Ok, so alongside some of the 3D shit I got going on, I've been delving into the world of digital painting. It helps with texturing, and well, it's just damned good fun.
So, here we go... Some photoshop painting! There is no watermark on this image, so don't steal it now!

The lens flair is pretty well done. It's not nearly as obnoxious as the average lens flair has the potential to be.

It was hand crafted from the finest of flares.
Forged from the purest of photons.
painted by hand, in other words.

Looks pretty damn amazing. And the flare was well made. I can't really see any glareing faults.
An overall stunning piece, Torque.

Well come on then, out with it. You ain't got nothin' gon' break me.
note: anyone who wants, absolutely feel free to take/use the image in any way, except making money off it.
Or if you DO make money off it, share the wealth? ;D

I'm going to make a fortune selling t-shirts with this image printed across the chest. Should've put a watermark, sucker!

YMMV on rather or not the hand made lens flare is distracting. And lots of artist seem to go without a Water Mark. And anyone can use this.
Though yeah I suppose Torque should have placed a small water seal on this to prevent theft.

pfft.. Who would want to? I think it's good, but it's not theft worthy.
Use it as you will.
consider it a gift, oh interwebz!

I was upset with your use of the word glaring.

My apologizes then. The pun was not intended. A freak accident.
New stuff is pretty damn cool. Gotta get some decent planet textures myself.

I never even saw the word glaring in anyone's post... :S
We're all friends here!
A little cliché, but hey, wtf, right? I'm still getting the hand of some of this shit.

Kyanbu, if you want, I will be more than happy to make you some textures, depending on what you want, and if I have the time. Or hell, I can even tell you how I make mine

Moon Textures. I could really use some. Or a how to guild for making them.
Haven't had the best of luck figuring it out on my own.
By the way I like the new one you've made.

Moon Textures.
As in a moon, or the moon?
Also, are they to be tileable textures for use in 3D, or do you want to paint pictures with them?
By the way I like the new one you've made.
Thank you. I appreciate the appreciation.

Those images are great, my only complaint is that they're not big enough for a 1080p monitor, other than that, they're awesome ^_^
Torque

they should be... the images are 1920x1080 in size... Photobucket might be shrinking them.
If you want them in full size, lemme know and I will see what I can do about uploading them in full size.

Fuck you, photobucket, I'm an imageshack man now!

P.S. my apologies if posting such ginormous images is a violation of the rules of posting images in general. I don't really remember the specifics pertaining to image posting on the boards.

I use photobucket only for small images for that same reason :P. Also, thanks for the full size upload :D. With imageshack you can use a clickable thumbnail that leads to the full size image ;)

The moon. and either will work though preferably Tile able textures.
And your welcome. :)

Oh, that's easy.
Get a set of hi res images of the moon from it's various faces, and then murge them into one document.
Splice them together into one seamless horizontal image, and then squash the top and bottom edges, slightly to conform to that of a sphere when mapped such. Don't forget your corners... Those are the worst. Wikipedia has a good article on Map Projections which you might find handy.
Or, if you wanted, you could cheat. (http://www.oera.net/How2/TextureMaps2.htm) :)

If you want stuff that doesn't require source images, now THAT I can help you with.
But generally if you want pictures or texture maps of real stuff, someone has already done it, and done it ten times better than you :P

Honestly, either or will work.
Well I'll make it work anyway. XD
