished.

Strife Specibus: Brushkind

Fetch Modus: Glissa uses the BEAUTY™ MODUS. With this, she must organize items by color next to the one they look prettiest in comparison. Once they are arranged, the modus allows her to remove an item. Its all based upon her opinion so this is rather easy, but if she feels they clash and cannot come to a conclusion, then it is emptied and all items are thrown out of it.

Title: Artisan of Life

Dreamself: Prospit

Interests: Glissa takes a strong interest in art. She has taken strives to move move beyond mediocrity and into excellence. She has many BOWLS OF PAINT lying around the ART STUDIO in the bottom of her hive. It is there she takes the task of painting many portraits, and sometimes just mixing colors for fun. Other forms of art, like ICE SCULPTING, are also a past time of hers. Sometimes, wehn she's bored, she likes to just throw colors around as well.

In addition, she has a very passionate hobby of collecting odd, rare, and expensive ANTIQUES, especially those of the ancient variety. She herself isn’t capable of examining such ruins though. She thinks the exploration would be quite interesting, but it would also be quite dangerous and dirty! She instead barters and trades with the many explorers and diggers of Alternia. She has made a makeshift museum out of her mansion, but she rarely gets guests due to the location. She is blissfully unaware, but a very large amount of the ANTIQUES and RELICS that are within her home are quite dangerous, some bordering on apocalyptic, undoubtedly left behind by neglectful precursors. Her personal favorite and most prized of these is a gargantuan facsimile of a FROG that stands solemnly and astutely outside of her HIVE. This singular ruin had been here ever since she and her custodian had settled down, and it may have indeed been the reason she chose the location in particular. In fact, it is the singular exception to her lack of exploration, as she has gone on trips into the temple.

Additional Notes: Despite the low temperatures of the location around her, Glissa remains blissfully unharmed by the cold. She is simply adapted to handle the freezing temperatures of the Alternian polar caps. How she handles higher temperatures is yet to be seen.
