That's right, Doc McNinja writer, Chris Hastings. (http://marvel.com/news/story/15347/fear_itself_deadpool)

It takes a certain kind of writer to get Deadpool. It’s hard to balance knives, guns, a razor-sharp wit and an off-kilter personality. But in FEAR ITSELF: DEADPOOL, Christopher Hastings believes he has just the formula.

Kicking off this June, the three-issue limited series pairs Hastings with frequent Deadpool artist Bong Dazo on the trail of the scatter-brained soldier-for-hire after he lucks upon a familiar hammer that falls from the sky—and this Merc’s mallet doesn’t match any you’ll find in your average hardware store.

“Oh let me tell you, it’s a totally legit magical hammer, for sure,” says Hastings. “Just like those other ones you've seen [in the teasers] with scary Juggernaut and the other scary guys. Yep. Totally real magic scary hammer.”

“Deadpool’s is better than theirs, even,” adds editor Jordan D. White,” Theirs don’t have rhinestones. Magic scary rhinestones, naturally.”
Y'know, I'm normally pretty indifferent to print comics, but this has me intrigued.

I might have to get into this Deadpool person everyone mentions like he's some kind of personality one should know. Might hurt my totally edgy rebel cred, but what the hell? It's not like anyone has to know I'm secretly reading the popular stuff when no one's looking. I can pretend to be too cool for this shit and no one has to know! I'm so clever.

Alternatively: I could catch up with Dr. McNinja.

Welp I'm sold. I'll have to ask Comic Book Store Guy to hold me a copy.

BTW are they utterly incapable of finding a voice actor for Deadpool that isn't totally horrible for these games? He's never sounded high-pitched in my head! No matter what he and I talk about.

That's kind of the charm though...

When you do voice acting the higher pitch and faster tone = insane character. Look at what Mark Hamill did for Joker.

I didn't really have any preconceptions of the Joker at the time, though, I was eight years old or something. I hadn't read the Killing Joke or whatever. Deadpool though just sounds different in my head. It's a personal thing, not really anything to complain about.

I think Ryan Reynolds voice will be fine, for instance.

OI! Mark did low pitch slow tones as well. He used joker's voice like a instrument to show his mood. This made him sound Unlike many of the other villains around him as he changed his tone and tempo near constantly. Kind of like a real person does when they talk only slightly exaggerated. There is a reason why joker has 5 theme songs all at a different tempo and tone. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oD7h5k77uA)

On deadpools voice I kinda hear him a bit like Reynolds but also joker-ish constantly changing the tone and tempo to give him a more expressive edge. He does it pretty well in the Hulk vs Wolv movie but not in MvC
