View Full Version : Let's Conquer the World: A Let's Play of Risk!

Welcome and thank you for your interest in this LP.
Hopefully we'll be having a good time together as you invade each other's lands and murder the enemy's armies in a lovely game of Risk!
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/pic362337_md.jpg
The Rules:
Despite what Hasbro would like us do, this won't be a game for Objectives. Nossir! We'll be going for nothing short of world domination!
Also, I will be assuming you have a basic grasp of the smaller things of Risk. If you don't, you can throw me a PM and I will explain the things that I didn't explain clearly, or weren't explained at all.
Also, I will be rolling all the dice and moving all the pieces. Initially, this will be done via photography, though depending on quality and convenience I may switch to posting a digital gameboard on the forums and only posting the dice-rolls as actual photography.
Please make sure you have, or can make, enough time to play this to completion. Writing down orders shouldn't take more than 15 minutes, unless you're being really serious about this game, so in theory it should be possible to continue playing no matter what goes on (save serious illness or other maladies, but let's not think about that).
Set-up:
Your initial placements will be pre-defined; otherwise it would take way too long and be way too complicated, taking turns placing our armies.
When signing up, please state which colour you'd like to play and the name of your nation(s) and your title (think grand: Supreme General, Glorious Beacon of Radiance, etc, etc):
Yellow
Green
Blue
Red
Black
Turns, Orders and Re-enforcements:
Turns: The Turns are defined by one player's orders being executed. So, every Round consists of X Turns, where X is the number of players. The Turn order is re-rolled every Round (initiative), so as to keep any (unfair) advantages for a player to a minimum.
Orders:At the end of every Round (Player's orders have been executed), I will expect every player to send their Re-enforcement placements, Attack Orders and Troop Movements to the following email address: Nukleargames [AT] gmail [DOT] com
These orders need to be in the inbox 36 Hours after a round has been posted in this thread.
Order need to be titled in this fashion: [ROUND #] [FACTION COLOUR]
So, for instance the Red army sends me an order for Round 6, the email would look like this:
Round 6 Red
Turn in 3 Stars
Re-enforcements:
4 armies in Indonesia
4 armies in Madagascar
Attack:
5 armies from Indonesia to South-East Asia
Troop Movement:
2 armies from Western-Australia to Indonesia
If there are amendments to be made, make sure you do those as quickly as possible. If all orders for that round are in, I won't honour any changes to yours. Any amendments need to come in the same form. The ENTIRE email copied, and amended where necessary. Email title is [ROUND # AMENDMENT] [FACTION COLOUR]
NOTE: I most likely live in a different timezone from you, so keep that in mind when deciding your options!
After the orders have been sent in (or 36 hours have passed!), I will process and execute them as soon as possible. If I have NOT received any orders from you, your re-enforcements are lost (forfeit), and none of your armies will be doing anything, save defending.
Re-enforcements: The amount of re-enforcements are calculated by ((amount of territories + amount of cities) / 3) + Continent Bonuses + amount of capitals + any number of cards you might trade in for extra armies
I will post, at the end of every Round, the amount of re-enforcements every player is entitled to. The minimum amount of Re-enforcements will always be three (3) armies.
Re-enforcements are placed simultaneously for all players at the beginning of every Round, to avoid a player ending up with not being able to place their armies due to the target territory being taken over.
List of Continent bonuses:
North-America = 5
South-America = 2
Europe = 5
Africa = 3
Asia = 7
Australia = 2
Cards: are received for taking over territories.
These cards are not like your father's Risk Cards, though. Instead of matching three types of army on the cards, these contain STARS. The stars are what you trade in for extra armies. There are 1- and 2 star cards. So, in theory, after Round 2, the first player could have 7 EXTRA re-enforcements.
List of trade-in value for amount of stars traded in:
Left: Number of stars. Right: Number of Armies
0
2
4
7
10
13
17
21
25

Objectives and Rewards
If we were playing the Objective-oriented game of Risk, you'd need to get 3 Objectives to win the game. Since we're going for world domination, this rule DOES NOT COUNT. However, I'm still including Objectives because of the accompanying Rewards.
Rewards can give a player certain benefits, such as:
An extra 2 armies for your re-enforcements
A guaranteed card at the end of every Turn
Extra Troop Movements, either at the start or end of your Turn
Bonus Attack- or Defence dice
An Airport
An Airport adds one (1) extra point to your highest dice in the territory you placed the airport in or the surrounding territories
If a player is completely defeated, the player who conquered them automatically inherits the Rewards, aside from the Airport which gets destroyed if the territory it is in gets taken over.
Attacking and Defending
I think everybody is familiar with attacking and defending, so no further explanation here.
One note: Attackers can define in their Orders with how many armies (thus the amount of die) they wish to attack. Defenders ALWAYS defend with the maximum amount of die.
Conquered Empires: Life after Ruling
A little house rule, not-at-all stolen from other Risk Let's Plays:
If an Empire gets conquered, the conquering leader gets to decide what to do with the fallen leader.
Place in captivity
A Leader in captivity may lead a Revolution (explained below) - assuming they can roll the dice they need to escape...
If a Leader has been placed in captivity, they will need to be guarded by three (3) armies at all times. If, at the end of a Round, less than three armies occupy the territory a Leader has been incarcerated in a Revolution automatically succeeds and the territory become property of the ex-captive and any armies therein change sides.
If a territory with a captured Leader changes ownership, the new owner decides the fate of the captive, assuming they have enough armies to safeguard the ill-fated Leader.
Exile
A Leader in exile has been placed on a small island, somewhere in the North- or South Atlantic Ocean. No Revolutions for you! Unless you can convince the hermitcrabs to revolt against the monkeys of course.
I can't force anybody to do anything, but it would be very lovely if an exiled Leader would still contribute to the Let's Play. This can be done either via writing their memoirs - recounting the tale of their Rise and Fall from their point of view - or otherwise contributing in any way they feel might be appropriate.
Execute
Dead men tell no tales, least of all inspire armies to rebel. Keep in mind this is NOT a fun option. What's Risk without a little bit of risk, eh? We are also deprived of any memoirs or other contributions from this Leader (if they are so disposed). I wasn't kidding when I said the dead don't speak.
*To succeed in a revolution, a captured Leader needs to roll three sixes (6) on their dice.
If the Leader rolls three ones (1), they are caught in the act and are prevented from attempting another Revolution for five Rounds
If the Revolution succeeds, they wrest control of the territory from their captor, and manages to convince any present armies to switch sides into the newly captured territory.
Alliances and Negotiations
The game Risk has no rules for or against alliances, temporary truces and other forms of... ugh, diplomacy.
I will honour this non-rule with the addition that any negotiations between players go through me, via e-mail.
Any player wishing to enter negotiations with another player needs to send ME an email first, specifying so. I will then contact that player with the request and they may then, at their discretion, decide whether or not to honour the request.
Should the request be honoured, the negotiations can commence directly between those players. I don't care how this happens - e-mail or PMs on the forums - as long as I get a record of these negotiations.
Results of negotiations will NOT be publicised, unless one or both parties chooses to at their own discretion.
Negotiation request can be sent to the game e-mail address with the following format in the title [ROUND #] [NEGOTIATION] [FACTION COLOURS]
Example Round 7 Negotiation Red and Black
MAKE SURE THAT YOU SEND YOUR NEGOTIATION REQUEST BEFORE YOU SEND YOUR ORDERS. Orders take priority over negotiation requests. The 36 hour timer WILL be paused in the case two parties are negotiating.
______
I think I now have every major (house) rule described. Any questions can be asked during sign-up or via PM.
So, with all that done, go sign up!
I await your commands, oh grand Leaders of this world!

Name of Leader: Chancellor Impact
Name of Nation: Greater Hommnyr
Colour of Preference: Red. (It is the B3ST COLOUR)
Edit:
Question, though, regarding the turns. One player acts after the other, than much is clear. But you want every player's orders at the beginning of the round? That seems... weird. If Red went before Green, then there's a chance that red's actions interfere with green's orders. If, for example, red captures a territory that green wanted to attack from. What happens then? Does green get to amend their orders?

Make sure you read the updated bit about alliances and negotiations, Chancellor Impact.
Thank you.

Negotiation. Tools of the weak. Sticks and stones may break my bones, words will never harm him. I will focus on the sticks and the stones, and leave the diplomacy to those too weak to succeed otherwise.
Regardless, I am aware of the rules governing it.

Also question; You mentioned cities in addition to countries, how does that work? And also seconding Gems question on conflicting attack orders.
Melfice

Basically, it adds a level of tactics. Since your turn is random every round, you need to anticipate what your opponent may do.
If your order conflicts due to losing the territory, thus having no armies, the order is nullified and canceled. Any valid order in that round still gets executed.
The re-enforcements get placed on the board at the beginning of the Round, on the direction of your orders, before the individual turns take place.
I really hope that was clear enough...
Also, cities offer no further military purposes. It just gives you 1 extra army during your re-enforcement per city.
EDIT: The way I set up the system means the game runs a lot faster, since now we can ideally have an update every 48 hours or less. With people reacting, rather than acting and anticipating, the game move much slower.
Geminex
12-19-2010, 12:39 PM
Huh. That's... interesting, to say the least.
It adds quite a lot of random chance, doesn't it? For one, because you can only predict your opponents' actions to some degree, for another because you have no idea what order they're going to act it.
Hmm...
If you think it'll work, I'm willing to give it a try. But I'd recommend that you establish the order of turns for the round before people have to start sending in their orders. Cause otherwise it'd go from 'some random chance' to 'roulette'.

It certainly worked for these guys (http://lparchive.org/Risk/), although I can't honestly say with certainty how the players reacted to this. The fact the game came to a conclusion tells me it worked just fine.
If everybody else agrees, I am more than willing to post the turn order before the next round begins instead of determining the turn order during that round.
Geminex
12-19-2010, 01:22 PM
Hmm... seems to have.
Yeah, makes sense I guess. If there's an area of conflict, then there'll be two or three sides involved, at most. That makes for significantly less eventualities, thus it's a lot easier to predict.
Plus, the other game gave its players the ability to give conditional orders. Stuff like:
Attack Britian from Central Europe if outnumbering british defenders
If not, attack brazil from peru, retreating once outnumbered
Will we get to do that as well?
Finally, just remind me, how many actions per turn do we get? Like, how often do we get to attack or move troops? I thought it was just once, but the other game gave its players unlimited attacks, so...
Melfice
12-19-2010, 01:28 PM
I'm going with revised rules, so unlimited attacks. Troop movements only once, from one territory to any other territory that's connected. Unless you have a certain reward, which grants an additional movement.
As for conditional orders... let's say no - initially. I'm afraid the game might become too much of a reactionary game, a game where people start do things like "Attack X! Uh... but only if there are tea and cookies waiting for us. And the enemy is fast asleep."
The Artist Formerly Known as Hawk
12-19-2010, 01:31 PM
Risk generally allows you to attack as many times as you want, to wherever you want, so long as you have the troops to do so. Hell in a normal game you can attack, retreat, attack the same place from another territory, retreat, then attack again from the first territory again if you really want. Obviously it'll be a little harder for us, because we won't know how well we've done until the results are posted, at which time it'll be too late to do anything.
I suggest setting orders up so that it's clear when/if to retreat and when to continue on if victorious, as in "Retreat if X losses are acrued" and "if X attack fails, attack from X" (in the event of one force being destroyed but where you may have another force you can move in to finish the job) and "Continue on to attack X if X is successful."
It'll still take some anticipating on our part to judge and predict where enemy reinforcements might appear, but it should work ok. Also it'll help when we eventually get massive armies that can steamroll across continents to be able to place multiple orders to continue on if successful.

Geminex and Hawk:
The rules as they are posted now in the first post, with the addition that the turn order is posted BEFORE the next round instead of during, is how it's going to be.
I am going to concede and promise that, if the majority of the players agree that something does not play right, I will sit down with you guys and discuss on how we can make it better and then change it if we agree on something better. But right now, I just want to get the game on the road. We'll learn and adapt as we go.

Excellent! On both counts. And thanks for taking input. I'll do what I can to make mine productive.

Also, I'll try to come up with some more creative names for my country and title. Stay tuned!

Like I said, unless you're going to be all super serious and micro-manage every single army in the game, I can't imagine writing down orders will take more than 15 minutes. (half-hearted play testing with some friends, so those numbers are somewhat correct for a game that's been going on for about 7 to 9 rounds) Add to that reading my post to figure out what happened, you'll end up with half an hour, max.
That's like taking a really good shit. If you have a laptop, you could be doing both at the same time! I can't really imagine not finding the time in those 36 hours I'm giving you all to type down some orders. :D
Should it ever come to the moment you end up not having the time... well. We'll cross that bridge when we get there.
Make sure to bring C4. Bridges should be exploded.

Because I only have shitty cameras around here, this game start a little bit later.
Tuesday, probably.
Today, if I happen to find a decent enough camera for cheap enough.
EDIT:
So, no good camera at home. Not a cheap enough camera found. Possibly needing to replace my PS3 so I might not even be able to GET a decent camera. But we'll cope with crappy photo's for now while I look for a solution!
Also: the lighting is so horrible right now, I can't take a suitable picture of the board.
Everything else has already been sorted and saved to a notepad file.
After I've taken a photo of the board, I'll post everything at the earliest convenience tomorrow.
I really apologize for the delay, and I hope you'll bare with me just a little bit longer.
EDIT: At the same time, I'll try to find a good digital version of the board and use that to depict the amount of armies in the future.

Did a quick search for you Melfice. There's this online map editor (http://www.totaldiplomacy.com/RiskScenarios/RiskMapEditor/tabid/174/Default.aspx), you could use, or a selection of downloadable ones here (http://software.informer.com/getfree-risk-map-editor/).
I make no guarantees about the quality of any of them though.

That map looks useful.
The strategy guide is hilarious, though. When you strip away the terminology and the bullshit, there is literally nothing there except for what was already obvious. And then they pad it with quotes from the art of war, and, of all things, Machiavelli.
Edit: The funny bit is how hard they try to seem respectable and serious. But there is no strategy there. None of it.

And so we begin!
_______

Planet Earth.
The date: 21st of December, 2010
The entire world has been united for two weeks. Not under a single government, religion or even a cause.
No.
The world was united under a single feeling.
"Dying is not a fun way to spend the holidays."
And so leaders from all over the world came together at this feast, dubbed The Forum, to celebrate two whole weeks of a global cease fire. Yes, even Kim Jong-Il and Lee Myung-Bak attended, going so far as to share a bowl of rice to show goodwill towards the world.
The world does not know it yet, but that night changed everything.
Ironically, not through global peace.
No, indeed.
The world will have changed through global war!
World War 3! The War of the Forum!
No two people agree on how to call this war to this very day. What they do agree on is this: It was horrible, brutal and bloody; the nations of the world united under 5 different leaders, deftly stepping forward to fill the power vacuum created after the events at The Forum, waging war with each other for total control of the planet.
Chancellor Impact, of the Greater Hommnyr.
Supreme Overlord Hawk, of the Imperium of Awesome.
Lord High Regulator of All Law and Discretion Tacticslion, of the Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny.
Tzar Aguia the Inept, of the Empire of Zedan.
And last, but not least: High Drgon, of the Totally Bitchin' Land of Drgon.
Together, we shall follow the tale of their rise and fall, as they try to unite the world and bring eternal peace through shining steel and an iron fist.

Turn order for Round 1:

Empire of Zedan
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny
Greater Hommnyr
Totally Bitchin' Land of Drgon*
Imperium of Awesome*
*After a re-roll to resolve the tie, Drgon rolled a 4, while Hawk rolled a 1.
As they say, Dragons trump Hawks. Even if "dragon" is misspelled (intentionally?).
Re-enforcements are thus: (First round, everybody gets 5. Next round, re-enforcements are counted based on number of territories and cities.)
Empire of Zedan = 5
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny = 5
Greater Hommnyr = 5
Totally Bitchin' Land of Drgon* = 5
Imperium of Awesome* = 5
What the board looks like at the start: Stars indicate capitals, the letter "C" indicates a city.

Objectives, and their rewards, for this war:
Take control of North America - Extra troop movement at the start of your turn
Take control of Europe - Extra troop movement
Take control of 8 cities - Guaranteed card
Take control of an enemy capital - Airport
Control 2 enemy capitals - Airport
Take control of 11 cities - 2 extra re-enforcements
Take control of 2 complete continents - Bonus attack dice.
Take control of 18 territories - Bonus defense dice
You can send in your orders to nukleargames [at] gmail [dot] com starting... NOW!

For the non-generals, if you're so inclined, feel free to contribute in the form of commentary.
Newspapers telling the course of the war from the eyes of a single nation; or the diary of a soldier, again, from one of the armies.
Pieces of art depicting "extraordinary feats" (read: "That shouldn't have worked! What the hell!?) pulled off by the leaders during this war.
Whatever you think will liven up the LP.
One thing I'd like people to start on though, assuming you're willing, is this:
What happened at The Forum that started this war?
What went on that caused all of the world's presidents, royalty and prime-ministers to be replaced by these five leaders and their mad plans for world domination?

And so the World is dead. No, not the planet Earth, with it's near-unlimited ability for self-renewal. Nor, even, all the people who live upon it, though many will lose their lives in a pointless conflict. Nor, even, civilization as we know it.
Instead, the World, as a single coherent, United Entity has been irrevocably shattered.
I am left with little choice. War has come upon me, though not by my choosing. All attempts at reason, sanity, and peace have failed. I have become the supreme chancellor, as it were, my title being the ever-pompous Lord High Regulator of All Law and Discretion. What nonsense. Am I, then, to be a god on this earth? Is that what these fallen people demand of me? I am but a mortal, not even gifted with a modicum of the wisdom of the great and legendary Solomon, yet they deem me lord of all discretion?! And yet, I cannot deny that I seem - at least to my own eyes (though we all know how inflated our sense of self-worth is, as a people, in our own eyes) - to be the wisest and sanest here. Time and again I have been proven correct, though I loathe it.
My fellow Canadians derided me often, extolling the virtues of Peace and the foolhardiness of war - something I agree with entirely. But they, they were blinded by their zealotry. Unable to see, as I, that the world, the people in it, are never able to be sated with such an ephemeral concept as "peace". They demand blood, and, regardless of our best intentions, blood will be shed, either by "us" or "them". Even should - miracle of miracles - the world find itself finally and completely united (as it had done, blessedly enough), I had explained time and again, some vile demagogue with hatred in his heart and the ability to scratch at itching ears would find a way to divide, to shatter, and destroy, killing those deluded innocents who believed that war could ever permanently be itself killed. I warned them, and was, like Moses, or Cassandra, ignored, and even mocked, though my prophecy proved eerily correct. And it is for that correct foresight - as well as for the fact that I have quietly purchased much of the land and military equipment in the North-Eastern world quarter for the sake of my "micro-nation", that I have been unanimously placed as supreme dictatorial ruler over my people during these dark days.
Enough memories! Now is the time to act! And act I have. My orders have been sent. Nearly irrevocable, now, are the gears of war. Despite my best efforts, all my entreaties for peace have been shunned by my fellow rulers, and they have failed to listen to he who - by decree of the people - is the "Regulator of all Discretion". Theirs was the choice to ignore him, so now, they will deal with the so-acclaimed "Regulator of all Law". They wage their petty wars, shatter the united globe with their arrogance, and will pay for their bloody sacrifice to their own grandeur with all they have. Still, I am a merciful, people-chosen "god". I shall have mercy on whom I have mercy, and may heaven help all who reject my rightful rule and raise my ire, as hell will only be too ready to warmly welcome them. Cry havoc and let loose the hounds of war - they are the hounds of hell come to claim the arrogant. Perhaps they shall claim me, as well.

In other words, out-of-character, I have sent in my orders. Do let me know if anything is amiss. Thanks!

I DO have everybody's re-enforcements on the board, but haven't executed your orders.
Either put this poor dog out of it's miseries or forgive him for throwing up over your carpet*, but I WILL have an update up before Saturday.
*You know the one. The antique heirloom from Persia, from your favourite aunt Beatrice.
The carpet that was valued at around $100.000?

State of the world after initial re-enforcements:

Empire of Zedan:
Without wasting time to take stock of their arsenal, the armies under command of Tzar Aguia the Inept marches out of their barracks in Eastern Australia to take back New Guinea from the Totally Bitchin' Land of Drgon, who stole it millennia ago from their revered ancestors.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/BlackEasAus-NewGui.jpg
Unfortunately, the quick departure means about half of the troops forgot to bring any weapons, and roughly three quarters of the army forgot to bring ammunition. The well entrenched four battalions of Drgons fought off the crippled Zedanians with ease, completely eliminating their four battalions.
Unphased by this heavy defeat, Aguia set his sights on Imperium of Awesome's Mongolia, hoping to capture the land that long ago spawned Ghengis Khan.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/BlackChin-Mon.jpg
Perhaps he desires to breed a new warrior race with those genes? Who knows, but Aguia himself?
All we know is that the Zedanians coming out of China managed to defeat Supreme Overlord Hawk's troops, though not without suffering some heavy casualties. Two battalions of Awesomely Imperial troops managed to eliminate three battalions of Zedanians before succumbing to the last battalion.
With a troop movement from Western Australia to China, Aguia no doubt hopes to keep his Asian territories under his command, but might have left Australia well open to conquest.
Empire of Zedan takes Mongolia!
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny:
Looking south, the Lord High Regulator of All Law and Discretion Tacticslion notices the Greater Hommnyr's domination of South America. Making the decision that those poor llamas should no longer suffer under the iron fist of Chancellor Impact, Tacticslion marches his Luminous Imperialist forces south from Venezuela to Peru.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/GreenVen-Per.jpg
In a grand show of force, the Lord High Regulator's seven battalions completely obliterate the two battalions of Hommnyr troops without breaking a sweat, liberating thousands of llamas from slavecamps all over the land.
Bolstered by this victory, the colonel in charge of the march suggests marching on to the capital of the Hommnyr threat.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/GreenPer-Arg.jpg
Caught unawares, Chancellor Impact can only watch as six battalions of Luminous Imperialists from Peru steamroll into Argentina. Putting up a good fight, the three Hommnyr battalions manage to take out one of Tacticslion's forces, but are ultimately defenceless against such numbers.
Capturing the Hommnyr capital will surely put a damper on the fighting spirit of this red-clad army.
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny takes Peru and Argentina!
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny captures an enemy capital!
Greater Hommnyr:
Determined to make up for his embarrasing defeat earlier, Impact orders his Brazillian troops to retake Peru.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/RedBra-Per.jpg
Still heavily celebrating - and inebriating - his victory in capturing Argentina, Tacticslion forgot to place some troops back in Peru to defend against any retaliations, which cost him dearly.
The single battalion was no match for the Hommnyr regiment, being obliterated with a single move of the five Hommnyr battalions.
Not to be outdone by his enemy, the Chancellor orders the taking of Venezuela as well.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/RedPer-Ven.jpg
Having heard the news of the rapidly encroaching Red beast, Venezuelan Imperialists quickly threw up stone defence works. Being outnumbered, however, meant that the four Hommnyr battalions suffered as many casualties as themselves. Which is one battalion; enough to take over Venezuela from the Lord High Regulator of All Law and Discretion.
Greater Hommnyr takes Peru and Venezuela!
Greater Hommnyr recaptures those thousands of llamas!
Totally Bitchin' Land of Drgon
Being well dug in down in New Guinea, High Drgon ignores the aggression by the Empire of Zedan and, instead, sets his sights on Scandinavia.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/YellowUkr-Sca.jpg
Sending a regiment of two Russian* battalions into the woods of Finland, can High Drgon's troops shake off the bad juju from roughly 70 years ago? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_War)
The answer is a sound yes. Not expecting Russia to dare and try their luck, the Imperium of Awesome only left a single battalion to defend Scandinavia.
Totally Bitchin' Land of Drgon takes Scandinavia!
* Ukraine is named Russia on this board. Apologies for the discrepancy with the digital map...
Imperium of Awesome
Having been attacked twice already, what can Supreme Overlord Hawk do to boost the morale of his troops?
Well, for starters, he can try and conquer the African continent. Let's see how that pans out.
Sitting precariously balanced in tiny little boats, a regiment of nine Awesomely Imperial battalions sail towards Madagascar with the full intent of taking it for themselves, should there ever break out a deadly epidemic (http://www.crazymonkeygames.com/Pandemic-2.html).
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/BlueSouAfr-Mad.jpg
Occupying the coast line of the island, the Luminous Imperials put down heavy fire with their coastal cannons, taking out several hundred boats counting up to about four battalions. Five battalions sailed around Madagascar, attacking the two Luminous Imperials in the back and easily dispatching them.
Not given time to mourn the losses of their brethren, the Awesomely Imperial forces were pushed across the sea again, towards Eastern Africa. This time, luckily for them, in two heavily armoured landing craft.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/BlueMad-EasAfr.jpg
As if driven by the god of war himself, the five battalions quickly made work of the regiment of Drgons.
The three battalions put up only light resistance against the flood of Imperials, but still managed to take out one battalion of the aggressors.
With those two countries conquered, Supreme Overlord Hawk looks back at a very effective first campaign, taking and unifying the entire African continent.
Imperium of Awesome takes Madagascar and Eastern Africa!

War.
Since the dawn of time, mankind has waged war. From the moment the first human took up a club and used it to beat his neighbour to steal his food and his women, men have waged war. It is the only true constant in life. It is a force of nature, a requirement for existence, the conflict that drives all things to survive, to adapt, to outdo the competition. And war... war never changes.
Except that it does. Like the beings who utilize it, it evolves. From the first club, to the first spear. To the first sword and the first bow. To the gun. The tank. The bomb, and worse. We have ever found new and more efficient ways of waging war, of killing those who appose us. And just as we have an ever increasing arsenal of weapons, so too do we have an ever increasing number of foes to use them against.
And so it has come to this, the inevitable, the great and Final War, wherein our entire species, as one being, will wage constant war, until there is only one remaining victor. And it is my honour to lead my people in this great war. When the fires of destruction roll across this world, the enemies of the Imperium of Awesome will be purged and a new order will arise. Finally, there will be... peace.
My enemies are aligned against me; to the west, the armies of the Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny, and Greater Hommnyr, the pompous fools and the bumbling oafs. They wouldn't know a war if it smacked them in the face but even still, together they could be a threat. They will be cleansed soon enough.
To the east, the sprawling hordes of the Empire of Zedan. Already these insolent cowards have attacked me, but our brave soldiers fought to the last at heavy cost to the enemy. Revenge will be swift and decisive.
And to the north, the cretinous Bitchin' Lands of Drgon. I will not waste more ink on those vile people.
Time is short, already my enemies show their hands and begin their movement and I too must make ready. Already I have swept the lingering taint of heresy out of these lands, reclaimed this country and fortified its borders. I have begun the conscription proccess; every man from every province is being called forth, soon I will have an army with which to begin the great purge, this Final War.
They will not know what has hit them.

Also, quick question, people.
How do you like it now that round 1 is done? (Aside from the delays. I promise I will be better about updates now...)
Do you want more pictures of the battles? The face-off and the aftermath, so to speak?
Or is this enough?
Would you like to see the dicerolls for each battle? Or do you trust me enough with the die that you'd rather not clutter up the thread with them?
Also, that's a nice blurb there, Hawk.

There comes a time in every ruler's life when he must Decide. Standing at a crossroads, an uncertain future ahead of him.
I will not claim to be a good ruler, or a just ruler. I've committed my share of crimes, and more willingly, I think, than most. Blood and Flame were my watchwords, once. And when they no longer sufficed, Power and Control took their place. I am no philosopher, certainly no deep thinker.
But despite all of that, I feel Injustice. Whatever else this is, it is not right. We should not have fallen so easily, so quickly. Our capital should not have been breached, our walls broken, our troops overcome by the green surge. I feel Injustice. And I feel Rage. This will not be allowed. Power and Control served me well, but Blood and Fire have their... advantages.
And as I make this decision, pen these orders, I know there can only be one course. Blood and fire. Venegance.

I think it's looking pretty good so far. Obviously this is only turn one, so the massive continent hopping armies haven't arrived yet and there's not so much to photograph. Perhaps later on things can get more elaborate. And I don't think we need to see the dice rolls, that would be a nuisance for you and not really neccesary to see anyway.

Folly! Waste! Vanity!
War has fallen, and but one thrust deep into the world, but one step into the tide of madness and already foolishness has befallen me! I warned, did I not? Yet I was chosen for this title, it was given me regardless of my own desires!
My ministers and advisers... fools, all who'd drink themselves to slumber for mere fear. Too cretinous to even think that I could change! And now what could have been a fortuitous turn of events is, instead, calamity, all because they were "too busy" checking my private mail for poison! Poison! Imbeciles! I walk the streets daily - any who hate me will come to me personally. I've nothing to hide. The people are free to approach me - surly any would-be assassin would choose such a readily accessible time. And my contemporaries do not know of nor would they even care for such subtlety - there's is a mind filled with raw power and violence against their enemies. When I had my opportunity for honor, I was denied by simple bureaucratic incompetence. Well, I must be more diligent in the future. I shan't let such opportunities escape me a second time.
Orders are tentatively sent in. Also, only bother with visual dice rolls, if you think you'd like to. I'm pretty sure we're all cool and trust you.

Okay, here's a rules update, effective Round 3, concerning conditional orders.
Conditional orders ARE allowed, with restrictions:
- You're able to specify with how many armies to attack, adding the condition whether or not you want to retreat from a battle when your attackers drop below a certain number/below the amount of defenders.
As soon as it becomes clear to me people are abusing this to make sure they can't easily be counter-attacked, this ruling is gone.*
- You're NOT allowed to enter a move like this: "Attack Ukraine if the number of attackers from Scandinavia is greater than the amount of defenders. If not, attack Northern Europe instead, but only if the amount of attackers is..." well, you get what I mean.
Compare the game as we play it with a soccer game. You can't call a break every time the opponent gets his hands on the ball to tell your own players to do "x if he does y, but if he does z instead you move to cover 9".
You try to anticipate what the opponent does before the game and during half-time.
In this regard, you're lucky, since you have a half-time every time a Round is over.
What I'm trying to say is, after every round, you have your information. The post contains the general strategy a certain Leader might be following (for instance, Tacticslion went straight for Geminex' Capital (with the misunderstanding, it seems, that taking over their capital eliminates that player from the game. Sorry, Tac!)).
What could that mean? it could mean he wants Geminex out of the game as soon as possible. It could also simply mean that Tacticslion thought South America was an easier target than North America. It's up to you to determine what a player's moves could mean.
Another example, Hawk went to unify Africa. This gives him 3 extra armies every Round.
Is he going to start turtling? Or, once again, was Africa simply a convenient target? Or is there more than meets the eye (Africa is part of a giant Transformer!?) in this?
It's up to you to figure this out.
Why did I do this?
Because Risk is the name of the game. I understand you don't want to leave yourselves open to attack, or mistakenly attack somebody with more defenders.
But with the limitations of playing this game online, and not wanting to spend weeks just playing one round, concessions need to be made. Which is why the way we play it adds more obscurity about the plans of your opponent.
You need to react to your opponent before he's even made his move.
This is also why the turn order changes every round. It aims to eliminate a sense of unfairness, since the first player will be able to act, while the rest can't actually react.
That's why I initially wanted the turn order to be made known only during the round, but in retrospect, this would have made the game less fun.

Greater Hommnyr
Chancellor Impact looks over the map and sees his foe High Drgon slithering further into Europe from his fortress in Moskow. Ever eager to thwart the plans of his enemies and looking to expand his territories, the chancellor orders his British troops to stop drinking their Earl Grey and move into Scandinavia, conquering the land Drgon had taken for himself not too long ago.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/RedGreaBrit-Scan.jpg
Nine battalions form the regiment that crosses over the North Sea into the fjords of Norway. Losing one of his battalions to collapsing fjords the Bitches Bitchin' regiment brings down on them, the regiment quickly leave their ships, diving in the freezing water. Losing another battalion to hypothermia, the Hommnyr troops flank the three Bitchin' battalions who thought they had all drowned and quickly overtake them. Scandinavia has fallen for the second time, now to the Red Army.
After a short period for the Hommnyr troops to catch their breath and some tea, they are pushed south into Northern Europe, to further harrass the Totally Bitchin' Land of Drgon.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/RedScan-NortEuro.jpg
Pushing deep, the Red Threat manages to go as far south as the Rhein before they face opposition by Drgon soldiers, three battalion strong. Taking sides on both sides of the river, heavy artillery fire is employed by both armies. Getting caught by a shell, one Hommnyr battallion is killed during a quick hunting sortie. Enraged by the loss of twenty pedigree hunting hounds (and the slain battalion, I suppose), the six remaining battalions swim across the Rhein and tear out the throats of the terrified Drgon troops.
Leaving his European campaign to give them a break, Chancellor Impact sets his sights north. To the North-Western Territories in Canada, to be precise!
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/RedAlbe-NortWestTerr.jpg
Feeling confident by his recent victories, Impact pushes one battalion from Alberta towards the two defending Drgon forces. Unaccustomed to the rough northern Canadian terrain, the vehicles quickly become stuck, and the soldiers are easy pickings for the Drgon snipers.
Hoping to leave his South African territories less exposed, Impact moves two of his troops from Venezuela to Brazil.
Greater Hommnyr takes Scandinavia and Northern Europe!
Empire of Zedan
Taking another chance at liberating his ancestral lands, Tzar Aguia once more takes a shot at conquering New Guinea.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/BlackEastAust-NewGuin.jpg
Sending everything he's got stationed in Eastern Australia - an impressive five battalions - with the express orders to check their gear, the Zedanians make a swift attack at the already badgered Drgon's three battallion defense. Having set up coastal defenses to ward off any future Zedanian attacks, the Drgons easily take out four-fifth of the aggressor. Luckily, a single battalion had arrived at the port too late, and were being airlifted over to New Guinea. Dropping down by parachutes, they catch the celebrating Drgons by surprise and quickly take them out with advanced Black Ops maneuvers (OOC: Get it? Hahaha, I kill myself.).
Feeling threatened by both the Japanese and the Siberian, both under control of Hommnyr's Chancellor, Aguia the Inept hopes to eliminate at least one front in this war. Ignoring the fact he just assaulted Drgon territory leaving Siberia open to counter attacks by the High Drgon.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/BlackIrko-Sibe.jpg
Sending a regiment of two battalions from Irkutsk, Aguia feels very confident against the lone defending Hommnyr group. What he did not anticipate, however, was the presence of the Bear Cavalry (http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/bearcalvaryqn9.jpg).
Awestruck by the rushing Hommnyr soldiers, riding armoured bears, they can do nothing but stand and stare as the bears tear through their ranks. Siberia is safe once more.
Moving one battalion from Indonesia to India, one can only wonder what Aguia's next move will be.
Empire of Zedan takes New Guinea!
Empire of Zedan controls Australia!
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny
Further continuing his aggression toward the Hommnyr, Tacticslion catches Impact with his pants down. Grasping the moment, the Lord High Regulator attacks Alberta with three battalions from Ontario.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/GreenOnta-Albe.jpg
Having been allowed to retrieve their vehicles - drained of fuel by the Drgon, of course - the single group of Hommnyr soldiers can do nothing but walk into an armed welcoming committee, turning over the keys to the army base and lock themselves into the brig.
Also trying their luck, the Luminous Imperials push for the North-Western Territories, only to find the defenses beefed up and weather conditions turned bad. Lost and confused, the two Imperial groups are decimated by a combination of friendly fire and walking into giant bear traps.
Down south, at the border between the United States and Mexico, Tacticslion hopes to stop the influx of Mexican immigrants by annexing Central America instead.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/GreenEastUS-CentAmer.jpg
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/GreenWestUS-CentAmer.jpg
Going for a battle of attrition, the Lord High Regulator first sends a battallion of Eastern US troops into Central America. Taken out, and sending for help, a Western US battallion quickly comes to the rescue... only to find their Eastern brothers sedately smoking a blunt. Not wishing to be denied the opportunity of some good vibes, the Western troops settle down and accept the free joint from the Mexican defenders.
Seeing the humiliation already brought upon the High Drgon, Tacticslion hopes to finally bring the Totally Bitchin' Land of Drgon to tears by conquering it's capital.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/GreenMiddEast-Ukra.jpg
Sending an army of five battalions from the Middle East down to Russia, the Lord High Regulator hopes to have enough punching power to take the capital. Not having anticipated High Drgon to re-enforce Russia, the Luminous Imperial troops run into a veritable wall of Yellow defenders, 4 battalions strong. In a horrible clash, both armies nearly destroy eachother, save for one Imperial battalion rushing for Moscow while avoiding the fighting. Finding only a token defence force guarding the leaders of the Drgon lands, they are quickly brought to submission, leaving the capital of the Totally Bitchin' Land of Drgon in the hands of the Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny. High Drgon managed to escape to neighbouring lands to continue his campaigns.
Perhaps in an act of mercy, perhaps in an act of even further humiliation, Tacticslion orders two of his troops to move out of Russia back to the Middle East.

Five battalions ship from North Africa to Brazil, hoping to capture it quickly and punch a hole into Hommnyr forces.
Losing two full battalions to STDs given to them by Brazilian prostitutes, the single Hommnyr army stops celebrating Carneval and comes to attack the invaders. Being drunk and dizzy from the dancing, they are no match to the Awesomely Imperial soldiers and they are quickly subdued.
Imperium of Awesome takes Brazil!
Totally Bitchin' Land of Drgon
Being reduced to only four territories, High Drgon is acting out of desperation, retaliating blindly for the conquering of his capital. Or is it pure strategy? In any case, attacking from Afghanistan he sets his eyes on the Middle East.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/YellowAfgh-MiddEast.jpg
Sending two armies down, is there any chance for the Drgon troops agains the three Luminous defenders?
Surpisingly, a group of Afghan terrorists distract the Imperial forces, allowing the Drgon soldiers to catch them by surprise. Losing one battalion to landmines, the remaining force quickly send a shower of RPG grenades down the trenches making quick work of the defenders.

This game is hilarious.
Mostly, because more than strategy, or heroics, or daring RISKs, it's been defined by misunderstandings.
Who said games couldn't reflect life?
I dunno. I think tacticslion is taking some daring risks, rushing like he is.
Also, were this game played as intended, he'd be 2/3rds down to a victory.
See, in this version of the game, the win-condition is clearing 3 objectives, thus getting 3 rewards.
Unfortunately, since we're going for world-conquest, this means very little.
Beyond that, I'm not entirely sure what you mean. Are you going by what I'm writing, or by the pictures and actual battles?
Because what I'm writing is being pulled out of my ass as I go along. :P
Also: when people are going after Southern Europe, please be so considerate to only do so when there's 3 armies defending in Southern Europe and 10+ armies attacking from the Middle East. We can all agree that a 300 reference is nothing but appropriate.

By what's actually happening.
And yeah, those are some pretty big risks. But eh, they're paying off.
Melfice
01-09-2011, 11:43 AM
Ah, indeed.
I'm still not entirely sure where you're seeing those misunderstandings, but maybe that's something you could put in a little blurb to post in this thread?
Just write a little story, or something.
If you're so inclined, of course.

Yeah I agree, as an interested bystander, Drgon should go first as he won the first round of rolling.

Not first, but yeah he should be going before Red.
tacticslion
01-10-2011, 09:40 PM
Not first, but yeah he should be going before Red.
Actually, Hawk, Drgon got a four, you, Geminex, and I got threes, and Sage got... less, regrettably.
That would put Drgon first, then we three with a roll-off to determine who goes first between us. That'd be me, then you, the Geminex. So!
Turn should be:
1) Drgon
2) Me
3) Hawk
4) Geminex
5) Aguia
That said, I'm not complaining that I get to go first - it'd be nice (for me and my gluttonous ego) to stick with that, but if Drgon goes before Geminex (which, according to my understanding of the rules, which might be flawed, he should), he should go before the three of us - we all started with threes, compared to his four.

I thought we were just going by a "whoever got the highest unique number" basis, rather than a "whoever gets the highest number FIRST" basis. As it is now the guy who got a 4 is going before the 2 people who got 5 and 6, just seems a little odd.
Not complaining though, that was just how it looked to me when I first saw it. Doesn't affect my plans at all anyway (I hope...)

In the case Dark Drgon is reading this, you have 2 hours to get your orders to me.
If not, I'm sorry to say you'll be sitting this round out...
Also, if your "kinda homeless-ness" persists into the unforeseeable future, it might be best if somebody else takes over your spot...

Extension of deadline. You have until Sunday 8 PM. Make the most of that time!
Please make sure you have sent in your orders before tomorrow (Saturday, January 15th) 20:00 hours, GMT+1.
This is, again, mostly aimed at Dark Drgon, though I'll have to assume he's sorta homeless again. Or has another reason for not being able to get to his email.
Anyway, 20:00 GMT+1, that's eight PM Greenwich Mean Time plus one.
Figure it out for your own timezone.
EDIT: Post that was above this one, but deleted to avoid a double-post:

This was, apparantly, the way my mind was thinking when I posted the order.
It was, however, not the way I intended it.
Anybody who feel the new turn order negatively affects their orders are free to send a revised set of orders in.

Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny
Separated from their own, the Luminous Imperial army in Argentina push to reunite with their American friends and families.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/GreenARGE-PERU.jpg
With only one Hommnyr defender against the four battalions, Peru is quickly lost, paving the way for the Imperial Train of Destiny to steam on north.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/GreenPERU-VENE.jpg
Again, only a single battalion of the Red Army stands in the way of the Great Reunion, swiftly crushed under three battalion's worth of Luminous Imperial Boots® (Best quality! Free when you sign up with the Luminous Imperial Army! Contact your closest recruiter!).
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/GreenVENE-MEXI.jpg
Finally, the Final Showdown. The already slimmed down Imperial regiment faces, for the final time in this pilgrimage north, a single battalion of Hommnyr soldiers, ready to lay down their lives to protect their homeland.
Finally smelling home, the Imperial soldiers storm past the defenders and embrace their families and loved ones. Overcome with sympathy and love, the Red Army temporarily lay down their arms - only to have their actual arms blown off by explosives, fired by a small group of Imperial soldiers who stayed behind. The only Red remaining in Central America being the blood spilled, these soldiers can take a (no doubt short) rest.
Further up north, the Lord High Regulator apparantly sees an opportunity to finally unite North America under a single flag.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/GreenGREE-NORTWESTTERR.jpg
Facing stiff opposition, Tacticslion hopes to use a big iceberg as cover for when he strikes at the North-Western Territories under Drgon control.
Unfortunately, the Drgon armies are just then using similar icebergs are targets for their artillery training, blowing the Imperial cover out of the water. Snipers quickly and cleanly finished off any survivors.
Over in Europe, Tacticslion orders his Russian troops to further harrass High Drgon by attacking Southern Europe.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/GreenUKRA-SOUTEURO.jpg
Overpowering the Drgon army two-to-one, the six battalion strong regiment of Imperials still lost two battalions due to well placed minefields. After the Green warriors cleared those, it was a brutal massacre.
Mad with power, Tacticslion then orders a regiment of three to cross the Mediterranean sea to liberate North Africa from Awesome control.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/GreenSOUTEURO-NORTAFRI.jpg
Facing five battalions in defence, many consider this move suicidal, but with civil unrest in Tunesia flaring up once more, the defenders are spread thin keeping Tunesians from defecting to the enemy and actually fighting off the enemy. With help from the rebels, the Luminous Imperials manage to infiltrate the Awesomely Imperial army in North Africa and with the regional leaders assassinated during this operation, the territory quickly changes colour from blue to green.
A final push further into Central Africa should cement Tacticslion's foothold into the continent.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/GreenNORTAFRI-CONG.jpg
Briefly taking hold of this territory, the Central African Imperial defenders resort to guerilla tactics, and knowing the jungle far better than the Green warriors, quickly eject most of the invaders from their lands. Unfortunately for the Luminous Imperials, this primarily means the bits that couldn't be eaten.
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny takes Peru, Venezuela, Central America, Southern Europe and North Africa!
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny DOESN'T take a Reward this Round!? Whaaaaat!?
Imperium of Awesome
Supreme Overlord Hawk, unaware of the troubles in his own continent, moves on northward. Seeing a weakened Great Britain, he quickly moves in.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/BlueWESTEURO-BRIT.jpg
The single defender battalion is quickly pushed in the Thames by the five battalion strong regiment. Too busy with tea-time, they fail to take notice and suffer a watery death.
Leaving Europe for what it is, Hawk looks back to South America. From Brazil, he moves nine battalions to Argentina, which was nearly abandoned by the Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny.
(No picture, for some reason...)
From Argentina, the Awesomely Imperial soldiers follow the exact same trail the Luminous Imperials have.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/BlueARGE-PERU.jpg
Eight heavily armed battalions stare the single defending group into submission without a drop of blood spilled. (That is a lie. One Blue soldier pricked himself while sowing up a tear in his combat fatigues, spilling a drop of blood on his uniform. But that was the ONLY blood spilled.)
Carrying on, the Imperial soldiers quickly reach the Venezuelan borders where they meet yet another Green battalion.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/BluePERU-VENE.jpg
These soldiers, natively being from Venezuela, were not so keen to surrender as their Peruan brothers, despite the overwhelming odds. The Blue army, on a roll, simply steam-roll the Luminous Imperial and take Venezuela for themselves.
Now controlling South Africa as well, Hawk is ready to celebrate yet another succesful campaign when he hears the loss of North Africa.
One continent controlled, one partially lost. The Supreme Overlord cannot be happy about this.
Imperium of Awesome takes Great Britain, Argentina, Peru and Venezuela!
Imperium of Awesome lost complete control of Africa!
Imperium of Awesome conquered South America!
Greater Hommnyr
Seeing Tacticslion abandoned Moscow, Impact swiftly orders his North European troops to take Russia.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/RedNORTEURO-UKRA.jpg
One battalion para-drops on the Red Square, securing the Kremlin, while the remaining seven engage the single defender. Easily taken care of, the Red regiment now controls Russia.
To secure their new acquisition from the Zedanians, what better way than a giant wall of impenetrable mountains?
Thus the Chancellor looks east to the Ural mountain range
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/RedUKRA-URAL.jpg
With the High Drgon still sleeping, the single Drgon battalion is in disarray and driven up the mountain range, turning their own defence against them. With little to no supplies and stuck, they are a small threat and will die sooner or later.
Looking south into Afghanistan, the desert there would form another fine defensive line.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/RedURAL-AFGH.jpg
Under the guise of liberating the Drgon inhabitants from terrifying terrorists, the Hommnyr secretly pay off the rebels to be folded into the Red army as irregulars. The thankful Afghan populace easily turn over control to the Greater Hommnyr.
Hearing about the loss of Britain, Impact sets his sights back to Europe, travelling via the Middle East, conquering all in his wake.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/RedAFGH-MIDDEAST.jpg
Five battalions are sent South-West, against a single Drgon battalion. Having heard of the advancing Red army, the Drgons laid a vast minefield. One battalion of Hommnyr soldiers is taken out by it, but the rest succesfully traverse the no-man's land and lay waste to the Drgon camp.
Forces now thinned out, Impact orders a final advance into Southern Europe before regrouping.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/RedMIDDEAST-SOUTEURO.jpg
One Luminous Imperial battalion stands firm but, aside from a few casualties on Hommnyr's side, they are unable to halt the advance. The full three battalions march via Greece into Rome to take control of Southern Europe.
Greater Hommnyr takes Ukraine, Ural, Afghanistan, Middle East and Southern Europe!
Empire of Zedan
Tzar Aguia looks to further expand his territory into Asia, and chooses Afghanistan as his next conquest.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/BlackCHIN-AFGH.jpg
From China, four battalions march into Afghanistan. Initially halted by a sandstorm, the natural defence line of the desert proves inadequate to the Chinese troops who had time to train in the Mongolian Gobi desert.
A single defender then makes no difference. Afghanistan falls once more.
Afghanistan conquered, the Tzar looks to the Middle East, and it's rich oil supplies.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%203/BlackAFGH-MIDDEAST.jpg
Three battalions are drafted in India and shipped to the Middle East, where they face a single Red defending battalion. Heavy tanks manage to take out one of the attacker's battalions, but as the distance is closed between them, anti-tank weaponry takes care of the defender.
Finally, in the east lies Japan. A single Red stronghold in the growing Black sea.
(Once more, no pictures for whatever arcane reason.)
As they tried hundreds of years ago (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mongol_invasions_of_Japan), an army of Mongolian soldiers is sent across the East China Sea. As if the gods were toying with them, again the weather turns bad halfway across. This time, the Mongolians are better prepared. The large battleships easily sail through the storm and the troops land on the Japanese shore.
Losing one battalion to banzai attacks, the Mongolians have no further troubles conquering Japan due to it's continued insistence of maintaining only a light self-defence force. The remaining two battalions are rounded up and locked away for safe keeping.
Empire of Zedan takes Afghanistan, Middle East and Japan!

That's totally the wrong spot for an eye. Uh, never mind!
ALSO! As to Dark Drgon, I'd recommend Krylo, if he wants it, or otherwise second rolling the dice. IF it ends up coming to me, Drgon, let it be known I'd be glad to return to you you're rightful place in existence (should it be possible) if you return. THAT said, I kinda hope it comes to me and - no offense, 'cause I actually do like you - that you don't return (to this game, 'cause I want to win - I do want you around the forums, though!).

Deadline has passed.
Didn't expect anything from Drgon, and his territory will be gambled off. Who it goes to will remain a mystery until the update is up. (I already rolled a die for it. Suffer in agony!)
Sorry, Gems. You didn't make the cut this round.

Yellow
The end is come.
The glorious leader, High Drgon, has given up his rule and has passed on his single remaining territory to Supreme Overlord Hawk and the Imperium of Awesome.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%204/DistributionNortWestTerr.jpg
Greater Hommnyr
Chancellor Impact was, apparantly, too busy with inner court business to issue orders, and has gone on defense this round.
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny
Having the forces, and with the current transfer of power, Tacticslion sees his chance to finally conquer North America.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%204/GREENOnta-NortWestTerr.jpg
Three battalions face off against the two Awesomely Imperial defenders. Loyalties not yet won over, the former Drgon soldiers couldn't care less what happens to their new leaders, and slack off. The Luminous Imperials simply waltz over the stronghold and take the North-Western Territories.
With this thorn finally removed, two battalions move west into Alaska, where more Awesomely Imperials wait.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%204/GREENNortWestTerr-Alas.jpg
With both refugees from the newly conquered North-Western Territories and the march of the Green Army, the Imperials put up a brilliant effort, but the single defender is spread too thin and cannot help but surrender.
And so, Tacticslion finally has North America under his command.
Finally, to annoy Hawk one more time, Tacticslion orders a single strike further into Africa.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%204/GREENNortAfri-EastAfri.jpg
One against one, the defenders are well dug in and easily repel the aggressors from their land.
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny takes North-Western Territories and Alaska!
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny conquers North America!
Imperium of Awesome
Having lost complete control of Africa thanks to Tacticslion, Hawk cannot let this insult go by.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%204/BLUEWestEuro-NortAfri.jpg
Pulling troops from the European frontline, his West European forces march back to North Africa to reclaim what is theirs. The four battalions easily surprise the lone defenders and capture their base of operations.
By this time, news of the conquest of his new North-Western Territories reaches Hawk's ears, and with it the news that Tacticslion unified North America. Hoping to punish the green leader for this earlier transgressions, Hawk attacks from Venezuela.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%204/BLUEVene-CentAmer.jpg
An overwhelming army of nine battalions is sent north into North America to mess stuff up for Tacticslion.
At the border with Mexico, they meet two defenders, who are quickly eliminated with the help of long-range artillery.
This border taken, Hawk's lieutenenant expect little resistance, as the majority of the Green Legion is stationed around the northern borders.
[no satellite imagery due to a Stealth Field Generator present at the Airfield*]
Unfortunately, with an airfield present, the Awesomely Imperials find out that Artillery beats Bunker, but Fighters and Bombers beat Artillery. A small group of Blue sappers finally manage to destroy the airfield and it's complement of aircraft, but not before three battalions are taken out of commission.
The airfield taken out, the Imperials can finally take the territory for themselves.
* Read: Melfice forgot to takes pictures. Again.
With half the US under control, how can the Supreme Overlord stop there?
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%204/BLUEWestUS-EastUS.jpg
The main focus of the defense for the Luminous Imperials was the superior airsupport. With that destroyed, the single tank division stationed in the Eastern US is no match to the four anti-tank battalions sent it's way. The entire United States has now fallen.
Still not satisfied with the revenge taken, Hawk pushes three battalions into Ontario.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%204/BLUEEastUS-Onta.jpg
Once more it appears an easy battle for the Blue army, but with the neighbouring Eastern Canada having a functional airfield, it's simply a repeat of the battle for the Western US, without the victorious outcome for the Supreme Overlord. The three battalions are riddled with rounds from the A-10's main gun halfway to the Green bunker.
Imperium of Awesome takes North Africa, Central America, Western United States and the Eastern United States!
Imperium of Awesome conquers Africa!
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny loses complete control of North America!
Empire of Zedan
Taking advantage of Impact's busy schedule, Aguia finally pushes to take the last few territories to conquer Asia.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%204/BLACKChin-Ural.jpg
Four battalions are sent into the Ural mountains. Without too much difficulty, the defending force is scattered and the base is taken.
Once more, Aguia's elite Mongolian forces are sent into service, up into cold Siberia.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%204/BLACKMong-Sibe.jpg
With extreme ferocity, the Siberian forces manage to take the lives of two full battalions, but even so, the remaining three go into a terrible rage and eliminate the defenders.
Controlling Asia, the Tzar looks to make a statement, and pushes very boldly into Europe.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%204/BLACKAfgh-Ukra.jpg
With five battalions from Afghanistan, Aguia marches to the Kremlin. the Red army defends their capital bravely, but ultimately a single defender can do only so much. Taking one attacking battalion with them, they colour the Red Square even more red.
(Not entirely sure why there are only four troops shown. One must have shifted off the board somehow. Rest assured, there WERE six armies in Afghanistan, allowing Harpuia to attack with five armies.)
Finally, to reenforce the eastern border, the Tzar orders three battalions from Japan into Kamchatka.
Empire of Zedan takes Ural, Siberia and Ukraine!
Empire of Zedan conquers Asia!

I'll update your re-enforcement totals later today.
Something urgent has suddenly come up, but I've come this far with the update that I'd rather just edit that in later.
EDIT:
Re-enforcements for Round 4 and card/reward distribution. Also, turn order for Round 4.
Greater Hommnyr: 4 territories + 2 cities / 3 = 3 MINIMUM = 3 armies + any armies for traded in cards
Imperium of Awesome: 15 territories + 7 cities / 3 = 7 + 2 for South America + 3 for Africa + 2 for Capitals = 14 armies + any armies for traded in cards
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny: 6 territories + 1 cities / 3 = 3 MINIMUM + 1 for capital = 4 armies + any armies for traded in cards
Empire of Zedan: 17 territories + 4 cities / 3 = 7 + 2 for Australia + 7 for Asia + 2 for capital = 18 armies + any armies for traded in cards
Harpuia is the only one who received a card for taking over a territory. The other three either qualified for a Reward or failed to send in orders.
Tacticslion receives a reward for conquering North America (even if it is for less than a turn). You get a Troop Movement at the beginning of your turn, in addition to the one at the end of your turn.
Hawk receives a reward for conquering two continents (technically, Harpuia qualifies too, but Hawk got it first...). You get a bonus attack die.
As always, I'll email you the amount of stars you have, although for most of you this remains unchanged.

Because he actually stepped out of the game, he pretty much committed suicide.
Since he had no intention of actually coming back, as far as I'm aware, I figured the best thing to do was remove him completely.

Betrayal. It is the last thing a man of peace truly suspects, even in a time of war. Honor apparently has no place here. All is lost, ashes to dust, even as those trusted as allies were unable to keep their word - even for so short a time as we had. Fools. The world could have been brought to peace, but now they bring it only to ruin. My empire is doomed.
Now, at last, I see the meaning of lies and sloth being deadly sins. For they have doomed me, though the sins are not my own. Lies and sloth have brought me to ruin. Lies and sloth have murdered many good men and women. What evils this blue menace and red failure have brought to me. What shame.
Now, I have nothing but the last, great, hurrah. And I shall set forth to make my mark on this vile and sinful world - a mark that none shall ever forget!
Orders are in. Also - Hawk: you suck. Traitor :P I mean that in the nicest way possible! :) Good job.

Me??! I'm the traitor??! Oh you have such a nerve. You're the one who attacked Africa first, when you really should have gone after North America! I was the one who was betrayed, so I did the only thing reasonable; I returned the favour. I struck back with unholy fury when you apparantly least suspected it. And don't give me any shit about how Africa was never mentioned in our agreement, I see now why you left in that little loophole, so you could give me one continent while damaging the other. A ceasefire is a ceasefire and we had a ceasefire, which you broke first. Twice, in fact, as you tried to attack again the next turn!
If you thought I was going to take that lieing down then that was a massively disaterous oversight on your part dude.

http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%205/NuklearRiskRound5Reen.jpg
Empire of Zedan
Aguila bleeds Russia dry of it's able young men and drafts twenty-one full battalions and goes straight for Southern Europe.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%205/BLACKUKRA-SOUTEURO.jpg
With six battalions on stand-by, Impact must hold this land, or it may very well be over for him.
Luckily, a shipment of defensive cannons headed for Supreme Overlord Hawk was recently stranded in Italy, and with the advantageous lay of the land in Greece the Chancellor may yet hold his territory.
Like the plan of King Leonidas of the Spartans long ago, the Black army is funneled through a narrow mountain pass and, with the help of the cannons, ten battalions are taken out of action right then and there. The remaining eleven battalions manage to break through the pass and storm the encampment of the Red army. A bloody skirmish commences with the Hommnyr soldiers managing to eliminate four more Zedanian groups; unfortunately, during the skirmish the Red army lost 5 battalions themselves, and the final battalion proudly surrenders, knowing they managed to destroy a large amount of their agressors before they ever reached their homelands.
Southern Europe taken, and furious with the loss of his grandest army yet, the Tzar wants to make Impact pay dearly. The four fittest of his Russian battalions are pushed north into Northern Europe.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%205/blackSoutEuro-NortEuro.jpg
With only a single defender, Northern Europe falls easily. Just short before the capital of Berlin a group of Hommnyr allied rebels and remnant soldiers attack the Zedanian army and manages to take out the heavy tank division. The territory lost, however, they flee in the night.
Trying to further increase his already vast amount of land (and possibly to gain a beachhouse at the Costa Blanca) the two remaining battalions from Southern Europe are sent to Western Europe.
[Melfice, apparently, forgot to take photos of this. What the hell...]
Dug in well enough around Barcelona, the Awesomely Imperial defenders manage to deflect this annexation attempt with surprising ease without any serious losses.
Finally to defend against Tacticslion, Aguia moves three more battalions from Irkutsk to Kamchatka.
Black takes Southern Europe and Northern Europe!
Black receives a reward for controlling 18 territories! You get an extra Defence die.
Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny
Pulling soldiers from Alaska, the Lord High Regulator of All Law and Discretion marches south to liberate the Eastern United States from the evil claws of Hawk.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%205/GreenEastCana-EastUS.jpg
Eight Luminous Imperial battalions face off against fifteen Awesomely Imperial battalions.
An unexpected fly-by from the Green attack aircraft at the nearby airforce base eliminates five battalions before they manage to get proper anti-air defences up. The blue defenders in disarray, the Luminous Imperials storm the battlefield.
The battle proceeds extremely equal, with the same amount of casualties falling on both sides. Were it not for the fact that Hawk still has two more battalions than Tacticslion, he might have won. Sadly, the offence was turned into a loss; although a very close, and strategically very valuable loss.
Greater Hommnyr
Still reeling from the onslaught brought upon them by the Zedanians, Impact orders his soldiers to dig in and await further developments.
(OOC: Unfortunately, all his re-enforcement were placed in Southern Europe. And with the remaining territories only having single armies left...)
Imperium of Awesome
Hoping to take advantage of the retreat of the Luminous Imperials, Hawk orders his troops to attack them in the rear.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%205/BlueEastUS-EastCana.jpg
Unfortunately, the Supreme Overlord failed to take into account the airforce base in Eastern Canada and the distinct likelyhood that they would have some armed helicopters there.
Taking heavy fire from the chopper, the attack is called off and the single attacking battalion is dispersed or killed.
(OOC: Seriously, it was a 6 on the die for Hawk and a 5 for Tacticslion. Without the airfield, Tactics would have lost Eastern Canada. Be grateful for the +1 on your dicerolls there, Tactics...)
Leaving North America for what it is, Hawk looks to stopping the march of the Black army.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%205/BlueEgyp-MiddEast.jpg
Mobilizing his Egyptian soldiers, he attacks the Middle East with five battalions.
Losing one battalion of infantry to improvised explosive devices, the remaining four face up against the two Zedanian defenders. Caught by surprise, the defenders are disorganized and quickly fall beneath the Blue wave.
Finally, Hawk marches into Europe to liberate it from the Red bastards and the Black devils.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Risk%20Round%205/BlueNortAfri-SoutEuro.jpg
Three North African battalions sweep into Italy from Tunesia and mop up the occupying Zedanian forces there. The Italian police, not recognizing the Awesomely Imperial soldiers for what they are, open fire on them as they think them Tunesian refugees, and manage to eliminate one battalion of infantry through sheer confusion alone.
Consolidating his hold on Africa, so as to not lose it once more, Hawk order 5 battalions from Brazil to North Africa.
Blue takes Middle East and Southern Europe!
Blue receives a reward for controlling 8 cities. Starting the next Round, you now receive a card, regardless of what actions you take.

I apologize about the delay in getting my orders in. Welp. My probably-last-turn's orders are in. It's been a fun game!
War. Since the dawn of time it's been raging... and for what? Why do we subject ourselves to the endless horror of limitless slaughter? All so that a few, wicked, deceitful men (who happen to like the color blue) can aggrandize themselves, growing rich off the deaths of their loyal followers whose only crime was being duped into believing a lie? Is that all that this has come down to? So be it. I, so-named Lord of All Discretion shan't stand idly by while villains win. If they do so, I will do all that I can to make it costly for them. It shall never be said that I went down without a fight. Even should history forget, I can see my ancestors with honor - honor that I fought to the last. My people, come with me one last time. To paraphrase a famous patriot from our southern, now-enslaved brothers once said, give us liberty, or give us death! If the villains truly win, it won't be because we refused to fight! We shan't go quietly into the night! We will never give up, and never surrender! They may take our lives, but they shall never - never - take our freedom! Have at thee!

That... still doesn't answer anything. We had a NAP, you invaded africa. You didn't amend your orders to not invade africa, instead you made a beeline straight for my capital. I even told you you should take that time to go and secure north america, but you didn't listen.
And don't give me any bull about not mentioning africa as being off the table when we made our agreement, if you honestly thought I was willing to trade africa for south america to you and lose the extra reinforcements and NOT seek out revenge immediately then you deserve what you got. Traitor!
Not that it matters now of course.

That said, I'm giving the advantage to blue with 2 continents now. I wonder if this comment results in a coalition against Hawk

Right, so I have everybody's orders in right now.
Tomorrow is little work, so I'll play the game then and post the update this Wednesday.

Greater Hommnyr
In an effort to secure what he has, Impact attacks Great Britain to conquer at least the North Sea.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%206/REDScan-GreaBrit.jpg
Three battalions sail from Scandinavia like true vikings and storm the beaches of East Anglia... to find very little resistance, indeed. One defender valiantly tries to hold the land, but soon has to give up on account of being outnumbered three-to-one. And death.
Great Britain rests in the hands of the Greater Hommnyr once more.
Greater Hommnyr retakes Great Britain!
Imperium of Awesome
In a single, gracious sweeping motion (minus that little jerk via Greenland...), Hawk plans to take Canada and unite North America. Starting with a strike into Eastern Canada (Quebec).
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%206/BLUEEastUS-EastCana.jpg
An army consisting of ten battalions are pushed into Quebec, who's defenders fight hard against the scout party and manage to come out on top, but sadly have to surrender when the rest of the army catches up. Quebec - and with it, the capital of the Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny - falls easily, though the families of the scouting battalion will cry loudly tonight for their losses.
Before their surrender, the Luminous Imperials do manage to destroy the airfield, however.:ohdear:
From Eastern Canada, Overlord Hawk surprisingly looks at Greenland next. Naturally an impressive landmass and strategically located, but it's been a quiet place these last months. Still, Glorious Leader Knows Best, of course.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%206/BlueEastCana-Green.jpg
Sparing no expenses, eight battalions are flown to Greenland, and with only a skeleton force installed as defence, the land falls quickly to the invaders.
From Greenland, seven Awesomely Imperial battalions are immediately flown to Ontario, where Lord High Regulator Tacticslion decided to place his re-enforcements this time.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%206/BlueGreen-Onta.jpg
With four defenders, the seven attackers might be in for some stiff resistance. Two helicopters, combined carrying a single battalion, are shot down upon reaching the border, but the rest of the aircraft easily drop their payload over Ontario's cities. Brave fighting by the Luminous Imperials cannot stop the cities falling one by one, however, and as the cities fall, so do the defending battalions. In a final counter-offensive, the Green army manages to take out one further battalion of Awesomely Imperial soldiers, but soon after fall themselves.
From Ontario, Hawk quickly marches four battalions to Alberta to avoid a rallying of forces there.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%206/BlueOnta-Albe.jpg
Fatigue has set in, however, and one battalion falls to a trap set by refugees from Ontario.
Regardless, the Blue army marches on and reaches Alberta where a short firefight has the Luminous Imperial running for their lives... to be shot in the back by very irritable Awesomely Imperials.
Soldiers need their naps, or they get mean...
Granted their power naps, the Blue army makes it's last strike, going for the North-West Territories, previously a veritable impenetrable fortress.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%206/BlueAlbe-NortWestTerr.jpg
Two battalions are marched north, where they find a single defender heavily entrenched and ready for anything.
The Supreme Overlord rides a bitchin' motorcycle up the hill, and addresses the entrenched defenders with great spirit. What was said is unknown (for now?), but it was certainly effective as the Green soldiers surrendered and folded into the Blue army.
Knowing nobody sensible would live or work in Alaska, a single battalion was sent into the frozen wasteland to finish the resistance of the Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%206/BlueNortWestTerr-Alas.jpg
Once again Overlord Hawk rides with his forces, this time to track down the once great leader Tacticslion.
Breaching the bunker, Hawk is met with a strange sight.
Several of the most important generals of the Luminous Imperial army lying on the floor... dead. And the leader sitting on a chair, defiant in the face of his enemy, but slightly sad as well: "We were all going to commit suicide to avoid capture... but one of my generals took two cyanide capsules. And we only had just enough."
What does Hawk do, in the sight of this proud man?
a) Imprison Tacticslion in one of his territories?
b) Exile him?
c) Execute him?
Before taking this huge decision, the Supreme Overlord first stations six of his battalions from North Africa in Egypt to defend against the Black beast of Zedan.
Imperium of Awesome takes Eastern Canada, Greenland, Ontario, Alberta, Northwest Territories and Alaska!
Imperium of Awesome conquers North America!
Imperium of Awesome inherits the Rewards and Stars previously held by Grand Imperium of Luminous Destiny: Starting next Round, you can move troops at the start and end of your turn.
Empire of Zedan
As a revenge for having Asia taking from his grasp, Tzar Aguia focusses all his attention on getting the Middle East back into his control.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%206/BlackAfgh-MiddEast.jpg
Once again, a grand army is raised, consisting of eleven battalions total.
Watching them march must have been a terrible thing to behold. Which is most likely why the Awesomely Imperial troops must have ordered the firing of all their cannons into the oncoming Black Beast. Eliminating five battalions levels the playing field into an evenly matched grand mêlée.
Or that would have been the plan, were it not for the fact the Zedanians were equipped with artillery as well. Several salvos of their guns dispatch the Blue army and peace - or at the very least the rule of Aguia - returns to the Middle East.
Further, Aguia appears to have the desire to oust Hawk from Europe.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%206/BlackNortEuro-SoutEuro.jpg
Two battalions are sent into Southern Europe, where five defenders are waiting for them. Well stocked and rested, the Awesomely Imperial soldiers easily route the attackers and send them howling and bleeding into the mountains.
As a last order, Aguia ships four battalions from Kachatka to India.
Empire of Zedan takes Middle East!
Empire of Zedan conquers Asia!

Re-enforcements for Round 7
Greater Hommnyr: 3 (MINIMUM) + any re-enforcements for traded stars
Imperium of Awesome: 21 territories + 8 cities / 3 = 9 + 10 Continent bonus + 3 Capitals = 22 armies + any any re-enforcements for traded stars.
Empire of Zedan: 18 territories + 4 cities /3 = 7 + 9 Continent bonus + 2 capitals = 18 armies + any re-enforcements for traded stars.
All Leaders receive a card this round for taking over a territory.
Your new Star totals will be emailed to you.
The turn order for Round 7 will be posted later, as it seems I bought shitty batteries, and they died.
Also, Hawk, please tell me what you'd like to do with Tacticslion.
Also, Tacticslion, please tell me if you'd still like to be in via the Revolutions mechanic. It may not give you the chance to win the game, but there's the odd chance you could at least mess some stuff up for Hawk. Which is always cool.

Shouldn't you have like pmed that to Tacticslion? I mean, it's right under where you're asking Hawk what to do with him. Seems like he'd just execute him since there's like zero benefit to keeping him alive.

Everybody was aware of this rule and what it may do.
You need to roll 3 6's to start a revolution, though. What're the odds?
Mainly, it's just there as flavour. Sure, Hawk can execute Tactics. But what's the fun in that?

Oh yeah, I mean I know everyone was made aware but it's totally the kind of thing you might forget about this far into the game.
I totally hope he doesn't choose to execute, it just seems like the best option is all.

From the account of His most loyal servant, The Grand High Scribe, of The Imperium of Awesome, on the Almighty Defeat of the Great Traitor Tacticslions final army...
Behold his Splendor!! The Supreme Overlord rides forth to Single Combat with the embittered foe! Those Vile Greens, long a thorn in the Great and Only Master of All the Worlds side, soon to be utterly Crushed beneath His Mighty Boot! In this Frozen Land, the Final Retribution shall be delivered unto them! As he doth open the throttle of His Most Glorious Steed and let out a Thunderous Roar of the 5.4 Litre Engine and well over 2000cc's of Power, as he raced toward Their Line, and By God did the Heavens not Shake! As He approached the Enemy did not stir, did not fire, probably because they were out of Bullets I do not know, or perhaps because they just knew that they be Royally Fucked, it was never made clear. His Motorcycle did stop before them and He cast out an Unfriendly Gaze and the men there did Shit Themselves with fright. He looked unto them and He saw into them and He but spoke One Word;
"Pfft!"
And Lo did they all Throw Down Their Arms and Prostrate Themselves before their new master, but He had already ridden on, for His Destiny lay elsewhere...
From later in the Account of His most loyal servant, The Grand High Scribe, of The Imperium of Awesome, on confronting Former High Lord Regulator Tacticslion...
... and I was with him on That Day as well, when, upon breaching the Bunker, we did Witness the sight of the Many Dead, all of the Hierarchy of "That Other Imperium." But there, in that place, sat One alone; The Leader, The Grand High Whatshisface himself. A most Sorrowful Sight he was. Unbidden, he did speak to The Supreme Overlord, and he said; "We were all going to commit suicide to avoid capture... but one of my generals took two cyanide capsules. And we only had just enough."
Without even requiring One Moment to think up a Snappy Comeback the Supreme Overlord did reply; "Here then, let me help you with that." And he did pull out His Gun and Shoot the Former Grand High Thingy in the Head, who did fall to the ground, being Entirely Dead. He then looked upon Me and did Proclaim; "I dislike Traitors, Capiche?," and we shortly departed from That Place to continue The Great War...

A two-fold apology.
1) I intended to update the game Wednesday. However, work threw an extra delivery day at me, without any due notice. I only got that announcement on Tuesday, when they delivered a new stack of mail to be delivered.
I have everybody's orders in, so I intend to update the game coming Sunday.
2) It seems I misread the rules. I was under the impression that you could attack with an unlimited number of armies from any given territory.
What the rules actually said is that you can attack a given enemy territory unlimited times... from different friendly territories, but only with a maximum of three armies at a time. (Also, only once from every different territory.)
I blame the fact that this game explicitly mentions it's revised rules, so I just missed the bit where the rules also explicitly mention attacking and defending has remained unchanged.
I am not certain whether my house rule is something I should maintain in the future, as it does somewhat speed up the game but it can lead to some... imbalances. Regardless of what I do in the future (assuming there'll be a next Risk LP), this LP will be continued with the current rules still in place.
Pandemic! Hells yeah.
With, or without the expansion "On The Brink" even.
So there might be a bio-terrorist involved, assuming people agree to that. It DOES make the game a bit harder, though.
But, uh... let me just first focus on bringing this to an end. :P

Greater Hommnyr
One territory left before Europe is free from both Blue and Black scum, all of the Hommnyr recruits are shipped to Russia for that final push.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%208/SUNP0024.jpg
Unfortunately for Impact, it appears Hawk has strengthened his sole remaining foothold in Southern Europe.
Five battalions are pushed forwards, into Greece where they meet up with seven battalions of Awesomely Imperial defenders. A fairly even-sided battle ensues, nearly forcing a stalemate with one attacking battalion holding and moving forward against two defenders. Sadly, fatigue set in amongst the rookies, and exhaust finally leads to defeat. At the very least, the Imperial threat hasn't grown in Europe.
Imperium of Awesome
Maybe the colour red was getting on Hawk's nerves, maybe it was something Impact said. I don't know what did it, but after leaving Europe well alone, the Awesomely Imperial army pushes hard for Europe in what looks like a blitzkrieg.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%208/SUNP0025.jpg
First a small army crosses the Strait of Gibraltar from Morocco into Spain. Unaware and understaffed, the six Blue battalions make quick work of the single Red defending battalion.
From Spain, via France, through the Strait of Dover, Great Britain is then on the target list.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%208/SUNP0026.jpg
Once again, caught unaware, the Hommnyr battalion did not even see the night-time landing in Dover. Outflanked by the five Awesomely Imperial battalions, the defender surrendered without a fight. Sensitive papers were wisely burned, however.
Incapable of resisting the lure of the Dutch coffeeshops and distinctly red lighting among the Amsterdam canals, the field commander makes an initiative and crosses the North Sea into the Netherlands and Northern Europe with four battalions.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%208/SUNP0027.jpg
Once again, an easy victory for the Imperial Army, Note from your Game Master: It should go without saying, but obviously this was an actual order given by Hawk, and not something I did for the lulz. when he hears that one of his commanders placed hookers and blow above the plans of the Imperium.
His North African forces ravaging the Amsterdam Red Light District for anything that'll get them high and anything that'll get paid to get laid, Hawk looks to his Greenland soldiers to finish the job.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%208/SUNP0028.jpg
First off, five battalions attack their little brother, Iceland. The single defender puts up a hard fight, taking out two of the attacking battalions before they even set foot on Iceland soil, but eventually they fall to the stronger Imperial soldiers.
Slightly crippled, the Awesomely Imperial warmachine still marches on, landing in Norway to take over Scandinavia.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%208/SUNP0029.jpg
Unable to spot the attacker through the dense Norwegian woods, the Hommnyr soldiers are easily picked off by Blue snipers.
Finally, perhaps in an act of euphoria, Hawk orders a push at Russia.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%208/SUNP0030.jpg
A grand army of a single battalion marches down, into the Ukraine. Enraged by their earlier defeat in Southern Europe, the Russian army was hoping for a rematch. And a rematch it turned out to be. In a furious bloodlust, the Russian Bear Cavalry cuts through the attacker like a hot knife through butter.
And so Hawk's conquest of Europe is stopped short in Russia, with a great deal of help from Iceland.
Imperium of Awesome takes: Western Europe, Great Britain, Northern Europe, Iceland and Scandinavia!
Empire of Zedan
His only wish to keep Asia under control, Tzar Aguia once again pulls the elite soldiers from Mongolia, and sets them loose at the Blue invader in Kamchatka.
http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/bb458/MelficeSilesius/Map%20pictures/Round%208/SUNP0031.jpg
Nine battalions are sent against the six defenders, and told to either liberate that land, or return in a coffin.
Some of the Mongolian Zedanians took this a little bit too literally, rushing blindly into battle when it looked like they were going to lose, but the last four battalions held just a little bit more love for their own life than that of their Tzar's. They devised a clever plan, sending three battalions for a fake surrender, while the other one infiltrated the Blue base.
Attacking from inside, the four Imperial battalions were surprised and dispatched between a small battalion of soldiers with guns, and a far more terrifying group of soldiers killing with nothing but bare hands and teeth.
Empire of Zedan takes Kamchatka!

Damn, foiled at the last hurdle. I knew I should have sent my North Africans into the Ukraine, but I felt that because that was 1 territory more than the Greenland force that they should go in instead. This is the problem with same-time risk and having to split forces to prepare for any action though I suppose.
