I've decided to get into comic books recently after starting to read the new Batman Beyond and Turok Son of Stone comics, but the shop I was going to decided to take a holiday on the day when I was going to visit them. As such, this whole brick-and-mortar thing seems quite unreliable!
So I would like to order comics online but the guy who owns Heavy Ink (he does own it, right?) is, well, a douchebag, unfortunately. As such, I was looking for an alternative online retailer who offers similar pricing on shipping. Midtown Comics seems to be Brian's recommendation on how to get his Atomic Robo issues online, but their shipping cost appears to be 2.99 on any order, unless you are spending at least 75.00. Heavy Ink on the other hand offers .99 shipping if your order has at least 3 comics (which mine would, I have no problem with racking up a few different comic subscriptions, but I can't rack up 75.00 very easily).
So what is the alternative everyone has found? Does Midtown Comics offer a shipping price I haven't seen? Or is there another online retailer I could use?
EDIT: This is pretty hilarious, btw. (http://reason.com/blog/2011/01/25/the-saga-of-travis-corcoran) How could they misconstrue his support for murdering politicians with support for murdering politicians? Impossible!
