was thinking a game where its done from perspective of someone actually left alone with nothing, having to fight off monsters every night. Perhaps his slow decent into madness

people would vote to decide direction, like build a house, hollow out a mountain, dig a hobbit hole. and of course this being minecraft, no do overs

not sure about how to handle death though

I would do it on a multiplayer server, then you could have occasional guests with custom skins to make the story more EPIC.

I would do it on a multiplayer server, then you could have occasional guests with custom skins to make the story more EPIC.

I call Nappa from DBZ.tempting, but that would take away from the sense of isolation. plus as a rule multiplayer servers have monsters off and then its just me building crap

As long as you have voice recording and then flip the fuck out whenever a skeleton or creeper legitimately scares you I'll be fine with it. Especially since I just got through Zetaplay's entire minecraft series so I'll be needing something else.

I wouldn't do it as a video LP, I dont have anything that would let me capture it in even decent quality.

I'd do it more like a log of events, plus I think that kind of fits the isolated vibe I am going for

If thats the case, it seems like it'd be better to not do an actual "lets play" , but rather a made up log of hypothetical events with humor or something in mind. More of a creative writing project with minecraft as a theme than a log of events that really happened.

was aiming for a mix. To base the creative writing off of what actually happens, and using peoples input to determine how to use time and resources.

I've seen some things sort of along these lines in the Minecraft threads, although they tend to be more "Here are the things I am making look at them." Maybe we could have a general Minecraft Diaries thread, where everyone can post their ongoing stories and/or cool designs? Because I can see this being a thing a lot of people would want in on.

I have an interesting solo run going that I would screencap and use if this happened.
