Protected enemies are protected by the two enemies flanking them.

As in, the Medic was flanked by Sergeant B and Footsoldier C. Those are dead, so now the Medic isn't protected anymore.

You killed the Engineer that was flanking the Fount, but not Footsoldier B, so the Fount is still Protected.

Testament Drives take the primary type of the pokemon using them. They're just powerful attacks that cost 50 Rage.

Ruin type is super-effective against Fighting, Grass, Ground, Rock and Ice.

Evoliths are weak against shit all. So if you want to hit them hard, just climb on top of 'em and drop a nice big turd.

Seriously dude, the Testament Drive and Ruin type stuff is all in the documents. You should have those.

If you want to debate the balance of the rules, that's fine. But I'm kinda informing that if I say that the rules are one way, it's damn likely to be that way because I did the entire database splurge and actually have links specifically from AB saying so.

AB: Would Full Restore cure flinch such as the ones that has stunned Lola for 3 turns? I'm just wondering because at the moment there is no item specific to cure flinch. The reason being because normally flinch only works for specific round and thus there is no logical reason to have a item specifically to cure something that goes away before the next turn start.

What does that mean in a mission where we are split up? Do all 5 of us have to be knocked out regardless of where we are? Or does it means we risk getting gamed over easier when there are fewer PCs in each group?
Or are we not following this rule anymore and just assuming that as long as there are PCs and Medics, the battle is not yet over? I mean, that post was made way back last June. And we come quite so far already and we're all pretty attached to this game. I'd imagine we'd all try to use our PCs and our NPCs and go down fighting to the last combatant then suddenly lose instantly because the PCs fall in combat.

But fine, a rule change: if all PCs are knocked out, the formation goes into Overwhelming Tide (morale to 0) until ALL are revived again.

The fate of the Prideguard is pretty insignificant after Burkmont is finally defeated. After all, the Gabriel Force would be wiped out, any secret bases raided, and all of the high ranking officers killed aside from that imbecile Major Grant.

Whether Impact decides to do something about the Prideguard remnants or not is his choice entirely. But in the end, they'd be pretty much like the comic relief villains if utilized at all.

What? That was Team Rocket's role? In Pokemon Umbral, Team Rocket is going to be quite serious and dangerous.

Forget Jessie and James. Forget Butch and Cassidy. Pokemon Umbral introduces the badass trio of Ryuhei, Shinobu and Omaflayer, and their intentions are far more malevolent than just abducting an electric mouse.

Renny and Lola is a very nice pairing because of the number of forms or pokemons that claim to be related to emotion/happiness.

Renny has:

Togekiss: Jubliee pokemon which we all know is like an avatar of happiness. Also evolved from Togepi to Togetic by Happiness factor.
Umbreon: Evolves through Happiness factor.
Shaymin: Known as the Gratitude Pokemon.
Gallade form: Emotion pokemon with emphasis on being gallant.

Lola has two forms that evolve through Happiness. Lopunny form and Chimecho form.

^^ Doesn't change anything but it seems nice to know.

The size of the thing is huge. Way too much to upload normally apparently.

So I attempted to save it as a ZIP file. Let me know if you guys have any problems.

There are two files. One of them is the entire guide.
The other is the list of links to all the posts I collected for the purpose of citing/recording the data I pulled in the first place (It also includes the list of Slayer armors/weapons/accessories and all the Omakes which I already posted before.

Now, some of the data you might not find in the guidebook. That is because some of the rulings have been ruled as out of date and such. So basically, I worked my way backwards from the raw data links, inputting what was new and going toward the old stuff, ignoring whatever I came that would contradict the newer rules.


Now, as I said before, this databook is hopefully meant to be a decent guide to what the current Umbral setting is like, but if I made any mistakes or if it looks like things needs to be rebalanced/edited, we can surely work that out.

AB, please let me know what you think of it. Would like to hear your input, and I did put some notes (in red font) as a reminder to myself as to questions I felt needed to be asked/clarified.

Reposting the battle plan I had for Bard for my reference: Still thinking on whether to actually have Bard use it. I will probably have to change it though since I made the plan back when I thought we were still using the old enforcer rules.


Melanie: Shift to Honchrow form for immunity to psychic type (and avoiding 2 quad weaknesses) Spends 75 of her 80 rage to use 5 items. 2 healing items on herself and on Kyrie (Heal the two up to full), and 1 revive on Entei (which also gives Kyrie 25 rage for being a leader).
Charlotte: Switch with Mio.
Mio: Shifter to Raikner Form. Use "Cluster Fall" to hit 4 random targets. (100 Pwr x 2, 4 Foes (Random), Ruin) Paradigm Shift after gaining rage from the attack.
Kyrie: Spends her 50 rage to use Endless Waltz on "Psyshade Charlotte" for 500 power with whatever damage is super effective (Probably Bug/Ghost/Dark).
Cecilia: Spends 50 rage to use Great Escape. Is Invincible for 3 turns. Attack Psyshade Charlotte. If she is knocked out, target Psyshade Kyrie. If both are knocked out, target Psyshade Matthias. Use the weapon "Murder of Crows" with any of these.

I realized that the groups that we're going to be having for the sequel is kinda foreshadowed by our first mission. Pierce and Renny in one group like they were for the rooftop. Impact, Charlotte and Matthias in the same grouping as per the front door invasion. And everyone else who was in group 3 during the first mission is pretty much permanently absent.

Anyhow, I was thinking in my head wondering how much longer until AB is ready with the promised sprite comic (no rush btw. Just excited). I have also been playing Pokemon Platinum over AGAIN, which involves yet another bunch of mass-breeding of pokemons...

And since the sprite comic (or one of them) is about Renny being taught about the birds and the bees by the ladies of this RP... I had this horrible revelation based on the laws of pokemon reproduction...

Basically, in the pokemon games, it is possible to not only breed pokemons with different species (so long as they are in the proper egg group)... But you can also breed pokemons with their offsprings/parents!
Like, I caught a female houndour and I wanted to breed for nature, but I didn't have a male one (and it was damn hard to catch one in the first place because they would keep using roar and ending the battle prematurely). So, I bred that level 20 houndour with the male level 4 Shinx I caught early in the game which also happened to be of the same "Ground egg group". Because they were different species caught by the same trainer, their attraction rating was low, but eventually, I got some eggs. The first male baby houndour I got, I switched Shinx out (who got 20 levels in the process of being in the daycare) and started breeding that newborn level 1 male houndour with the now level 25 female houndour... >_> They started pumping eggs with tripled chance of success...

Now, I'm starting to wonder if any of the ladies that Renny would be talking to would try to use any of THOSE examples especially if they (such as Lola) justified any hypothethical attraction to him by claiming it is "perfectly natural in the pokemon world". Especially since Renny is pretty much younger than all of them and pretty much... fits the situation (without being that far on the extreme).

I mean, look at the pokemon games. Pokemons creating eggs cause such a stir that you can't even go past Hearthome city to the next town because several guys are blocking the doorway because "The next town over found an egg!" and they blocking the way as if they were cutting off public access to a metaphorical crime scene.
Seriously, I could understand if they just lied about not knowing how eggs were created because your character is a 10 year old trainer and they didn't feel that sort of knowledge should be revealed to someone so young, but then why are they standing around being a public annoyance? The way they behave, it's like they don't know how pokemon reproduction occurs despite their society having lived thousands of years alongside them!

I've come with some additions to the rules, effective immediately once approved by all y'all. It's all pretty much based on Logic. I dunno why I thought of new rules for Snipers when I was playing Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. My mind goes in bizarre directions.

New Rules About Snipers and the Move Super Fang:

The Sniper class can directly attack enemies that are under the Protected status. This goes for their own attacks, attacks by any deployed Pokemon, the Killshot skill shared by all Snipers, and Signature Techniques and Pokemon Co-Ops.

When characters are in the Rearguard of the formation, they are placed under Protected status. No, this does not mean they can attack like enemies with the same status. Rather, it means they can still be attacked by enemy Snipers.

Additionally, Snipers will now recieve Rage bundles per turn like Destroyers instead of earning it during the trading of blows like the rest of you since not being in the formation makes it next to impossible for them to gain Rage by being hit. All Snipers will recieve 25 Rage at the start of each and every turn except for the first turn, where as you know they start with 50 like everyone else except for Destroyers will still recieve their dose of 100.

A Sniper's Killshot will not be able to instant-kill PC characters (like you), L-Type enemies like military tanks and PokeWeapons, and Boss status enemies like...well, bosses. However, very high damage will still be dealt to make the spending of 50 Rage worthwhile. If a Killshot does kill someone or something like that, it's because they were idiots who let their health fall a little too low.

These same enemies will not have their health cut in half by Super Fang, but the move will still do considerable damage so as not to make itself worthless. It seems to be one of Charlotte's primary tactics and I wouldn't want to render it useless except for when putting down bitch enemies.

Oh, and I'm not doing the card system after all. It wasn't so much the issue with using cards as it was the elements involved. The reason I had those elements in the first place was because the creatures of the netherworld were also going to be based on those elements, but screw that as well. Now the demons will have Pokemon types and that'll make all this much easier and understandable.

Cards kind of do still exist (Eldys's own Arceus was in a card, after all), but their use will be more like the Knomere version of Pokeballs (Pokecards?).

You say to-may-to, I say to-mah-to, and in the end they both still hold and deploy Pokemon.

So, AB, I know there are some changes pending for the data rulebook I made, (some of it from discussing things with Gem and Drac) but did you have any thoughts about it? Liked it, thought I made some errors or something? Think something I put there is outdated? I would be glad to know about any concerns or ideas.

We're still trying to work out the specifics of actions and Snaggers (trying to avoid having to keep track of yet another stat, the happiness one)


In fact, there are a few sections in the data rulebook which asks for clarifications. I'll put them here.

- All character can use the ability Prime to double their rage generation with the forfeiture of their regular action. (Clarify if this means all actions are forfeited or just one)

- If a Slayer or Pokebrid is defeated and then revived, they gain 50/100 Rage Points due to the new passive ability, Vengeful Rage. Pokemon Trainers and Snaggers gain 25/100 Rage Points per Pokemon revived due to this same ability. This ability is not activated on a character who died because of a suicidal move, like Explosion or Healing Wish. (Change ruling so only Leader Pokemons are affected?)

(Ask if Snagballs can be aimed at other foes like humanoids to try to inflict a status condition instead of being limited to just pokemons. Also ask if snagballs deal damage and if so, how much.)

- If a medic with pokemons leaves combat, their Pokemon stay, but they cannot attack. Despite any orders one might give, Pokemon only respond to the call of their master. They're basically tanking that turn, also preventing Single Target and Multi-Target moves from effecting the Medic. (Clarify this!)

- Dual-classed NPCs gain levels in both their primary classes at the same time. (Ask if NPC abilities are effectively exactly like AB’s upgrade list or if there is a standard ability list for NPCs.)

How much power does a Testament Drive has? 500?
