Oh thread limits, you are so very inconvenient! Well, here we are on Discussion Thread three and the game, shockingly, has not died of horrible wasting from a sporadic posting schedule! How wonderful.

Title because timeskips have been central lately. Still estimating the next skip for Saturday.

But before we get to new news, here's some old Player Bios!

Jay Miles (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1060198&postcount=10) (Overcast), does not like the Scots!
Jackson Hall (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1060309&postcount=14) (Dracorion), wishes he was a better wizard.
Dalbhach Nuada (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1060334&postcount=15) (Krylo), sentenced to High School.
Dean William Hunter (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1060335&postcount=16) (krogothwolf), hates love.
Astarte Whitewrap (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1060408&postcount=19) (Armored Bishoujo), made a Mummy by her Mommy.
Sean Castevet (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1061007&postcount=52) (BardTheFifthLightWarrior), has a heart condition.
Johanna Imirsdotter (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1061230&postcount=63) (Arhra), is basically a giant snowcone.
Diana Tear (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1061547&postcount=80) (Steel Shadow), carries a camera everywhere!
Sao Opallios (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1065752&postcount=45) (Riin Whitewind), might be the class rep!
Shinobu Meguro (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1072142&postcount=28) (Girasol of Chaos), does not know what inconspicuous means.
Kohana Akecheta (http://www.nuklearforums.com/showpost.php?p=1086199&postcount=51) (SinrXIII), no shirt, no shoes, all fan service?

Now, new news!

Relationships: Kurt Basan. "Twin of Kain" actually, a friend. He manipulates fire. He's almost identical to Kain except he has red hair and brown eyes. He's an inch shorter than Kain and has a completely different personality.

Neimi. Kain's extremely attractive probation officer who has taken quite the liking to Kain but must remain professional. Her gold blonde hair spills past her alabaster shoulders like springs of honey mead. Her full ample breasts are barely covered by... Wait... Wrong show... She's stacked. And about 5'10" with glasses. Smokin'.

I find these relationship characters acceptable, though I'll be controlling Neimi (she's a Teacher/Parent figure, after all) so we'll probably need to discuss what and who she is in a little more depth. Guessing she's a Witch and Kurt's a Pyrokinetic?

Oh, and since I don't believe I've said this before, in the event of a battle, any character who isn't your main PC will fall under my control if they're involved.

Back to your character, I was thinking a bit about the abilities. Have a vague idea of what each does (since you contacted me before posting this) but I'd just like to check again and get you to clarify them for the rest of the Players.

Abilities: Charge palm strike (lvl 1) Kain delivers a punishing palm strike charged with electricity to any unlucky opponent. It sends a wave of electricity through an opponent’s body. Mildly draining to Kain.

Electricity resistance. Self-explanatory. The reason he didn’t cook like a bird in the chair.

Psionic Shield (lvl 1) : A 6ft by 3ft (roughly 2m by 1m) near invisible shield created by the mind. Effective for a period of time against most physical attacks.

Charge Palm Strike, he could use it with any part of his body, provided it's relatively similar to his hand in size (foot, head, knee, etc), correct? He wears gloves so I imagine it doesn't require skin-to-skin contact. It'll have a slight charge time and will require a second or so of focus (putting that much static electricity in a small area isn't super easy you know) - plus if he gets hit (hard) before he can connect with the electrified body part, the ability will need to be recast. The ability itself isn't hard to use really, but I don't want it to look effortless either.

Electricity Resistance, obviously, allows him to survive being filled with several thousand volts of electricity. But since that (probably) won't be a terribly common occurrence, I'd boost it a little to allow him to resist burns from fire or heat based attacks - though damage that's unrelated to natural burns would still go through. Also, don't try to walk into a burning building - that would end badly. Was that what you had in mind, or were you thinking of a difficult secondary effect here? As it stands, the ability is a tad too narrowly focused for me to call it viable.

Just some clarification on the last ability, Psionic Shield has a max coverage that's around the size of an average door, right? Limit-wise, it'll take a few seconds to expand it to that full size (it has to unfold) and if it happens to get smashed, you character will suffer some (heavy) mental backlash - something directly connected to your brain got smashed! It'll hurt.

Believe that should cover it. Provided you don't have a problem with any of that/I'm right on all my guesses and your repost your character bio so the relationships and the rest are in one post, you're approved.

Just can't post in-game until the Field of Honor.

Does any one else want to ask anything?

Arhra

Wait a second. You can issue a death sentence to a minor?

And this is just bugging me, but how can Kain not have a last name? Did his parents also not have last names?!

Bard The 5th LW

I don't think a death sentence would be issued to a minor. Even if he was 18, it probably wouldn't happen.

Teal Mage
11-28-2010, 12:42 AM
Oh.

After reading Arhra (and Bard's) comments and going back over your character sheet (particularly after giving the stated personality some thought), I'm afraid I need to revise my previous statement.

There's a lot of problems in the Backstory and Personality right now that'll need to looked into, sorry Ironmajesty. I'm afraid approval's still a fair distance away.

You have my IM address, so if you're interested in trying to work it out, I'll still play ball.

SinrXIII

Actually, you -can- issue Adult sentences to a Minor, including the death penalty. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capital_punishment#Juvenile_offenders) It's becoming increasingly rare, and the US -has- raised the cut-off age to 18, but it's still feasible.

Bard The 5th LW
11-28-2010, 12:23 PM
I imagine it would be unbelievably controversial. If he was 18, they might just send him somewhere to get mental help, minor or not.

ironmajesty019
11-28-2010, 12:56 PM
This is ridiculous. With all of the over-the-top and completely unbelievable things going into this rp and it seems unlikely that a minor could recieve the death penalty for his parents being slaughtered? I mean no offense to the GM or anyone involved. It is, however, as Sinr stated possible for a minor to receive the death penalty for harsh enough actions.

The abilities are as stated. You pretty much nailed those on the head. And I'm fine with the relationships too.

Once again, no offense if I came across harsh.

Also, last name is Nova. When I turned in the character sheet I forgot to replace that...

Bard The 5th LW
11-28-2010, 01:37 PM
I guess. A ridiculous and over the top school system is amusing though. An over-the-top legal system is just sort of dark.

Not really my call though. Its up to Teal.

Arhra
11-28-2010, 04:10 PM
It's part of the 'normal unless stated otherwise' assumption.

If you're going to have ridiculous and fantastic elements incorporated into a normal modern day world, you need the normal bits to act like normal bits.

Secondly, what on earth could possibly bad enough/strong enoguh evidence to give a minor a death sentence? Did they find him squatting in the middle of a blood stained room with the parts of his parent's disemboweled corpses strewn around him or something?

IHateMakingNames
11-28-2010, 04:16 PM
He can just not have received the death sentence. Being a kid who got arrested for murdering his parents is plenty of criminal backstory. If you really want the electrocution thing, make it an accident (Or an "accident").

Plus that gets rid of the odd time between not getting killed by a death penalty and still being in jail before the more awkward mistrial. You'd think not getting killed by the electric chair would have raised some flags or something.

Teal Mage

The fact that Kain was sentenced to the Death Penalty, in itself, was not what bothered me. Yes, I felt it was rather unlikely, but considering he was a suspect (at that time, was proven to be the killer) in his parent's murder, I assumed that meant that there was evidence linking him to the scene, and that he had motive to kill them. Thus, while it definitely would have been controversial, I didn't consider the penalty a problem.

I imagine it would be unbelievably controversial. If he was 18, they might just send him somewhere to get mental help, minor or not.

It depends on the severity of the killing itself, I imagine. If the case had been publicized sufficiently, its possible that the Prosecution would have had to push for a Death Penalty to avoid looking soft on Minors. It should also be noted that he wasn't sentenced to Death until he turned 18, which sounds a bit like a legal loophole.

As I understood it, the purpose of the Criminal Backstory was the Electric Chair, since it would make him being a non-human comparatively obvious enough to get a Super Natural Organization (within the Government or elsewhere's) attention. That's the reason he's in Amaranth in the first place, you see.

Perhaps they thought he was an alien when it happened? Either way, the news of the Mistrial would have arrived rather conveniently.

Secondly, what on earth could possibly bad enough/strong enoguh evidence to give a minor a death sentence? Did they find him squatting in the middle of a blood stained room with the parts of his parent's disemboweled corpses strewn around him or something?

Perhaps! But I was willing to handwave what the precise Evidence was, assuming the Investigators could establish both motive and had evidence linking him to the scene.

However, that said, my main issue is the personality stated.

Personality: Very gentle and easy-going. He’s quite passive unless provoked or sticking up for someone (or himself). Kain wants to put his past behind him and move on. He’s trying to live a new life and make up for the time that he is lost. He’s very bright, and quite out-going when comfortable.

He sounds a bit too much like a Good Kid to get a Death Penalty. A suspect perhaps, but unless the Defense was entirely incompetent or the evidence was amazingly damning, I can't see him getting a Death Penalty if he was (what sounds like) a fine upstanding citizen.

I didn't read this section very careful in my initial review, so that mistake is mine. Assumed he was a rather troubled and unbalanced child at the time of the murder, you see. Then it could make sense.

But, that aside momentarily, isn't that kind of personality unlikely for someone who spent two years in Jail? I'd rather not go into detail about what happens to people there, but suffice to say that a passive kid like him would come out rather scarred. Not to mention bitter, violent, angry and a whole host of other justifiable emotions.

In summary, the Personality in this case is very important, and right now, doesn't hold it together.

Players may continue to weigh in if they like. I'll listen to your observations, though I can't promise to change my mind.

Also, Bard, Sean is in prime interview proximity if he doesn't flee sharpish. It may already be to late. You have been warned.

I believe that'll happen sometime after Arhra and Bard reply?

He probably doesn't.

This interview was quite enlightening for me as well because it got me thinking about how I would think of Landry. Personally, I have a teacher who is very much like Landry and I cannot stand him. He has mentioned several times that he has nearly been fired on multiple occasions and I pray for the day it will happen.

I'm working on the Timeskip now.

A week late, but at least it's getting done!

But before I can finish, I still need an Action Submission from Armored Bishoujo (I have nothing right now). Could use a few clarifications from IHateMakingNames and Girasol but I have enough information for the two of them to get by.

Anyway, I'll give you all until Monday to get your Off-Screen Actions in. After that, I'll complete the timeskip and will assume that anything I don't know wasn't important!

Thank you for your patience.

Words, words, words, but the scene's set.

I'd appreciate it if you'd all specify where you are, approximately, on the Field. I know there aren't all that many landmarks, but I think the handful I mentioned at the beginning of the post should be sufficient.

Ah, in case any of you are wondering, Professor Landry told everyone in class about this duel in Homeroom. Every character should know to be here.

Beyond that, there are guards at the base of the only two access points to the Field of Honor. They will not allow any one who isn't part of Shuyin or Landry's class onto the Field of Honor and are very big and muscular looking. Trust me, your NPCs will not be able to fight their ways through.

If you want them in the scene, you can PM me a request to put them in Shuyin's class, or PM me a request to have them try and scale the walls. I do not recommend this for a variety of reasons, however.

A primary one is that all NPCs who appear on the Field of Honor will be under my control for the duration of this scene.

That out of the way, some PCs leveled up over the timeskip (or refined their powers). So! Here are their approved upgrades. I'd like these edited into your sheets, if possible.

I believe Arhra still needs to confirm if he wants to refine Jo's powers or not. He'll need to get back to me on that, but I recommend it. He's got one skill point floating around still.

Character: Jay Miles
Ability: Summon Bat
Element: Black
Level: 2
Effect: Whenever he needs one, Jay will always be able to find a baseball bat. It may fall from a tree, turn up in his bag, or just appear in his hand when no one's looking, but if he needs it, it'll be there. Though it appears to be made of aluminum, it is also nearly unbreakable. The bat can hit attacks without physical compliments - though it does not allow him to detect them.

Character: Jackson Hall
Ability: Gale Fist
Element: Blue
Level: 1
Effect: A refinement of his Wind Manipulation Skill, Gale Fist allows Jackson to send his punches and kicks through the air to hit his foes. Functionally, they're something like wind-balls. Each is as strong as the punch, or kick, used to create it and has the same approximate size. The larger the wind-ball formed, the weaker the damage. If an attack is too complicated - like a tornado kick - it will fizzle out. Overuse can be exhausting.

Character: Dalbhach Nuada
Ability: Glamour
Element: White
Level: 2
Effect: Though his full powers remain sealed, Dal is still able to use powerful illusions on himself. He's able to completely hide his non-human traits from any of a living being's five senses, and pose as a human. He's also obtained the ability to subtly manipulate these illusions, and appear to be different people, or just change its color to allow him to blend in with his surrounding. However, the larger the change, the more time it takes. Making convincing fakes is not simple!

Character: Dalbhach Nuada
Ability: Flight
Element: Yellow
Level: 2
Effect: Though his full powers remain sealed, Dal's managed to weaken the restrictions on his wings. They can be used to allow him to fly, though no faster than he can walk. If used while he's running, Dal's able to substaintially increase his movement speed - though repeative speed bursts will quickly exhaust him.

Character: Diana Tear
Ability: Camera Girl Sense
Element: Black
Level: 2
Effect: A sixth sense that alters Diana whenever something interesting is happening, and weakly compells her to investigate. It also enables her to sense how interesting people are, just by looking at them - although it can only do so in a relative way.

Character: Sao Opallios
Ability: Purify
Element: Yellow
Level: 2
Effect: An ability that allows her to see impurities within liquids, and do something about them. With a touch, Sao is able to purify liquids, returning them to their natural states - the impurities within them are completely destroyed by this power.

Character: Kohana Akecheta
Ability: Kick Boost
Element: Yellow
Level: 1
Effect: Thanks to his supernatural power, Kohana is able to empower his next kick attack with more force than he should be able to. His next attack can send an opponent flying and is strong enough to damage stone. However, the strength boost is extremely draining - he'll be winded immedately after using it.

Just to quickly reiterate player's Aura Colors - I looked over your skills a while back and realized my initial assessments weren't always accurate - here's a corrected list. These changes should be treated as though they were always like that.

Kohana - Green
Andy - Black
Sean - Orange
Jackson - Light Blue
Johana - Green
Dean - Green
Michael - Black
Shin - Orange
Jay - Black
Diana - Black
Astarte - Yellow
Dal - Yellow
Sao - Green

Well, that was a long discussion post. Any questions?

You may still challenge her to a duel on top of Jay's though. :D

Huh, little shocked by those turn of events. Least it beats dancing.

Things'll move a little a little slowly until Girasol's done her final projects, so that's plenty of time for you to get your barings.

I was originally going to make you all dance with Hannah! But then I decided that would be too complicated, and since it also would interfere with her objective, it made sense to have her change her mind.

I almost had to go back and edit my post, but luckily, Steel's addition didn't effect any of the developing scenes.

Make sure you read both though!

Additional comments for this post: There's no real need to add any character bios for these characters, since none of the new ones will add much to the current scene. If you don't know what's going on in the first scene of the post, that's fine, you're not supposed to.

But you will hate Hie by the time this is done. Probably.

Especially Michael.

@Bishoujo, I'd encourage you to have Astrate add comments in between what Gorgeous is saying to her, if you feel she'd have a response to a particular line. Don't need to, but it'll make the scene seem more interesting if you do.

@Overcast, You have several posts to reply to! Shin, Dean, Hannah and (maybe) Diana and Jackson all said stuff to Jay. I expect him to acknowledge at least the first three.

@The rest of you. Michael and Kohana both said stuff.

Talk to each other damnit!

Also to the people who haven't posted yet, post!

Edit: Ah! The Mysterious Shadow.

You haven't met but it is always in the Window watching.

Why hello everyone! I imagine some of you thought I'd forgotten about this and let it die. Haven't, actually, but I've been very busy (still am, actually) this month, and so I haven't really had time to sit down and work up these posts until today. That said, I understand that the erratic posting schedule makes it hard to maintain interest in the game, so, if you no longer feel like participating, feel free to drop out. I really am sorry that I update so slowly.

I will do my best to post once each week, unless I have a paper to write.

As it happens, I know some of you don't care and are enjoying this despite the slow pace, so I'm going to continue as if there wasn't any delay! As I recall, there have been several new characters introduced in this scene, and several have yet to be given bios (also Hannah's is getting an update). So, here ya'll go:

Name: Hannah Iruimi
Gender: Female
Aura: Witch Blue/Black
Appearance: Standing at 5'7, Hannah has shining golden blond hair, glittering green eyes and the figure of a model. She's often seen decked out in designer clothes and subtle - if well applied - make-up. No matter her outfit, Hannah's rarely without her necklace; three slim strands of green-tinted-silver twinned around one another and stylized to look like vines. It seems to carry some significance to her. Apparently, she isn't all glitz and glamour – when fighting, she prefers to wear as few clothes as possible; exchanging much of her designer Waredrobe for formfitting bandages.

Abilities:
Jump Step – A simple ability, Hannah increases her jumping speed and distance with a burst of supernatural energy. Much slower than a Flash Step, Jump Step allows her to attack and react while moving, with a far smaller drain. Similar to Dal's Level 1 Flight ability.

Strength Surge – A common supernatural skill for fighters, Strength Surge allows Hannah to multiple her physical power for a single attack. Getting hit by one of her Strength Surge enhanced attacks really hurts. Oddly enough, she doesn't seem to feel this ability's drain as acutely as many others, implying it to be a highly refined version of the skill.

Flash Step – The Staple Long-Range Instant Movement ability, it increases Hannah's running speed so much that she can cross great distances in the time it takes to blink. However, the speed of this move makes it impossible to react to anything after it triggers, and typically causes momentary disorientation upon reaching the desired destination. She seems very good at dealing with the disorientation, however.

Pain Cancel – The ability to completely shut the nerves off in any part of her body for a few moments, blocking any sensation of discomfort or pain. Very useful, especially when pushing your body hard.

Enhanced Throw – An ability that allows Hannah to infuse her projectiles with Supernatural Energy, increasing their speed, accuracy and power. Anything she throws will fly straight and hit hard. Useful when attacking from awkward positions or using poorly weighted weapons.

Gardening Pegs – Thick stakes of enchanted wood. After making contact with their target, the pegs sprout a mass of abnormally strong vines, which are difficult to break. The vines attempt to entangle and entrap any one near them, unless Hannah wills them otherwise.

Strange Necklace – There is something just plain weird about this thing.

Bio: A third year Student in Amaranth High and a top member in Professor Shuyin's Fanclub, Hannah's a high achieving student with a sharp mind and sharper tongue. She carries herself like a popular girl, and seems to expect the entire school to treat her the same way. For the most part, the other students are happy to respect her wishes.

She's a member of the Archery, Botany and Pottery clubs, and is placed in the Advanced Section of each. Her Martial Arts skills come from training sessions in the Shuyin Fanclub – Professor Shuyin himself instructed her.

Name: Alpha and Zeta Royce
Gender: Male and Male
Aura: Blue and Blue-Green
Appearance: Despite subtle differences in facial structure, Alpha and Zeta are, very obviously, twins. Both stand just over six feet, have neatly trimmed, curly, red-gold hair and bright orange eyes. Typically seen wearing baggy cargo pants, loose tee-shirts and a pair of sunglasses, both youths are heavily muscled and broad in shoulders and chest. Their skin is a dusty olive color.

Abilities:
Tough – As demonstrated by this fight, both Zet and Al can take a lot of punishment. It takes a lot to make them scream, though, as Shin showed us this post, they aren't impervious to pain – it just takes a lot to make them scream. Possibly a supernatural ability.

Strong – With bodies like that, it really shouldn't come as a shock that Al and Zet can hit hard. Zet has demonstrated an ability to punch through solid wood, however, implying that there may be something supernatural about their strength. Knowing Hannah, there probably is.

Not Human – Orange eyes and brown blood? Come on, if you think these guys are human, Hannah has a bridge to sell you. Also, their skin tone isn't exactly normal either. It almost looks like baked clay!

Bio: Al and Zet showed up in Amaranth during the summer between Hannah's first and second year of school, and hang been around ever since. Though rarely outside of her company, both boys are occasionally noticed volunteering in various clubs – Al seems to like the Art and Drama clubs, while Zet prefers Fitness groups. Neither are technically enrolled in the school.

Name: Gorgeous Bonholm
Gender: Male
Aura: Black
Appearance: Standing just shy of six feet, Gorgeous is a handsome and fair skinned blond man with clear blue eyes. An athletic young man, Gorgeous is broad shouldered and impressively muscular, with no qualms about showing off. Gorgeous has a pension for expensive, slightly formal, clothing and seems to favour button-up shirts and darker jeans. He almost always looks elegant and seems to be in his late teens/early twenties.

Abilities:
Buff – With a physic rivalling Hannah's bodyguards, Gorgeous looks like he could really go some damage if he got mad enough. Some have wondered how he could possibly maintain his appearance - he doesn't work out that much. Regardless, his body's just another reason he's as popular with girls as he is.

Naive – For some so sexy, Gorgeous is pretty dense. Most noticeably, despite hanging out with Astarte, Linda and Vanilla, he has no idea that the supernatural exists. Beyond that, he's hopelessly attached to ideas about fairytale romances; he seems to think of Astarte as his Princess from a story, and is entirely blind to her own hesitation in his regard.

Bio: Gorgeous thinks of himself as Astarte's unofficial boyfriend. He's part of Astarte's small cadre of friends and serves as the Token Male. Like Astarte herself, Gorgeous is a First Year Student. Perhaps because he wants to show off for her, he volunteered to be a model for the school's Art Club. Gorgeous is in Professor Shuyin's Class, and is also on several of the school's sport teams, but his favourite thing to do is dance.

Name: Vanilla Strauss
Gender: Female
Aura: Yellow
Appearance: With the body of a supermodel, Vanilla is a slim and extremely pretty fair-skinned brown eyed blond girl, who stands at 5'4. Well endowed both in the chest and the hips, Vanilla's not shy about showing off her body, and has a preference for clothes that bare as much as possible – without being entirely indecent. She favours high-heels, despite not being the most coordinated thing on two legs.

Abilities:
Contortionist – Perhaps because of all her cheerleader training, Vanilla is extremely dexterous and flexible. Sometimes, it almost seems like she doesn't have bones - arms aren't supposed to bend that way! She's probably just double jointed, but any one who can pull off the moves she can has to have some kind of talent.

Martial Accident – Despite carrying herself with the self-assurance of someone who can take anything the world dishes out, Vanilla is hopelessly clumsy. The girl trips over her own feet at least once every hour, and still insists on wearing high heels!

Bio: A member of Amaranth's Cheer Leading Team and part of Astarte's gang, Vanilla is a self-described Bombshell - and likes to dress the part. She met Astarte over the Summer, and have since become good friends. Vanilla's experience with the supernatural is greater than her friends, and she's been trained to handle herself in a fight. However, combat isn't really her inclination; she'd rather hide behind her looks than get her hands dirty.

Name: Marisa Grimaldi
Gender: Female
Aura:
Appearance: Standing at 6'2, with suntanned skinned and lithly built, Marisa stands out in a crowd, mostly because of her height. For whatever reason, she rarely leaves home without a hat of some kind over her short blond curls, and has lately begun to favour berets. Typically seen in elegant dresses of bright colors and with subtle make-up, people are often surprised to hear that she's one of the student teachers in charge of the Advanced Computer Clubs. Despite all this, Marisa considers herself a wallflower; likely because of her soft spoken nature.

Abilities:
Tech Savvy – Remarkably skilled with computers, Marisa has extensive knowledge of both the hardware involved and the programs contained within. Quick to master virtually any form of technology she encounters, some have speculated that she may be a magician of some kind; her ability to fluently write and translate both binary and more common code doesn't hurt her case. However, despite such praise, Marisa insists that nothing she does is that difficult to replicate.

Technobabbler – Despite being, what some call, a Genius, Marisa has trouble talking to people. The least of these reasons is her soft voice; Marisa has trouble translating her speech into layman terms, and seems mystified when others don't understand her. She often seems to space out as well, leaving most casual acquaintances to thinking there is something not-quite-right about her.

Mistress of Manners – One of Professor Shuyin's alumni, Marisa left Amaranth for a short period of time to complete her education, before returning to work for the school. Her training under Professor Shuyin is said to be the source of her fashion sense, not to mention her manners. When she remembers them, people say that she is far more pleasant to be around than even Professor Shuyin.

Bio: One of Amaranth's vaulted Alumni, Marisa returned to the school only a handful of years after leaving it. Currently, she serves as the assistant director of the Computer Club, but is kept working with the Advanced Student – the new ones often are entirely unable to understand her.

Name: Hie Mica
Gender: Female
Aura: Pale Blue
Appearance: Hie is shorter than her cousin, lithe, acrobatic and sports short, sandy-colored hair. A bandana, dark blue with white patterns to mirror Kohana's is jammed on her head, to her obvious discomfort. Underneath the bandana are wide, tan ears, tipped in black. A white, loosely wrapped knee-length skirt barely hides her black-tipped tail, with a sleeveless, tied shirt completing the outfit. Should the situation call for shoes (which, in Hie's opinion, is never), she owns a set of tan sandals. From a dark blue belt with white patterning hangs two sheathes, one for a short utility knife, the other carrying a longer, wide-bladed knife. In polite company, the blades are hidden away.

Abilities:
Theft! – Hie's favoured Supernatural Ability, it allows her to identify those with summoning abilities, and activate them herself, stealing their summoned objects for her own use, and preventing their proper owners from recalling them for a time. If her target is someone with a summoned creature, on the other hand, it will call the creature out beside her. Since summoned creatures are usually fiercely loyal to their proper owner, this often ends with Hie running away, as quickly as she can. But the risk is so very fun!

Knife Nut – Though forbidden from carrying her blades on school grounds, openly, at least. Hie is quite skilled with her knives. If she thinks she's going to need them, she'll find a way to smuggle them onto her person. As the vessel of the Trickster God, the civilized world is no match for her when she puts her mind to something! But it is so very fun to watch them try!

Acrobat – Her build isn't for show, Hie is very quick, lithe, coordinated and dexterous. Even without her knives, she is quite a formidable enemy in combat, and enjoys frustrating her opponents with her speed. She has some training in kickboxing too – mostly because it lets her compete with Kohana.

Bio: The cousin of Kohana Akecheta, Hie enrolled in Amaranth shortly after he did - though her means of doing so aren't entirely clear. It is possible that the village Elder sent her there for reasons similar to Kohana or that she simply followed him, and somehow got approval from the Principal to join. Either way, Hie has quickly discovered that her quest to mess with her cousin is less glamorous then she'd like. The rules of the civilized world chaff at her, and at every opportunity, she flaunts her supernatural abilities. Among others, she is in the Kickboxing Club, and on the soccer team.

Name: Selena Brooks
Gender: Female
Aura: ??????
Appearance: Standing at 5'7 with a build typical of a woman entering her third year of life, Selena is an attractive woman, though often seems pale in comparison to some of the beauties around the school. Favouring conservative clothes and jeans, some consider her a more realistic alternative to the supermodels that seem to infest the academy. She only seems to wear make-up for special occasions and rarely is seen with anything beyond her lion pendant in the way of jewellery.

Abilities:
Referee – Right now, Selena's playing the part of a referee. Fear her red cards!

Lion Rampant – An expensive looking pendant, emblazoned with the royal crest of the Scottish royal family. It's possible that she has some ties to that line, but rather unlikely. Probably just a trinket.

Friend to All Living Things – As the facility member in charge of both the school's Botany club, and the Co-Director of the Veterinary Club with her twin brother, Ms. Brookes certainly has experience in dealing with living things. She really is quite fond of animals and plants; a fondness that extends to most of her students as well.

Bio: A member of Amaranth's facility, and in charge of two of the school's most demanding clubs, Selena is well respected even in normal academic circles. A licensed Veterinarian, Selena also handles clients from the city. Her twin brother is also employed in the school, and Co-Directs the Veterinary Club with her. Having turned down offers for University positions, it seems that Selena is content with her lot in life.

Comments on the last post: Each scene is written from the PoV of the PCs involved in it. Aura colors mentioned are what those PCs (or NPCs) can see – other characters may see the colors differently. Jay's aura, for instance, is only Yellow-Green to Jack, Shin, Dean and Astarte. All the other PCs see it as Black still.

In any event, this Arc will be drawing to its climax in the next handful of posts. Hopefully it'll still be as fun for you as it is for me. Moreso, even!

And unupdated, but still useful. The map, as of two GM posts ago:

I've been forgetting to put this up for some time. After talking with Teal, I've tweaked Jo's ability set. Phrasing might need a little tightening up.

Living Ice - Given a source of snow or ice, Jo can shape, harden or soften it, or even make it grow. As her body is made of snow and ice, she can use herself as a source and make use of this ability to change her appearance.

Snow Clone - Jo can create and animate statues of ice, transforming them to take on the appeance of a real person. They remain vulnerable to heat and breaking the surface reveals the truth. They cease to function if seriously damaged, quickly melting and evaporating to nothing. Jo can make up to two fully autonomous clones or a larger number of simple clones that require her concentration for complex actions. Jo is aware of what her clones are doing. Copies of her are identical, copies of people she knows well are high quality and imitations of people she barely knows are average at best. If she rushes making clones, they're lower quality. Her body is essentially a much more advanced version of this technique.

Atrocious Frost Transformation - Jo can partially transform her body into ice. Transformed parts can move and make sudden bursts of further change, such as converting a hand into foot long icy talons. She typically uses it on her hands or her hair. She can currently convert approximately one arm (or two forearms). The transformation is slow enough that she'd need to deliberately feint with it to do something like twist around a parry.

Ugh, despite my intention of getting that up before the three week mark, I seem to have failed!

Oh well, at least its up. Not many comments to make here. I suppose I did abuse the relative silence of Dal, Kohana, Sao and Diana here - though I felt I needed to do something to encourage action. Strangely, all these things are very vicious!

Updated Map:

I do hope that I gave everyone something to reply to, this time around.

@Arhra's post, yep, all up and approved.

Sh-she was serious?

I was totally going to have Sean say "Do it" until this line.

edit: and look at that he did it anyways.

Its like, Gorgeous, Adeline, and Jack against a single snake lady. Astarte can also handle herself. Sean's presence would be frivolous and likely just impair the progress of the rest of you.

I have no idea which way Jay just hit. But if my gauge of his power is right everyone is about to see a massive mound of muscle flying through the air right about now.

If Hannah wasn't pissed before she is going to be beyond herself right now.

Normally I wouldn't point this sort of thing out, but I feel compelled to mention that Vanilla probably isn't a threat right now!

You see, she got blasted by Sao's new-and-mysterious Acid-Light spell, and then struck over the head with a ice-club-hand, courtesy of Jo. The long and short of it is, without going into the rather horrifying and disfiguring effects of getting a vat of acid thrown on her, she's probably not getting up for the rest of the fight! Possibly not ever! She's lying very still on the ground. Facedown, of course. No one wants to see what that mysterious Acid-Light did to her skin, after all.

It's rather fortunate that Jo knocked her out actually, otherwise she'd be screaming.

So, Bishoujo, if you want to edit? I'll start working on a new reply after I hear from Dracorion and Krogoth - or this weekend, whichever comes first - if you need a timeframe.

Would be great if you'd post in the Discussion thread, one way or another though, so I know if I should add you name to my 'people to wait for' list.

Right, this post was longer than I would have liked, but transition ones are never quick. Its spread over two threads, so I hope it reads okay. Either way, update's up - there's good news and bad news here!

Good News: Your powersets are all back to normal.

Bad News: Things just got a lot weirder, and the real battle begins here. Things dragged more than I would have liked getting this far, but I hope you're having a good time.

Worse News: None of you have had your energy restored by the scene change. This is particularly problematic for Shin and Jack, who both pushed themselves to their limits in the pervious posts - you should both be struggling to use your simple moves right now. In Shin's case, that means maintaining her Human Illusion, and Jack's case, that means a Gale Punch will be really hard for him to manage. It should go without saying that neither can manage a Flash Move or Strength Surge right now.

Better hope your teammates will pick up the slack!

Anyway, my last posts were pretty complicated, so here's a map-visual aide. I hope it helps clear some things up - tried to keep the number of happenings this post down to a smaller number then were originally scheduled to give you all a chance to get your bearings, slightly. Consequently, Adeline and Michael are listed on the map, but I omitted their current actions from the post.

Edit: Lighter brown sections are higher levels. White Squares are entrances and exits to different levels.

http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/dd116/Tealmage_photos/MadnessWorld-2.jpg

Bits of information that will be needed to function immediately:

Strange Purple Void - The walls that surrounded the Field of Honor are gone now. There's nothing to stop you from falling off the edge, into what appears to be an endless abyss into space. However, Michael and Not! Gaga are both levitating over said abyss, there may be a trick to navigating it. Still, I wouldn't tempt fate without reason, if I were you kiddies. I'm not afraid to give out game-overs, though I'd like to avoid that in the first level.

Madness World Limits - The blue circle represents the range of Hie's strange new ambient ability, Madness World. If your character has a summoned creature that's active, or their summon weapon is out when they step into it, make sure you don't go too far into your post. The Madness World affects Summoned Objects and Creatures (usually involves making them attack you). Visually, the Madness World is just a faint haze of white-blue supernatural mist.

Firewalls - Described as crimson barriers, these walls seem to come from the Masked Sorceress. They are highly dangerous - if you desire to test how dangerous, don't make any assumptions about your character being able to touch it without dying.

Summoned Worms -I'll fill more information for these when I write up the formal enemy bio for the Masked Sorceress, but suffice to say, their acidic discharge will eat through anything. There are a handful of exceptions to this (Jay's Bat and Astarte's Bandages, for instance), but abilities like Sao's Meltwater won't save you from the acid. Their teeth have a similar property. Whatever's touched is actually deleted, as if its a piece of a computer program, not dissolved, if it matters. The comments about stone being eaten away without steam in my post are meant to imply this.

Diana's Camera - The post doesn't specify, but its vanished. In its place, a slightly bulky black-box has appeared on Diana's arm, with a screen on it. This automatically records everything around her from the third-person perspective. Functionally, it allows her to use her General Mary-Sue Refering Buff for the entirety of their battle. Steel's at liberty to decide how Diana treats this disappearance and reappearance, as usual.

Dracorion - You were trying to get too much out of Blur Move. The ability doesn't give you super speed, if gives Jack the ability to move very quickly for a single action, at best. If you were fresh as a daisy at level 1, if could give you a maximum of three rapid actions, but only if you were fresh. This same principle applies to all Surge Skills and Instant Movements, for future reference. Surges, in particular, are designed to augment an existing action, not to allow you to create new ones.

Costume Changes! Are required. You're free to throw your own twists on whatever formal wear your character has - preferably so that it references their cultural and racial background, in addition to their personality. I am going to require that all characters conform to typical gender streotypes (no tuxs allowed girls, sorry), and that the outfits are all vaguely contemporary in inspiration. So, no Ancient Egyptian clothes, though they may reference these, for instance.

Here's a list of the further requirements I have for you here! Yes, the costumes are significant.

Jay: Western-Style Male Formal Wear.
Jack: Western-Style Male Formal Wear.
Dal: Western-Style Male Formal Wear.
Dean: Western-Style Male Formal Wear - possibly something Eastern, as he's in the Anime Club (I think), but I'd prefer Western for him.
Sao: Western-Style Formal Dress/Gown.
Astarte: I think she identifies most with Western-Fashion, so Western-Style Formal Dress/Gown. If this isn't correct, please PM me.
Sean: Eastern or Western Male Formal Wear, your call.
Johanna: Western-Style Formal Dress/Gown.
Shin: Gets a Kimono. We've discussed this already!
Diana: Probably a Western Prom-Dress, but she does like Anime enough that I'd be willing to let her pick something Eastern.

Individualized PMs will be sent out either tonight or tomorrow. Placing them in order of priority right now.

Edit: Sorry about any typoes, will try to catch them tomorrow.

Sorry everyone, I had a lot of crappy stuff happen these past few weeks, sick wife and baby, grandpa in the hospital due to mild heart attack, followed by grandma falling and doing serious harm to herself while she was alone trying to do to much.

I'll try to get back into it this week when my brain isn't so out of it. Really sorry everyone.

Drac responded via PM. The gist of it was, "Jack does nothing and freaks out quietly." You should thank him by getting him out of the way of those mysterious green energy balls!

@Diana, I have good news! The Dragon-Sword is a sword again; its no longer within Hie's Madness World Limits. Good job! You effectively defeated an enemy, just keep Hie from resummoning it, or moving forward enough to reanimate the weapon and that's one less thing to worry about!

And, for an added bonus, here's some short (incomplete) energy bios for your reference in reacting to my attacks. Assuming you don't all just dodge that is! :D This information is all given in good faith that you won't use it to Meta-Game - if I sense any of that, I'll be even more conservative in what information I release in the future.

Enemy Character Information:

Name: Robot Ninja Butlers
Threat Level: Low
Bio: Formerly the orchestra that accompanied the Fake!Gaga, the Robots seem to have mysteriously acquired the skills of very polite Ninja! They're really not designed for battle, but are pretty quick on their feet. Can be annoying in large numbers, but aren't terribly threatening on their own - they're actually quite fragile! But their knives are pretty sharp - it might be best to break them before they use their Ninja Arts.

Robot Punch! - Despite their Ninja Training, the Robot-Ninja Butlers can barely bruise an apple. Their physical attacks are laughable - normally - and are more likely to hurt them than their opponents.

Ninja Art: Precision Silverware Attack - With deadly accuracy and surprising force, the Robot Ninjas hurl knives, forks and spoons at their foes. Where they get the silverware, no one knows! But they always seem to have more. Given their poor physical strength, it is likely that these attacks involve their supernatural energy - they're far to weak to throw spoons with enough force to leave serious bruises, normally.

Ninja Art: Broken China! - An attack that conjures countless fragments of Bone China, each sharpened like swords. A sudden gale blows them forward, in the direction of whatever the Robot Ninja targets. Though painful, the spell is rarely rarely fatal, it usually just leaves the victim covered in shallow cuts and bruises. Similar to Sean's Blizzard Spell.

Ninja Art: Tea Bomb! - Conjures a levitating pot of steaming green tea. The Robot Ninja then flings the Tea Pot towards a target - and when it hits something, it explodes in a large sphere of scalding hot water. About five people could fit, back-to-back, inside the sphere. Getting caught in it hurts, but isn't likely to kill you. Just horribly burn you for life. =D

Ninja Art: Saucer Defense! - Conjures a small saucer made of bone china to block an attack. When shattered, the saucer releases a wave of kinetic force cancelling energy, effectively arresting the motion of whatever attack breaks it. Not a perfect defense - but often effective. The saucer can leviate, and be directed by the Robot Ninja.

Ninja Art: Chi Shock! - Lacking the Life Energy that normally goes into this ability, the Robot Ninjas leak electricity from their batteries, electricifying their limbs. Coming into direct contact with any part of their body, while electrified, will cause a powerful, painful shock. Their physical attacks can actually hurt while this skill is active! Can be combined with their steak knvies, or thrown silverware to increase the damage. Overuse will cause them to powerdown. Any form of metal conducts the electricity - so be careful when parrying or blocking their weapons.

Notes:
Extremely light and easy to damage.
Some of them appear to have more of a gender than others.
Most the Robots do not have access to more than two Ninja Arts.

Name: Puma
Threat Level: High
Bio: Michael's summon, empowered by the 'Madness Curse' (the Blackness) which seems responsible for this mess. It does not seem happy with you, for some reason. Can draw on all of Michael's powers, and seems to be able to use some tricks of its own - combined with its natural Mountain Lion skills, that makes for a dangerous enemy. Good luck! Seems to be acting independantly.

Puma! - The Puma is, like most other Pumas, a mountain lion. Hunters by nature, mountain lions are quick, silent, graceful, deadly and powerful, with mouths filled with razor sharp teeth, and claws that can easily tear a human up.

Energy Ball - A refinement of Michael's Summon: Tennis Ball, this ability enables the Puma to fire balls of lime-green energy from its mouth. These spheres carry the physical force of a strong serve in tennis, and explode on contact with living creatures (or any clothes they happen to be wearing), releasing a stronger burst of kinetic energy, which is usually enough to knock someone from their feet. The sphere will bounce off non-living creatures (like Astarte) or structures, leaving bruises at the worst. This ability is moderately draining - over use will tire the user out.

Illusion: Concrete Jungle - An illusionary technique that generates pieces of buildings, like walls, pillars, stairs and other structural pieces, usually from light grey stone. Strictly visual, these structures overlay whatever the enviroment is and are often used to confuse opponents - the puma uses the illusions to strike unexpectedly. Most often used to form walls - which remain until willingly dispelled, or destroyed through a relevant ability.

Notes:
May have other powers.

Name: Masked Sorceress
Threat Level: High
Bio: A mysterious magic user. She appeared when the Field of Honor was swallowed in Darkness - judging by her blond hair, she's probably Marisa Grimaldi, or maybe Vanilla Strauss. Presently, little is known about her.

Generate: Viral Worms - A ability that creates worms made of ball-like segments, that come to most people's waists in height. They have large gaping mouths, from which an acid-like substaince drips, and act independantly of the Sorceress' commands, though they do require her initial direction. The acid from their mouths may be spit in powerful jets, and deletes whatever it touches, as if it was made of computer code; their bites serve a similar function. The Masked Sorceress can generate five of them at once, though anything above three is tiring. Enchanted objects resist the creature's deletion powers. There's no limitation to the number that can be made - they're being created, not summoned.

Fire Wall - Creates a crimson barrier before the Sorceress, designed to keep abnormal programs out. The barrier gives off little heat, but completely destroys any supernatural structure that passes through it, as if deleting a piece of code. Humans feel varying degrees of discomfort and resistance upon touching this barrier, but are more-or-less able to move freely through it. Normally, the barrier is around eight feet high and five feet long.

Notes:
Likely possesses other powers.
She seems connected to the scarlet wall that rings the central structure of the Field of Honour.
Somehow, she is able to determine the race of her opponents at a glance. Possibly an Eye-Based ability.

Name: White Snake
Threat Level: Moderate
Bio: Vanilla's summoned trident, given life by the Coyote Spirit and transformed into an white and gold scaled snake. Actually made of enchanted ivory, animated to allow movement and independant thought, the snake is closer to a construct than a magical creature. Its teeth are viciously sharp, and a spike caps the tip of its tail. The full length of this creature is, more or less, half the height of an average human, but it has trouble extending itself above knee height - due to its body structure.

Enchanted Body - Despite being made of bone, this snake is extremely flexible and squishy - closer to rubber than any other substance. Most blunt damage will simply bounce off, but cutting and piercing damage will be very effective. It may also be ripped apart, with relative ease. Vulnerable to the extremes of temperature, but entirely immune to liquid based attacks, including acid. Also capable of spring-like movement.

Snake Spikes - Created from a trident, this snake has kept the sharp spikes that once composed its tip. Two are found in its mouth, as blue fangs, while one spike exists on the tip of its tail, which is arrow shaped, and also blue. The tail spike is also edged, and may be used for slashing and piercing. Attacks are usually quick and fluid - but thankfully, there's no poison involved.

It turns out Arhra has some assignments to work on, so I'm going to hold my post back until Wednesday, so he can get something up.

I've got most of the scenes written, with the exception of his and Krylo's, mostly because I'm slightly uncomfortable GMing Jo in her present circumstance. Normally, I'd have her just put-the-breaks on her charge, now that the Sorceress's firewall's in the way and most people aren't suicidal enough to charge into a apparently-deadly energy-field. In ordinary circumstances, at least.

That said, this battle's not normal.

A lot of what'll happen if Jo tries her luck with the barrier depends on how she does it, and on how Arhra words it. With that in mind, I'm very hesitant to simply skip his turn this time around. However, in the interests of keeping things moving, I'm still putting a deadline on this (seventy-two hours from now, more-or-less). I'd, of course, prefer that Arhra (not to mention Sinr and Krylo) get their posts up before then.

Anyway, just letting you all know.

Oh, and in the event no one else posts in the discussion before Wednesday, I'll be editing an updated map into this post.

Ok, so I was on the bus the other day, rather bored, and I had my notepad and a pen. The result?

Omakes!

1: Yes, it is that bad

Hie was bored. She had always been an energetic girl, even before joining with the coyote spirit, which had only made her worse. She'd followed her cousin to Amaranth because he was the most fun of all her realtives, but right now he was busy training for something or other, and had warned her to go away with his super serious 'don't push me' voice. Not that she was afraid of him, but he could be so moody when she interupted his personal time...

So she was bored. But she had a plan! She'd met people while she was here, fun people! And she knew one of them lived near here. That girl with the camera and the fancy kicks! Hie already had her scent. So what if it was early morning? That just meant she had the element of surprise!

It was these thoughts that quickly led to Hie sneaking in through a Dorm window and jumping on Diana's bed with a four legged pounce and a yell of "Helloooo!" An epic struggle began!

The light flicked on.

"What are you doing to my room-mate's bed?" A rather unimpressed sounding voice asked.

Hie looked up, pausing in her gnawing of the bed sheets, and realising for the first time that the bed was empty. Standing a few paces away next to the lightswitch was a blond girl in her pjamas. As her voice was indicated, she looked less than pleased. She didn't seem exactly shocked though, either.

The wolf girl spat out a mouthful of pillow. "Um. Where's the Redhead?"

"Di?" Sarah (for it was she!) rolled her eyes and checked the clock on the nightstand. "Around about now? Wait for it."

Hie blinked at the mysterious response, then noticed a new sound filling the room. Falling water? Wait, why was the other girl fiddling with her ears?

The answer became all to readily apparent.

"IIIIiii'm wAlKiiin oN SuuuUUUnshiiiinEEE! WaaaaaAAAAOOOHHHooooOAOHOHO! I'M WAAALLLLLKing On SuuuuunnnShIIIINNNe! Waaaahhhhwahahohahoahhehha!!!!"

The catastophic noise hit Hie like a blastwave. What the hell was that?! What terrible crime against nature was being commited to produce that sound? There was nothing natural in the world that could produce something so monsterous!

Sarah, used to this and wearing ear plugs, sighed. "She does this every morning." Why had she been cursed with a room-mate that had to sing in the shower? Why?

Hie was in no state to hear her though. Her ears were far more sensitive than a normal humans, and the bandana she wore offerend no protection at all. Desperatly, she looked for escape.

Sarah watched impassively as the intruder gave a strangled cry and leapt out of the (fortunatly open) window. "Wish I'd thought of that," she muttered, closing the window and heading to the kitchen for breakfast.

2:

Sao and Adeline may not have been the best of friends (a fact not helped by the general opinion of the class that the two were bitter rivals in everything) but there were still some events that would make them work together. Such an occasion came along one sunny morning as the two enetered Amaranth to attend Proffesor Landry's class, and noticed something odd around campus.

It was Adeline who found Sao first. "Sao! What is the meaning of this?!?" she cried, storming up to the udine and waving a blue pamphlet under her nose. It read "Sao for class Prz!!" with various pictures of Sao looking proffesional, studying in class, and tinkering with a fountain. "Big on cleaning out corruption in the system!" a subtitle read.

The girl in question raised an eyebrow. "I was going to ask you the same thing," she said, raising a second pamphlet, this one green, and waving it under her Rival(?)s nose. "Adeline Fletcher for class president!" This one was also covered in photos, though these were of Adeline striking bold poses and hanging around some trees. 'Tending to the sappling of tomorrow' read the caption.

"Wh-What?" Adeline spluttered, grabbing the pamphlet and staring at it. "I didn't make this!"

"And I didn't make the other one, either," Sao noted, glaring at the piece of paper.

"Ugh. These things are all over the school! If it wasn't you or me, then who would do something... like..." Adeline trailed off as she and sao shared a thought. Of course, there was always that person...

As one, the pair looked up... straight into a camera lense. There, dangling by her legs in the tree above them, was the Prime Suspect.

"Aw, guys, don't look directly into the camera! That's filming 101! Everyone knows that! Just act natural!"

The girls eyes narrowed. "Diana, did you make these?"

"No. I got Billy to make them for me," the camera girl answered without a hint of shame. She was aparently unbothered by being upside down.

"WHY?!?" both potential presidents asked, glaring all the while.

"The viewers on my blog said the class elections weren't exciting enough! We needed to ramp it up in order to make it all more watchable! Leaflets to drum up interest and draw up party lines, political ads for both groups to slam each other, the live debates tomorow to show off your skills..."

"Wait, live debates?"

"Tomorrow?"

"Well yeah, gotta strike while the iron is hot guys!" Diana explained, waving her free arm about. "Didn't you get the memo?" She paused as they slowly shook their heads. "Oh. Um. Did I remember to tell you guys about any of this?" More head shaking. "...I forgot to ask permision again, didn't I? Nerts, I knew I was forgetting something."

Adeline rolled her eyes and whistled loudly. The tree branches suddenly started to rustle as dozens of squirells poped their heads up. She pointed at Di. "Get her down."

Ignoring Diana's paniced 'Eep!'s as the critters attacked, Sao looked at Adeline. "You have a squirell army?"

Adeline shrugged. "The author's just guessing until Teal Mage gets around to properly revealing my abilities, so I might as well use them while I have 'em."

I'm afraid Teal will not be posting tonight. Or ever again. You see, I was discussing this very issue with him not 5 minuets ago, and this thread came up. His words?

You didn't sacrifice enough cows, so now I'm taking the interest out of your character's blood banks!

...

Yeah, this is definitely the highest level of attrition in this battle to date. You are all making progress, however.

Although I should tell Arhra that his effort was rather...misguided, in retrospect. Jo'll be fine if she gets enough time to rest, but, for now, the original is rather, erm, preoccupied bleeding. Still, her clones can still function normally. One of them is now in the scene with Diana and Kohana in fact!

Jotun blood is actually magically colored water. Always perfectly chilled, and in a strange translucent shade of red.

But, its up, hopefully its passible enough that you won't like, burn me at the stake. May go back and edit it over the course of the evening and tomorrow, for clarity, but I probably won't have time for that. Have an essay due soon, and I really shouldn't keep putting it off for this.

This week's update has been cancelled because I'm writing an Essay.

I probably won't be updating until after June 14th, so everyone can take their time in their next replies. Treat this as a hiatus! Take a break and stuff. Normal weekly posting will be restored after the 14th and shouldn't be interrupted until the Fall Semester begins in September. In the meantime, are there any questions about what's going on?

Was hoping to post today, but, I feel sick right now!

So, it'll be done tomorrow.

But, yes, this game is still going, provided interest remains (as I understand, it does!) so, try to be patient for another day. I don't know when the next update (as in, the one following tomorrow's) will be, unfortunately, since I'll be taking a trip from July 1st to the 10th, and I may or may not have access to a computer during this time. But, considering the length of delays between some of my posts, that shouldn't be out of the ordinary.

Map will be edited into this post after the next in-game update, if no one posts after this. So, watch for that. Hopefully, this scene can be concluded soon (Battles take far, far, too long), and for the next two months, I'll do my best to increase my posting speed to that affect. I'll be on holidays, after all.

Thank you again for your continued patronage!

Well, there's relatively little chance of me completing the post tonight, I'm afraid. It's mostly done, just have two scenes (and one PM) to write, before I can post. Map's all but done too, but because I'm a little unsure on what one particular corner of it will look like still, I'm not going to post it just yet.

If the last two scenes weren't the most difficult of the lot, I'd probably be able to finish. But, because these ones actually matter, I think I should wait until I'm fresh to get them up.

My deepest apologies for this further delay.

Edit: Hate post. So much hate. One scene should not be this hard to write. But it is! Also editing at 3:30 am is generally not smart. But hey! The map's done. Its also 99% accurate!

As I understood, Jo was working her way around the Firewall Box so she could get behind Marisa and assist somehow. Arhra mentioned wanting to throw rocks at her, or something along those lines. Perhaps rocks will get through the magical barrier! The first Robot Butler certainly did.

In any event, hello! I am back.

It appears I have a handful of PMs to send out, given the last few responses. Oh, and Bard? I just want to make something clear, the Field of Honor's a ballroom right now, which means the floors are tiled stone, not grass. It hasn't been grass for a long time!

Oh, and the piano Astarte's sitting at is floating quite high off the ground (its actually in the purple void around the Field)! This is perfectly fine.

Good. I was starting to think Astarte taking up the mic to sing Hollywood Undead songs was a step too far.

The craaaazy purple void the piano's in is actually far less dangerous than it appears. But, since no one tried to enter it, so that wasn't exactly clear! Because Astarte wanted to reach the piano, a bunch of magical a bunch of floating stairs would have appeared beneath her feet as she moved upward toward it, or, she'd have just found out that gravity doesn't work right in the void, and would have been able to ascend to the piano without trouble.

Either way, like I said, it's fine. For once, taking a risk (unknowingly or not!) actually hasn't come back to bite you!

Anyway, I'll be waiting for a little while for more posts to be added in-game before I do any updating again. Would prefer not to play GM puppeteer with Sao, Jo, Dal and Kohana since I'm not sure what they'll do, and a poorly selected action could drastically change the scene, under the circumstances. That bothers me, you see!

If they don't post in a week (and don't give me a reason why they haven't) I'll probably update anyway, though.
