In a nutshell, Japan's owners of Yugioh is wanting money from 4Kids, whose been underpaying TVTokyo and NAS. Because of the lawsuit, 4Kids has lost it's licence for Yugioh, but is fighting, saying that the licence termination is invalid.
Sooooo.... They haven't been paying money... so when the licence gets pulled, they go "You can't do that!"? Does that even make sense to anyone else?
(EDIT: Thanks, I just realized I forgot to tag this. Derp.)

Lets face it, nobody is going to miss 4kids. Once they sink, TVTokyo will hand the Yugioh license to somebody else, probably Funimation, and the TV series will continue as normal but without the awful dubbing and perhaps like 20% less censorship and restraint.

The two Japanese licensors accused 4Kids of underpaying them and of conspiring with anime distributor Funimation to defraud them.
I don't think they'll give it to Funimation.

Think they might just do it themselves?
Probably not. Japanese companies aren't really all that interested in the west. Handing it off to someone else is an easy way to make a buck, so they do. It's only when that quick buck stops that they'll even really register that anything might have been wrong with the way it was handled.

Which leads to hilarious things like the Official English dub of Ghost Stories. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4iugDWRiCq8)

4Kids going bankrupt? O_O
WAHOO!!!!!
As to Yugioh going to Funimation...Funimation wouldn't want Yugioh. A friend of mine once heard of the card game being refered to as "Bling" once and that was all it took to make her stop playing on top of having her Yugioh cards stolen (Not her Pokemon deck, go figure). Yugioh is basically a dying horse being beat to death so it should just have a last seasons/series and the finally end it with gunshot to the head.

Whatever happened to the games that were on Yugioh...
Ya know, the FUN stuff before the horrible, godawful marketing took over for the card game?

Media Blasters I think...they were just at Anime Detour as a vendor and uh...yeah...hentai out for all to see at an all ages Anime convention...:crying:
Yugioh and them go well together at that point! But that could be just my hate of anything Yugioh coming up.

Well, Viz has been handling Naruto and Bleach, so they're a possibility.
But that's about all I know of when it comes to shonen outside of Funimation.

4Kids has lost it's licence for Yugioh, and has since filed for bankrupcy, and has been removed from the New York Stock Exchange.
