ok thinking of taking another try at this. Since this is simply an interest thread I'll give you the low down and skip the details.

Idea of the game is you play half-child of an elemental, meaning you can turn into, generate, and manipulate your parents elements. Think logia users from One Piece just with finite regeneration. Game would be modern set and players would all be in the same group. Power scale would be fairly high. You can dish out alot of power and take alot of damage.

Any questions?

Well, I guess I'll ask a few basic questions since I'm interested. Well, more like I'm going to make assumptions and you can correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm guessing that the parents could probably possess different elements which would result in the PC having command over both, though not as powerful as a single element-wielding PC that came from parents who used the same element.

And finally, which elements are available, anyways? When it comes to elements, you usually have earth, water, air, fire, ice, lightning, light, and darkness. Would we be more limited than that or would you perhaps be making other less traditional elements available?

was gonna save that for when I described life cycle of people like the PCs, but I should probably tell that now.

Elementals in this setting are only vaguely aware. Conceiving a half-blood like you basically takes the form of the elemental "embracing" a woman. An example of what that would actually be like is your mother being engulfed in flames to form a fire based PC. Most do not survive this, those that survive long enough after to bare a child produce people like the player. Of course after being so damaged by the embrace and trauma of child birth, most half-bloods are orphans.

To answer you more directly, you cant be a hybrid of multiple elements

Pretty much if you have ever seen it used as one, its valid.

Though to remove this I am disallowing light and darkness, I just dont see them working. Oh and while I encourage a variety, there technically isn't anything stopping multiple people from having the same element

I'll sign up, too. I wanna lean towards fire, but any element has the potential for great destructive power.

Wow, been pretty quiet down this end of the forum recently, though this is quite interesting. Consider me intrigued.

something I wanted an opinion on before I actually wrote up a sign-up thread (plus I'd prefer abit more interest)

I wanted it to be modern for technological familiarity and so normal humans aren't completely screwed against you. However instead of world as we know it I wanted to make these changes

Geopolitical: World never got out of the feudal era and is made up of city states and non-aggression pacts. As a result nationalism is high and militaries are relatively small.

Technology: Biggest differance is telecommunication. Excluding the direct lines of the world leaders there are no world wide communication networks, such as cellphones or internet. Instead are more localized systems. The equivalent of cellphones are proximity based and self contained. High end models have range of 100 miles. Game play wise this means characters have their own personal comm system that can go anywhere.

Geography: Just to clarify, this is unchanged. Still all the same oceans, continents, etc of our world is here.

Sounds good, I see no reason to not have an alterna-earth. I mean we're already going to be playing elemental beings in a modern day high tech earth, go nuts with it man.

Works for me. Now hurry up and get that sign-up out so I can make my character instead of doing productive things.
