Anyone catch any of these? I got linkage to

Young Justice: Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWjkT8zd7w8)
Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFGv4esE3bE&feature=related)
Part 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRebiC9rvEc&feature=related)
Part 4 (http://www.youtube.com/user/imcooliesashbun5#p/u/3/baByi__JCs4)
(These are new YJ links, as the older ones had been taken down)

TF: Prime, Ep 1 Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNhwzr3wQnI), part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pj-jA-apo4I)
Ep 2, Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z77nMzLpEgY&feature=related) & Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvg5L0NGVSk&feature=related)
Ep3 Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pi9pfqubJ4), Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTqOVqISaPI)
(Note:Transformers Prime hasn't aired in total just yet. Friday, they put up episodes 1 & 2 of the 5 part episode. Mon & Tue, they replayed them. Wednesday, they'll do part 3. Thursday is Part 4 and... Do I need to spell it out?)

GI Joe Renegades:
Episode 1, Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-92mxxBh4U) - Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngF524zeQ64)
Episode 2, Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLTNHJ07QwM) - Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCAJ0FN3o8o)

These didnt premiere last Friday, but are newish. However, if you check on YouTube, you find more episodes to both of these:

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic
Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tjl8XulH51E), Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZkeLzQv7Mn4&NR=1), Part 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEp7qudNVfo), Part 4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJ-1QaqjwpQ)

Its watchable, but it loses my interest after 5 or so minutes. But I say the same of Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab & Johnny Bravo. So I might not be the best judge.

Avengers: Earth's Mightest Heros:
Ep 1, Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9sqihQZDk0) & Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTE508jrcvU)
Ep 2, Part 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vh_7h0FUWNs) & Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3VwSRjtyv8)
There are a number of more episodes on-line for this one. Plus, there are a few micro-episodes that build up to this one. But this is the first true, full episode. I'll leave it up to you ppl to find other episodes if interested.

Young Justice was pretty fantastic. Never been a GI Joe fan, so I won't be checking out Renegades. As for Transformers, the animayion looks on par with Beast Wars. As much as I love Beast Wars, that's not a good thing. Besides, I'm still a little sore from the loss of TF:A, so I'm a little wary of Prime. I'll check it out later...

Was only able to check out Young Justice. I have to say it's pretty damn awesome so far. Great Animation, characters, an interesting plot, and the premise of being basicly a better, prettier, less animeish, Teen Titans.

Transformers Prime I'll have to check out later. Seeing as my computer has no working sound card.

Green Arrow's(?) sidekick is voiced by Crispin Freeman, I'm pretty sure. I came.

EDIT: Haha, he voices Guardian, too. Awesome.

Also, the "Martian Manhunter's niece" thing is just too ridiculous to me to take seriously.

Fuck YJ, peace.

EDIT: It'd be nice if they hadn't just had a cartoon called Teen Titans cause then they could just call this shit Teen Titans and I could not care about the cartoon version of the shitty-ass comics Teen Titans.

But instead they have to call this Young Justice so that their shitty-ass Teen Titans cartoon could stab me right in the memories.

All I was watching on Hub was Batman Beyond, G.I. Joe Renegades is cool and all but I wish they were hardcore enough to go head with the G.I. Joe Resolute universe, which is even grittier/violent. But I guess they have to be kid friendly.

I totally didn't get to watch Transformers Prime OR Young Justice, it's kind of a horrible situation for me.

It'd pretty much the first thing he's done that I've abjectly hated so congratulations fans you can probably look forward to like twelve or forty or so season of it, plus live-action movies, spinoffs, and it's own comic-book series or three.

They could have gotten away with calling it Teen Titans: (insert secondary title here) if it wasn't for Teen Titan's mixed reputation.

Heck me most of my friends still consider this a new, better Teen Titans.

I totally didn't get to watch Transformers Prime OR Young Justice, it's kind of a horrible situation for me.

I know I didn't link every part of TF: Prime or Young Justice, but if you follow my earlier linkage, you'll find that both are posted in full. I was just too lazy to link it all. I figured most would be able to figure it out.

Young Justice: Part 1
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tsx1uhreWUM), Part 2 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORYnuHgqbkI), Part 3 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQEuI0_RrvI), Part 4 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnP5MLHXBA8)

...

And Fifth, if Young Justice isn't your speed, maybe you might be more into this show:

Yeah, but he dies fairly quickly & I doubt he'll be back anytime soon. He's like Morph of Fox's X-Men. Maybe he'll be back in the 7th season, if they get that far.

I'll grant you that the new My Little Pony isn't entirely unwatchable, and if you liked Powerpuff Girls, you might like this series. I personally didn't care for PPG, and while it doesn't make my eyes bleed, it doesn't hold my attention for more than five minutes.

Also, you should be aware that this show has been on since sometime early October, so there's more episodes available on YouTube. I just linked these 2, because they were the easiest to find.

And if you're looking for animated GIFs of the show, you might want to check on the Allspark (http://www.allspark.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=74610), as there has become something of a following for this show.

....

One other thing, I do know a bit more about the Young Justice show. Kinda. See, I again went to SDCC this year, and I went to the Young Justice panel (well, okay it was the Batman Brave & Bold panel, but they covered Young Justice too).

I only really remember one spoilerish type thing from the discussion, but it is a biggie. It all concerns Aqualad & I think it might be a real biggie. If I could forget it, I might even choose to... Here's the deal, during the panel, it was revealed that this Aqualad is Black Manta's son. They didn't go into it really & I kinda got the feeling that they regretted mentioning it. It was in response to ppl asking to the fate of the regular DC Aqualad, who is apparently in this universe as well.

The only other vague fact I can remember from this panel, is that Robin is the youngest member, but has been at the hero business the longest.

Oh hey look, actual characterization, dialogue other than various degrees of shouting and grunting. Aces, thanks for recommending this cartoon that is pretty much a million times better than Teen Titans Young Justice.

EDIT: I mean if I ever decide I want to watch Generator Rex minus absolutely anything resembling a redeeming feature in Generator Rex, Teen Titans Young Justice is totally the cartoon that I will watch.

Could you two take this outside? I mean, while I enjoy Fifth's sardonic nature, Premmy you're winding him up a bit too much & seem to be taking him a bit too seriously.

Which is always a mistake, IMO.

Anyway, you guys are kinda ruining the whole nature of this thread & having ppl give their reactions to these new shows. Not that there's much of that going on, but I'm an optimist occasionally.

Besides, maybe Fifth is a Marvel guy. I'll try to link some YouTubes of Disney's new Marvel show later.

That being said, the one thing I noticed and sorta interested me about Young Justice was that the Justice League as a whole seem to be a bunch of total dicks and I've never really seen Superman as the kind of guy who would go all "deer in headlights" and make up some lame excuse about villainy and fly away just to abandon what, for all intents and purposes, is his child. Actually, a lot of the very uncomfortable interactions at the end between Superboy and Superman lead me to think that the whole abandonment dynamic they've got going on may be a story driver later on.

Young Justice had some characterization, in that each of the characters seemed like a stereotype or an archetype. Aqualad is the thoughtful one, Robin is a loner, Speedy is hotheaded, etc. It'll probably be like Justice League where after a while they start to focus in on one or two in an episode instead of all of them.

I mean, did the first episode of Justice League have great characterization? Not really, they got together and fought some aliens. And yet it was a great cartoon.

I thought they were mutants/science experiments gone funky. Sure, they had the demon motiff, but that doesn't imply anything.

Magus
12-04-2010, 11:44 PM
Yeah, the first two episodes of Justice League was a two-parter where they fight Martians. This introduces the Martian Manhunter. There really wasn't a lot of characterization made, nor was there a lot of characterization to be made, as most of the public is fairly well aware of what Batman or Superman or Wonderwoman is like. Anything else one could garner from their personalities as delivered via dialogue (Flash is cocky and slightly stupid, for instance).

However they later did stuff with each of the characters in particular episodes which developed them or delved into their past/personalities. Like at least one episode had this villain attach a parasite to each hero which filled their minds with a wondrous fantasy which kept them enthralled, which gave us insight into their deepest desires, which are fairly obvious but were delivered in interesting ways (for example, Batman's fantasy was to see his father beat the shit out of Joe Chill for all eternity in Crime Alley instead of getting shot as a boy, etc.). They did a lot of other stuff like this for individual heroes and focused on one or two.

So I wouldn't knock Young Justice for it's first episode where they are just trying to introduce us to all the characters, who will later be developed in more interesting ways.

Unless Fifth didn't like Justice League, so this opinion wouldn't really be valid (but if he didn't like Justice League, will anything please him?). He could be totally right and they'll never do anything good with Young Justice, of course. But I'd say give it a few more episodes.

EDIT: I am totally unaware if Paul Dini or Bruce Timm or whoever is involved with this new series, though, so there could be some question as to the writers' ability to make the show better.

On another board, ppl speculated that he might be around as Red Arrow. However, from the promotional material I've seen, I don't think he's going to join up any time soon. Instead, I think the arrow carrier for the team will be Artimis (at least I think that's what the girl was called).
