Just using this as a litmus test as to whether NPF has/wants an IRC channel and if an infobot would be desired there.

I'm already doing this for the #FFWiki channel and it would be the same bot, SacredMinotaur. It responds to its own name, Cow, Bull, Brothers, Sacred, Minotaur, Mino, and GF. Further information can be found here: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Final_Fantasy_Wiki:IRC/SacredMinotaur

This comes with the understanding that the bot may not always be there (such as when my ISP flakes overnight and I don't bother to check it and make it reconnect) and isn't exactly perfect.

Further support can be found here (http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/User_talk:Bluestarultor#IRC_Bot_Help_.26_Feedback) for now, but if people feel the bot is a good idea, we'll just run with it and probably make a sticky here or something.

I think we had an NPF IRC channel once. I think I even was there once or twice, but it was completely dead.
The NPFers who inhabited the old yaplet plus others can now be found in the chat over at GPD. As much as I'd like an IRC the AJAX chat has some pretty nifty features not in IRC.

Also, during the NPF Diablo sessions we had a Bot called Rex the wonder dog, who was very very VERY helpful. (every thing he said was a random number of woofs with random punctuation, sometimes calling the name of someone in the channel.)

EDIT: HEY! WHATEVER HAPPENED TO THAT AJAX CHAT ONE OF THEM ADMINISTRATORS ANNOUNCED!!???

MadCow (the bot's base) doesn't handle AJAX chat (although oddly I do know it'll do AIM), and I know for sure it can handle only one kind of chat service at once.

Also, MadCow speaks English. It's designed to mostly be a tool, but it does have some things in there for fun.

At any rate, if it's not needed, it's not needed.
